hey Dawn you don't need to go to have nervous breakdown, that is what your friends here are for......don't know what a lot of us would do if we get on here and vent every once in awhile...it is good to have someone on the outside to talk to...take care and enjoy some warm weather for us.....don't think I will ever get warm again.
Guess I shouldn't complain about being cold with what so many of you are going through right now.....stay warm and stay safe everyone.
Yes Crissy I think we all suffer from CRS from time to time.....unfortunately for me it seems to be happening more and more often.
Best/ Worse/ ? did you learn today #81visit with friends...
Morning girls, again I've slept in a little longer than I should have so will be on the run, but I've a full day to gab and no boss..so out somes all those paints/brushes and project...
Just took a quick peek outside and the plows haven't done the roads as yet..guess they are cutting back or when it snows in such great amounts they wait for it to stop THEN plow..I'm driving in today so it should be an interesting ride...less nerve racking if I leave 1/2 hr. earlier and just take my time...if the back concessions aren't done I think I'll travel to Midland first then up HWY 93..adding miles to the trip but hey, better roads are needed...
to tall who posted before me since my last post...talk shortly!!!
Drive safely Betty-I had a hard time getting to the freeway today, but once I was there, it was pretty much smooth sailing until I got back off it-I too left about 20mins early to allow easy time:)
Have a safe trip in Betty.
I don't have to go look after Dana today....no braving the snow this morning..
I was watching on the news about Arkansas and Kentucky..all about the horrible ice storm ..no power..all kinds of accidents.
Hope Sharon has power...and is OK..
Stacey..You must be having a lot of mixed feelings about quitting your job.. ..relief and worry..do what you feel is best for you.
Waving to all........
Carol-you hit the nail on the head!!
morning all.
stacy, must be a great load off your sholders! hope you find something better..
deborah, good luck!
dawn , hope things are ok with you:)
laura you got sick again? take care
hi crissy, hi trisha, carol gilli, jeannine
any one heard from ruby is she ok?
shar, how are things with you how is ethan doing.
betty love the quilts! can i see the xmas one, well it sounds like your sure feeling better!
paul still out of the office? what are the boys up to?
lindakay, its easy !
i use the bondini glue to glue things in place(yellow top)actually its a nail glue that isnt to strong in smell i get this at my work wholesale i suppose sally's beauty might carry or any kind of glue might work guess will have to experiment..
after that sits a day, then i mix this resin omg the original resin will send you running the smell is horrible have to use it outdoors.
i found this at tap plastic's i thought i would try it because it says it has low odors, omg you cant smell nothing! really,
so i am able to mix in the house and apply in a warm (70) room the two ounce mix ratio can fill about 14to 16 caps ( can get about 4 groups on that box)that box is 11.99 here..
as for the comotion on drilling it is importaint to have a center top mark in the top and not to have any beads in the way of the hole lol cause on the drill press sometimes the bead will cause a slip and the hole dont look so nice lol found that out to late lol
its alot of fun and skys the limit good luck hope i answered this right i get over excited and jump to fast to the next part without thinking it out lol
omg judy! you better stop cooking lol
they wont let you go back to work,
so are there any plants left in the yard?
think it is spring soon yuck smelling strong shunk in the hood already.
oh this is funny, did our taxes last night fed was good however it is official!
30 day waiting period on the state refund, till they figure out what is going on..
and if the state go's bankrupt...
(no refund) think im going to change my state location sooo embarrased lol
Liz, I have never heard of either of those products, do you think Michaels would carry it? NOT that I'm going into business..lol..too high stress for me... but thanks Liz for the instructions..gee if I had a few grandaughters I most certainly would undertake making them..would imagine the spoon pendant is done much the same..how did you cut the handle off though-metal blade?
OMG you just don't think that States can go bankrupt???
Carol it's not snowing here right now...know you listen to Breakfast Television, did you hear this morning when they were saying we are 25% over January average snowfall so far this month..still 3 days to go..also saying that February is traditionally the coldest month here, now that's something to look forward to..but, rather have the cold than snow..had to laugh, you know how I didn't know my car had a heater plug, well last night going home, wow, we were having a terrible time in my little car as the roads had not been plowed..anyway, almost to my door when a lightbulb went off..next to my gear shift is a 'hold' button, apparently it's similar to 4 wheel drive..used it this morning and couldn't believe the difference...don't you think one should read their auto manual when they purchase a new vehicle....
