You should see him after he gets shaved. (Which I have to get done next week. He looks aweful.) Walking around with that tail tassell saying, "Look at meeeeee....aren't I preeeeety..." ROTFLOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Too Cute!! Does he have one of those little meows that is barely audible, and does he chirp and make all kinds of different sounds?
Oh good grief, someone is shooting a gun outside. NICE!

(Zone 7a)

Oh dear!!! Keep your head down!

Yup, chirps and twitters. Some mornings, the bird noises inside the house are louder than outside at the feeder! LOL I had a friend aver for the first time once and he heard this little (me-ew...). He said, Oh, you have a kitten, and turned to see monster-cat enter the room. I thought he was going to choke!

Another time, I had a delivery guy come in the house. He saw The Boy and said Wow! That's the biggest cat I've ever seen! I said, Yes, he's our science experiment....and the guy backed up a step!

Tiga has stories, too, I'm sure...?

LOL she's not that big, being a female, 10 pounds. I used to live in an appt complex with this lady who had a 25lb black and white cat named Oreo, that was the biggest cat I have ever seen, and it wasn't overweight either.
One time back in CA I used to have my grandfathers old boat that wouldn't run, anyway Tiga liked sleeping in it. We were out in the back yard sitting and talking and this small black cat jumped out of it. Tiga didn't poof, hiss, or anything, just camly walked over to the cat and slapped it about 5 times, it was crazy. At the house here in AR there were these two old ladies walking 2 big bloodhounds without leashes and they took over my flowerbed with me out there in it, Tiga was all poofed, hissing, and going after the dogs! I snatcher her up and me and the next door neighbor went off on the ladies about how rude it is to just let their dogs run in everyone's flowerbeds and attack everyone's animals (they have 3 dogs kept in a pin and didn't have the fence at the time, after I chased them away from my bed and cat, they went over there and started causing havoc with their bed and dogs, they were outside at the time too.

Tiga has no balance, she can't climb or walk across anything skinny, shoot, one time she was walking across the back of the boat and fell off and landed right on her keester! It was hilarious, so much for always landing on your feet!

I get a new refrigerator!! Na na nah nah na na nah! I get to start shopping for one online! Whirlpool will pay for the cost for mine then I pay any additional for the upgraded version YAY I'm going to start shopping!

(Zone 7a)

Woo hoo!!! Yea, you! LOL Persistance...

Too bad Tiga has problems. Monty has arthritis in his right shoulder that's been giving him a lot of trouble lately. I think we're going to get pet insurance for them both. Monty's 10 and Isis is 8.

Good afternoon all!

We had an awful storm last night and the power is just now coming on. Trees are down over power lines, on houses etc. They say the winds were 80mph, I'm thinking they might of been stronger than that. Big oak across the street, that I have said since we lived here needs cutting down because it's rotted at the base, is off the base and leaning on their house. Damaged the roof and who knows what all. A lot of streets are closed, alleys are closed, street lights aren't working, so it's quite fun driving around town. Best part is that the stinking Ailanthus behind us, lost it's top and most of it's upper half. Now I wish they'd finish her off. Darn tree. Seeds are scattered everywhere, our yard included. Those seeds all sprout and are viable for up to 50 yrs. The tree also puts out something like 350,000 seeds per year. One of the worst invasive trees in the US. The male, which resides 2 doors down, lost a huge branch also. I'm so surprised the whole trees didn't come crashing down. Weak wood, typically rotten inside. Yuck trees.

