ROFLOL we can tell!!!
Best/ Worse/ ? did you learn today #81visit with friends...
want some bottlecaps lol
Cracker Barrel is a great restaurant. I try to stop there when I can.
LK
lizrainey, are the lids filled with something, to hold the design in place? They look so nice. How do you make them into a necklace? How do you join them together?
LK
LOL, Betty...sorry to hear your Bored..Me too!
Going to have to put some music on and dance around the house.
Hey, Guess what??
LOL, something I made!
NOT with material!
SO laughing, Liz I'm about bored enough to try those bottlecaps..LindaKay, most of the 'pretend' food I have in my cafe comes from Crackerbarrel as does a lot of my house decorations...when I visited Judy in Chicago a stained glass lamp with 3d butterflies came home with me, each and every trip it's a must stop and shop..
Not sure how close to the Buffalo border they are but you can be sure when I take mom in a few week I'll be looking..
Judy, turn it up loud enough so I can hear and dance too! To nasty to do anything outside.
The food is good, but the shopping is very nice. They always have things no one esle does. Stuff for the garden, for the house...
LK
Guess what? Could it be an outfit to wear for your bahamagirl birthday party?
LindaKay, for the garden, yes I did purchase a round acrylic plaque that is a sunshine face surrounded by leaves...oh just can't wait to take all these goodies out come spring..
I am thinking that if it's not too stormy I'll head into town tonight for all those pressie bags and go to home depot to pick up some wood for a window bench..looking at the kitties standing on hind legs looking out the window at the birds so thought it might be nice to make something not overly big so they can make themselves comfy and watch the world go by as we've still a lot of cold weather and they are not fond of outside during winter season...
So you see, it's been just over 2 weeks of not feeling well, getting antsy, could take on a few projects so am truly excited...
LOL nope not clothes!
Tadah...I, me persoanlly made Chicken Soup!!
The homemade kind!
OMG you didn't Judy...hey, better not start improving on your cooking skills or Steve will give up the daily cooking of meals..once you show him you've talent, you are in BIG trouble...
Now how about hot bread to go with it...Judy I'm impressed because not being a 'cooker' I know how excited I get when I finally make something I don't burn...
LOL, Betty I hear that...
Well now, I was kind of thinking about some kind of rolls.
There is a recipe on the flour bag, maybe I will try to make those biscuits.
Yikes, I hope it tastes as good as it looks!
Ok, I am going off to JoAnnes. We painted the Bathroom. So now I want to make some new curtain. Maybe a shower curtain as well.
Who would have thunk you being so 'domesticated' my goodness...
Can you imagine I was so bored I went outside and shovelled our front steps, even went to the office next door and did the same..now that IS bored!
Paul just came in, lost quite a bit of weight through his illness..wish it had done the same for me, even with barely eating no weight loss...counting the hours before he leaves for the city..I normally paint when he's here, but today I'd have to take over the desk and side desk and have paints from one end to another..have some taping to do as well so tapping a pencil on my desk until he leaves...
Yep, Judy's Ms Suzy Homemaker and now about to be Miss Betty Crocker too. Judy, you go girl. You'll be wondering how you got all this house cleaning done back when you worked all the time. Enjoy every minute of all this freedom for the work force.
Betty it is such a relief to hear you being chipper. I'm glad that nastier than a cold didn't keep you down for long. You just spring back up so fast! Can't keep a good woman down. No sir re.
Well, I'm off to clean my house. Got a two page to do list ready. Going to finish cleaning the sunroom and not think about smoking. I'm going on day #2 of no smoking. Y'all cross your fingers that I don't cave in.
I am crossing my fingers Deborah, it's a brave thing you do...if you are half as energetic as Judy since she's quit smoking you'll have your entire home spotless and organized before the end of the month..just think of how many 'swaps' you'll be able to join...
Glad that Liz in Ireland (a very dear friend and one who has called me each and every day since I've been ill to check up on me) sent me the following about feeling down...
OMG time for me to see myself as a cry baby...best not think there won't be a sunny day ahead!
Please join me and watch the following
clip...http://www.maniacworld.com/are-you-going-to-finish-strong.html
NOAH TODAY
In the year 2008, the Lord came unto Noah,
Who was now living in the England and said:
"Once again, the earth has become wicked and over
-populated, and I see the end of all flesh before me."
