Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Pt.36 Visit with Friends
Ok...Weeeee!
Shar want me to send DS? on vacation next week, well after he cleans his room.
Betty, sounds like a good trick to remember. Hope that works for you GG.
Aww, got go pack up some boxes...Be back in a bit.
Ves, Take a hot chocolate break! heheh, don't forget tiny marshmellows.
Thanks Betty. With the glaze, will the tape pull off cleanly - not pull any of the glaze, paint. And yes, I am using the blue tape. Is the glaze medium in craft stores - like the little bottles of paint?

Vicki, think it's ok, I'm bringing the snowmobiles..no sense in using up my craft energy to walk up and down the hillside...oh/oh/oh Greg made a caboose, do you think I could bring it along as well, I can take you all up with it, please/please?
Betty we live right by the snowmobile trail! Don't know what shape it is in tho!
I'm having coffee with hot cocoa in it! Oh so good after sledding!
Vroom! Now were talking adventure! Woohoo, faster, faster.
hahaha, hope you don't mind...We look like bobbleheads with those helmets and goggles.
my mitts and hat are near the fireplace drying up for yet another outing...
Light snow has now turned into a drizzle, mild out so hope the roads don't freeze up until we head home...Suzanne has been quite busy so we've not yet had our lunch..we're going about 2:30 so coming into the office at 3:30 will only leave us 1 1/4 hrs left to our day..that's great...
Jeff e-mailed me a message this morning to call him as soon as I arrived..forgot..just called to say he came in last night and left $1,000 for Greg (snowmobile repairs) and had hidden it in the box of tools/crafts..so told he I might just go shopping..lol...
OMG, should have send Carol (Starzz) a map of Myrtle Beach so she could find a 'library'..do miss her posts but hope she's enjoying sunshine!
A great job, GG......tough to do those stripes, but how unusually pretty it all is. I'll bet your daughter is really happy.
I also love your gardens.......and can't tell who looks happier Murphy or your hubby.
You really are a hard worker!!!
Congrats on a job well done!
GG, what a great deal of work you have been doing! Awsom job both inside and out.
Nice and pretty bathroom.
I think that should be a picture of you Resting on that hammock with Murph! Wow he is getting big.
Also, wanted to say well if you get a lil pup relative, be kind of neat since Murphy "broke" you in. LOL.
Jeannine - Things are looking great at your place. I am with Shar on where do you find the time? I love the colors that you have chosen for the bathroom. Keep up the good work.
The cleaning lady didn't get here yesterday, so she is supposed to come today. I have some outdoor projects on my list for today, but hubby just said that it is supposed to be very windy today, so they may be out. No fear, lots of inside stuff to do.
I tackled one of the biggest messes yesterday, I cleaned out the middle desk drawer where every thing under the moon gets put. I purchased drawer organizers and now every thing has it's own place. Yippie!
Someting is wrong with my keyboard, so I will close now. You folks have a wonderful day.
Morning,
Jeannine absolutely love their washroom, looks funky, bet she's pleased as punch... your back yard looks wonderful and the pathway leading to the beds are truly a work of art..can't wait to get my mold out come spring and try it out using your cement recipe...
Murphy has the right idea, rest well and enjoy the spring..just maybe eying up those beds do you think..
Ruby, yet another corner cleaned..what does hubby think of all this? Hope you do get to play outside today..
Well, I'm off to get ready because I'll be meeting Suzanne in Barrie..she has shopping to do tonight and I must get home for the painters..they are doing muskoka chairs (adarondak for you all) lol..so I'll need my wits about me..
Talk later,
morning all,
jeannine, the grounds came out beautiful i like the design of all the beds your yard is very inviting, and the bathroom is wonderful with all the bold colors nice choice!
lots of work involved, bet dd is excited now that it is done.
oh how exciting another puppy awww murphy will be so happy.
and speaking of murphy lol check out those two lounging :)
ruby, hope the wind die's down for you so you can get out in the yard,
you have a wonderful day hope you get your keyboard fixed.
betty, have lots of pictures on the chairs the work they do is simply wonderful i enjoy looking at them.
hi shar, hope your keeping yourself busy,
behaving? not me!! dh traded my phone in and merged to my plan and upgraded me with unlimited texting wonder why lol whoo hoo
even got a blue tooth behind it to now that is a strange thing to have on your ear! but i guess i'll get use to it.
vicki, well now this is a twist, we got a call from our district mgr yesterday, that she has someone who will work thurs-monday to close and weekend..
here is the catch it is a former mgr,who was out on a medical leave and her time expired so basically she has been out for 9 months.
it all sounds good, but i cant help but find all of this a bit od since she lost her posistion and is now being paid the lowest amount of pay.
i told my mgr you better watch your back! they could of sent her here to watch our theif who is for some reason playing the star employee the last week, but she'll screw up!
i hear she comes in high on saturdays, i have to work with her this sat, i hope she gives me greif so i can send her home!
everyone have a wondeful day hope you all can get out in your yards soon.
