Stop and visit, talk all you want. pt 23 I think

(Zone 7a)

Wow! Everyone had fun, sounds like. Mostly, anyway...

We saw Hancock, too! I just loved it. We've been quoting it all week. Saw Ironman not too long ago. THAT was loads of fun, as well.

Well...the new carpet goes in Tuesday. Yea!!! And the new furniture comes on Wednesday! Yea, again!

We get doves on the the fence sometimes. They're so lovely...

I love doves! It sounds like everyone had a good 4th! Awseome!

So check this out ya'll! Uncle Roy went outside this evening to talk on the phone and heard this fight between a few people, so he called me outside and it was my next door neighbors, who are awseome neighbors, and this slum lord "cleaning" up her rental trailer. This is a double wide that druggies just moved out of. It has algae growing up the front, the front porch is about to fall, there is dog fecies of both kinds everywhere, dirty diapers everywhere, used condoms everywhere, mold growing half way up all the interior walls, only one bathroom works, a few broken windows and this woman has a "For Rent" sign on it. The houses around me are all kept up except for this one. They were yelling and cussing each other, something about stealing a gate and some competition of who's house is paid off and whose isn't, so I went back in, told Dave about it, he ate dinner real fast and went out there to get the scoop. I followed by about 5 minutes. The lady isn't wrong, neighbor on the other side of my next door neighbor's house was sneaking around the back of this thing to get an old chain link gate that's been laying in the grass for who knows how long. When he was carrying it out of the driveway she pulled up :-o Very stupid on his part. I've decided I'm going to call the county and find out what I can do to stop her from renting this out again, all that is going to attract is homeless thieves or more druggies, or both. This is a very nice street and this woman is going to distroy it, let alone dropping our property values.

Here's my remaining sunflowers!

Not fair! My new couch doesn't come until Fri!

I have been running around all day long. I'm beat. I found these chair pads for the chairs outside. The chairs are the metal kind that go with the table on the back porch. Anyway, Menards only had 2. I need 4. So I had the guy write down the 2 closest numbers for me of Menards that also show on their computer, as having 2. I called Peoria this morning. That guy could find 1. O.k. Let me call Washington. I call there. That guy over there can't find any. He looks on the computer and sure enough, it says he's got 2. But they aren't there. Don't ya love it? So we drove all the way to Peoria to get 1 chair pad. But then when I put those 2 on there yesterday, I told John they don't go with the umbrella (that's broke anyway). So we bought a new umbrella and a stand too. My stand doesn't have the thingy you turn to tighten the umbrella in there, that's why it likes to catapult into the yard, hence 2 have broken. Both umbrellas were given to me as was the stand. Can't be too ticked that my free items don't work or got broke! ROFL

Then I had to go to the bank. What should of been an easy in out and out, turned out to be not so easy. I had to leave bank 1 and drive to bank 2, who had issued me a cashiers check last Sat. But because of fraud and all that jazz, bank 1 wouldn't allow me any access (for a week to 10 days) if deposited into a new account, except 100 bucks. Not my money, it's my BIL's money and we're going shopping either Fri. or Sat. And he needs money! So to bank 2 I go for them to cash the cashier check issued by them. Easy, right? Wrong! Good grief. I'm surprised they didn't want my blood to run my DNA! Jeepers. Finally after AN HOUR, they cashed their own dang check. Back to bank 1, who's now locked up tight. Thank goodness I had already talked to my guy at bank 1 and told him it might not be a quick trip. Ya never know. He was waiting. I had to call him and I said "I'm heeere!"..lol..and he came and opened the door up for me. Then it was me signing paper after paper and then I had to take papers to my BIL for him to sign when I was all done. I started off with banking at 2:30pm and wasn't done with banking until 5pm!! I got it done though. Didn't have to stomp my feet all that hard either! And no, it didn't take FOREVER because I like to talk! ROFL! From there, I went right to my BIL's house. He was eating and getting really mad at me, because of how I set the account up. It's not a bad way, it's just not with only an ATM card like he's used to. And his mind was made up. So I went outside, his BP was getting awfully high there and he sure wasn't eating! When he was done, I went back in and explained again. Told him he had his mind made up about how I'd made the account, but he needed to listen to me. Then he got it. Of course then, he wants to talk to me, in private, but of course. So we both go outside. They're bugging him to cut his mustache off--LOL--and he's had the darn thing since he was 16. He's going to be 50 on the 14th! That thing's old! LOL I told him he should! He about fell over, he thought for sure I'd side with them. I'm honestly not a big fan of 'stashes and all that get stuck in them. Especially with him. When I tell the staff, none of them would touch it! He tells me that Chad will do it, when he comes back to work on Thurs. whine whine. So---I leave and I go directly to Chad's house and---before we went to Jim's, Chad wanted to show me the house he and his girlfriend will close on this Fri. I've got some serious gardening to do over there! Told Chad too! LOL First is the chain saw and off with the Norway maple in the front yard. Chad's already told me he wants my yard, its look, so that Norway has to go. I had 1 here too. And it's gone bye bye. There was a barberry (invasive in the state of IL) still in a pot and I told him not to dare plant that thing. I'd just dig it up if he did anyway, so what's the point?!! I always have fun with Chad. He's a riot. Doesn't hurt he's so darn good looking to boot! Tall, thin...bad boy look. Not like my hubby at all! That's what makes joking with him so darn fun! His girlfriend had the cutest little girl a few months back. She's got Chad's big blue eyes. Bald like him too. LOL---then we went to Jim's!! That 'stashe is now gone, and I swear, Jim looks more like 35 than almost 50! What a difference. It was about 9pm when I dropped him off back at his house. I hadn't even seen Phyllis yet. Visiting hours end at 8pm. Oh yea? says me, so off I go to the nursing home. Visited with her for an hour, then finally came home. Now it's after 11pm and I really need to find my bed!!