So Carol, what do you have planned today..and yes, I am worried about Shar and other DG members...some are right in the path of this storm...let's hope they post today..do know Shar said the other day she was out of hydro for 4 hrs. but another front was coming in...drats...don't have heer telephone number here at work or I'd call...Audrey was also in an area that was being hit..will surf some threads to see if either have posted...
STACEY??? you still working??? you must have given in your notice then with a week or two for them to find alternate 'punching bag' for the boss...I left early as well..got here 1/2 hr. early..gave me time to take my paints, wood pieces and set myself up for the day!
Trisha, glad you got to tell our Dawn that this room is always open to support each other, yep we gab about nonsense some times, about our humdrum day (mine in particular) most of the time but when the crunch comes, we're all here to offer support to each other....Mary..glad you feel welcomed enough to want to drop in when things just aren't 100%..I so wish you had the funds to purchase dad's property..I should have done so with my dad's and by boys are kicking themselves that they didn't keep the place on the lake..I said I'd sign it over to them, make to $$$ and they would just have to take on the remaining building mortgage..but they were young, didn't think they wanted to be tied down, now what they wouldn't give for it..
Thanks for the offer Dawn..are you able to get any gardening done? we in the north covered in snow so want to see some of your gardens, even if it's just a bit of green showing it's head...isn't it groundhog day shortly? let's hope the news is good...
Crissy enjoy your weather...did you remember what you were going to post..lol
Best go back to my painting..
Morning all. Still getting rain and it is a little cooler today. Got a lot of things to get done today for the festival so won't be on much.
Tink --one day at the time.
All stay safe and warm.
betty, michaels may carry the expoxy dont know about the nail glue maby another type of glue would work.
yep they could tax preparer said that to us if they cant come up with a solution, in 30 days it could go there, so we will wait and see.
Good Morning!
haha, yep maybe I should take up cooking! LOL, I was actually concidering buy a Hot Dog business.
Well, untill I realized all the time and work involved. Would take away from any gardening what so ever, so quickly passed that idea!
OH My Gosh, Shar...I hope you are safe and sound. MY gosh, KY is buried under Ice.
You already know that...Are you alright? Geesh, maybe without power.
Stacey,, I saw your resignation on the SI, Good for you. Think long and hard about taking the other office.
Hopefully that supervisor doesn't make life H(&*& your last two weeks, or I should say worse...But then I guess you won't care too much, I know I wouldn't.
Anyway...Talked with Steve and Guess who is going to Texas?? LOL, packing bags already.
Has Cedrick arrived? Today, i think I will make a special Bahamama shirt, in case he is here for that.
Waving Hello to Everyone...
See you all i a bit.
Thanks Liz...good luck on tax rebate..might even cover enough for a flight to Canada ( eh?) lol
Judy, can sure tell you are excited about the possibility of a Texas trip..when my girlfriend Barb was alive we headed out, spent 2 1/2 weeks, went through St. Louis, Tulsa, Oklahoma downwards, did the entire east coast of Texas..spend a few days on South Padre Island, ever crossed over into Mexico..back up, omg got out of Dallas, traffic was overwhelming, Barb wanted to see where Dallas was filmed but out of town we drove..went to the Alamo..did all kinds of things..but for some reason I had an uneasy feeling..2 weeks after my return Roger was dead...
All that aside think it will be fun, not trying to take the shine off Stacey organizing this trip, but where oh where would we meet you?
OMG, so finally we may get to meet in Texas, Judy? I knew Betty was working on going but that is wonderful news.
Morning Betty, hope you h ad a good drive to work. Gotts be so careful on those nasty roads.
Betty, so glad to hear your going to be in Texas. Looking forward to meeting so many of our "sistah's".
Have a great day.
LK
Well Linda Kay know we'll all be making an effort to get there...
Hate to say this but on the news this am they said some people in Ark and Kentucky would be without power for the next two weeks Yuk!! Prayers to all to stay warm. Hugs BEV
Oh Bev, how tragic...OMG 2 weeks without power..will call Shar tonight...
Are you being affected in any way?
This message was edited Jan 29, 2009 1:39 PM
No Betty, Thank you. We just have 4 inches of snow and cold is all. We have been very fortunate this yr so far. I really feel for those down south. HUGS BEV
I'm OK! Still have power, but SE Mo. is out! For up to two weeks! My Sweetie's coming over in a little while. He has a small camp type stove that runs off a canister and he's been sitting in the bathroom with it on! It's safe to use inside, though, not like a camp stove. 27* here now. Trees are down everywhere the news reports. Kennett Mo. was completely blacked out except for City Hall last night on the news.