We didn't get quite done with Phyllis' decks. When we went to visit her Sat. night, she was having extreme difficulty breathing. Almost to the point I was ready to make them call an ambulance for her. Something was wrong. Celia, what's the mask that blows oxygen into your nose and mouth? Blow map or some such thing. She had that on, had had it on since right after supper when they said she was really rather hysterical. Do they call me or anyone for that matter? Heck no. I also found out that night, that I'm 3rd on her list for her Living Will. Her youngest son told me yesterday morning that I had "insisted" on being 3rd or 4th on it. Say huh? When? I wasn't even notified that she in the hospital and had a living will until after the fact. jeepers. No, I ain't having fun with her "kids". Would you believe the woman could not breathe, she remembers nothing about being in the hospital except the very last part of her stay, yet her youngest son, who's also Power of Attorney/Medical if Phyllis isn't able to, decided that Phyllis was competent to make her own choices regarding the whole respirator and what her LW says. I'm telling you, none of those 6 are competent themselves. I couldn't sleep for nothing Sat. night, so I was up at the nursing home by 7:30am. Boy, were they surprised to see me. Phyllis wasn't. She was still having difficulty and they took off that mask and she was not happy. I stayed for a few hours, then came home to get John, ran to Wal-Mart to get this special yogurt the doctor wants her to have, took it back, and ran to a town about 20 miles away to get drapery rings for the new draperies I'd gotten for the living room. Also ran to a grocery store over there. Poor John can't find his Clusters cereal here in town. They had them, so we got 5 boxes. They also had Braeburn apples, our favorite apples, so we bought 10 of them. Yummy. I also needed band-aids, I'll get to that later. We came home, ran the drapes thru the dryer to get the wrinkles out and hung them up, ate lunch, colored my hair (man was it bad!) and then I went back to the nursing home. The first dang thing she says to me when I walked in, was how much trouble she was having breathing. Her son wasn't there, her daughter wasn't there. One of the nurses was shocked when I told her that Phyl has 6 children. She's seen 3. 2 only once though. They're all always so shocked to find out I am not a child of hers. I visit everyday, nobody else does, so I must be a daughter. Or at least a DIL. I'm none of those. She thinks of me as a daughter, but with the laws we have now, I can't say what I want to say. It's totally bizarre to me that I can be on her LW, but they have no information on me at all. No phone numbers at all. I'm there every day, yet if she needs help, if she's in distress and needs somebody, they won't automatically call me. Only if Phyllis asks them to will they. I am asking to be contacted along with whoever they need to contact whenever anything bad happens. They won't do it. Phyllis wants me called, but they won't do it. How does that make sense? How is that hipaa law helping her with privacy, when SHE wants me called? I do know one of the aids and even though he could be fired for doing so, he's got my phone number and he will call me if or when anything happens. They all hear her say she wants me notified also, not if they can't get a hold of one of her children, but also. They refuse. Celia? Can you shed any light that will make any sense to what they're saying at all? She's also on Xanax. But it's down as an "as needed basis" med. Some of the nurses give it no matter. But the ones like the nurse last night? Not on your life. She's short tempered, has no patience, and is rude to boot. I know there's a shortage of nurses, but jeepers. When youngest son arrived, he only stayed about 15 minutes then left. He did a few things over at Phyllis' house, but man. Come and stay with her for a change. He did come back about 2 hours later, staying for about 1/2 hour that time. He then announced that since Terry had it all under control, he'd leave. Huh? Don't get all bent out of shape because I can tell when your mom is having trouble and is having a lot of anxiety and I get the nurse to give her an Xanax. Don't blame me when I help her get a drink of water to swallow the pill. Don't blame me because she's asking me, because she's relying on me for these things, she looks to me for these things. Don't blame me because I've always helped her and you haven't. I could also tell at the same time he was about to leave, that she was in dire need of a nap, so I wasn't staying either. I leaned over and gave her a kiss good-bye and told her I loved her. Just like always. What does he do? He waves good-bye to her. Oh and how Phyllis keeps telling me how she's having trouble breathing? Youngest son asked her if she was, and you know what she said? "oh, sort of"!! I was so shocked. Unless he's blind, he could see it was a lot more than "sort of". She's doing what my grandma did to me when my uncle moved her to a nursing home down in Springfield IL. I'd go visit her and she'd beg me to tell my dad to come and get her, to bring her back to Henry (another town about 20 miles away to the south) and the nursing home there. I'd cry the whole way home and then tell my dad. My dad would call his brother. His brother claimed he'd talk to grandma and she didn't want to leave. I'd go visit grandma again. She'd say it to me again. She'd cry, she'd beg me to please get her out of there. And again, I'd cry the whole way home. Tell my dad, he'd do the same thing as the time before and I heard again that she was fine, she didn't want to come back. sigh. I had no say then and I have no say now. I've cried till my eyes, my head, my heart, hurt. I don't know how 1 person can have so many tears in them, but I sure do.