End of story--ROFLMAO!! And no pep, I'm still not going to write a book!!

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Jeepers! ROFL! Crissy posts twice while I'm typing!!

Now I know I need to find my bed!!

Night all!!

(Zone 7a)

That's an awesome story, Terry!!! LOL You can write your novel here. We don't mind. You have a good night now.

My new lens came for the camera I love it!

This is the far shot...

(Zone 7a)

And the closer shot. It's going to be great for close-ups!

Crissy, your sunflowers are very pretty. And it looks like your front porch garden is filling out. Can we see the rest? Nasty neighbors are the worst!!! I can attest to that! The ones across the street are the same way. They've got the poor people who live next to them moving out!

Thumbnail by kwanjin
(Zone 7a)

I didn't have the vibration mode on, that's why it's a little blurry on the second one.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Nice pics Celia! I love that lamp. There are no other pictures to take, unless you want to see the grape vines again. That's all I have this year. When I get home this evening I'm going to take a picture of the border I thought I wanted to use, but it's too short :-(

Here's a picture of the "problem child." My neighbors get a little wild and dumb sometimes, but they are in their early to mid 20's. I remember doing that stupid kind of crap at that age. LOL

Terry, you busy busy girl! I can't stand banks for that, then trying to explain everything to someone else is another trick! That's cool you had someone waiting for you to let you in, I never have that happen.

Uncle Roy goes home today, he'll probably leave the house around noon.

(Zone 7a)

Hmmm....looks like a good place for covert ops. Heh heh heh

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Apparently it's on 7 acres. Some of my neighbors have given this woman some good offers for a purchase and she refuses to sell it. Can you believe she rents this for $450.00 a month??!! She just doesn't care, I wonder what her personal house looks like.

(Zone 7a)

Eeeew...I don't want to know.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Love the trees and like the color of the deck. Those are the only nice things I can say as far as appearances. But I can also see that the property has good bones. Your best bet for cleaning the place up is Health Dept. If that doesn't work then try the police. If all of you complain then they will have to do something. Especially if you nag alot. LOL.

My next door neighbor is a bit trashy too but she's making her boys clean it up and it's looking better. It will look great if someone comes and hauls her RV away along with the junk in there and the van she has. The van can't go anywhere though unless a big enough truck with strong enough chains can get it out. They tried it once with a regular sized pickup and they couldn't move it far.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

You know, I think every neighborhood at some point, has some neighbors that don't have the "pride of ownership" that we all feel. I know right here, my next door neighbors house sure could use some help. The house right across the street, sure could use some TLC and then 2 doors down from that one, is a cute little rental house, that went for over $750 2 people ago. Not sure what it's at now. But man, does it ever need some TLC. I just don't get it. I never have. Some houses are just gorgeous and others just need a little bit of help. Like paint. Paint goes such a long way. A new roof. Easy things. I do have to disagree with pepper though. That blue paint is atrocious!! I used stripper on this back deck/porch and got it down to the wood. That's all that deck needs too. And then some good stain. TLC is really about all I see that will go along way.

