Yep Betty, i have to agree on having plans interupted. I hate things such as that. I too would be having some choice words for the universe.
I cleaned off my computer desk a while ago. It looks a lot better. Speaking of saws, I have asked John to bring one to the house when he comes in so that we can cut a hole in the back of my wooden desk where computer and all accessories set. When Organizer was here we found that there is another electrical outlet behind the desk that I could be using. We also figured out that I can put my computer on the ledge that was added to this desk previously. It will need a hole made for all the cords to go through and be hooked to the new outlet. I will then have a lot more desk top space. Yippee!!!
I made a pot of Kielbasa, beans and onions yesterday and there is enough left for tonights dinner too, so I don't have to cook today. I have ground beef thawed for a meat loaf tomorrow. Oh yeah, I want to bake some sweet potatoes either today or tomorrow. They are supposedly full of potassium which I am running low on.
Alright folks, I am off to organizing the cabinet in my bathroom. So many things under there. Hopefully there will be things that I can get rid of and that will make space. Will check back in later. I hope that everyone is having a good day.

Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Pt.36 Visit with Friends
Hi everyone,
Wow, you all are busy,busy.
My family left. Was such a nice surprise to see young nephew. The boys got along pretty good. Last night they had angument which sent the youngest out in tears. LOL he was more upset that he didn't win the argument...Gosh, I am not to cool at playing referee over young people really dumb arguments. I just let them go at it and neice was trying to talk them into making up...All that did was make the one madder and the other two frustrated for not being able to calm him down. So finally made up and off they went to lazer Zone...Came back as if nothing ever happened. Crazy........
I had a really nice visit with my neice and she showed me how to add stuff to My Space page.
Betty, nice Gazeebo for birds! What a bummer about your saw. I am sure you will find something to play with. Well I pulled out all of the pieces fir my fountain, LOL already at a snafu. I will be scrubbing my Fairy clean so i can paint her...been putting that off, but now decided she will be the focal of my fountain. Going to ask dh to drill a couple of holes in her to send water tube up and through her. Water will cascade over her basket and into lampbasin...big plan spill over into container. I can see it so clearly in my head so now just have to figure out how to make it happen....
Ruby, Sounds like you are just movng right along there.
LOL, Liz has been texting since early this morning! Off to a grand start...Dh and SIL at eachother already, shopped at walmart and now at MIL's...LOL we are in for a heck of post.
Well it's a pretty day here, a little too cold for me so I sit and embroider some more. Coming along nicely, more for something to occupy my hands. So I have been going to town on that. Tried this new thread...it pretty but kind of a pain. It's mettalic and the strand breaks away...so I am not to thrilled with it, Made the effect i wanted though so I am glad to be done with it. (Never again).
DH on way home so will have lots to tell me.
Sorry to say I can't think of anything brilliant for you to use fur for. Or for a use for those pretty material, although hanging them will make a pretty design...Since no mirrow maybe you could put a solid material behind them, will bringout the design nicely.
Well I hope you are all having a good day. What are you all up to??
Shar are you feeling any better today?
will check in in a bit!
It was my co-worker with the loose lips. There is an addition to the story. I got to work yesterday and found out she has to work 3 days in another store where the manager is a real B----- That's why she needs more help because 2 quit on her. Loose lips is not happy about having to go there at all... This might not be nice but it made me smile on and off all day!
DS and GF were here again today. Nice visit! DH's nephew also came for a visit. So a full house and lots of visiting and cooking to do.
Here is the feeder I was working on. Not as pretty as the wood ones but it will hold alot of bread or suet. Also if the bear goes after it not a great loss. Just make another. LOL
Sounds like most of us are having a good weekend. That is so good to hear.
OMG, Vicki....great idea, but BEARS???? Gulp.
Double gulp.....
woahwaa..Glad you were in the house VES. Oh my gosh..Gulping and shaking too!
I like you cage feeder, LOL guess one of those is must.
