One thing, you aren't 'gabbers' when you are crafting..lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

once you've glued it to the center of the santa face just under the beard I took the other long braid and cut it in half not width wise but length wise in order to create the sides of the center beard..

Glue just down from the toupe

Lolol!! Ain't that the truth!!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm beginning to get the hang of this hair! You have to twist it a little!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Let me know if you are running into problems or if you want me to continue?

Judy's out eating those goodies she had on the table...

Victoria Harbour, ON

If you pull down a little on the braid Audrey, it is easier

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I found that out!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Don't know the last time I stayed in my jammies...when Greg gets here he'll surely want to take me to emerge..lol

Snowing outside this window..not finished decorating this little tree!!!

Once my day is almost over, the 4th will get done..think I like Christmas??? lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Must tell you when we put those pieces on the santa he'll so look like a high court judge..lol

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I love Christmas, too, Betty! Wish I had more room to decorate, and money to do it with!

Glenview, IL

LOL, No I am here, Concetrating hard...Robe is done just got top hair in place.

Betty...Alright, You know had a real big time with the first beard. Do I want to put it in two separate pieces??
Or just the one long and then separate?
Also how did everyone make there Beards so nice and fluffy with getting furry...

Oh Jaye, Love your material!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

OMG!!! We've transformed our Metro Santa to an honorable one!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

He he he.. remember me telling you about that quirky piece, Judy?
It's cute!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hope my batteries last a few more photo's..lol
back to the red one.

Covered him so that no glue ruin his robe

Judy, at first you will take the 12" braid I send you, cut 1" off of it (this will be his toupe-top of his head) as you can see in the above photo, then you have 11" left, fold it in half and cut..you now you have 2 approx. 5 1/2 inch pieces right...now start unravelling..the fullness comes later..

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, are we supposed to glue the ball on? Mine keeps turning around!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Sorry I'm late I know y'all started an hour ago or so.
I started workin on one last night when my machine decided not to play nice so had to switch over toe hem tape to get the hems on the material I was using.

will this one do for my second one??

Audrey I put a bit of glue on the top of the nail before I put my head on and it seemed to help keep it in place

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Phyll, that's gorgeous! I think I'll make an outer one from the thin shiny stuff I have, since Mine's not full enough!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Jeeeez Phyllis.. are you sure you didn't get that from Michael's?
Absolutely gorgeous!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yes I add some glue so that it secures the head..some of the girls that did them waited just before they put the hood on so they could decide if they wanted him looking directly in front or on the side..your preference..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Greg just left for town, just took a few minutes to do what I had intended, of course got the what for , for wearing just my shoes as I took a bad fall last year about this time..then he came inside..he is SOOOO like his dad, wanted to know if I had enough trees??? already 3 put up...cute..doing some errands for me and will be back in an hour or so..couldn't put the big outside tree up because the metal couch rocker is still outside and I needed help getting it put away for winter..sooo..he'll help..

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG goodness Phyllis, did I really send everyone the same kit? hard to believe, you are such a creative bunch..am hoping when all is said and done, no one will be disappointed...

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

OK, got the beard on! Next!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

trying to get to the next step but someone wants to play with the beard...

just a couple of secs...got behind with Greg and then Missy..

Victoria Harbour, ON

beard done, do you mean unravelled or glued to santa?
if glued did you put his mustache on..

I took a strand of the braid, smaller piece maybe 1" long,
put a dab of glue under the nose and a bit on the painted moustache and attached the piece that I stretch out holding on the it with both hand and just let it adhere to the glue..watch those fingers..don't want another ouch..

one sec..

Crissy, missing you

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

LOL thanks girls I try and no Jaye the only stuff I got at Michael's was a rotary cutter and pad LOL
Everything else came from either Hobby Lobby or wally world.

if ya are real daring I took small pieces of the hair and put it on his eye brows too used just the lil bit that drips out and smeared it on the painted brow then put the hair on it and pushed it into the glue then trimmed gently with scissors ....fingernails or tweezers work good to do it LOL

has a metalic sheen to it doesn't it?

Nice touch

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

He he he... I dislocated one of Metro Santa's hands.. and now it's limp!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Oohhh! You are all having so much fun!!! Will check in occasionally as I get a break.....I will have to work on Santa tonight and tomorrow as I have 10 people showing up at around five this evening for a business meeting and potluck dinner! Oh bother.....I want to make my Santa!!!

Jaye I love the Metro, will make sure Laura drops by for a peek she will love the colors!!!

Well Audre, we can dream can't we....I could be perfectly happy with Christmas decor year round......of course if we did that we probably wouldn't like it as much after a while would we??

Victoria Harbour, ON

just try to fish for the wire through the gown, hold the hand and try to re-insert...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Jaye, I won't say a word....ROFL!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

If you notice in the photo above, his beard looks awfully thin... so on to the next step..

Got 'er dun!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I forgot to mention I also cut the beard to desired length and that's entirely up to you..the underneath section I glued after lifting my first row was from the cut piece..

I've been asked where I got the wave..not sure I have the address here but if not will give it to you so that you can order more..better to have one santa with full beard than 2 not looking as healthy right?

Now before I go onto doing finishing steps to the beard I put the hood on...

One sec.please...

OMG staying in JAMMIES is so much fun!
