Dh came home early...backhoe broke down so no work till Tuesday...
So i've been MIA all afternoon...getting ready to leave in the morning...

LK glad everything went ok with the foot operation...my DSS had the procedure done on both his feet
About 3 years ago...So I know what your going through...He said it was well worth it...

Linda Kay thank you so much for letting us know you are okay. I hope you don't suffer much pain now, and that you will have 2 good working "feets" now that it's all over with. Hey, wanna go dancing when you feel better? LOL!

To everyone that has worked so hard on these ornaments and joined the exchange, thank you for your time, generosity and kindness. I know it will be exciting for us to receive these treasure made by our friends.

I'm going to spend a relaxing evening watching movies and cuddling with Maddy and Raynee under a quilt. Supposed to be 28 here tonight....Love you all, and have a wonderful night my friends!

Kim, thanks for the cobbler. I got the coffee. I always got coffee. Hate to think what would happen if coffee ever disappeared off the market. Would not be a pretty sight for sure. LOL

Stil feel yucky, but finally had to get up for abit, got tired of laying down.

Aunt B. the one si have in the Gh are about 2 maybe 2 and half feet tall. They young but have good root systems on them. Do I need to bring them in still?

Hope nobody minds recycled wrapping paper. Did not feel well enough to drive to town to get a roll. trying to wrp, I realized why I do not volunteer to help wrap Christmas gifts for those charities that do. I gotta be the worstest wrapper there is. ; )

Good Morning.. thanks for the coffee and the cobbler, too, Kim, sounds and looks like you had a busy day/night... I slept like a rock, only woke up once with a not so cool, power surge. lol Star you are in zone 8, if the root ball is well developed, even if you lose top growth from frost (I think you get frost down there), they should come back.. Course, if they were able to be toted in, in a frost warning, I'd probably do it but yours are probably in the ground.. Sorry bout the headache Karen, you enjoy your precious family and all the festivities surrounding the holiday! My sis is coming by today for a visit and we're planning our dishes to take to our family get together on Thursday. We're in charge of the vegetables and salads, it will be a fun day with my fav sis. She is my best friend, too.

Good morning all. I woke up to a power outage. They just got it back on. Seems there was a substation down in a nearby town. I washed a load of clothes last night so with no power this morning there was nothing to do but hang them on the line. I had planned on waiting a little later to do it when it warmed up a bit but there was nothing else to do with the power down (translation no computer) so I went ahead and took care of them. Thought I was going to freeze my fingers off in the process. It would have to be a load of socks! They take forever to get all hung up.
I am seeing new green growth on some of my brugs. Most are still just sticks but some have new growth. It is exciting to see while I have to watch so much of nature going into slumberland.

Good morning HBAs. Just got finished with a shift and got to get busy cooking because I'm catering gumbo tonight and then need to get baking for Thanksgiving. We did finally get our first real-deal frost Friday, but the Puppy Love lost some leaves, and is still holding those little buds. My impatiens right next to it definitely froze, but the Puppy Love and one of my passionflowers are still budding. Weird, huh??

Kim, I wish we lived closer, I would definitely be ordering from your "bakery!"

Some of my sticks in the moss look like dead dried twigs above the moss but I am seeing the beginnings of new growth peeking out from beneath the moss. How exciting. I was thinking I may have lost them. Never give up... you don't know for sure what is happening below that amazing moss! These brugs sure have a determination to live ... a love of life. I have discovered there are definitely some types that just do not do well in water.... put them in moss. I have a NOID white of my mothers.... so far have not had one root in water ... but seems they like to be put in moss... I hope! I have no idea how I managed to root that first one 3 winters ago! It was my very first brug cutting... was a big thick one I think... dumb luck I guess.

I have to get these ornaments finished and in the mail.. they will be going out on monday morning... I promise... with about 5 other packages of things that have to be done. Getting sick is not the way to get things done around here!