So glad your having a nice weekend...giggles about loose lips, Maybe she will behave now.
hi there all,
OMG that gazebo feeder is stunning!!
i dont know anyone who could make that... its amazing.... i cant believe you can make it, your so amazing!!
i so need to live near you! hhahahahaha
yeah the postal service is appalling for OS and im not sure why as sometimes it can get there quickly!
as for the fur, lots of good idea already...
hello to all
off to work!
xxx
What's happening with Liz, Judy??
Catch us up!!
I have been trying to get my garage cleaned out so I can get to my workbench out there, among other things. Kids were in and out last summer and things got tossed around so that I can't even find my good shovel to dig holes for my roses. So far, I have made not a dent. I have an old cabinet that I want to clean and paint, it has a mirror with it, so I think it was at one time a wash stand. I also thing it was hand made. It is a little cool to be working in the garage yet, but should be warm early in the week.
Once I get started, I will be outside for the rest of the summer, and frankly, I cannot wait. I feel like I have been stuck in for years instead of months.
I did go out to meet some friends last night and had dinner with them. Still hard for me to come home to an empty house, but i am getting better. The cats are always waiting at the window watching for me. I even stayed out till nearly 11....it was fun, but you know I don't enjoy eating, so the dinner was just there. I did have a nice salad, and a bit of baked cabbage, but the chef had put cinnamon on it, and that was not as good as it would have been without. they also served soda bread, hard crusted and hot, so that was nice, too. AND I wore my Lucky Irish Liz Spoon with my emerald green shirt. Everybody loved the necklace. Thanks Liz!!!!
I told them all it was from my very dear artist friend in California!
OK, back to work....you all enjoy the rest of your day.
Melanie just came and got Sophie, my furries are looking around to make sure she is indeed gone..Mel said they had a wonderful trip, now Kyle says he forgot he has a project to do, had cooked the stuffed turkey roll but hadn't got to the rest of the meal so they'll stay home to get Kyle organized..that's ok..had a bath, couch looked mighty inviting, got my gardening books out and fell asleep..now I'll try and stay up for the rest of the day so I can sleep all night..
Judy, so funny about Liz..going to be checking the posts in hopes of hearing about National Lampoons #2..she's a glutten for punishment that one...
Vicki, smilling that you are happy she off for another store for a few days..might do her good..and will give you a rest..love the feeder, bet you got cuts making it..the wire tends to be sharp...bears are common place here as well, they don't bother us if we don't bother them..only danger of course is if cubs are in the picture..but, am glad they are in your yard instead of mine...
Shar, sounds like Ruby got us all into the spirit of 'spring cleaning'..an entire garage..lucky you..just think of all the treasures you might find...glad you went out last night, don't know if coming home to an empty house evers gets easier..I purposely come in saying 'hello everyone, miss me?' just to feel as though there is life from within...so my heart goes out to you dear friend...think of us all being there for you when you come home at the touch of the keyboard...
Judy best not get involved where children are concerned..have seen many a parent not talking because of children issues only to find within minutes the children are best friends again...you did right..let them sort it out in their own way..
I think your water fountain will look lovely, you'll figure it out I'm sure..how big is your fairy???
Laura you are shortly starting you Monday right? Is it this weekend that you are off for a few days of R&R..hope so, will do you a world of good, and no you cannot bring your sewing machine with you...
Know I accomplished much over the weekend..i.e. insert in stained glass, very primitive for a little metal table 12" x 12" in diameter...cleaned and cleaned..today well it was a lost cause, good Lord must have been telling me it was better not to be near tools...lol..so I listened much against my better judgement, so nothing really to show for my weekend..wasn't into my stained glass piece..long weekend coming up so I'll have plenty of time for play...
Well, I'm off to cook a few potatoes and veggies, clean kitchen and relax...did 1/2 doz. blueberry muffins this aft. as well but gave them to Mel for their supper..
Yawning, so I'd better sit up while waiting for my supper to cook otherwise...well, we know what otherwise will do..yet another burnt supper..so I'll be good...I'll watch the stove..promise...
