So, I am sorry to have awaken(didn't know there was a time difference). LOL not on my cell or DH would have taken it away...hahaha, so I said nothing and used the land phone and will cheerfully give him 10 bucks when the bill comes, so don't you worry about the cost Betty, Hearing you, and knowing my call made you happy was the Best V-day present to my self.

Survived my trip to town, Carol you warned me too late..left the stained glass studio $240.00 later...saw is now repaired, new blade, new grommets, new belt..good as new...

Got the groceries, stopped into T&G Fabrics, they tried to talk me into the Janome 1100..price tag over $5,000..not a whole lot different than the one I had..excuse me, don't sew enough anymore to justify the purchase..but it sure was a nice one...tried to tell me how much I'd get for mine, left before we got speaking of specifics..lol

Got my birth certificate at Puralator, did banking (what was left of it) lol, went to the new Midland repo store and guess what, they had a lamp, for me not suitable but for Michelle who will try a lamp shade this weekend it's great, so purchased maroon glass as to pick up color in the base...got the tri-light lamp for a whopping $3.00 so that was my day bargains...

Didn't go out and really look at the table top but when at the stained glass studio I looked to see the wides foil that one can buy..you know what, I just might fix it IF it's not in 200 pieces..we'll see, might make a treasure out of it...

Gayle was working on the most remarkable panel..using jewelery, agates, stones etc. oh my goodness it's gorgeous..I want one..so, one Saturday I've nothing planned I'll drop in and get one done...

Starting tomato maccoroni soup, so must leave for awhile or else, well you know what will happen...

I'm back on a roll, everything I need in the house to occupy myself for 3 days....

You know I was thinking about today and I will say that each of you makes it so easy for me to be me!! I am happy that you all are my inspiration. I am glad to wake each day wondering what you are all up to. I love to hear about your children and what you are working on.

Well i think I got everyone for yesterday...My day was great just reading about your days. My DD#1 gave us each a cut out card A heart that read Happy V-Day and signed it with love, who could ask for anything better.
I will tell you this one story...This lady at work was basically left holding down the fort to an entire groups...Oh gosh she was ranting and raving I could hear her all they way over which is quite a ways, anyway when it finally got quite, I waited Then I went to her area, Wrapped my arms arounds her and said Things will be ok, You just do what you can. She fell to pieces and just cried. Ranted somemore, and as Always, the nosey being that i am found the one calming thing in her office. A stunningly beautifull garland that she herself knitted...Well we got to chatting about it and all of you and she calmed and was smiling before I left. That made me feel especially good.
In the evening I was Very Excited to finish up a wonderful project and start on a new one...LOL don't ask for Pictures cuz they are for my SP's....hahha they do Have MY Permission to share when they get it tho. hehehe.

Well...I better quit blabbing and show you MY Sp special gifts. They are at my office right now so I can see them all day long! LOL I actually cleaned my desk just so I can show you! Aren' they adorable! Thank You again SP.

Part of my day is to take all the parts and pieces from all over and make a single item with it. It can be one or as much as 300, That is why i love it...Very hands on. Anyway on my tables there are 5 different projects going on! Beats the heck out boring old look ups. LOL the only thing I want to look up is in DG, especially BWL.

got the jacket part done, the knitted neckband on and the bottom knitted waistband, so Lord willing, I'll do the sleeves on the knitting machine in the morning..

Hi all!

I survived the dreaded "doctor" visit. Luckily, my doc is very nice and we just chat. All is fine and I'll have to make an appt for my mammo when I go back to work on Monday.

My bruise is fading although I still have a nice deep purple streak from the inside corner of my eye to the middle under my eye. It's turning yellow on the outside and let me tell you, this is a good experiment for concealer!. So far, all of them go on good but don't stay put. Anyway, I really don't care - it's my badge of honor!!!

Just finished cutting out a new quilt. Now I get to sew all these strips together. I will post a pic as I get going on it.

Well, I'm heading upstairs to watch Friday Night Lights! Y'all have a great night!!

Judy did you get the mail I sent you? I am trying to judge something else I sent out too.

Ruby ya know we have the same problem. One room seems to be storage and in the last two houses it made me nuts. I try but I take two steps back. I wish I had money to redo the floor plan there and it may be easier to figure out but I sympathize w/you on the junk room.