Power went out again. It was out another two hours. Just came back. I am glad 'cause I was getting thirsty. I have a well and the pump runs on electricity. Like an idiot I was outdoors carrying and splitting wood. Between working and inhaling sawdust off the logs I got mighty thirsty and never gave a thought about not being able to get a drink. I have rehydrated and filled some bottle with water. I hope they are done fixing things. I only had a small fire in the stove. Without a way to run the fan to move the air I did not want a lot of heat building up against the wall.
Fans are going now and it is warming up in here.
I never give up on a plant. I always drove my kids nuts. They would tell me to throw the dead stick out but all too often if given enough time and care a tiny bit of green will come back. Preservation of the species is a strong instinct to many things on earth.

Tammy, don't make yourself sicker, sweetie. Do what you can and then take care of yourself. Kathy, those power outages are no fun. Any time of year. On never giving up on a plant, the RU I went to in Dallas, I came home with two sticks stuck in a pot and Keith (my husband) said that's an "elvis plant." Huh? Deader than Elvis, was his reply. Well, since I got it from a DGer and did not want to give up on it, I put it out in the garage/"make believe" green house. Those two sticks are leafing out like crazy, and now he's saying "Elvis is alive." I also do my best not to give up on a plant, but I do get sideline comments from hubby. TTYL

I lost y'all again! I got a Birthday present from Melissa on MSN thread today! Lots of goodies! Got a card Thurs., and a pressy last week! I'm doin' good!

Went out earlier to see if ol man frost helped my plants to bite the dust! So glad the weather man was wrong!! I even found another brug that is only about 1' tall with 3 buds on it!! It was sooo small I never really checked it thinking NO WAY... well yes way!! These brugs just amaze me!!

Morning sleepyheads. Actually a good mornign to still be tucked away under the covers snoozing. Wish I could do it. Been up for awhile, Got coffee with banana and sliced boiled egg and mayo sandwhiches this morning. May sound gross, but tastes good going down.

Lugged in several bads of dirt yesterday knowing they woudl bef roze this morning, so hoping to get some transplanting done.

At least it supposed to warm up a smidgen today and tonight. Hope it keeps right on moving up too. Need to get out and try and get the leaves off the gh today too, the top of it has so many on it that no way the sun can shine through. The trick is not getting the leave off, but trying to keep from losing my balance. I get me a stack of crates and get to swining the broom around and get so busy that I forget and take one of them air steps and down I usually go. Glad leaves are cushiony. : )

Morning Ella! My Jerry's favorite sandwich is sliced bananas and mayonaisse! Gross! I'll leave that "delicacy" to you too! I'll just have coffee this morning, thank you!

My Brug cuttings are all taking off in their pots by leaps and bounds. I bought the book Brugmansia and Datura by Ulrike and Hans-Georg Preissel and have sat spell bound reading all the wonderful information and beautiful pictures of Brugs.. My daughter works and Barnes & Nobles so I was able to get a beautiful hardbook for paperback price. It's a treasure to keep.

Up this morning early before the house arises, guess I'd better get busy with chores. Have a great day everyone!

Morning everyone. I am up and feeling much better than yesterday. I just took too many pain pills too close together, and wham! They hit me like a rock. So I just went back to bad and slept it off.
I went out to check my brugs this morning, and I have 6 of the Pink velvets in bloom, one beautiful yellow one, and JanLynn's pink insignis all in bloom. SOOOOOO pretty to go out to the garden and have all those surprises waiting for you!
Thans to each and everyone of you that have passed along the cuttings, to make other sisters very happy! Next year I can do the same I hope? I will get pictures later.

Karen, I like banana sandwiches, too! I slice them lengthwise now, it's easier to keep them from sliding off the bread! My daughter just takes the whole banana and sticks in down into the jar and eats it!

LOL, Audrey! Sounds yucky to me, but I know ya'll love it! I had an ex that wouldn't eat pizza without ranch dressing poured onto it. Funny how different people's tastes are. I neve realized how lonely it would be without all the children in the home.. made me and Duke a pnut butter and honey toast sandwich after reading about sandwiches, no naners in the house, I hate mayo LOL ..