Trop,Cat,Gita,Doc,Rachel,/Dawn, hmm hope I didn't leave anyone else did you enjoy the weekend?? do hope so...
Betty,
I have an old gazebo bird-feeder similar to yours, except mine has a 3' or 4" tube in the middle and a removable top on the "roof" through which you can add the seed. I no longer use it--it just sits in my basement. My daughter doesn't want me to throw it away--as she sees some kind of "neat" potential in it.
The reason I gave up using it is because, to me, there is a design flaw with it. Because it has these high edges all around the bottom, the chafe, and all the shells from the seed, have no where to go and they just accumulate in the base of the feeder. Then watergets in there, etc...and before you know it, you have stagnant, fermenting all seed stuff.
I see that yours has little openings cut all around the base. Maybe that will help.
I have a simple-minded question for you------when your saw stopped working, did you check your fuse box or the switches in your ????Box? (senior moment--what is it called????). Maybe it threw a switch?
Vicki,
My birds here do not especially eat any bread I throw out. You have yours in a suet-feeder thing yet! Maybe mine are all just spoiled! I often throw out some sliced, stale bread--and it sits there forever. Maybe some other critters come and eat it during the night....NO bears here!
Gita
Hey all...
Ok got some lowdown from Liz...
They are surviving this trip so far...LOL DH lost it when they brought out a tray? of Chicken heads!!
Yikes...Liz's word...BARBARIENS! Now the IL's want to go shopping at Costco on way home---poor girl's got a long ways to go before home. hehhe...will keep my phone on.
My DH is home so we have been visiting...
Wow, Shar you have been busy too...so much nicer to clean in warm.
What!!!!! Whattya mean chicken heads?????? OMG?
Gita, went back and looked at birdfeeder instructions and it allows for exactly the difficulties you mentioned...I took a photo but in order to enlarge it's a bit distorted..but might give you some ideas...
It says to drill 2 holes 3" apart using 1/2" drill bit, then with scroll saw cut the inside out..this will allows for cleaning, you then cut a piece of 1/2" wood a little larger than the hole and screw in over the whole..when you want to clean the area you unscrew and push seeds out..also says to take a 1/8th inch drill and make a few holes on the bottom base to allow for drainage.....maybe try to do this and you just might want to keep your feeder...
Yep, I did check the plug, checked for breakage in the cord, checked for a re-start button but no go..so Greg says he'll come after work tomorrow or Tuesday and take it off it's stand and bring it to a shop that does all his motors and see what they can do..I paid way too much for this commercial unit to scrap it..so even if it were a few hundred dollars it would be worth it..poor girl has cut an awfully lot of wood since I've had her, sooo would say she earned her keep, time for upgrading and repairing...I'll fix her up..just like me-getting old...lol
chicken heads - Judy - OMG..guess Liz had a sudden urge to say she'd eaten not long before and was full..thanks but no thanks...I can imagine her rendition...sooo funny...can't wait..
Best of the day...visit from Anne, hadn't seen her in a few months..now that spring is coming they'll be up almost every weekend..she's planning their 40th wedding anniversary here in town..I'll help her out..checking on catering this week..so that will be fun...
Worse..of course wanting to do woodworking and no proper tool..I'll fix that, tomorrow I'll go get finishing blades for my jig saw...more ways to skin a cat..pardon the old expression...
What did I learn...I'm lost without my tools...almost like loosing a friend..well almost..lol
Aww Betty...you'll get her all fixed up and back in business.
YEP...That was the Standard OMG!!! All I know is DH went off and they were getting ready for Normal food! LOL like all of you. I can't wait for the Post from Liz.
Well...she said she probably won't get home until 8 and that is really late for them. So hopefully she will update us before she drops...Awww! LOL good thing she kept the angel wings, have a feeling came in handy this time.