Shar I have a couple of things that I don't know how I could make again either if I lost Greg, my man likes pecan pie too, me too but can not eat it or I will grow.

Betty I hate days that start like that, they seem to snowball. I don't have my angel yet but maybe there is a notice in the post office because I didn't get mail yet. I can't wait. Thank you.

Liz, Once you sign for your insurance to settle, there is a part that says this is it, you can not come back for more later. You have to sign it or not get the money. In California there is 2 years to file a Personal injury but once it is settled, it is settled unless something changed very recently.

Happy Saturday Everyone - I am not sure what I will get in to today. John bought the gallon of paint for me yesterday, might start that. I need to decide whether I will wash cabinets and sand them before starting, or just start. I am not looking forward to washing cabinets, nor stirring up dust. Might wait until friend who will be paid to help gets here on Monday and let her do it. ha-ha Oh yeah, everyone agrees that we also need to prime the cabinets before painting, so there is another added step.

I am also considering doing some wintersowing this year. Last year I spent a lot of time getting supplies together for wintersowing and then for some reason never did it. I have loads of seed too. I belong to our local freecycle group and was able to get two hard plastic kiddie pools last year that have soil in them. I had planned to use them for wintersowing, and might do it this year. Is everyone familiar with freecycle? I have been able to get rid of some things through the group, plus receive some pretty nice things too. I am not sure if there are freecycle groups in Canada or Australia.

The professional organizer will be calling at 9 AM today. I woke up a bit ago and see that our phone is not in its cradle. My son must have it. I will have to go in his room in a bit and look because that phone loses battery power if left off for very long.

Judy, how fun that you took the pink southwestern loot to work to look at. And already have a picture in the frame. How cool. I participated in a couple of round robins for garden items last summer and had lots of fun. I love the aspect of choosing and buying the gifts as much as receiving them. Some people choose the cutest little things. I also participated in a plant rooting jar exchange last year and that was fun too. I still have the special one that I received in my garden window in the kitchen.

Oh yeah, have one other thing that I could possibly do today and feel as though I was at least a bit productive. I bought a package of 6 Elephant Ear bulbs recently and want to start them inside. I got the pots and the soil together yesterday. I just need to begin. After the sun comes up I will start stirring around and decide what I will get in to today.

had a good day with my DD. It seems things are working out with us and she is getting back to her old self. she gave me a foot massage!! she finds it hard to show affection so i think that is her way i guess.

she is into quilting and really loving it. i told her about all yours and she asked if anyone could send a pattern and such. is that something that is possible?? not sure how that works but if you guys can then great.

i want to have a look around a second hand store for a sewing machine.. i used to have one but it died. i cant afford a new one but im sure i can find a decent second hand one... i'd like to do some stuff and its food for repairs and such.

Lordy Ruby I thought I got up early..you are up and at it with plans for the day in the making...I'd 'tackle the cupboards' that's what will give you the biggest winter lift..the hardest part is started..so between the painting, take a break and plant your elephant ears...I'm challenging you...lol..I think you go up because of the excitement of having the professional organizer call..and yep, you'll have to share some of her ideas with us..always a corner or two that needs organizing...my woodworking shop to name one..

Jeannine, pleased that your visit to the doctor went well..mamogram is a must..(look who is talking)..love looking at your quilts..took out my sewing machine, dreaming of the one I saw yesterday..oh well this ones fine..did some strip quilting to complete the sweater so this morning I'm here looking at the knitting machine, knowing it needs oiling and then I'll do the sleeves..

Dawn, how's the schooling going? You are so very knowledgeable re insurance/law is that what you are studying? How's Greg...

Laura, sure wish we lived closer, I have a sewing machine to give you but she shipping would cost more than a new one...I'm sure you'll find one...do you have WalMart there, they usually have nice machines that are very reasonable that would do just what you want the machine for..

So pleased to hear that DD is treating you well! Still no package??? Does mail come by plane or boat..maybe it's on the slow boat to China??? know the soldering iron was...lol

Okay, I just wrote a long post about what I will probably end up doing today. Wouldn't you know it? I lost it. So.....that means that I will report either later today or tomorow what I actually ended up doing. Betty, it sounds very easy for you to have several things going on at once. Not the case here though, I tend to choose about one project a day to tend to, not several. ha-ha Sometimes some of the items on my lists keeps moving down, down, down on the list to where it shows up for weeks at a time before I actually get it done. My bad.

ruby,i have a chipper/ shredder just love it dont have to buy mulch it does it for you makes the area look nice with fresh mulch there.

