Here's the exact opposite of David's garden. But I am picking tomatoes, cukes, peppers, and Roma beans. Still to come (I hope) ... potatoes, corn, watermelon. And I have garlic out in the herb garden.

Eeewwwwwww!
Nice to see all of the great pictures. Outstanding collection of our flying friends. Victor your intimacy with your garden insects is starting to worry me. I assume you will be wearing a bee suit for Halloween. We have some nice orange pumpkins already.
Welcome back grampapa, your roses are beautiful. Especially love 'Rainbow Niagara' . I am intrigued by the picture of the okra that you are growing as an ornamental. I will have to check on them. I do love pickled okra. Could be a fun addition to my so called herb beds. I love the Park's Candy lily. Mine have been a great addition too.
ge1836, too funny about your visitor in your ensata order. After our guest left a dinner party we had last night, DH found a much smaller one, but still a very noticeable one on a fine bottle of wine we were serving outside with appetizers. I think it must have gone unnoticed as no one screamed. Or maybe they were already over served.
Here is 'Ryanne' from Buggy Crazy. She must be victor's friend.
Patti your slug was probably overlooked if you were serving those little coctail weeners.
Mine was in the mulch I mixed for planting medium.
Ha, No wieners, but some Soppressata and goat cheeses. We did a big BBQ. A couple racks of baby backs, a smoked turkey, fried green tomato's with buttermilk and herbs dressing, tater salad, spicy cucumber salad, green beans, and farm corn on the cob and Corn bread(Dinosaur BBQ recipe). Plus our guests brought a lemon pie and berries. Moving kind of slow today. I was very excited to have so much from the garden to bring to the meal including the slug. ugh.

I'll make notes on your menu, sounds fantastic. How many people do you feed at a event like that?
Sorry I missed it.
OHHHH Patti
I see a painting
OK Bev.
I think the one I bought from Bluestone has roots.
I can't remember.
I plan to put them all together in one spot.
The garden is getting crowded.
Ribindog comes the 19 or 20 with more plants.
Guess my next years purchases wont be so big as I thought.
Small group last night, 7. But a couple of 20 something hungry lads in the group. Sorry to not have had our DS home this summer. He would have cooked most of it and it would have been even better. Though DH is pretty amazing with the smoker. I used the recipe for the tomatoes and buttermilk dressing found in the The Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook. Pretty fine. I also made sweet tea with mint as an homage to the meal. More beer and wine was drunk.
The Turkey was a small one. We have left overs as planned. Minimal cooking for a couple of days. DH is leaving for a week for the west coast and the Senior National rowing regatta. I will be happy with the extra turkey. My favorite.
Another shot of our buddy. Patti
You cook the way I do/
I still make a casserole that serves six and freeze some and eat the rest all week. Can't stop gardening to fix food.
Instituted this when I had a pottery business, noew that I still cook for just me things havn't changed.