OMG those poor souls...glad your sweetie is ok..be sure to warm him up..lol...I'll have try and call Shar for sure..she'll be so fretting on her own without hydro..it's one thing to be housebound but another if no hydro..
thanks for reporting in..
snowing here, not sure if a great accummulation is called for, but any snow is too much snow about now...
Only noon and I feel like I have put in a full day already. Thursday is our 90 year old neighbor's day to get her hair done.....about the only outing she gets these days... Since my mum isn't driving right now I get the job. Mum has decided she want a new TV (flat screen) for the kitchen counter so we had to go look at those, and look for a new necklace chain at Fred Meyer. Then we went to the Gluten Free Store. Our Pastor is allergic to wheat. 99% of the refreshments that people bring for after our Saturday Service are cakes and cookies...Jan can't eat those.... we found some gluten free, wheat free Brownies that we are going to take for her this week. Picked up Doris and got her back home...then Mum decided she needed to go grocery shopping....at least she was tired enough at this point that I finally got her to use one of the electric carts so she can sit and follow me around to get her purchases. She was a nervous wreck but I think she will like once she gets used to it, and it keeps her off that knee. And as I pointed out she did not run into anything or anyone! I knot know about her, but at this point I am about ready for a nap.
Have been watching all the weather reports.....hope everyone is staying warm and safe. Have you heard anything from Jesse?
Really tired right now so think I will rest a bit and check in later...
You are entitled to a nap Trisha, I got tired just reading what you have done today. Enjoy.
Trisha OMG talk about a full day..off you go..you sure are earning 'earthly angel' wings....you do deserve a nap...
Long afternoon..did go to the mall though, 2 queen size Christmas quilts coming home with me..lol
Yes I did give 2 weeks-whether or not they allow me to finish that out is another ??, but I will not be treated worse for 2 weeks-If that happens, I will just pack my crap up, go home and never come back!!LOL
You are a brave one Stacey...
Not brave, just sick and tired and know I DESERVE better....in fact I am scared crapless!! Mom put it well, when you are in this position it is like bungee jumping or parachuting-you can sit there and want to do it as you know you need to, but you also know once you do there is no turning back, but in the end you will feel liberated.
Good advise, aren't mom's wonderful!
I know huh?? She had a great way of putting the feeling into words...
Was a rough ride home, still stormy in our area..calling for much the same tomorrow and on the weekend..made plans to meet my sister Sharon for brunch on Sat. at 11:00 a.m. at the Marketplace Buffet ONLY if weather is ok, so I decided that a trip to Midland to make sure I have everything I need to stay in my jammies and enjoy the weekend was on hand..
My girlfriend Darlene so liked my rag quilt that I thought I'd check Fabricland to see if they had any flannel at $3.00 meter ..yep they did..Darlene likes bright colors and boy did I buy bright colors..lol...so guess what's washing right now..of course, the material so that tomorrow when I get in I'll be all set..if it snows, who cares...
It's Thursday night and Noah is here, brought him good old McDonald's..just sent him to the variety store for chocolate bars and treats for he and I..it's party time..lol
Best go call Shar before it gets much later..will let you know if I reach her...
Called her number and it says
"all circuits are busy' so will try and call again in a few hrs. however, if hydro is out and maybe some telephone lines that could be what the recording would say...
Say a prayer for Shar and others please who my be in this terrible situation due to the storm...
Betty, I think we all need prayers right now. So prayers going out for all the aunts and sisters to be safe, healthy, happy and secure.
Liz that is exactly why I moved out of California. I highly doubt they go bankrupt, they've had to issue IOU's before. The state of CA is the 1st in the nation, it goes up first to very high extremes, it goes down first to major lows because it was waaaayyyyyyyy too inflated in the first place, it's the most populated, polluted, with the highest crime. The property taxes are way too high and so are car registrations. I'll deal with the weather here in AR before I'll ever move back there. Seriously. I don't miss it. Oh, and this is the first year in my entire life I don't have to file California State Taxes Woo Hoo!!!!
Betty and everyone else driving around in the icy, snowy mess BE CAREFUL!!
Arkansas is a mess, apparently so are 3 other states that local news isn't showing and I'm not home in time to see the national and world news.