Morning!
Liz after my experience there are very few people I would trust! You gave her a good warning. Oh yes that girl will screw up in time. I was called in because truck was coming at 7 last night and there was lots of work to do to get ready. I got some nic nacs out and 7 boxes of flowers and a whole uboat of stuff. Did facing and wandered around becuase the assist. manager wasn't doing much. Anyway it was the driver I yelled at to slow done a few weeks ago who had a trainie with him. It was the trainie that wouldn't slow down. I told the driver the kid better watch it because he is working with women!
The load before us was 547 cases. It took 2 of them 2 1/2 hours to unload it. We got 403 plus 19 repacks and the 2 of us got it done in 50 minutes. We were aiming for under an hour! Was the highlight of our evening! I know silly!
After our snow the first 2 1/2 miles was not a fun drive because they hadn't plowed. It was so wet and heavy it kept pulling the wheels. I was so happy to see clear blacktop! It was about all gone when I drove home.
Jeannine what a wonderful job on all of it. I am so envious of that soil. Can hardly wait to see pictures of it all planted. Never tried stripes. Don't know if I ever will. But do like the look of the same color with the different finishes on top.
Ruby what are your plans for today.? Glad you had a backup plan for yesterday.
Betty shopping!
I'd better go and get some breakfast.
Hope you have the day you need.
Gardengirl, love your pics! How wide are your beds? I love your hardscape. I missed your concrete recipe, may I have it also, please?
I am so mad I could spit tacks!!! Got a call from Burpee yesterday, they cannot replace the heat mats and thermostat I ordered! They are out of stock, so are crediting my cc with the amount of the purchase. I am totally ticked!!! I found another place to order, but wish they had told me this when I called to let them know about the damaged merchandise. It really puts me behind the power curve to get my tomatoes and peppers in early. So frustrating!!!
doccat5, any chance there is another supplier who can ship them out today? Get you back on track..yup, tried one of the molds last year but just couldn't get it to pull off without breaking the cement slabs..going to purchase the same one Jeannine has in hopes of also (with her guidance and recipe) get it to work correctly...does it never end..lordy, spring better get here shortly because I keep thinking up work projects..
Some of you are so lucky to be out there enjoying and getting your gardens in order...
Liz, will take photo's of the chairs..one is doing the large daisy, one is doing a lighthouse, not sure about the other girl..then a few others are doing misc. projects..so I'll be busy..
Vicki, I always thought you get a lot of snow in that region??? guess you don't have snow tires right? be careful..after you told the trucker he'd be working around women he must have chuckled and will be sure to slow the new driver down...
It's raining, dark sky, mild out..so much better than a blizzard..lol..maybe more of that white stuff will disappear...
Thinking about doing an Easter Egg hunt IF all the grandsons come on Saturday..so making a list, checking it twice, can't forget the big kids..my boys always want their treat as well..lol..
Thank you everyone! I still have 3 walls to do the stripes on in the bath and of course my critical eye sees everything I could have done differently. After looking at the stripes for a couple of days, I should have made the green stripes inbetween the brown and the blues narrower. I think it would have looked tighter. Oh well!
Doc, I made my stepping stones from the Quikrete mold and used mortar mix instead of concrete. Concrete has pebbles and they don't look as good as the mortar. I am able to get 3 stepping stones out of 1 bag of mortar mix. After I get the mortar all pushed into the mold, I lift the mold off carefully. Then I rub a little dirt into the top to give it some texture. Once it all dry, I fill the seams with dirt and I've planted creeping thyme and creeping gold veronica (Stepables). What's neat about the mold is you can move the sections around and place them where you want them so this works great when connecting a corner. You can also add color to the mortar mix. This is sold with the quikrete stuff at any hardware store.
