Congrats on the new acquisitions Thom. Just remember boys...nothin' but fat pads (unless they are silicone based). :)

Well there is a boulders thread...

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

You need more than a thread for boulders.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

I can't keep up with you guys.
No Matter how hard I try to give the extras away, there are always some homeless Dahlia tubers.
I shot this poor 'Bishops Children' discard yesterday on it's way to the compost bin. It's sporting a flower bud in a last gasp.

Can't believe the names of those hosta! Love the insect photos, Victor--can't image getting closeups like that--especially the bee--I would have been running & swatting at the same time! Spent yest . at the farm babysitting, & they all came here for dinner tonight--I am Beat! Here's a late blooming hosta I took a few days ago----no time to shoot today!

Is that Gold Standard? I caught a bee going from one flower to the next.

Thanks, Robin. Being allergic to bees makes it a bit more challenging! I just move very slowly. I had a bumblebee actually brush my head as he flew by the other day. Was weird.

Dang..... this was way too funny today folks.... at least every since the hostas. Folks around me were wondering what in the world I was laughing at.

Sharran, I love that Hymenocallis caroliniana, and whichever squirrel you end up thanking in whatever language.

Victor, the bee and the mantis are amazing. The mantis looks like an alian to me.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Thanks, chic, I love it too, but the squirrel speaks French, I think. Was talking with him today and he said something about la petite fleur....but that's about all I understood...

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Victor last week a chipee bird clocked me in the side of the head... I was stunned for a moment

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

That's far more than I would understand from a squirrel sharran, sounds like you and it have a connection.

Onewish, a bird actually hit you? or am I missing something here?

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

just a pic to get going this morning.

What a great way to start the morning. That blue is beautiful! Does it have a name?

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Holy cow - It took me 4 threads to catch up! You all have been very busy. The photos are amazing. Victor, I'm lovin' your new camera!! What is it again and what lens are you using?

I need a second cup of coffee now and will take the camera out for some new pics.

Quoting:

I was thought the same thing!

Just one blossom today
Coleus Fright Night
I am underwhelmed with this plant.
Not as showy as I hoped.
Maybe a companion to something else.
Suppoase to trail but this one - - not so much.

Really great shots and comments on this thread, I just got here today and haven’t had time for finish viewing 29. I need to catch up.

All the rain is not paying off. I will step on this one.

You're right schicken! I did accidentally quote you! I bet that I had been reading the thread to catch up and your quote probably put the thought in my head and then I didn't think any more of it. But, I agree... it does look like an alien!

Hey Velnita. Well to answer you question, it's Yes and No, unfortunately. It's a Delphinium Pacific Hybrid Mix (or series). Which, sorry if you know this, the pacific hybrids are generally tall and two tone blues and purples. Many places sell the series broken down into their different color strains and individual names. But, this was a cheapy that I probably picked up at some "mart" place. you can get packets of seeds of the pacific hybrid mix.... if you're lucky enough to be good at growing seeds! Unlike me! :-p

Thanks. I was just looking at those last night. I'm gonna look a little further now.

Since this thread is for pix, I'll add one too.

First bloom on my Datura

Hi, all. I thought I'd stop by, since it's been forever and nobody will be bored by my pics.

Donna, that datura is absolutely stunning! I never got around to planting my seeds :(

Gorgeous b'fly pics, velnita and dragonfly. I have a few more butterflies in my garden this year, thanks to additional plantings of their favorites, but not as many as I'd like.

schicken, too bad about your tomato. hope you don't have too many like that. my biggest problem is always blossom end rot. I grow in containers and got a tip to add Tums to the water for extra calcium. tried it and it seems to be helping.

'Frans Hals', an oldie but a goodie

I can't wait to see what Anita comes back with. She's either still drinking her 2nd cup of coffee, or still in the garden with the camera since 7am. should we worry? LOL ~ Hi, Anita

I had given up on these Calladium that I planted in the Spring. Just broke ground a few weeks ago. Here's Gingerland.

When do the pickers arrive from the canning factory.lol

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Soon I hope....lol...

It's out of control and I was determined that would not happen this year. You can't see them but there are eggplants in that mess. So many I'm going to start tearing out plants.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Great shots of the traveling bee and bright blue delph, even the now squished tomato has nice color, short coleus is well named I think too, love the Datura with nice deep color, butterflies are gorgeous everyone, CF and lily Black Beauty two of my favs. That dark leaf of the caladium is very intense, I like that a lot. And David-Paul you may have over done it just a little, but not such a bad problem to have really. :)

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

ngam...the theory was a row of dahlias would hide the vegetable garden. Yeah right. Wondering now if tomato biomass can be distilled into biofuel.

Thomaston, CT

Anything to help with CT gas prices! Loved that dahlia, & the rest of the shots---Dragonfly--I'm not sure what that hosta is--the leaf margin is gray. Here is PeeGee hydrangea gone wild!