"Build another Ark and save 2 of every living thing
Along with a few good humans."
He gave Noah the blueprints, saying:
"You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will
Start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights."
Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah
Weeping in his yard - but no Ark.
"Noah!," He roared, "I'm about to start the rain!
Where is the Ark ?"
"Forgive me, Lord," begged Noah, "but things have changed."
"I needed a Building Permit."
"I've been arguing with the Boat Inspector
About the need for a sprinkler system."
"My neighbours claim that I've violated the
Neighbourhood Bye-Laws by building the Ark in my
Back garden and exceeding the height limitations. We had to
Go to the Local Planning Committee for a decision."
"Then the Local Council and the Electricity Company demanded a shed load of money for the future costs of moving power
Lines and other overhead obstructions, to clear the
Passage for the Ark 's move to the sea. I told them
That the sea would be coming to us, but they would
Hear nothing of it."
"Getting the wood was another problem. There's a ban
On cutting local trees in order to save the Greater Spotted Barn Owl."
"I tried to convince the environmentalists that I
Needed the wood to save the owls - but no go!"
"When I started gathering the animals the RSPCA took me to court. They insisted that I was
Confining wild animals against their will. They
Argued the accommodations were too restrictive, and
It was cruel and inhumane to put so many animals in
A confined space."
"Then the Environmental Agency ruled that I couldn't build the Ark until they'd conducted an environmental impact study
On your proposed flood."
"I'm still trying to resolve a complaint with the
Human Rights Commission on how many minorities I'm
Supposed to hire for my building crew."
"Immigration are checking the
Visa status of most of the people who want to work."
"The trades unions say I can't use my sons. They
Insist I have to hire only Union workers with
Ark-building experience."
"To make matters worse, the Inland Revenue seized all my assets, claiming I'm trying to leave the country illegally
With endangered species."
"So, forgive me, Lord, but it would take at least 10
Years for me to finish this Ark. "
"Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine,
And a rainbow stretched across the sky."
Noah looked up in wonder and asked,
"You mean you're not going to destroy the world?"
"No," said the Lord.
"the Government beat me to it."
Promise, it's almost lunch hour and I'll not be posting to entertain myself...because of the storm Paul will not be travelling to the city today...so one more post from my Liz....

I just quit my job
You are in our prayers Stacey, no one should have to put up with the things you have put up with.
OMG Stacey, what happened?
Took a real late lunch 2:45 to 3:35 thought we'd have 1 hr. left to our work day but roads are terrible, accidents all over so we get to leave in 10 minutes..so quickly eating the chinese food I brought back..couldn't shop for quilts AND eat all in 1 hr...
Managed to get a Christmas Quilt for Suzanne, wouldn't you know after I picked another 2 I forgot to get me one..you can be sure either tomorrow or Friday I'll get myself one..don't know how I did that...then another Christmas throw and a pretty cut out table cloth for my dining table...all and all I'm happy with my purchases and of course my quilts..
Not so much the one for my bed because it doesn't have red in it, but she said the spring quilts will be in around April so I'll go back, fold this one up or hang it...
Stacey know you must be fretting..saying prayers that something will turn up more in the field that you'll enjoy..no fun going to work each deay and dreading it...
Good for you Stacey.
Now take a deep sigh...It will be ok.
Will keep you in my prayers for something better to come your way.
Well, can you beleive, I didn't buy anything at JoAnns, yikes...I must be sick or something...
LOL.
Betty, please be careful home.
Steve should be home soon too. So yay...
Yes Betty, have a safe trip home.
Bill is due home for lunch anytime now so I guess I had better get something ready.
hello all,
betty how did u know? yes i got sick for 5 days!! im better now so all good.
gosh this thread motors along i cant keep up!
glad your feeling better betty... all so busy...
hugs
The other day you were asking for coupons for a link to do some shopping. What siter are you looking at, and I will try to find you some coupons.
LK
Betty-added onto everything else, I was sent 3 snide, rude, uncalled for text messages last night when I let her know that I switched shifts with the other gal since we were getting at least 6" of snow
So Stacey, when will be your last day or was it today..nothing worse than braving the storm, white knuckles and all and then get no appreciation for doing so..can't imagine...don't you fret, something will come up, your just in turmoil right now, a few days more and you'll wonder why you didn't do it before...what did DH have to say?