Well I had a busy day at work, got home and Dave was getting ready to go to WalMart, so we went there, then dinner, back home and unloaded groceries, then watched Hell's Kitchen, now I'm waving at everyone and off to bed I go.
Have a great night ya'll and I'll see you tomorrow!
WAVING!!
HI ALL, we are in the middle of a really bad heat wave with temps exceeding 115 -120!

byeeeeee
ok, -0 degree weather or 110+ weather... thank you very but I don't think I'll take either. I can picture having both of those.
Do your best to stay cool, safe and sane.

Have been in a bit of the cold......104 is about the warmest I have been in so can't imagine....sounds like I won't complain about our weather here...not so bad after all.
Has been a long day so I think am going to call it a night, early for a change...everyone stay safe and warm........ except for my other Laura, you stay safe and cool please.......I can't imagine temps that hot!!
Morning, she's a cold one out there..doing the happy dance because it's Friday...3:00 and it's homeward bound, slight detour to Midland first..they had beautiful material on for curtains/canope type bed, not up to it this weekend but if I don't purchase the material sale will be over..should have bought it last night while in the store but wasn't sure there would be enough material on the bold, I'm going to try, can always piece right?
Noah was here until almost 11..he watched t.v. with me, got bored and came downstairs to play on computer, I sat up and because I had washed the flannel I decided to cut my block..most likely staying up will 12:18 got me just a little more than 1/2 done..one of the yardage doesn't look like it goes and yet on the bolds it did, took a photo for you to see the bright colors and once again it seems to be ok so guess I'll include it in Dar's quilt
LOL Trisha, we sure have a vast difference in our weather..can't imagine having temps 120..now that would be just as bad as the - temps, in both you are indoors..you couldn't even sit outside could you Laura?
Going to look at the site for you Laura once I'm at work..finding a nice card with words that will touch her heart just might change her mind about seeing you...prayers being sent for both of you! Laura do you have a/c at home..most likely working for a gmt. type company they'd have it, cars have it..you'd be jumping from one into the other real quick..wow that's hot...
Trisha you sure deserve to go to bed early...that was a lot of running to help everyone else out..your turn to treat yourself...hope today is a day of rest for you..
Stacey, hope when you wake this am you'll be feeling better...nerve racking to say the least having to make such a decision...
Crissy let's hope this year in filling in a different state you get much $$$ return..think of the places you could spend it...
Talked with Judy for awhile last night so guess that was a Best of the Day..
Worse, of course contacting Shar and them saying no service or words to that effect..sure hope she's ok..
Audrey, you faring ok in your neck of the woods today?
Laura, you are right in saying many of us need prayers, that we do...adding our needs to my prayer list...
Judy, almost forgot, told you I'd post a photo of the quilts I got yesterday..too bad it isn't Christmas, one would be on my bed..lol
OOOO-pretty
morning all,
any word from shar? hope she is doing ok.
laura cant even imagine 120 one year traveling through the desert in late summer, temps reached 118 i cant even fathom 2 more degrees omg stay cool. nice catalog and some reasonable prices!hope things work out with sis.
judy, now how did you get away with it lol? will be a nice road trip for you
betty, i like those quilts good buy's..
now that im ahead of the game been getting up at 2.30 get dh off so spagetti already done noodles cooked , not much to do when i get home but warm up ahhhh feel like i got something done! now to contend with my boss major p.i.t.a lately will be jumping for joy when she leaves at 11.00 today! her issue is she overwhelms herself then takes it out on us but thats ok because when our district mgr asks how my assistant mgr training is going i will tell her the truth she dosnt have time to work with me on it he he he!
how are you feeling?.
crissy, let me tell you im am green with envy you did it!
we have been wanting to leave here for about 7 years what stops us is the family ties on both sides we were thinking of idaho, actually near the canadian border, we saw a few homes dirt cheap i wish we would of gone for it, so for now were stuck hopefully not for to long lol.
oh yes crime, were in a ok location but some places are just awful! we got adt security about 10 years back glad we did i feel safe.
now there talking about additional charges for vehicle registration, wont be for long everyone will start ridding transit, funny a realtor told us a story once, didnt get it then but i understand it now lol..
he told us there is 49 states and then there is california , a country all its own..
hello to everyone, vicki whats going on with you hope your all well ,pinch ty on the nose for me :)
have a wonderful day