Crissy, this is a small town and I grew up here, born and raised. The guy helping me simply looked at my koozie with my families business name on it, and my dad is on the banks board of directors. Light bulb moment for him--LOL Then it really helped when my dad just happened to call me while I was talking to the bank guy and my dad wanted to talk to him and of course, I passed the phone to him☺ Clout. You gotta love it..LOL

O.k. So you all ready for this? We drive a 2 hour round trip to Peoria and get an umbrella and stand yesterday morning into early afternoon, right? Didn't have time yesterday to set it up. So, we start on it this morning. The center piece on the stand, where it holds the umbrella, extends up about 17" or so. Way too tall for my table. THEN, John gets the umbrella out and the dang pole doesn't have the little metal button to lock the 2 poles together. grrrrr Now mind you, Peoria has a higher tax rate than here or over in Peru at the other Menards, but if we're just exchanging, no harm no foul. They don't have another shorter style stand though. They do have another umbrella and yes, we opened the box to make sure the thing had the button. It would cost us more in gas to drive back down to Peoria to return the stand, so we went ahead and returned it there. We didn't get it all back though, Peoria gets to keep it's city tax. Just for the heck of it, I went ahead and got a new, but black, table too (stand wouldn't work for it either!). My BIL's house needs a new table, so they can have our old one. I think I'll paint it black though first. I'm back in the spray painting mode. I primed the cold air vent today (pray I don't fall in like I have a tendency to do when the cold air vents are off). Tomorrow I'll flip it and prime the back. Taking a long time to dry, the humidity is so high. I want it painted flat black, like it's supposed to be in an old house and like all the other ones are. Except the vent in the dining room. It's painted brown also. So it's next. Then the umbrella stand we already have will be painted black, then the chairs we have and the old table. Right now, those are all are the dark green. I never have a "honey do list", I have a "Terry do list"! My honey doesn't like to spray paint and strip, stain, poly, things the way I do☺

We're finally getting some rain. Most goes north of us or skirts around us. Yesterday morning we had 2/10s of an inch. Over the night we got an additional 8/10s". Finally. The ground is starting to get huge cracks in it!

Celia, girl, I can't find those shorts anywhere!! I'm getting really annoyed. We take my BIL Jim shopping either Fri. or Sat., so I'm going to look at a larger mall where we're going. Hopefully somebody has them. Of course it's time for all the new fall clothes to be arriving. Doesn't matter it's 90+º outside, we must buy our fall clothes!!

Cubbies are on! 7 to 1, Cubs over the Reds. Gooooooooo Cubs!!!!!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

The problem is, is that's a mobile home, and it's not on a foundation. When people let their mobiles get run down like this one is, it's hardly worth restoring them. Sometimes it can't be restored. There's always one bad apple on the block, I think it's time for this one that has rotted to be thrown away. The problem with the blue paint is it's used in the wrong way. You put that on a house with white trim, that would be gorgeous. It doesn't belong on a run down trailer. The only way to get mold out of sheetrock is to replace it, painting doesn't stop mold spores from spreading. The flooring is soft, like the wood under the carpet and linoleum got wet, but with 4 pit bulls peeing on it all the time I guess it would, and that smell would be entirely too hard to get out. It smells in there so bad words can't describe, worse than dying flesh. I'll call the county health department tomorrow morning. What sucks is that old battle ax is going to think Diana called, so she's going to take it out on her and her hubby. The sooner I get to it, the less time she has to "repair" things. There's a side door where the porch is on the left side of the trailer that just swings open and closed, I don't think it latches or locks. I know of about 10 people who have been in it because of that door. It was wide open before the sun went down. I just don't understand.

My mom worked for the police department in the town I grew up in for 33 years, my dad built the police cars, my cousin worked with my mom doing the same job, and my grandfather was the boss for the city tree crew, I know how it is to be taken care of like that LOL

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Wow Crissy!! I didn't realize it was that bad!! I also didn't or couldn't see from the picture, that it wasn't on a foundation. I've seen people work some miracles on trailers (or modulars), but it does take money. I've seen where people have gutted the entire thing and started all over. But it sure wasn't as bad as that one is! Good grief.

I would definitely start calling people and the more people that join in, the better off you're all going to be. Good luck!