Mom just called me from Florida, OMG she's having a time with Aunt Muriel..poor SF Jim, trying to keep them both in line..mom talked Jim into taking Aunt Muriel to flea market this morning so she could rest..says she's not going next year if it means Aunt Muriel is going..lol..told her another 6 weeks won't kill her but she thinks it will...
Jim has been busy putting new flooring in washroom, painting outside Florida room, doing odds and ends I think just to keep from listening to them...he's got the patience of Jobe so let's see how he makes ot!

Got my knitting machine oiled, it's ready to go so by lunch I will have my two sleeves..doesn't take very long...

So off I go to use up one more burst of energy..got sidetracked by the call AND cut out another butterfly..lol..

Did make us some blueberry muffins though, stood in the kitchen and cleaned a cupboard NOT to leave and forget them..cleaned the cupboard, went to put the bath on and wow/wow remembered the muffins after I tried so hard not to forget them...MADE it in time..so we're okay with a muffin and coffee while gabbing...

Morning! Another chatty night and early morning here I see. I'm reading and having my first cup of coffee. Good way to start the day.

Work was horrendous yesterday. With the District manager and 2 other managers there.They left us a big mess to clean up. My manager assigned more jobs then I could possible do in 2 1/2 hours. Told my managaer that also. I don't care if I do get fired. You can tell we are disposable. But we did know that. Moral is really down. I did get most of what I thought I could do done. Enough of that.

Sounds like you all had good a good day. Well except for Bettys breakage. LOL What a good way to change the table top. Am looking forward to seeing what happens there.

Have to go and figure out something for breakfast. Hope I can get back later and finish.

Liz I have to work today and tomorrow. But at least the others won't be there today. I don't think I have ever had a job where the employees felt wanted. No permanent! Sorry your job feels that way. It is a shame because Betty is right. I work hard at my job because the manager is a good friend of mine. I have even stupidly worked thru my break. But I don't plan on doing that anymore. But some days I do think she is unfair in what she says.

vicki, me to boss and i are friends to but the rest of the corporation sucks when they visit make us crazy and bark orders and do the usual promises we work our butts off and all of our vendors come in to say what a beautiful store we have so that is what keeps us going lol no dont do that i use to hurry and eat and finish projects no more of that now i take my full hour and relax,

is this pathetic or what lol some animals have the life

LOL, I'm coming back as a cat or a dog! One sleeve done, off to do the next..I could just sit, but what a waste..snowing and blowing so just taking my day with ease, playing here and there, jumping from one thing to another, cut another butterfly..oh so nice to have the saw running...but by the end of the day I'm sure I'll have accomplished much...maybe I'll be wearing my new sweater...can't believe that I haven't used the old workhorse knitting machine in so long and a bit of oil and works like a charm..better not talk too soon...Sailor hates the noise of the clinging, so with each row she howls..better put her in a room upstairs...

I've done so well with making tomato macaroni soup last night, muffins this morning that I think I'll put a turkey brest on for supper, surely with being on a roll I can handle that...keeping the big roast and the challenge for tomorrow or Sunday if Jeff makes it down..doesn't look promising due to recent weather forcast..I'm hoping...

Betty, So glad to hear your meals were a success. How busy you have been so far this morning. Got to tell you DH asked me to do the banking today, so LOLOL my hands were shaking as I wrote a check for a large sum.
Went to banks and made the exchange, kept thinking all the way there Michaels is just up the road...hmmm, Mortgage or Michaels...Ho hum, had to go with the Mortgage, so I am back home...Think I'll work on the minihouse today, still have to put the roof on.

Oh gosh, Talked to my lil bro last night. All his kids are sick. Poor babies. He watches alot of movies while having a conversation so hard to tell if he was excited about the happening in the movie or the fact I started Lil Jacks blanket...LOL So I think I'll keep my hands busy with that in a little while.

DH, is away at the house this weekend so we will all watch a movie ourselves, and just get cozy.

Sat and watched a movie while foiling the butterflies..cannot work on my jacket because 'Missy' has decided she's very comfy nestled within and growls just like a dog everytime I try to move her..so, I'll move on to something else..