I really like that Betty, I saw it on HGTV once and it is a real simple idea and easy to do, I was actually thinking to put it in place of where my Mushi Garden was going but I am not sure. He will have a garden one way or another but I think that would have been a good spot though. I really like it.
Bears, skunks... Liz does live in Wild Kingdom.
I have had so much wind and I am sick and tired of it, all it did was blow and still now it still blows, so much that My Under Control weeds are no longer under control and I have sprayed and sprayed and still need to buy more. It is my third bottle of total Veg kill.
This ruins my going out to build arbors and such on my week off unless it stops.
It is so cold from a week ago where it was in the 70's and low 80's for weeks.
I like your projects. How is Matthew today?
I love having my family home during the school breaks but I am looking forward to a little more 'me' time. I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do.
To answer your questions Liz, we used herring for bait and we threw the fish in the picture back. It would have been a good size to keep as the smaller ones are really boney. We have a pike in our freezer though. I'm planning on making a chowder with part of it. I'm not sure what I'll do with the rest. The fish that we did keep was all walleye. We kept about 15 and that's with throwing about half back. Walleye (sometimes called pickerel) is considered by many to be the best fish for eating. It is soooo good. DH doesn't really like fish that much but he likes walleye. We were lucky that our friend cleaned filleted the fish for us. To prepare it I dipped each fillet in water then in a coating called fish crisp - just a basic flour and seasoning coating. Then I pan fried the fillets in a bit of butter till golden brown. Walleye taste so good on their own you don't need anything to mask the taste.
That's all for now.
I only like, not spiny fish and white not fishy fish like Cod and Tilapia, red snapper some too. I like fish fried or broiled with garlic and lemon but if I get it in a restraunt, it better be fattening and fried.
evening all,
i cant wait to go to bed! well it started out this morning with dh, sil, dd, and myself.
we were all ready dd taking her sweet time as usual....
now on the road everyone anticipating weather or not inlaws are going to behave?
so during the drive dh and sil at theitr usual brother/sister bickering.
stopped at walmart to pick up a few things we arrive at the house mil cooking and in a very good mood, this becomes quite scary not knowing what she is up to lol.
so guess who got the dishes out, cleared the table and put things away.. just dont get why no one else can do this guess i have sucker written all over my back.
during breakfast dh couldnt wait to start trouble with his sis..
aparently when she went to alaska on a cruise part of it was in canada and she needed a passport well on her birth certificate it said baby girl molin because mil didnt know wheather to name her linda or sabrina,
now with this in mind dh pops off, oh i know why now it makes perfect sence ( asking what does) he said i know why shes all screwed up its because she is sybil just like her certificate oh boy did it start....
my angel just cannot leave anything alone!! lol
dd grabbed a few videos, he cracked the whip and we all piled in the van he said to them just watch the movie and keep quiet i dont care what you do i dont want to hear anything...
so we got to sacramento about a half hour early,so we went in the place looked like a dive from the outside now on the note they said dress casual,
went inside and into another room where there were several tables we sit at the one that tilts so dh complained and complained looked under the table said look at this this small table has a big peice of plywood underneath,
fil complaining i hate chinese food !look at the tea cup it is dirty just like them .
omg so we moved to the corner table that didnt move at all, mil and fil started on something it was to much.
to my surprise mil warned me dh brother might be there they were seperated many years ago not to close at all.
well he did show i felt so bad all i could do was stare at him the resemblence was unbelievable! bet he thought i was nuts we did get some pics
now aunt connie who is the one who lost uncle john arrives and sil says omg wait till you see what she is wearing ! it was a summer top with capri"s and sandles i guess tradition is something of the past?
she said uncle john loved chinese food and this was how they were going to celebrate his life this was to be a 9 coarse meal.
first was some seafood soup yuck!
then it was pork, then it was walnut prawns yippe i can eat now!
then came the platter of chicken we all picked through it and the white rice but wait in the plate there was a chicken head on the platter omg dh said he lost his appetite i told him dont look he said how can i eat when everywhere i look those beedy little eyes are looking at me! i said omg barbarians..