Today is a really good day for her. I've been there twice now. I had to make sure the power was on at the nursing home or they at least had a generator, something. They had power! She wanted us to check her house, so we didn't stay longer than an hour, and went to her house. She has no power either, but all her trees are fine. Then we drove around that town a little. Damaged trees and power lines, but no homes damaged like this town. She was having a breathing treatment when we got back, but she was glad to see us and to report her house is fine, just no power. I'll go back over before I go visit her. Check if she has power. If she doesn't, I'll go back when I leave there to check again. Her town is only 5 miles or so away, so no big deal. They've (children) cleaned out her freezerS, so there isn't much to spoil. It can get hot in there now, with that big ole tree cut down. Drapes are all closed, so it should be fine for a while.

O.k. Why does Terry need band-aides? Did you know that if you get your skin to close to a power washer, it's peels the skin clear off? Down to white meat? It does, imagine that! I was washing the lattice on her back deck, and I was holding it out from right above where it's screwed in and my hand holding the lattice slipped and my finger went with it. The force of the spray hit my finger and there's no skin on my left index finger, first knuckle to the nail. Ouchy momma. I do some of the most moronic things, it isn't even funny. It's really quite sad, actually☺

Well girls, the power keeps flickering. Thank goodness I have this power back-up thingamabob hooked to the computer. Didn't like it when it was beeping when the power went off this morning around 6am, but I'm glad for times like this. I need to run over to Phyllis' house to see if the electricity is on yet and then go for my nightly visit.

See ya! Have a good night if I'm not back on☺

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Terry, I could have told you about the power washer. You can also just cut off digits with those.

Sorry to hear about all the troubles with Phyllis. Know a bit what's that like but I won't go into details. :~)

Well, for several hours today I was without water. Someone in the area was digging and tore up a line really bad. It just came on a bit ago so I am gonna go water some plants that need it bad.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Could of would of should of pepper! LOL

The power went off right after I sent my message. We were about to leave for the nursing home anyway, so I'm not sure how long it was out. The nursing homes power was out too. Nobody had made sure Phyllis' oxygen was hooked to an extension cord, so I went to the nurses desk and then the power came back on. She was sleeping, so she never knew the difference. Her air was off, so it was kind of hot in there. I turned it back on and set it down pretty low for her. Her supper came and she ate almost all of it! I haven't seen her do that in ages. Then she did and made me do the meanest thing ever. She made me call her sister. That is just so mean and she knows it! You all think I talk? I'm quiet as a mouse, compared to this woman. I called her, remember? Could I get in what Phyl wanted me to tell her though? Not without interrupting her! Her sister is the 86 yr old that lives out in DC. Where she says she just can't believe how much her little town is becoming citified. Yep, DC is becoming citified. Imagine that. Then she tells me how she can't believe how much the town where Phyllis lives is booming! What a hoot that lady is. That town has a total of 3 newish houses. 1 still for sale (all prefabs on what was the HS football field, and it still looks weird to me). The town isn't growing at all. I think the population is still at 1000 people. What's the population of the citified DC? I couldn't figure out how to tell the sister I really needed to hang up. Phyllis told me to tell her that her aides were there to get her ready for bed. So I did. So not only did she make me do the meanest thing imaginable by making me call her sister, she also had me lie! I told Phyl that she owes me, she owes big time for that making me do that! ROFL Boy did she laugh too!

Part of town is still without power. A business of ours is one of them. They've been shut down since 7am. Not good. My dad thinks the power whachahiggy is only for our business. They appear to be working on the pole right beside our business and on another pole further down the street where you can see it's all dark.

And it's lightening out. I don't think we need any more rain. Least of all is any high winds. We had 1.1" of rain. I guess the storm started around 6am. Appeared to be pretty much over by 10:30am. A lot of my poor plants are flattened. A milkweed was about uprooted. I just stepped on the sides of it to get it back down into the dirt. Or mud rather☺

Well, I think I need sleep. I'm tired from all the activity today. Night all!

(Zone 7a)

Terry, do you mean a CPAP mask? The kind that goes over your mouth and nose with straps around the back of the head? They also make one that just goes on your nose with the straps.