Here's the link for their products:
http://www.quikrete.com/ProductLines/Products-Home.asp
Thanks for the info, GardenGirl. Where did you get your mold or did you make it yourself?
Hey GG, I wonder if you switch off the other three walls, how that might look.
Well i think you did great, lots of patients to do that.
Wonder, Are you still with us or did you go off on your little trip?
Oh my goodness, Doccat...that is frustrating for sure. Especially if you had them on the phone...I sure hope you can find another in a quick hurry.
Ruby, How cool. Ok now you can come and do mine. LOL, last time i cleaned the catch all drawer, boy found some really nifty things. Like my kids pins and girl scout badges. photos and letters...now why do you suppose i kept those tiny little pieces of paper...heheh. Well I am glad you got your space done and neatly organized with all the organizer trays. At least something to do while still indoors...
Hey Liz, Does that mean you will get your weekends back? Well, whatever that girl is up to will backfire. Had a lady who did the bare minimum until review time came around. She was pretty mean too. So always changed to be sweet as pie and helpful as can be till after her review. Well, LOL she didn't fool anyone.
...Maybe old manager just needs a job, and if it is ploy to get rid of the girl, sometimes other eyes see through veils.
OK...Easter is right around the corner...I know you must be decorating!!
Betty, Sending big hugs!! Thank you for my package. Can't tell you what impeccable timing it was to receive the note you sent with it.
Ves, Was so much fun sledding with you...Smiles, ahhh to be a kid for a day!
Glad your ride home was better. Whew is there any end in sight?
Oh my gosh Shar, I just love your story again!! Made me smile, can't wait to tell Breenie about it.
Oh...Cat, I was sorry to hear about your mom. You have been in my thoughts and prayers. I hope she will recouperate quickly...and I hope you are getting in rest too.
Dawn, have you been able to get out side yet? Hope so...
Hi to Gita, Tropi Rachel, hope you are all well.
Well off to reflect.
See you.
Oh, it's a Quikrete mold. They have 4 styles (but I like the "country" one I use best) Pretty sure I got it at Lowes.
Seed, thought about doing the stripes on just one wall but if I went with that, it should have been the wall behind the vanity. And I could make the stripes different on the other 3 walls but since I have drawn the lines with a level on two of the 3 walls, it will be a pain to erase those lines and start over. Actually now that I think about it, I will probably only have to redo 2 of the lines in each set so that may not be too hard. It will just make the periwinkle line wider. I'll look at it when I get home.
hello there
yes im still here, leave tonight.
had a stay in hospital and came home yesterday. went to craft group and had a very strange turn. went hot and cold all over, tingling, white as a ghost, weird stuff. so weird the doc called an ambulance and took me to hospital. they could tell me what it wasnt such as heart or stroke but had no idea what had happened. scary stuff. ayway feeling on the mend. dont you all worry now. i stress enough for all of us!
the decorating looks cool, very funky and some of you are in your gardens already!!
well off to work today and then off for a few days. i will try and pop in before i go....
xx
OMG Laura, you are making it sound as though it's nothing...to be taken to hospital in an ambulance..how very frightening for all...so hope your vacation will bring the brightness in your eyes...you've had a rough go of it this year..sending you prayers...
Well, another 1/2 hour and it's homeward bound..not feeling the best, hate to think that I have to teach painting tonight...if you were to see me you'd think I was 9 months pregnant and ready to have a child..so funny, Wayne in the office said he didn't know we were sexual in this office..was showing Suzanne..my slacks are now down my hips because I'm so swollen..happens from time to time...uncomfortable right now..hopefully by the time I get home I'll be dancing around...
Hey...where is everybody???? Did you go away and leave me????? Betty, what happened, did you get home OK, teaching tonight?
No fun with nobody here. Where oh where are you?
Seed, you are never missing, Liz???
Ruby...OK guys, I refuse to talk to myself.
Dawn, sweet baby, you sure gave me a lovely surprise today. What a special card, filled with good things! I will treasure the seeds forever, reminds me of those that grew at my great grandmothers home in central KY. I love them, thank you for even thinking of me. Sure did brighten up my day. And I will for sure send you a picture when they bloom!
Remember I went out on Saturday and met some friends at a St Patrick's Day dinner....wore the necklace that Liz made for me....well here is a picture with my friend Laura, and only the cord is showing, but Liz you know I had it on.
