JoAnne, is it a tropical?
I got this DL free with a subscription when I joined AHS. it's 'Late Glory' and it's almost as big as my hand
Gardening Photos - Part 30
Grampapa My fern is in part to mostly shade and it was a big plant to begin with.
When I bought the Hybiscus it said annual.
I believe its a form of hybiscus but not a blooming one.
My garden is new and I wanted to see how that color and size looked in that spot.
It's planted in front and close to a first year ligularia so I would move it if it was a perenn.
It has such great color and when the morning sun comes thru those leaves its a concert with the Autumn fern.
Those are beautiful plants.I just planted David this week.
Looks great with yellow lilies and cones
JoAnne: Just dig it up and keep it in the (green?)house. Or .... late summer take a slip and start rooting one on the window sill for next year? The Autumn Fern looks great!
Grandpapa: The Cuban Oregano is not hardy here, no. I keep it as a hanging basket, in a sense, as it drapes over the the edge of the huge planter the schefflera is in.
I got the hibiscus a Majewski's for $9.99 (5? gallon shrub pot) .... they probably still have some, maybe even cheaper. Go on Wednesday and everything is an additional 10% off.
WOW! HUGE clap of lightning followed by torrents!! Clear and no rain just seconds ago! That was F-A-
S-T Fast!
My Double DL, I find out, is actually called Triple Kwanso, Thanks again, BEV!
Here's my Ligularia dentata 'Britt Marie Crawford' starting to bloom out.

Lots of lovely pics this am again. Very pretty everyone.
Now that I look at your Britt Marie I think thats what mine is.
The blooms come from the place where two leaves come off the stem.
I also have Desdemona but its a first year planted somewhere else, no blooms yet.Gets more shade.
I will try your rooting idea and will mulch the plant to see if it returnes. It has more tender stems than a shrub.
It was id'd earlier in June as a form of Hybiscus the name on the tag was "Height Ashburry"
I learn something new everyday on Daves Garden.
I am no Ligularia expert, but doesn't desdemona have greener leaves and Britt Marie have more burgundian colored leaves.
(Woo hoo .... another opportunity to use a big word I learned in college; makes the whole ordeal kind of worthwhile, eh?)
:-)
There is a difference between the shapes of the leaves.
DD'S Has a pointy tip
My Desdemona(labled from Bluestone)
Has rounder leaves but both are the same color green.
My girlfriend has one with tall spik yellow flowers and dark red leaves.
Here is a comparison
So DD#3'S is Britt Marie

I have no clue either, and just learned the difference between Britt Marie and Desdemona.
I really want those huge plants with big green-red leaves so pointy or smooth it doesn't matter.
My friends long tapered blossomed one is stunning. I'll try to find a pic so you can see.
Your pics are fantastic.Any long shots of the lily beds?
Rocket with companions?
Just my prefrence dont break your neck.
I definatly want the rocket. Might have to expand my shade garden.
Can Rocket take some sun?