I don't understand either. Never have, never will. People don't have to have money to keep things clean. Might be a little rundown if they don't have any money, even for paint, but jeez. So many organizations and churches out there to help. But on a rental, they aren't going to.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Yeah, I like the blue but not on the deck. lol

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone.

Crissy, that poor house really needs someone to hose it off and care for it. Good luck with that. I would start with the Health Dept., too.

Terry, so much trouble over one little umbrella! LOL I'm sorry, I can't help laughing at your story. Do we get pics when you're finished?

I'm with you, Amanda. The property has good bones. I'd give a lot for that property. So much that could be done for it.

Carpet is in! And furniture will come between 9am and 12pm! Yea!

Thumbnail by kwanjin
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL it has the mobile home skirting across the bottom. When I moved here I thought it was a house too, it's sitting on it's wheels. This woman was bragging to David next door that she's got it paid off and yelling at him how much money she has. She lives around the corner in a big brick house! She's just a very bad slum lord. Diana next door told her that if she's got so much money and she thinks Justin, next door to her, is so poor why doesn't she help him out? LOL She didn't have an answer, go figure!

Really Terry, I don't think, well, I know that I wouldn't put that much time into an umbrella, I would have gone to Wal Mart and bought one of those canopy's and put the table under it LOL You Go Girl!

Very pretty Celia!

(Zone 7a)

What a *****, Crissy! (Her, not you! LOL)

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

She is, I've been trying to call the health dept but the line is constantly busy. And I'm still dealing with my broken refrigerator too, someone needs to lift this curse or dark cloud or whatever I have hanging over me. I'm to the point of giving up, just junking the heap and buying a new one, then crying about it.

(Zone 7a)

That might not be a bad idea, Crissy. How old is it?

I will now lift your curse..."Let the spell be broken."

Let me know if it worked or if I have to do something stronger. ;-)

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Good evening girls!! How's everyone doing?

The umbrella was really exactly what I wanted. It's just a bummer we drove all the way to Peoria and didn't buy the lone seat cushion and wait to get to Peru to buy the others. I try to buy as little as possible from Wally World. Can't stand the monopoly of it all. Took big, don't care about the small guys, yadda yadda. I can't tell you how many businesses have shut down here in town since they went with the "super center". What's so "super" about it? Good grief. You need toilet paper, you have to go to the grocery side. You also need tooth paste? Then you have to walk a mile to the other side. Give me Target over Wally World any day!

So anyway☺

Crissy, I agree. A lot could and should be done with that property. It's really a shame she's letting it go to pot the way it is. As for the fridge? I agree with Celia. Most times it's cheaper to just buy a new one. It seems most things are pretty much throw away items anymore. What ever happened to quality material and the craftsman's pride? My husband worked for the number 1 gas stove component manufacturer in the US. Then they moved to TN. And they lost almost every single solitary business that they had. Poor planning and a hurry to move. They are no more. Bankruptcy took care of it. We move home, but the final sale hadn't occurred yet and I need a new gas stove, since I was leaving mine behind in TN. I was scared to death to buy a new one, knowing that the parts for it might of been manufactured down there in TN. John would come home, daily, and tell about the trucks that returned with the products they had sent out. All bad. Where did QC go, I would ask every time. I didn't really need to after I was told there was NO QC down in TN, but I asked that question anyway. I decided that I was waiting for a week-end that he was coming home and he could go with me to the local mom and pop appliance store here in town. And he checked out each valve and made sure it wasn't manufactured in TN. I thought I was safe going with Maytag, since they had lost Maytag after the move. But you never know how long the appliance has been in a warehouse. The parts in ours weren't made by his company though, they were made by the next company, their biggest competitor, who's probably now #1. Just makes a person want to cry.

Celia, that isn't a room where I saw hardwood floors before, is it? Man I hope not! For you anyway...LOL My new couch comes tomorrow. YAH!!! I can't wait! It's exactly the couch I've been looking for for over 10 yrs!! I couldn't find it, until now☺

Someone asked about pictures? Yes, I'll get pictures later. Too dark now LOL I want new curtains for the living room too. Not that these are old, but they're my "settled for" curtains. Couldn't find what I wanted or didn't want to pay the price for the ones I really really wanted, which were 200 bucks a panel and I need 4 of them. Uh-huh. Ain't gonna happen.