How aweful about the storm! Our power went out today but we were at work and it was just a few minutes. You get some good REM sleep and I'll say "HI" tomorrow. Good night, Terry.

You know Celia, Tiga was having shoulder problems and I took her in and after X-rays and whatnot, the vet thought that it was an old injury that she was "dwelling" on, she was about 9 or 10. He gave her a shot of pain killer and she's been fine ever since. It is too bad, but I've read online and verified it with 2 vets that it's very, very rare to have a 12 year old cat that doesn't have some sort of problem. Apparently they age 5 years to our 1 year, so that puts her at 60 years old wwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Dave wants to wait until this weekend before we go look at refrigerators, I don't wanna wait, I can go look at lunch!

Terry, under the federal law it's considered an invasion of privacy. If there is no living spouse and no siblings living close by then the next of kin are called, which are the kids. Just think of how much work they have calling all 6! If you are not the next of kin they cannot call you. When my Nana was in the rest home they didn't call me, they called my dad and his sister. We even had written consent and I only got half the calls, if they didn't notice it right off the bat I didn't hear from them. It sucks.

(Zone 7a)

Which would make Monty 50. I thought it was 7 years for every one year. Huh, maybe that's just dogs. If it was 7 years, that would make him 70! I like 50 better. LOL

Off work today and having our old furniture picked up by the Salvation Army. It's very nice out right now so maybe I'll get some bulbs in the ground. Hmm...maybe not. It's a little hot for it.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Yes, Celia. I just got home now from visiting. I've been there since 3pm. It's now almost 7:30pm. They're not calling it a CPAP, but they did say it's either a that or a BIPAP (pronounced bye), which is what this is always called.

I also went into the office. They walked down with me to Phyllis' room. Phyllis would like me called along with them. They said they'd write it down that way. It HAS to be as she wishes, that's the federal law. The lady doing it said it was. Her youngest son is only her medical power of attorney if and when she's deemed incompetent. He hasn't done it yet, I don't imagine he would anytime soon. BUT over him is the next youngest daughter. It's really ALL up to her as to when or if Phyllis is deemed incompetent. And like I said, no one has done it yet, I don't see them doing it anytime soon. She also wanted me to open her Verizon Bill for her. She's so shocked and dismayed that her (youngest) son isn't doing what he's supposed to do. And that would be paying her bills on time. He didn't pay the last bill, so this is basically a double bill. She doesn't like her bills paid late. He's supposed to be here this week-end again, so hopefully he takes it and remembers to pay the darn thing. She's really fit to be tied. She's leaving all this stuff up to them and they aren't doing it. She looks at me as if to help her and I don't know how to help her. She does have an extra check book in her purse, so tomorrow I might ask if she wants to go ahead and pay for it and we'll make sure to write it down. I also asked if she knew I was on her LW and she said I should be..lol. Then I told her I didn't have a copy and she said that isn't right, I need a copy. I asked her if she knew what she had on it. She doesn't. She doesn't remember much about filling it out at all. I told her I thought she should fill out another one then, or somebody should refresh her memory. She thought it was done a long time ago. But it wasn't. It was at the time right before they stuck the tube down her throat. She doesn't remember that, but I'm sure at that moment in time, she only wanted to breathe. She ate good all day and ate almost all her supper. I went to the kitchen because she wanted the substitute, and she ate almost all of it. The sub was egg salad and she loves their egg salad. It's made from scratch, so that makes it even better. She said the soup wasn't good at all. It needed more spice. She used to be a home-ec teacher, so she knows how to cook really good. And makes some of the most yummy breads, pies, cookies, cakes===you get the picture. The woman loves her desserts!

I found a site on cats ages vs. human ages.
http://www.cathealth.com/ageHumanyrs.htm

At 12 Crissy, your cats age is approximately 68. Celia, your cats ages are 53 and 60. In the first year, according to this site, the age of a 1 yr. old cat is 17 in human years. At 2-3, they're 23, and on and on the chart goes.

What kind of bulbs Celia? Seems too early for daffs, tulips and hyacinths, but too late for lilies or alliums or the other early spring planted bulbs.