Waving Laura, do hope you are feeling better...you go sit outside in that sunshine, think of us in the blizzard and enjoy...nothing like sunshine to make you feel better...Laura, Linka Kay was asking as well about the coupons? what kind were they???
What a time getting home tonight, didn't hurt my feelings when I saw the driveway..plowman hasn't come as yet but most likely he'll wait until early morning..I'm just counting the days, 2 more and then it's couch laying time right?
Wouldn't you know my camera's batteries were not charged enough to take photo's of all the quilts at the quilt shop....going back tomorrow for mine so will hopefully take them then...
Some of my today buys...
Did you call her a cry baby? LOL
Have water on for spaghetti, Dave didn't go down until noon so he'll be sleeping until 8pm. Cold but not too bad down here, just have to watch for icy patches on the roads from big rigs dropping snow on the interstate and it freezing up.
Betty I am so glad you are feeling some better. I worry about all that congestion you have, that's when I have bronchitis and end up getting some sort of antibiotics for it.
I want snow instead of ice... :(
Oh/oh Crissy, must go back and read what I typed, surely I didn't call her a crybaby...if I did, apologies/apologies/apologies..who knows what I type when I'm not well and rambling on....
Last post before I call it a night..
Not as pretty as my white quilt but as the kitties sleep on it because they prefer to stay inside during the winter it will be comfy enough..lol... hey for $39.99 quilt and pillow shams..who cares right...
Shar, haven't seen you post today, I sure do hope you haven't been outside working all day on your own, you'll surely not be able to walk tonight?????
Night/night everyone..
Be safe...be kind to yourself and good Lord willing we'll talk tomorrow!
DH said he was proud of me:) I spent almost 1.5hrs coming into work today and was 10 mins late and got the what for-are you freaking kidding me?? UGH-I am just glad-her boss called me and wants me to stay-he gave me some things to ponder, but truly have no energy to do so tonigh-I am mentally & emotionally drained-just got home form work, going to go upstairs and read a litle then go to sleep...
Her boss knows that she is as lack as she is because you are good at what you do.
NNNOOOOOOO Betty you didn't, I was Joking!!!
That would piss me off, I'm sorry but I don't blame you. Think good and hard about what your boss said, I'd be all, "You get rid of her and I'll come back" lol!
Hello All; This has been a difficult week and I am so thankful for you all that I can write here because it has truly grounded me and been something to look forward to!
Marion - I would love to share gardening with you...although I believe I will be the one who is 'learning'. We have a lot of shady spots and they are pretty full...(thanks to DH). So perhaps I can tell you what has worked there.... The sunny spots are the ones I will be working to finish this year. My family is from your area....Interlachen. Dad is still trying to sell his acreage there....wish I could buy it 1) to help him and 2) to keep it in the family....but it's more than I can afford at this time. He wants to build with his wife in Wewahitchka. He brought me a Hydrangea from there a few weeks ago which I believe is another shade plant. I will be working on a full hot sun area this year...just a spot we didn't finish up last year. I am looking for some skinny tall plants to put against the fence near a path around the pool...we found some holly that will work...but need a couple more...
Betty - This trip you are all planning sounds so exciting! where are you going? I am glad to see you posting so much...was worried when you were so sick. I wish I could get interested in quilting like Grandma was. The whole quilting bee thing sounds a bit like this Thread....gals sharing in their lives and supporting each other. (Trying to think of the name of that movie.....Oh Yeah "How to make an American Quilt"
Oh gosh I tried to see all the thread, but as usual I gave up after about 15. since I have been on the computer for the last 2 hours doing other things so, now I have nothing of value to answer.
I did have a friend who bought a futon and it was very comfortable for her, but it did not last really long before she needed a new mattress but it was a few years and they are not that expensive to replace and it beats an air mattress that make you sweat and loses air too.
If I can pitch in some $, let me know, but DG has policies, so you may need to ask Dave first if you organize something like that.
I can't talk about work and family and new jobs or I will implode today Betty. lol I must go now and have a nervous breakdown girls, if you will excuse me please.
Thank God for warm weather.
LOL warm weather, the high today was 33, that's the warmest it's been in 3 days. Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the low 50s. I feel bad for all of those up in northern AR with that ice storm, they say it's worse than the one they had here in 2000.
I was going to say something and I forgot, so I guess I'll see ya'll tomorrow night.
Hugs