then they brought some other glazed chicken oh it was awful couldnt wait to go eat!
it was a nice gathering but could of done without the food, dh stood and gave a speech i was proud of him it was very nice.
fil, you could feel the tension with him and the family!
he told me he said to one of mil sisters , you must of found my wife in a ditch in the phillipines because that is how you all treat her.
so as we were saying all of our good by's aunt connie told us to come visit her in oregon alone so i guess there is some truth to that story.
now the other aunt made this cool goose that she sells in her craft fairs i'll post a pic later.
so off to drop them off they have to stop at costco geez we will never get home!
now to go eat, went to ihop real food at last! now dh forgets to let his sister out and closes the door well that started more trouble, lol.
mil and fil cant hear start to yell... they have to be told to pipe down! at this point i wish there was whiskey being served.
now after all this, were in the van waiting for mil and dd well as they come out,
mil is wiping the bottom of her shoe i lost it and was crying in laughter dh making matters worse yelling did you step in Ka__! fil hysterical laughing.
finally get them to there house and im sure im forgetting something but im sooo tired !thank god i was texting judy my life saver!
have a great evening yap in the morning.
OMG Liz, this would have been a best selling video for sure!!!! You could entitle it: "Chicken Heads"......
Geesh, what a trip!
afternoon all,
yeah betty just finished my monday... was a sweltering day!! 40c!!! even the aircon at work didnt like it... yuk.
i was wondering what the chances of sending a copy of the birdhouse your doing now.. i may have someone who could make it for me.... would that be possible?
hahah i thought about taking the machine but no, i wont.
i cant wait. DH paid for an extra night so i could have the fun of going straight after work thursday.... he is so good to me.

OMG but they were worth it for sure... magnificent and moving.
well here is a pic of my gorgeous baby whom i miss..... its not a good one, just one taken with a phone as i couldnt get my disk drive open to give you a better one.. but you get the idea..
Morning all, Happy St. Patricks Day...must go look for something green to wear!
Wrestless/wrestless night..got up and out of habit looked out the window and saw some orbs..could quite capture the beauty..the 1st one that I took a photo of had a big diamond within, picture just shows 1/4 of it from the washroom window

sounds like your feeling so much better i am glad, you had us worried for a short time!
watch out clear a nice big space in the garage for all the projects lol
i think this is the reason i dont go to the restaurants in san francisco when they bring the carts around for you to pick and choose what you want it made me sick to see a platter of chicken feet as well as some other things!
dawn, how is your garden comming along, no its vicki who has bears lol

good greif, it was the most discusting thing to see the heads and they thought nothing of it permanently inbedded in my mind!
those orbs are cool to look at, makes you wonder?
gosh here is that goose it is very smiple but the neatest thing she makes it with old fence boards have to trace a pattern.
forgot to say....
HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY ALL
Liz, not sure where I posted when I was using my knitting machine but have a couple of the same hanging there..little different colors though and I use rough lumber to give it an aged look..
I'm going back to read your National Lampoon #2 story..goodness it's never dull with your in-laws..
Laura asked for directions so I brought the book in and will type it out..photo's might help..lol..
Dawn guess we are all plagued either by snow or wind or rain..maybe we are just too anxious...I'm going to get all indoor work done, garden art made and then when gardening weather comes, I, like Shar, will live outside...
A GAZEBO for the birds
Simple for people to build/easy for their feathered friends to love!
This fly-through bazebo-style bird feeder has a simple yet attractive 'hatbox' design. The materials cost under $20.00 and all of them are available at local home centers. It only takes part of an afternoon to build, without any fancy tools. If you want, you can build several in assembly style.
Start by cutting the top and bottom panels and the 6 walls.