My cold air vent is now painted. I'm really disgusted with my cans of spray paint though. I only use Rust-Oleum. This particular can, my first one today, was dropping drops of paint. I kept going over and over it again. I sure hope I got them all. I've used so many cans of Rust-Oleum before and have never had this problem. I'll start on the vent and 2 of the chairs tomorrow.

We're taking Jim (my BIL) shopping on Sat. instead of tomorrow. Couch is coming between noon and 1:30, so it's too late to drive an hour to the mall where we're going. So Sat. works.

And Krista came home today. sigh ☺ Nice to have, and keep, a clean house for a whole darn week!! WOW!! Hardly had to clean today. Only needed to vacuum up the dog hair for the most part. My mom took her to get her hair cut. She's been bugging me and she thinks any old person can do it. Fine. Let any old person do it and see what it looks like. Did anyone, Krista or my mom bother to tell the guy who was doing the cutting, that Krista has very curly hair and to cut with the curl and make sure to put in lots and lots of layers? Oh heck no. That's much too easy! jeez. So now, I have to go and pay somebody else to fix it. Krista is forever finding these haircuts with straight hair and I'm forever telling her that her hair isn't straight! Find one with curly hair. Krista told me it rained all but 3 days while they were there. Man am I glad we canceled our trip this year! But what did they come home to? RAIN!! Poured buckets out there! It started about 4pm and stopped about 6:30pm. We got 2". The plants should really be happy now! I think we're still under the thunderstorm watch, it's till 10:00pm. Or it was anyway. Tomorrow is supposed to be isolated and then a higher chance of rain on Sat. Of course, since we're taking a guy in a wheelchair shopping! LOL

Oh gosh, yesterday I was running. I had to go over to Phyllis' house and talk to "my" tree guy about the tree in her front yard. Stacy dug it up from the timber back about '85. It's a Quaking Aspen. He said and I quote "I've NEVER seen an Aspen tree do this so bad in somebody's front yard!!!!". There are surface root suckers everywhere. And I mean everywhere. She has NO grass anymore, just little tiny trees. sigh It's going to cost about 8-9 hundred bucks to cut it down and treat it with Tordon®. He's "hoping" that will finish them all off. They're even in the back yard. It's unbelievable. If only they had listened to me 12 yrs. ago. They wouldn't be in this position now. sigh sigh sigh sigh SIGH!

Then, I did what I told myself I wouldn't NOT do. I walked next door, to "my" house. And I rang the bell. And I said who I was and asked if I could come in. Big grin right here!!! "My" house, is still home. It hasn't changed hardly at all. Sure the furniture isn't mine, but it's still painted exactly as I had it. Best of all, they love it. She said when she walked in, it was like somebody had painted that house for HER!! It ain't honey, that's all ME!! ROFL!! But I still cried like the big baby that I am☺ It's just home. I don't know how to explain the feeling I get from being in that house and seeing it all again. It's home. I was quite dismayed to see in the bathroom though, that somebody, something, damaged the trim right beside the door and the wood light switch cover on that wall. It's like it's been too wet for too long. I don't know. She said it was like that. I also hated the wood hand towel holder that the last owners put in. It's ugly and it sure doesn't match the one I put in there. What ch'ya gonna do? Cry is what I did. Then we went outside. And it was there that I found out that all about it that I hate, that I thought they had done, they didn't do (except SOME of the pruning). Louie, the man who bought it from us (he and his wife Barb), did it! My poor Japanese maple.;( Louie pruned it to be a standard and it looks awful. Worse up close than from standing at the fence as I did the last time. Dave is the new man of the house, and he doesn't know a whole lot about pruning either. So guess what I did?? "I'm available, anytime you're ready". He said he'd definitely call. He thinks or should that be thought?? That you prune 1/3 of a shrub, but that you just cut it about half way down about 1/3! NO! Take OUT about 1/3, all the way down, ya ding dong. Dang dang dang. My poor poor bushes ;( I also told Sue that I'm available anytime she wants to take notes on what's what. She's not sure about a lot of things. She was also dismayed when I told her there had been a false mop cypress of some sort beside the Japanese maple. It just doesn't look quite right now. I think the biggest thing that killed me was hearing him say how he didn't like things (plants) touching each other! What? Say huh? Sp'lain please! It looks so barren without that Weeping Cherry tree in there. He's planted a Rose of Sharon, which won't live here, but oh well. Another funny thing was how much they raised the brick..lol. He's raised it ALL the way up, above or laying on the ground. Uh, made it for easier mowing? Hello? Anybody in there?? I'm awful, I know. It's not "mine", but in my heart, it's always going to be "mine", no matter that I don't own it any more. sigh. What a fight my heart and head are having!! But then I came home. Here. To this grand old lady. And I love her so dearly. She's so awesome and everything I've always wanted, really really wanted, in a house. From all the hardwood floors to the pocket doors, to the claw foot tub to the wide plank pine flooring upstairs, to all the gorgeous original woodwork. She's shining once again. She had gone dull, but she shines again. And then my "new" yard. My gosh. Outside is such beauty. I couldn't ask for anything more or anything better! All the antiques I've acquired over the years, now have the perfect home. It was our first "we own this!!" home. My baby girl didn't come home to this house and she didn't grow up in this house. I think that's why I have such an attachment to "my" old house, it just has so many many memories. I also was thanked for the note that Barb and Louie had left and passed on to them. I left pages and pages. You see how I write, can you imagine a book left by me about everything about the house? From who built it, to who did the plumbing, to who did the air, to who fixed anything, to who and where all the new kitchen, flooring, windows, etc. etc. came from. That was only on the house. Then pages and pages about the (my) yard. I think a lot of those pages were left out from talking to the new owners. They were under the impression that I had had the property totally professionally done. It was listed that way and they were never told otherwise and Barb and Louie sure knew better. If you want to call me a professional, then I suppose it was☺ I'm so bold that I even asked if I might have "my" brick back!! I would of done anything in the world to not have to leave those. We were able to get it from an old abandoned brick yard and they don't make those bricks anymore. How cool to have them here? They'd actually match better here! ROFL! It took 3 trips to get them all. They thought I had hired someone to lay the flagstone. I didn't. I got all that flagstone with a girlfriend. Her and I went thru the huge pile down at the quarry and loaded them into the truck. That took 2 trips for mine and 2 trips for hers. I'm breaking out in song in my head..

Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can dream of the old days
Life was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Jeepers, that sounds depressing! Life is beautiful now and I still know what happiness is☺ Dream of the old days, let the memory live again, that's right. Keeping the memory alive and well in my heart♥

Phyllis is doing pretty good. Hard to breath with all the humidity she thinks, even though she's got her own window air conditioner. It also doesn't help that when they gave her a breathing treatment, they unplugged the oxygen, plugged in the other machine, then forgot to plug her oxygen back in!! Good grief. Complain? Why yes, I sure did!!

Well, I done went and wrote another book for you all..lol. Yes, pepper, I know, I know. Imagine me, live, in person!!

A storms a brewing outside, so I better shut this thing down!

Nigh night all!

(Zone 7a)

Boy, Terry. After reading a new chapter, I understand how you connect with things. I understand what you mean about them being "mine". When/If we leave this house, I'll be very sad. All the things we've done and the plants I've babied.

I was going to ask about Phyllis. Glad she's better but my goodness, leaving her oxy off? Hrumph...

Have fun at the mall Saturday.

Crissy, what's up with you? Any news on calling the HealthD?

The refer is 8 months old and still in warranty, it's broken twice in it's 8 month life, every 4th month it seems to have problems, that's the problem. Paid over $800.00 last September, I will definitely lose money if I junk it.

I love Target Terry! A lot of people here won't shop at Target because it's owned by the French, also Wal-Mart was founded in AR. Good story too! I don't get attached to things, my grandparents bought a house in 1963, when my grandfather passed in 1997 I inherited it, lived in it until we moved to Arkansas in April 2007 and I had no problem leaving something that was in the family for 45 years, I was more upset about losing the phone # LOL!

The line is busy every time I call! Unfortunately we're short handed here at work so I don't have all day to call, and the office is open the same hours I'm at work ggrrrrrr. I didn't see the blue porch this morning when I was leaving for work, and she was there last night working, maybe she'll clean it up before she rents it. I should advise her to up the rent on it, say $600.00 LOL then she'd never rent it!

They should just replace the fridge. What's wrong with those people?

Tell her to ask too much and she'll get the REAL drug dealers. She needs to sell. I'm sorry, I don't know her and I don't like her already.