I'm going out to shovel front deck..sunshine right now, the big storm moves in tonight, so as a form of exercise as though going upstairs/downstairs a hundred times so far this morning isn't enough, I'll get a bit of fresh air..

Judy, warmed the homemade soup in micro as not to taking any chances in burning it..delicious, delicious..maybe this fall I'll take a cooking class...can you imagine the chef teaching me to cook...I'm just laughing at the vision I'm getting...

More laughs is I was sitting thinking that if I continue at the pace I'm going, and believe me it's slow motion, just enjoying the day..by tomorrow night I'll have done my lest and will be looking for more to do..nutso right?

It's just so very quiet here, had thought of an afternoon nap but I'll fight the tiredness as I'll get up grumpy and mad at myself for wasting my life away..as if that would ever happen..so, thought I'd post as I'm getting boots, coat, hat on to brave the elements..

Everyone seems to be enjoying their day..that's wonderful..

68 and the doors are open so will go and make a few twig trellises, I think. Yesterday I got 64 retaining wall blocks in a pallet for free and I unloaded them and errected a planter so I can not have to wait for another Lasagna bed to plant in another area in front. Floweres always get eaten by rabbits and the soil is too alkaline and clay so only desert natives, trees and shrubs in front at present, I need color. This should help me get color, I can block the rabbits and gophers out pretty much if I fence off the raised planter.

I'll post a pix later.

Betty I am not studying Law, I worked in a rehab setting for 16 years with all personal injury and work comp, you learn a lot in the field and my old room mate works for a huge PI firm. I can ask her queations Liz if you have some.

Wow Dawn, sounds as though you have your work cut out...I've the front door open as well, letting sunshine in, but rest assured it's the same temperature but only because I have heat and fireplace on..what I wouldn't give about now to be sitting enjoying that temperature...lucky you!

Job at rehabilitation centre must have been very interesting...are you looking for employment in a specific field...

Took my break, now back to work but the chesterfield upstairs sure looks inviting as both Missy and Riley lay sleeping...

...Well I have been working diligently on my little gift, and the last step part of it crumbled!! After pacing the floors trying to figure out how in the world I am going to fix this part...I got it all pieced back together, and being a fairly good crafter student...LOL, I podged it!! Oh glorious day it worked just like magic...booboo fixed. My son is laughing at me...mocking me singsonging I just love podge! LOL Betty you introduced me to my newest Best Friend...Podge, podge, podge! Ok break over, moving on to the next step.

I'm almost through cooking turkey dinner for me/me/me!!!
Can't stay here long, know it's almost done and that's when I get into trouble..lol.. think oh I can do ??? for 10 minutes and then in the garbage supper goes.so, here's hoping... I did turnip, mashed potatoes, gravy and dressing..might even share with the furries..

I did learn something though..when you do 8 muffins and they turn out, and you are working, working, grabbing one here and there, by evening there sure aren't many left..so funny!

It's been a tremendous day..sleeves are knit, attached to sweater, band and neckband..I did sew it to the jacket, hand sewing inside will wait for tomorrow morning when I can see what I'm doing..

Cut out 2 sets of butterflies, didn't like that the glass was so close to the same color, so cut another and exchanged some of the colored wing parts, I'm pleased with the outcome..tomorrow, the pieces will become 'butterflies'..

Thought tonight while watching t.v. movie that I just might take up a pair of knitting needles and do the bands of the dickie I'll do for Cliff..I find when I do about 12 rows of 50 stitches and then add them to the knitting machine, life is easier..so, it's either just sit down after a large meal and rest or venture on into the knitting..

It was so pleasant having the front door open, just to have the sunlight..new door with stained glass insert in on my agenda for spring..now that I've changed the front windows when I did renovations and siding, and, putting a roof on front deck!

Haven't listened to the weather forcast to see if anything is changed weatherwise..I'll just wait till tomorrow to see what Mother Nature brings..

Someone asked what we do at Winterama..it's the 108th Anniversary..we'll be have dog sleds, ice fishing tournaments, ice sculptures, snowmobile races, scoots, parade, dances, art exhibits..etc. really quite spectacular

What you all call "podge"----------Is that the same as "Mod Podge" sold here in all the craft stores??? --That white, paste-like goop that you use to seal things in with when, say, doing cut-outs on a clay pot ot a wood chip box? You just layer it on until it covers whatever you are "podging" on?

I have used "Mod Podge" a lot. Just wondering.......
