Here's a view of the front of the house, the red blooms with gray foliage in the foreground are Calif. fuchsia

Here's another garden, they planted Westerland roses with 'Black & Blue' salvia and the green bloom heads of a euphorbia.

On the side of the huge yard, they had these raised beds for vegetables and cutting flowers.

Like gorgeous delphiniums

This was another garden with this simple arbor with a grape growing over it. What I liked were the pop of color with the violet blue chairs and tables and soft yellow cushions.

The blue was repeated throughout the garden, here, again the use of the 'Black & Blue' salvia with the eye popping orange jolt of Livin' Easy rose. My colors! (by the way, I hate taking pics in full sun, but on tours, don't have much choice)

WOW those are all beautiful Sue. I can feel the sun.

Oh it was hot, end of July hot!

Here is their lounger, also painted. Neat way to revive old wood garden furniture!

Here's a local rose garden tour we did last May. Nice now but what does it look like in the off bloom time? Hmmm

Saw this odd landscape whatever one day when I parked near a nursery.

More odd stuff. Doesn't seem to fit with the newer house style if you ask me.

How about this tree and mushrooms?

Alrighty then. Wonder what the neighbors think. Certainly low maintenance. Needs a little sand sweeping it looks like. ^_^

This little patio was a couple of houses down.

Here's my brother-in-laws front yard, they live north of Vancouver. So technically, other peoples garden right?!

I am most jealous of their view from the back porch and kitchen window.

Back in 2004, I went to St. Louis for some daylily garden tours. Here's a few shots.

Sue, I have to take a close look at every one of these photos, but even before I do that I have to say how much I would love those rock arrangements, especially the tree and mushrooms, if they were somewhere else. They should be part of the landscape of that house you once photographed in Half Moon Bay with all of the succulents.

The view from the Vancouver house is breathtaking.

Sorry to butt in. I thought you were through, but I see on my preview page that you're still posting.

Well, I don't mind anyone butting in, at least I know I am not alone here talking to myself. And I do have to get up once in a while for a pee break LOL.

Some more small beds.

I liked this combo

and this way too clean pond. Just noticed those chimney flues in the background. Never noticed them before. Hmmm, will have to go find me some, I have a few ideas now!

This was a mixed bed I fell in love with, with the warm and vibrant colors I adore, the oranges mixed with purple.

Looking back toward the front of the house, oh my eyes are turning green with envy for that space!! And the back yard was even bigger! Sigh.... ain't ever gonna happen here in Calif.

The following year, 2005, I flew to Cincinnati for garden tours. This time my Mom came along, oh we had such fun! Here she is checking out a bloom.

This was just a stunning, almost too perfect garden! Probably looks different when not on a tour. Or they had round the clock gardeners.

Perfect huge hosta

And a pond, I guess you can call it that!

And meandering paths

And a few leading off into the woods, beckoning you to see where it leads

It wasn't a completely serious garden though!

In another garden, this bed was backed by a trellis divider.