First cut two 12 1/2" x 14 1/2" rectangles out of 3/4 inch plywood. Most home centers will cut the plywood to size for you... (know they did at Home Depot on Sunday morning for me) Not sure if you will be able to see the measurements..but if you take the board with the 12 1/2 " going from left to right, divide in with a pencil mark so the upper will be 6 1/4" and the bottom part 6 1/4"...then turn the board so that 14 1/2 dimensions are going left to right..ok.. go in 3 5/8ths on the left and then the 3 5/8th on the right and mark..you will now have 7 1/4" left in the middle..take a pencil and join the end of 7 1/4 inch line to the middle line you created dividing into 6 1/4 mark .. continue joining and you'll have your hexagon..second one will be easy because you'll just have to trace...remember DO NOT throw away the corner pieces that you cut off to make the hexagon because they will be your roof rafters..they will meansure 12 1/2" x
3 5/8ths" width...
Mark, then cut off the corners as shown in Photo 1-Figure A. Save six of the triangles, which will become the roof rafters a few minutes down the road. Use a jigsaw or circular saw to cut 6 - 10" length x 7 1/4" width pieces for sides...
I took a ruler and market off 2" below for the base where the hearts will be make, I marked off 1" on either side of the 7 1/4" piece then I left 1" on the upper part of the piece..then I just took a bowl and made the rounded angle..worked fine..to make the hearts I'll use a 1/2" drill bit and then make the 'v' and cut it out either with scroll saw or jig saw...once
I cut the 1st one out I'll do it to the other 5...
Assemble walls and rafters...
Since each side of the hexagonal top and bottom is 7 1/4" wide the should fit perfectly..you can either use screws or brad nails for this project..I add a bead of glue to make it stronger...
Now take the 6 triangular corner cutoffs you made earlier and glue and nail them to the top hexagon toserve as your rafters..see photo 5. Center each triangle on the layout lines and make sure the outer tips meet the outer corners of the walls...
Next, shingle the roof...
Use three overlapping layers of 1x6 cedar lap siding for the shingles. Use a protractor to draw the 65 degree angle on the siding, then with a jigsaw with the bevel angle set at 10 egrees tu the first 6 roof panels...photo 6
Set the first row of siding in place, but don't nail anything quite yet..Adjust the panels so the all hang over the walls the same distance and fit pretty uniformly on the rafters. Don't worry to much about the exact fit since the plywood top will keep the water out. With an open-air design, come wind-blown rain is bound the creep in anyway.
Use brad nailer/nails or scres to install the roof panels. 1" hand driven brads work fine as well..
Then cut, fit and nail on the second and thrid rows the same way...i.e. photo 7
Add trim and Hardware...
Cut 7/8 dowels and nail them on the corners i.e. photo 8. Use galvanized screws to mount a ipe flange to the centre of the base. Drill two or more 1/2" holes about 3" apart and cut out the space between them to create a clean out slot. Make the flap for the cleanout slot from a piece of scrap siding and secure it with a screw. Add a few 3/16th inch holes in the base for drainage...
Finally bury a length of threaded pip into the ground, screw the pipe flance and bird feeder onto it and fill it with birdseed..
Dinner is served!

Top O the Morning To You!
LOL, thats about it for my St. Patty's day.
We will have our Corned beef on the weekend. DH enjoys making it and then we use meat for sandwiches.
Shar, nice that you went out to dinner with friends and wore your pretty pendant.
Laura, you little pup was adorable I can see why you miss him. Maybe someday you will be able to get another pup. Now you enjoy your vacation. Sounds great that you will leave earlier.
Dawn, Well goodness I hope your weather returns to warmth. My where exactly are you near to get so many winds like that. Any rate, am sure you will have a lovely garden space for Mushi..(hope i spelled right) Will look forward to hear about as you develope it. I hope you get oportunity to bulid brid feeder too.
Gilli, so nice your family came and you had a wonderful visit. Are the children back to school?
Betty, Wow...those are really cool orbs. I wonder what causes them. Does anyone else notice them?? --You know I was re-looking at pictures, OMG Missy is just too cute with that little dog planter. So funny, she looks like she was waiting for it to do something.