The town is still a mess. Most everyone has electricity, but trees are still down blocking streets everywhere. I haven't seen much activity today at all.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

No storms here really today. Mostly north. We had thunder and just enough rain to calm the dust for today.

I saw this article earlier when I got on here. Very sad.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL I thought that too, but the math just doesn't work out. That means that cats live on average to 15 years old, that's 105 years old, which just didn't seem right to me. So I went online and checked it out, it's 5 years for cats, 7 years for small/medium to large dogs, small dogs such as chihuahuas age 5 to 6 years. Weird.
Speaking of which, I forgot Tiga in the garage!

We got storms today, my rain dance worked!!! Dave said it poured for about 15 minutes then a steady rain for 30 minutes YAY and not much wind!

Your right Terry, it does have to be the way she wants it. All I'm saying is if no one sees the note for whatever reason, you don't get your phone call, and every time I brought it to someone's attention all I got was, "Oh I'm so sorry Miss, we'll try harder next time." It's a bunch of crap! I'm glad she's sharp, when they are incompetent it creates a real hassle, if there's going to be fighting amongst siblings that's when it starts.

Oh I think the batteries in this keyboard are going south, or it may have been my phone causing a delay LOL

Man, that must have been one huge storm, I'm glad you're ok, is your house ok?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yay Terry! I've been looking all over the web for a chart you don't have to buy, Thank YOU!

Glenview, IL

HI!

Had one of the most fun evenings last night.

Went to the John Melencamp concert!
We had incredible seats. main floor row p seats 12,-16, these were isle seats!!
This turned out wonderful as I was able to stand, I mean dance in the isle and get some pretty decent pictures. Johnny came out singing one of my all time favorites, Little Pink Houses...for you and me. Which, I actually bought a girly, girl t'shirt with that very same on it. (LOL, has drawings of three lil pink houses on the front and for you and me printed on the back, blushing-across the behind)
Thought what the heck, Don't think I'll ever get to see such a fantastic show that close again...So it was just incredible. The crowds were great to sing and dance with, the weather was perfect. He had a good mixture of old songs and some of his brand new ones...But wait the very best part of the whole night. We had back stage passes!! My friend's sister plays the violin in the band! Miriam is awsom too, I really enjoyed watching her play up a storm. So back stage i met her and a few other stage crew members, wow what fun we had chatting back there. Then all of the sudden Steve (dh) catches glimpse of John himself. Says hey look babe there is John.
I look and sure enough there he is!! So, waving I call out Hi Johnny, He looks at me waves back and says HELLO!! OMG, I tell Steve hurry and take pictures.
Wow, what a night. today i'm listening to his new CD.

So that was my glorious night.

smiles,smiles!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

NO FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE John Mellencamp!!!!

Oh well, I will get to see .38 Special here pretty soon so that helps. LOL

Having phone and computer problems today. We think our phone is going bad and it's affecting how our caller id works, answering machine and this computer. The computer wouldn't even come on this morning. Grrrrr....

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

WOW that's great, I'm glad you had a good time! I love John Mellencamp too! Reminds me of a Conway Twitty me, mom, and dad went to in Nashville at Twitty City. We went to the concert, which was great, saw Conway standing in his driveway as someone was leaving and the electric gates were open and my mom yelled, "Look! There's Conway!" He turned around and waved. Then we went into the central part of Twitty City and my dad got to jam session with one of Conway's daughter's! I would love to go to another concert but can never find anyone to go.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

I all I read is blah blah blah☺(she says because she's so green with envy she can't think straight!!)

O.k. I can think now. Ya know, hate is such a strong word, so I won't use it. So I'll just say I don't like Seedtosser. She's mean. I'm how far away? And I'm dying to see my favorite guy in the world? Who canceled a concert a way back when that I had tickets for??? Who by the way, I have every CD ever made?? Well hmph. I got nothing else☺

♥♥♥AND I am just kidding!!!!! Nobody go and get all riled up about me now ya hear??

I ♥ Seedtosser1

And I'm tired. My John(ny) is home, so I'm going to bed ☺

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Terry you are too funny girl!