Please 'scuse the mop of hair, you know how curly it gets when it rains. I started out looking all nice and neat, but the later it got, the curlier I got.
Looks good tonight, and is there anyone here to see it...NOPE, not even you guys!
thanks Dawn.....and thanks for the comments about the fun article. I'll slow down, I promise.
Hugs..
You are so very welcome. It was nothing but I wanted you to know how special you are.
It is windy again, but the last two days were great. I was out in it all day and I can barely stand up now. I also got a sunburn on my cheeks and I used sunblock with a high spf but put it too thin and stayed out too long.
morning all,
vicki, this old mgr, had a good chat with her and she said to me ,
she thought they were testing how far she (herself) would go to stay with the company, and the only reason they put her back to work was because of the strict laws, but she said she would do what ever it took to be back at work even step down to zero and start all over again.
now during all of this the loud mouth cursing and doing everything defiant poor tony looked at me and said omg , i told her oh this is nothing its calm, dh is convinced they promised tony another ther mgt job but on one condition, to spy and report on our theif, he says it costs to much to put camera's in stores.
have to grind on this with the boss this morning.
whoo hoo your unload time was great! were still at it.
shar, i think you look lovely just the same curl or straight, yes i see you have it on :) looks like you gals are having a great time.
cathy, sorry about that, i to had a issue with burpee over a sun calculator, they sent me 2 bad ones! made me so mad behind it,
i went directly to the sun calc, manufacturer and not only did they fix it but also gave me another one to:)
oh then they said if you go their c/c you would get this garden tee shirt... called them on that to they said oh check with the bank card co, well no more orders for them! i hope your mats and thermostat arrive in time for you.
laura, have a wonderful time sneek in when you can.hope all is well but they didnt say what it could be?
judy, phone has me still confused i dont know how to retreive msgs but i found it now so watch out! lol no i had to bum rush decorating at work and i looked and said forget it still have st pattys up at home not enough time in a day for me.
betty, you must of finished awfully late last night i look foward to the pictures
oh i asked about the mini drill press again lol he said he didnt want to put it in dd's car so i think i might just have a chance on getting it! i'll wait till next week and bring it up again.
dawn, you still have wind! no fun... ours stopped for now
everyone else have a wonderful day

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
I have been trying to catch up on the posts..but finally said I better just say hello. I'll just jump in here.
In my mail when I got back was a lovely card with a daylily bloom on it...and a receipe fro banana bread from a Secret pal.
It was dated Feb 16th inside the card..so it must have arrived just after I left...but here is the mystery..it had a Waterloo ON return address on it...hmmmm...no one here lives in Waterloo that I know of.
Thanks to my Secret Pal..I love banana bread. The thought that went into this is quite something..the combo of my fav flower..Lily..and my fav fruit... banana.
I was thinking of my Secret Pal while I was away and found a little something for her.
I will have to get it in the mail soon.
So about my vacation...
Good time was had by all.....a little shopping done..some touring and lunch in the historical area of Georgetown..walking the beach..lots of great food...beautiful sunrises.
Sitting in the sun..did I mention food? OMG! Lobster ravioli, shrimp cocktail, shrimp linguine,Scallops with sundried tomatoes and pine nuts, lobster salad, crab salad...grilled steak etc. etc.
Cheryl and Fred out-did themselves with fancy meals. Cheryl's broken shoulder is coming along nicely with therapy.
We went to see the Legends show..impersonators of old stars....a fun show..they really engage the audience.
Saw an Imax 3-D show about the Grand canyon and Colorado River..rafting down the river it felt like you had water spraying at you at times.
Cheryl and I went to wander around Brookgreen Gardens and see the blooms and statues.
This is a photo I took of myself on the balcony with the sun coming up....I played with the ISO setting so it is darker
than in real life.
Good morning y'all.
Sharran, don't you look like a "hot" mama!! You go gurl.
hellnzn11-I can sympathize, it's seems like this winter is draggin on forever and you want to take advantage of the good days as much as you can. Use more sunblock- I love those commercials where all the kids look like they've been covered with frosting or something.......LOL
Very windy here today and the army is still shooting mortars, I sure hope the hit something pretty soon, this is getting old, fast!! LOL Every time it booms the dogs bark.......LOL And the neighbors are having what appears to be a new patio put in on the side of their house closest to us. This should be interesting. He's a bit "odd" and probably thinks the same thing about us. Nice young couple though.