Part of the problem is Whirlpool's service, it's horrible. I talked to a service guy who said he would drive out to my house, but he wouldn't turn the cost into the warranty dept because it takes Whirlpool 6 to 9 months to pay them! So either they'll come out but I have to pay for whatever is wrong, or they won't drive out to my house. The guy coming out today is from Hensley, which is an hour away from my house, he said he has to go to Benton this afternoon so he'll just take the 15 to 20 minutes extra to check it out. Service people located in Benton won't drive the 15 to 20 minutes out to my house, it takes 15 to 20 minutes to drive across town, they could be at my house in that amount of time, and use less gas because it's all freeway! Retarded! I won't buy another Whirlpool appliance again simply because of their service. I get more service from Lowes than I do Whirlpool!

LOL I don't like her either and she refuses to sell. I wish I could get through on the health line!! I want to call them before she does fix it!

Poor Crissy. Did my spell lifter not work? Sorry, I'l try something else.

Monty says he doesn't have troubles...

Tiga was acting weird all day. She would be sitting somewhere then jump up, "buck" for a second or two, take off running, then immediately stop and scratch. I thought she was being bit by something so I put Advantage on her, it's been about 1 1/2 months since she's had it. She went outside with me, came inside a little while after I did, then just a little bit ago we were playing on the couch, then I came in here to get on the computer for a little while, and she came up to me all drooling, slobbery, foamy mouth. She seems to be better now, except she's lethargic. I worry about things since she has that intestinal problem.

So the refrigerator guy showed up Friday evening! He ran a very good diagnostic on it and said there's some sort of restriction in the compressor. I asked him about Whirlpool refrigerators, and he said the same thing the other guy did on the phone; he said that he gets the least calls on Whirlpool refrigerators, but when one does break under warranty it is a huge chore getting Whirlpool to replace anything, no matter what part it is. He said we're in for a battle cause I need a new compressor. He's going to try to get me a whole new refrigerator but told me to not hold my breath on that. He also said that since he went screwing around with it, it will probably start working again, which it has, but not to trust it cause it will break again. He advised me that purchasing the extended warranty would be a good idea too. Good Grief.

Monty is such a big fluff ball! Way too cute!

I need to get the camera from my dad and get some pics of Curly and the gardens here at home and at work. lol. Gonna be a chore getting it though!!

Yes, Monty's a fluffball! LOL He's about he lose that fluff, though. We're having him shaved next week. I forgot your furface's name.

Sucks about the warranty. Why can't people just DO what they say they're gonna?

Amanda we'll help in the fight for you.

Here is Monty after we had him shaved last time.

Yes, we will help, I got my dukes up LOL LOL

I don't understand either Celia, the question is, is when it comes time do I buy another Whirlpool because they break the least, or do I buy a different brand because the service is better?

You know, Tiga was asleep dreaming and the paper she had her head on is soaking wet. I'm wondering if she's still drooling a little.

I've recently thought about shaving Tiga, but she has enough problems, I don't want to stress her out.

(Zone 7a)

Isn't Tiga an older kitty, too? You said she's got intestine problems. What are they? Or did you tell me and I forgot?

Morning girls! I don't have enough time right now to list out all the I've done over the last 2 days! Good grief. I like details. When telling what happened, it seems to me that even the smallest of details make it more understandable, then just giving the basics. My sister would highly disagree with me, but hey, I've done it my whole dang life! So, hence my books or short novels when I come here to write LOL

Crissy, I'm not attached to a lot papers or things like that. Junk, basically. I'm an SO not a pack rat. Can't stand that. But those houses and the memories, I'm attached to those. Yes, I know they live on in my heart, but having something tangible to touch or see, just makes it so much better. When my dad and his lone surviving brother had to sell my grandma's house, where she had lived for 50 yrs. and raised 4 kids, I went to the auction they were having. My dad and his brother decided it wasn't fair to let them and all grandkids just come in and chose what they want and walk out. Somebody else might want it too. So it was an auction. And I got there that morning. And all my grandma's worldly possessions were on the lawn. Everything. Front yard and back yard. And I cried. I cried and my dad grabbed me, and I begged him to make these people go away and put grandma's things back. Please daddy please. I'm 38-39 at that time, and just bawling my eyes out. Begging. My dad told me that he couldn't.