(Zone 7a)

You girls are hilarious! I thought for half a second you were serious, Terry, until I realized IT WAS TERRY TALKING!!! ROTFLOL

Crissy, I read about your nasty neighbors. I feel bad for those little doggies.

Glenview, IL

Awe Terry and Girls,

Would it help if I told ya's I thought of you the entire time sang and danced with you all mind. Well now I even toasted my very expensive drink to you all when he sang Jack and Diane!

Have you heard the lastest CD? Very different from what we are used to. But actually the more I listen, the more I am liking it.

Crissy, what a great memory. Were you able to take pics. With your dad and CT's daughter jamming, how fun!

Pepper, How cool! when are you seeing .38 special, gawd i haven't heard them in absolute ages! So you have a grand time too.

Hey, where is Celia??? Youwhooo, hello, hope your doing well, busy busy?

(Zone 7a)

Judy! Hi!!!! Sooooooo glad you had a good time. VERY jealous, though! LOL

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Well no Judy, since you're asking, it helps not a little itty bitty bit. Not one little iota. I still say hmph. AND, I don't drink, so what good is a toast?? And of course, I'm kidding again☺ I still ♥ ya!! Does it help that I knew a member of the Doobie Brothers? He was born and raised right here in my little ole town. Or how 'bout the time a group of us picked up a hitchhiker way back when down in AR and she just happened to be the sister to one of the Black Oak Arkansas band members. Can't think of his name right now. But we drove her over to his house. Big tall fence to keep all those wondering eyes out. Still remember that. Can't think of his name or what the heck the name of the town is right at the moment. I can see the sign for the turn to that town, but remember the name? Not on your life. jeepers I'm old!! Oh wait, it's or was, in Oakland AR. Duh. Hence the Oak in the name. Still can't think of his name though. Doing a search, it looks like it would be Jim 'Dandy' Mangnum, or Jimmy Bolin I guess? I don't know. The picture looks like the guy, but I can't seem to find anything about a sister. Remember Allen Funt who hosted the show 'Candid Camera'? He sat next to me when I was 8 yrs. old ☺ All seems pretty lame to me, considering you saw John Mellencamp!! So not fair.

Who else did that? Was a rocker or something and suddenly their music went all blah. Hate it when they do that. So to answer your question, no I haven't listened to John Mellencamp's new CD. Not sure I want to, if it's that different of a style.

CELIA!! Of course it's only me teasing, silly! LOL

Oh hey Judy, I know how you can make it up to me! Take me to a Cub's game!! Are you watching them tonight? Styx just did the 7th inning stretch and I saw them! On the tv of course...lol☺

Has anyone seen this? The afternoon guy on WGN Radio, John Williams, was talking about this. Here's a link to John's page and a video.

Well, it's late I am gonna head to the bed!

Terry, You are just too precious for words! I can raise a pop, tea or whatever you like in toast...
(lol) just happened to have a beer in hand, BUTT thought of you all really, I did.

Bummer didn't see the game, but you know, I have been following all season!
Know you have been cheering twice as loud for all....You are just too cute for words.

Good night everyone.

Celia! Are them Cd shelves filled?
Um still waiting for a pic. See you all tomorrow!

My mom has all the pics from our time, we actually went 3 times, when I was 9, 11, and 13. I have met more country singers from the '80's than I will ever remember. I remember one of our trips, I think it was the first one, we went to this "All Stars" baseball game, I don't remember the actual name of it, but it's where a bunch of country stars go out and play baseball together. Somehow my dad, he got around, let me tell you, found out about this and bought the 3 of us tickets. He went to get himself a hotdog and Coke and was gone an hour and a half. When he finally showed back up we asked him where in the world he went. He said, "Oh, I was sitting down in the front row talking to Lee Greenwood." Just as calm as pie, no big deal. WHAT???? I about came unglued. I remember I wanted to talk to Sylvia, the country singer, but she didn't hardly notice me other than my autograph book sticking up in her face, she was swarmed with people, it was nuts! I have tons and tons of stories, I can go on for days without stopping. That was such good times back then. The last trip ended up being too long though and by the time we flew back in to Sacramento we were all mad at each other. LOL Things were good in the '80's.

