morning all,
wasnt that the most fun thing!! I cried too.... its so nice to be loved and appreciated...
Betty we all love you... you saved us all in some way as we have you and thats how it should be.
I think it gets to the very essence in some ways of DG.
I was once told that i wasnt worthy of this site as i didnt contribute enough gardening wise... but for me, it went beyong gardening. im no special gardner, i have my orchids and thats it. i love to hear and learn about others gardens and i contribute in other ways like friendship and love. i almost left as well and then i found you guys about the same time!!
I have stayed and will keep doing so... couldnt get through my day without you all.
have taken a day off today. boss wont be happy but i dont care.. i need it.... the meds are working well, have a few rocky days but you expect that... coming here always brightens my day..
well hugs to you all across the water...
a special kiss to herbie....x

Hi everyone..
I have been re-reading some of the posts and taking it all in.
I've been out today..went to a going way party for my old manager..he got a promotion and is moving up to general manager at another Holiday Inn. I made him a nice card with photos on it.
It was fun to see all our old friends again..my friend who is also retired and I went together..and they welcomed us with open arms.
Betty you will be iin bed early tonight...
Sharon..ouch..you take it easy..are these injections for the pain?
Jeannine..have a ball at the quilt show..I was telling my neighbour about how you make so many quilte and then gte them finished on a long arm machine.
Judy ..have you calmed down a bit now...so many thigns happening for you..wonderful you will have a visit from your sis and Grand Nephew.
Hi Herbie...
Laura..good for you..taking a day off for yourself.
Hi Trop..good plan..let the kitten decide what he wants..have fun with Sylvio
Hi Gillian..great cake..something your kids will always remember.."my mom made special birthday cakes..."
Hi Liz...Dawn, Cat..Rachel..
Ruby..any more on the organizing girl coming?
I stopped for a quick visit and took a pic of my grandaughters Grade 8 grad photo
Bye for now..
Beautiful little girl, Starzz.
The injections are a combination of steroid, anti inflammatory and pain meds. And yes, are for controlling pain. there are days when i can't get up or down, and have trouble walking.....
Anyway, the injections keep me mobile. No cartwheels, but upright and moving...that's what matters.
Tropi, Alice will be unhappy for a little while, but not for long....it took Daisy about a week to fall in love with Jazz. Now they give each other baths.
Just got home, and yes I'm falling asleep, was all afternoon..told everyone that at 60 (almost) it's hard partying till all hours of the night..
It's so very cold out there, need a bath to warm up and then I'll come and gab a bit ...
Shar, don't you be overdoing..everyone thought your painting and Judy's work of art was something else..I've hundreds more to show..lol..
You are all the best..
Glad you took the day off Laura..sometimes you just have to do what you have to do..tell them you had to attend a birthday party in Canada..see what reaction that brings on..might give you a few extra days....
Hi,
Well today i drove home in a much slower pace...ROFL like the the Speed limit!
Yesterday you can't imagine or lol maybe you can this insane woman with the biggest grin on her face...racing and dodging every pothole in the roads. Thanks for the nice comments about my grandaughter...
I just came across this quote in a newsletter..
Every gardener knows that under the cloak of
winter lies a miracle...a seed waiting to sprout,
a bulb opening to the light, a bud straining to
unfurl. And the anticipation nurtures our dream.
~Barbara Winkler
Isn't that so beautiful..you know that feeling of joy when we first see things sprouting..

Oh Gosh - I had a very busy day yesterday and didn't get to read here. What excitement and what fun. First off I am joining in to the prayers of the others for your great nephew Betty. Spinal Meningitis is scary stuff. Poor little guy. The biggies in my life currently are the "chipper" and the organizing lady coming by yesterday.
You all asked about the chipper. I bought it online at Gardeners Supply. It a McCulloch engine. It looks very much like the picture that Liz posted, but not exactly. Gardeners Supply also had a heavier duty one too. This one will chip sticks up to one and a half inches. It is electric.
It has been a cold week all week and I haven't been able to get outside to mess with it anymore. Oh well, the debri will still be there waiting for me. ha-ha I have used this week to get some things done inside. The kitchen cabinets are finished other than putting the knobs back on. John said that he will do that today. The lighter color makes the room look a lot bigger. I am glad to get them done.
There is over half the paint left over. I am thinking of maybe using it to paint the vanities and the frames of the mirrors in the bathrooms. Maybe it will have the same effect on the small bathrooms and make them look larger too.
The Organizer came yesterday. We started at the most bothersome place for me. It is a spare bedroom, minus the bed. ha-ha There is no room for a bed in there currently. There are three bookshelves, a large cabinet, a small coffee table holding plants and three gardening carts loaded down with plants. She suggested getting a baker's rack to sit in front of window to hold the majority of the plants. That will give me a lot more floor space. I ordered two baker's racks from Overstock yesterday afternoon. I can't wait to do that. The other rack will sit in front of our great room window that has just as many plants as the spare room does. All of these plants will live outside on screened porch during warm months.
She also made me realize that the hundreds of unread magazines that I have been saving for a couple of years are not going to get read. I am using a lot of valuable space on two of the bookshelves for them. I will be getting rid of them soon. She will be coming back during the middle of March. In the mean time I plan to continue doing what we did yesterday. Maybe a few more trips of her coming here and me working in between visits it will get it knocked out pretty soon. I am hoping. I don't like spending good money on all this common sense stuff, but need to hold myself accountable to someone in order to be and stay motivated enough to get things finally organized around here.
Hey ladies, we have to have more secret pal gift exchanges. There were two very heavily packed large bins yesterday of gifts of that I have bought in the past year or so that go to things such as this. I hope to be in with the next exchange. It is such fun.
Well, I am off to spend a little while in the spare room. There a still things in there that I need to work on.
Prayers will be said today for Matthew. You ladies take good care. Oh and Jannine, you will be only about fifteen miles from me tonight if you come to Charlottesville for the concert. Next time, if you know beforehand, we will try to get together maybe.
Ruby
Ruby,
Betty moved us over to Part #33. That's what the link was above for..."Time to move!"....
See ya there! Gita