Liz, I am telling you, you got some of craziest things that happen. OK, OK I am still confused on SIL getting locked in the van...Could she not get out? OMG you didn't tell me about the chicken feet....ROFL, what were you supposed to do with those? Use them for toothpics?? Holy moly so glad you stopped at Ihop.
All, in all sounds like everyone behaved pretty well...heheh, better to leave laughing then yelling....Shar, Great title..."Chicken Heads"
Hello, to everyone...I am behind schedual here don't know what my deal is...but better get in gear.See you later.
Happy St Paddy's day everyone! I've been lurking a bit the past few days - just too brain dead to chat. Finished moving the dirt late Friday and if I never see a pile of dirt again, it will be too soon! Saturday got up and hit the grocery and took back some baseball pants for DS since they were too small. Bought 3 new ones. Finally got back home after lunch adn promptly started in on finishing kid's bath. Applied another coat of the main color then went outside and planted onion sets - red and sweet onions. Started my seeds for tomatoes, cucs, gourds, pumpkins, and a lot of flowers. I also bought some romaine, head and butter crunch lettuce plants to put down as well as a pack of spinach. I'll get those in this weekend and cover them with my make-shift greenhouse - PVC pipes stuck in the side of the bed and bent over to the other side then cover with heavy clear plastic. They love it and it keeps me sane not having to run out every night and cover up each plant in case it freezes.
I worked in the bath again yestersday. I'm painting stripes on the walls and let me tell you, painter's tape STINKS! Even if I press it down hard, it does not leave a sharp edge when I pull it up. My sister told me about some that she bought at Sherman Williams that works great so I will have to try that. Before I started to paint the stripes I worked on the shower curtain and got all the way to the buttonholes and my dang "automatic" button holer is a piece of crap! I tested it on scrap fabric and got it working great and then I'd try one on the curtain and it would bunch up. Same fabric, same thickness, same everything!!!! I was so mad!!! So my sis told me just to use gromets so I need to go get those! I think the stripes on the wall look good even though they aren't perfect (in my eyes!) and once I get the window curtain and the shower curtain up, it will look great. I'm taking pics so I will let y'all see them when I get all done.
Spring break starts next week so we are going up to Smith Mountain Lake on Easter Sunday (DM is NOT happy!) for 3 nights. DD is bringing a friend and we're taking Murphy and the boat so it should be fun. I had no idea when I booked these nights that Easter was so early this year. DM is not really mad she just likes her family together on Easter. I would have switched it but DH has an appt Wed afternoon that we return that he cannot move. Oh well!
Ok, back to work now. Chat later!

Had quite a busy morning..sure do hope Paul wasn't going to give us Monday off for a 4 day weekend because I've booked almost all of it..if jokingly he says he was then I'll say we'll take Thurs. afternoon off instead..lol
Jeannine, I'll enjoy seeing photo's of the childrens' bathroom..think you are a critic and should be..stripes is nice..girlfriend did that in her living room except she used the same color but changed the stripes from gloss to matt to satin..you wouldn't think you'd notice but you sure do..looks neat..grommets for the curtains is probably the best...easy to do..
Hard to please all our parents right? Just ask Liz..lol..I also asked the boys about Easter, Jeff has the boys but must bring them home for hockey for 11:30 Sunday, now why do they have hockey on Easter Sunday..give your head a shake.. Melanie says Sat. would be fine with her..so guess it's Saturday for me...are you going in the opposite direction to your moms' or could you drop in for a few hours and make her feel better...will she be alone???
You'll have the pontoon boat out already? guess the weather gives you more use time..the Foxy Lady is sitting in my yard..don't think she'll shee water until mid-June unless things change..
I'm so envious, you are so ahead of us with regards to gardening..it's not even as though I can say we'll have longer at the end of the season because we won't...
ha, ha girls but this year i make all happy american easter is for dh' family and our easter i think is the 27 th of april so both sides are happy whoo hoo!!!

What busy lives we all lead. Everyone working on something. Shar, I am really glad that you are feeling well enough to tackle a cleaning job. Wonderful news, just don't over do now.