Those are the neighbors that trashed that trailer we were talking about a week or so ago. They were horrible. For some reason my next door neighbors have to have 3 dogs, no more, no less. They are all good dogs too, plus they have a cat, and fish, and she wants a bird! Her husband says, "No Way Jose!!" LOL

Ok, ya'll are making me want to go to a concert here! There are none this time of year because of basketball at the arena!Ggggrrrrrrr LOL

Terry, how do you type those hearts, they are so cute!

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

I AM cute, ain't I?? ROFL! Ya know, Phyllis said something tonight that really warmed my heart too. I was telling her I spoke with her youngest daughter and I was telling her what all we had done over at her moms house. The daughter told me that we needed to move down to MO and live next door to them!! When I told Phyl, she announces "WELL! SHE CAN'T HAVE YOU!!!!" I thought I was going to die laughing at that!!

Cubs just won. You missed a GREAT game Judy!

Crissy, you make the heart by holding the Alt key and pushing the number 3 ♥ Hold the Alt, then push 3. I can't do it on Krista's laptop. The number pad is only at the top and that doesn't work. You have to use the number pad on the right hand side of your keyboard. Make sure the number lock is on too.

I'm sooooo ticked!! We got a new HD Dual Tuner TiVo for Christmas. The remote, so TiVo says, is not working! It used to work by resetting the darn thing, but not anymore. Once it stops working, it usually doesn't work for a good 48 hours. I'm stuck watching commercials back on regular cable t.v.!! The TiVo won't change channels, so I'm back onto another input with JUST the cable. Don't ya feel sorry for me?? That HD TiVo was NOT cheap and the warranty is only for 60 or 90 days, can't remember which one. How annoying. THEN the dumb customer service guy told me I had to buy a new remote!! Say huh?? I WILL NOT! You'll send me one! And they are☺ It should be in tomorrow. It better be. If it doesn't work and my parents spent all that money for a box that isn't worth you know what? Oh boy. They're in for a fight. I won't stop either until I get a brand new box. Why would I buy a TiVo for that amount of money and think it was only going to work for 6 months?? grrrrr.....

We got DHTV with a DVR. It's awesome. Our local satelite co. installed it. We love it. Everything works off the remote for the satelite. If it has a problem, we call, they deliver.

Judy, the CD shelves are NOT full! We took that aweful thing back to the store. It started to come apart while we were putting it together. NO MORE PUT-TOGETHER-YOURSELF FURNITURE!!! LOL Solid wood and you deliver for us. We did get some more things for the walls. They're still in the boxes. We'll put them up this weekend.

We also got two oval carved cork pictures.

Help, Help ya'll, I need help please!

This is embarrassing but I have a huge gas "bubble" stuck in my stomach and intestines. I've had this since 3:00am this morning and have taken everything under the sun, Tums, Gas-X, some Target version of gas relief, started a Prilosec course, Pepto (just 2 tablespoons because I thought better in case I needed to go to the bathroom that would stop me) more Tums, drank milk, etc. It has moved out of my stomach for the most part but my lower abdomen is killing me, especially my right side way down by my hip bone, but it's all the way across and some minimal heartburn going on. I can't stand up straight. Does anyone know of any way to get rid of this? I get heartburn now and again but this is bad, real bad. This is not the way I was planning on spending my weekend LOL

Oh Gosh Crissy! Poor Baby, geesh i had that problem only once.

Yikes, try and remeber what you ate and LOL, never touch it again.

Then if you want italics, you type < I > before the word and immediately after < / I >
for bold, replace the I with a B, for underlined, type a U, for bold italics, type I and B or to underline it all, also type U. It all has to be separate though. < I > < B > < U > your word < / I > < / B > < / U > Remember to take out the spaces.

Don't know much else☺ Went shopping yesterday and got a really cool toy for myself. At Wild Birds Unlimited. It's a wand of sorts with a speaker on it and it comes with a book. The book has all your backyard birds and a UPC (bar)code next to the bird. You turn it on and run over the UPC and out comes the bird song. It also has stickers, so I can add the bar code to my favorite bird book too. Let me see if I can find it online-----well, can't find it at WBU online, but doing a search I found it.

