That is beautiful!! Very nicely done.
My new favorite is a concoction a neighbor made up for Christmas. She called it a sleigh ride. A warm square of brownie topped with peppermint ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream with crushed candy cane mixed in and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. Yummmmm.
What do you do for fun when you're not gardening?
Oh, my! That cold porcelain arrangement is stunning! It's so realistic.
Absolutely beautiful. Did you know there's a place on Daves Garden where you could sell those? Or is it way too much work for the money it would bring?
My daughter has bought me a few irises in that material, and yours are certainly as nice.
thanks sally, mamasita and polly
no did not know there were sales here, except for seeds
only been onboard for less than a week and learning threaded discussions
originally came to id a bird I spotted--now a whole pandoras box
I have a peanut brittle recipe that takes just minutes and is done in the microwave and is sooooooo good.
Oh, please, what is it? I love peanut brittle.
Might be good if you share, missingrosie, otherwise we might descend up on you in droves.....
GW, truly beautiful work.
thanks sharran
Oh, that's gorgeous. I love it. Two of my favorite things -- stained glass and irises.
Very nice GW ! That's what I would like to learn next.
Beautiful work!
Lovely!
I am very jealous of you artists! I love seeing such beautiful work, so keep it up!
All this fine craftsmanship and attention to small details is amazing.
I have the touch of a blacksmith, so this type of work is way beyond my abilities.
Beautiful things being shown here !
Touch of a blacksmith? How about wrougt iron work? My DB made a beautiful gate. heeheehee
The cold porcelain pieces are exquisite.
Oh, just gorgeous!!
Oh, Louise, that's my Kiva. You've captured her perfectly. And I love the hummingbird.
when I am not gardening I am either doing crafts ( as I have a small business for bazaar season), I go to Bible studies, I read & I play on the computer. these are a few of the things I do!!!! hahahaha
Are you purchasing those small tile squares and then cutting a few to fit? I think you need to show us a step by step instruction thread, we'll all be your pupils.
Sue, I feel honored, but I am brand new at this. I'd be happy to show a step by step of what I've learned so far, but again I have not gotten very far. Yes, it is small tiles with a lot of cutting that many people would find tedious. All I can say is that if someone likes doing the 1000 pieces and up jigsaw puzzles they would probably like doing mosaic.
As an aside, was it you, Sue, that mentioned you got back up hard drive? I think my computer's brain is stuffed and I don't want to buy a new computer just some additional brain.
Isn't she beautiful? I've always liked calicos but have never had one. Never had an orange tabby either, but one now resides here quite comfortably. Maybe a calico in need of a friend will wander into my life. Hope she looks like Kiva, cause that is one gorgeous cat!
Today I had a gorgeous one wander in here - tall, handsome, great eyes, hair, body...but Jack wouldn't let me keep him and the guy's wife may have complained if I had tried. Wow! He was here to measure for new vanity tops but I felt like a teenager for an hour.
Now that was fun without a thought of gardening!
Now that's a great winter hobby!
It was definitely my kind of winter break!
Could you send me a pic Pirl? I'll make a long, lingering, mosaic of his best features.
How about one of Hugh Jackman?! We was a great host on the Oscars, didn't even know he could sing and dance. I could look at him and listen to his accent all day!
He is a cutie! I only caught the end but I thought it was well done! Ah yeah , great accent also!
I thought pirl was talking about a CAT at first !
I know, JD. A tall cat with good hair.
Think it was a cool cat with great eyes.
Once again, it becomes a hair issue. LOL
My sisters all think it's the worst injustice imagineable that I was born with straight hair and they are all curly. They spend half their lives messing with flat irons, industrial strength blow dryers and other appliances that defy logic.
Did you ever try to make your hair curly? I remember a time when all men were getting perms.
Unfortunately, yes. It was horrific to say the least. I had the girl cut it all off the next day. Never again.
Ha! I suspected as much. But I am with you, I got a perm and had it all cut off a couple of days later. When it was done I got in my car, looked in the mirror and started to cry. Not tears, sobs. They cooked my head. I didn't sleep well then either.
Russ had a perm, too. Probably at the same time. It looked like a mini Orphan Annie. OMG it was horrendous. And those leisure suits in light blue, light green, and heaven forbid yellow and pink.