Jeannine, you put me to shame with your energy. It sounds as though you are lovingly restoring/remodeling your home. I always love that.
Hello to everyone. Hope that everyone will have a wonderful week ahead.

GG,
YEARS ago--when I sewed all my own clothes--I tried using the "Button-hole" attachment, but it never worked rigtht for me--in my anal opinion--SO--I always went back to the zig-zag left and right stitch way of doing buttonholes....felt a lot more comfy with that.....

Just got home, was a d-mail from Cat (whom I d-mailed when I thought it was her father who had passed away...
Hope you don't mind Cat.. I'll share with others, we all wondered where you were...
Thanks Betty! It wasn't my dad it was jordankittyjo. I've been in the hsp with my mom since last Sun though! She collapsed at church last Sun night and they life flighted her to the hsp. Turned out she had 5 bypasses done. I just got back and am utterly pooped! But she is gaining ground now, eating again and gaining strength.
I just signed in real quick to let my seed grtoup know I'm back and will get the seeds out tomorrow and answer dmails. Think I'm gonna crash for a bit now. I have averaged 3-4 hours of sleep all week.
Catch you later
Hello there..my Janome attachment does wonderful button holes..simply put the button in the attachment and it follows suit...how are the seedlings coming along...
Laura, June dropped in this evening and we talked 'teddy bears' well she just called again, said she had a teddy all cut out and pinned..not sure where the pattern is for sewing but says it's just sewing made easy 1-2-3 so she's dropping it off for me to mail to you..will also check my furs....
Mom just called, they are leaving Florida on Sunday so should arrive Tuesday or Wednesday..she's not anxious to leave 80 degree weather but is anxious to be back to see we her family...
Best of today..was quite busy at work, made the day go by..
Worse of today..watch what I ate, but tonight my tummy is really bad....
What did I learn today..my cousin Barb called..wanted to know if I'd paint 150 wine glasses..her daughter is getting married this fall..told her to pick up 6, I'd do different designs on them for her to choose from..
Believe it or not I've done over 1,000.. many 200-250 for wedding favors..been at least 5 years since I've done any..with wedding being in the fall it will give me something to do..i.e. sitting outside, relaxing, brush in hand this summer so I've agreed...
Well it's off to bed..tried to stay up to watch 'dancing with the stars' but bed seems to be calling me..will take meds now and perhaps a good night sleep will come...
Hope you all enjoyed your day...enjoyed gabbing with some of you and missed some who were not able to post today...
Night/night and God bless!
Well, Betty,
I saw Dancing with the stars tonight--but will miss it tomorrow as i work until 10PM. You will have to fill me in.....
I was watching all the women contestants sitting on the sidelines watching all the men dance tonight. Their turn will be tomorrow. Everyone was happy, smiling etc...and then there was Priscilla Presley------sitting there as if her face will crack if she smiled......maybe it will--me thinks she has had some plastic surgery in preparation for this youth-oriented event....her lips were just a bit puckered up all the time.....I can't wait to see just what she can do! I think she is this Season's "token Senior".....
Betty--in 1956, when i was in Nursing School (never finished it---sadly...), I was asked by someone to do 150 place cards for the senior graduating class. Of course--I did! They wanted something with cartoon characters--so i did Mickey Mouse and all the others......ALL by hand and all in color on these little folded cards! I worked day and night on those things!
My Thank You gift for doing all that was a Sterling Silver, engraved-with- a- rose- pattern, cuff bracelet made by a very famous Silver company here(whose name escapes me at this moment....."Kirk"???). Since I seldom wear fancy jewelery--I passed it on to my daughter in Seattle a few years ago--who wears even less jewelery than I do. I just hope she considers it an "heirloom" some day......
Went and got my taxes done today--FREE! Sure pays to be a Senior in some instances!
Now off to bed--and then see what i can get done tomorrow.....
Ta--taaa,
Gita