I was out last night calling the Bluejays. They were "talking" back to me! It was too fun. I can't believe how expensive peanuts have gotten. I used to get a 50 lb bag for about $50. Now they're over $80! In just 2 yrs. time too. Unbelievable. I sure hope Bucky the squirrel (I hand-feed him) appreciates it! And the Bluejays of course. LOL I also bought ink for both of my little camera printers. Buying 2 inks for each, I received 1 free pack of photo paper each. So I bought 4 inks and got for free, 2 packages of photo paper. Not a bad deal at all. John needed some things, so we bought them also. We had to run over to the Quad Cities, which is about an hour or so away. But we had to go to the IA side too. Gone all day long. Oh, and I had bought a Cyber Power battery back-up when I bought this new computer 3 months ago. If I sent them 2 bucks, they'd send me the serial cable for free. So I did. But it's only 1/2 of what I need. Impossible to find the other half. Without asking me, the guy took the male part off. I don't know if it's going to work or not. I wouldn't of let him do that. I hate it when they do something without asking!

We had to take our pressure washer back to Farm & Fleet this morning. We were hoping to just get a new one, since we've only had this one since May. But of course they want to fix it. Good luck! You run it and when you stop it, it won't start for at least a half hour. One time it took 1 1/2 hours!! Not good.

WOOHOO!!!! Cubs just took the lead!! 9 to 6 now!

Stopped in to see Phyllis last night. The usual CNA's had 2 nights off, so these other ones have no patience at all. They don't sit her up in her wheelchair correctly, they don't it when they need to do it, they jostle her around too much etc. etc. She was so out of breath and starting to panic, so we left so they could put the BI PAP on her. She likes for me to come around supper time. That way she's had a good afternoon nap and is really ready for a good visit when we come each night. Or I come. I missed the youngest son yesterday when he was in town. She seemed distressed over something about him also. I need to find out what. Her youngest daughter had told me that it was probably a "waste of my time" to have pressure washed the decks because she probably will never come home. Not a thank you for doing it, but it's a "waste of time". I was also trying to explain to her how her mom gets panicked. Somehow in her mind, I was saying something that would "feed" into her moms anxiety. How she got there I have no clue. jeepers. She also told me that they had waited so long to cut the tree down because Phyllis was "attached" to the tree. That's a ROFL because she doesn't have a clue how her mom hated that darn thing! It was THEM that were attached to the tree and didn't want her to cut it down! Not Phyl!! Because their dad had gone into the timber to dig it up and plant and their kids climbed on the tree. Big whoop is what Phyllis told me...LOL I can't believe how these people think. Don't they talk to their own mom? John had come home from work early that night and he heard my end of the conversation. When I hung up, he said what's she blaming you for now? Oh, everything. What kills me is that this daughter complains about the price of gas. But then her son is looking to get into a college next year on a football scholarship. So they've been to IN, TN, MI, MN, and now this week-end, they're in MI again for a HS graduation party. But they can't afford gas to come here? They live in Columbia, MO. 5 hours away. Puleeze. They feel quilt, so they blame me. Ah well. I guess that's why my shoulders are strong. It hurts, but I can take it.

Well, I want to finish watching the game, so I best get off here. Then I'll take my shower and go see Phyllis.

(Zone 7a)

Terry, I would feel quilt.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

But Celia, if you felt guilt, would you blame the very person who's doing everything possible to make your moms stay as comfortable as possible?

Or are you merely pointing out that I mis-spelled guilt and typed quilt? Kind of a big difference..ROFL

(Zone 7a)

I couldn't help myself. Sorry...;-))))

I blame them not you. I blame them for how troubled you feel. I blame them for your and Phyllis's heartaches. I blame them for not taking care of things, her home and her yard the way they should. I blame them for not understanding how all of this is making Phyllis (and you) feel. I blame them for being insufficient to the task at hand. I blame them for being inferior to you. They are the way they are because they CHOOSE to be that way. I blame them for that, too.

I blame you for one thing, though. I blame you for being an open-hearted, loving, caring, understanding, mindfull human being who cares about everyone around you, including those who may not deserve it, speaking your mind when it counts and keeping it closed when that counts, as well.

There. I feel better.

Crissy, did your problem go away?