In this picture below? See the cuckoo clock over by the built in china cabinet? That was my grandparents. And I love it. I would be so unhappy if I hadn't of "won" the bid on that. There was someone bidding against me, but somebody finally told them that I was the granddaughter and to stop their bidding. They did, and so I won. They handed it to me, tears falling down my face and I went into the house, crying and sobbing. I only wanted grandma to come home. I didn't really want her clock, I wanted grandma, home where she belonged. But it wasn't to be. I knew that in my head, but my heart didn't want to accept what was happening. On my right hand, sits her ruby and diamond ring that she always had me "guard" for her..lol. My mom knew this and so it was given to me after grandma passed away. sigh. Again, I don't want grandma's ring, I want grandma. I know I know, I'm weird, odd, strange.

Phyllis is still having trouble breathing as of last night. I told her youngest son, because I'm WORRIED. So he came on Sat. In the morning!!! She doesn't struggle in the morning, she struggles about supper time! So fine, just let me handle this. Then, get a load of this. They want the tree in the front yard to come down, right? So I get a hold of my tree guy. He's waiting for me to call and tell him to cut it down. This son wanted the phone number, so he could talk to him. At the time I called, I was in Phyllis' room. I didn't have Dave's (tree guy) phone number. Youngest son tells Phyllis on Sat. that if he's writing the check, he should be allowed to talk to Dave!! Umm..excuse me. Writing a check out of WHO'S account??? Jeez. If he called Dave, Dave wouldn't know who the heck he was. He's got my name and her address down. Not Phyllis' name or any of her kids names down, MY name along with HER address. I know Dave. He wouldn't connect the dots. What difference does it make anyway? But fine fine, I'll give Dave the youngest sons phone number. Now if Dave chooses to call or not, isn't any of my concern!! LOL

And I really really need to get off here and start doing what I need to do!!

Terry, I now EXACTLY what you mean about your grandma! It doesn't matter how old you get, it still hurts. Your feeling don't go away. Give us as many details as you need to get you story across. We don't mind, do we, girls? I love reading, that's why I spend so much time here! LOL I'm not shy about telling MY stories!

Get what you need to get done and we'll talk later. BYE!!!!!

Yea, Tiga's 12. Her intestines don't process the food through like they should. The food will just sit in her stomach until she finally pukes it up, won't digest or anything. It's really weird. I don't know if I told you or not, I don't remember LOL Dang Alzheimers!

Well, I'd rather have won something of my grandparents through an auction, although that's really crappy, then have the stuff given to an evil aunt who hates me with a purple passion by a stupid judge. This "judge" gave her everything, but he couldn't give her the house cause my name was on the deed. She cleaned me out, took the beds and everything. I got a few items back. She picked her nose and put snot all over my dishes, I caught her doing it, then she called me a B! OK! If I'm a B, then we really know what you are! LOL Don't get me started, every time I think of that I see red. My mom still talks to her, I guess she asks about me now and then, whatever, she doesn't need to know.

I tell stories the same way Terry, the more details the better it is, unless you're talking to my husband, he tends to drift LOL

I want to go home and dead head more of those Coreopsis. I'm going to have Coreopsis running out my ears next spring!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I have to do the same thing for some of my coneflowers that you have to do with your coreopsis Crissy. Except I'm putting down newspapers so the seeds can't sprout. I thought I thinned it out to go back to it's bed so I can plant ferns and hostas next to it but instead I find more coneflowers everyday. So, newspapers, tree bark and mulch is going down to smother the strays. lol

Put truck in shop tonight. Just got home maybe 15 minutes ago. Traffic was a nightmare. The highway that we use the most had wrecks on both sides and the girl in the traffic helicopter told everyone not to bother trying to get to Independence from Downtown KC cause they won't make it on I-70. One of the bridges is closed for rebuilding on one side also so that was making it worse. We detoured through some back roads.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That's horrible Celia, but it's nice when you know the back roads. I couldn't wait to get home to dead head some of those, then did I go out and do it, No. I wanted to visit with Dave, so nothing got done. The temperature outside was perfect for it too. Bum.

Nice clock Terry! My grandparents used to have a cuckoo clock, I think I broke it by pulling on the things, I was about 3 or 4 at the time.

(Zone 7a)

I LOVE backroads! How did you know? LOL "...the road less travelled." You get to see many cool things that way.

Well, have a good night, girls. I'm off to get snack then...? Who knows. Maybe sleep, maybe a movie until I sleep.

Good night.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good Morning! Back roads are so nice. If you're not in a hurry, that is. At the end of August I'm going to go to my mom's in Oklahoma, I think I'm going to take the back roads half the way, it'll add an hour to my drive but I've never been that way before. I fly to California on that trip too, but I don't think there are any back lanes in a plane lol
