Stop and visit, talk all you want.

(Zone 7a)

We crossed, Janis. Is your wrist all better?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Janis! I would prefer your white over our white any day! Ours is all ice and it is awful. My kids are home today, and was let out early yesterday. Although, I don't think they let them out early enough as it was already bad at 8:30, and they didn't let out till 11! I think they were attempting to get their 'full day' in, but I believe they have to go till 1:00 to get that.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey, no fair Celia! I am in zone 6 and no signs for Spring here yet! :(

(Zone 7a)

(Making a raspberry noise!) Ha! You have to look very closely for them but the signs are there!

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

I was supposed to start PT for it last week, but still haven't called and made the appointment. I'm just not going out in this weather. I'm not one for the cold. I spent 2 days in the ER last week with my neighbor, she got that stomach bug and got super dehydrated, so we were there 7 hours on Tuesday and 4 on Thursday. Sitting in the ER got my back all jacked up, and I was living on Tylenol 3's and spending all my time on the couch. The Saturday, sitting for over an hour with my chin touching my chest, in a folding metal chair... well, lets just say, I paid for that too LOL

I'm still wearing the brace, but it is better, and I'll probably start PT next week, and postpone my appointment with the orthopedic until I've been in therapy a couple weeks.

Why can't spring get here????

Janis

(Zone 7a)

Yeah, make it hurry!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Well, I HAVE to go out in it again today! Brandon's cast broke, so he has to get a new one and they said it CANNOT wait!

(Zone 7a)

Oh! Bad news. Get going and good luck.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Appointment isn't till 2:40, but we will leave no later than 2 to be sure we make it on time.

(Zone 7a)

You've probably already gone but how did he manage to break his cast?

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Good afternoon, all!

So, Amanda, it is, huh, pepper? Now we know!! LOL

You girls have certainly been busy! I didn't even turn on my computer until just now--Now I have to play 'catch-up'--that will teach me to wait till afternoon. I was away from home this morning, though, and wrapped up in a blanket trying to stay warm this afternoon. It's only 36º F on my backporch as I type. :o(( We had thunderstorms off and on all night but nothing serious here. However, in Clinton where my MIL lives and where the tornado went through last week, they had golf-ball-sized hail last night around 10 p.m. That probably did some damage to roof tops, not to mention any vehicles that were out in it.

Celia: it looks like it is up to you to "hold down the fort" when the rest of us are away!

Terry: I never heard that about popping a dent out of a wood floor that way. That's interesting to know. If you hadn't mentioned the name of that mansion, I could have told you what it is but now I can't think of the name of it either. That temporary amnesia must be catching!! Is it the one in Asheville, S.C. that belonged to that gazillionaire? Drat! Why can't I think of the name of it now?

Janis: Valentine boxes--what fun!--cutting out paper hearts, gluing those paper doilies on the boxes, etc., etc. I always loved making Valentine boxes when I was a kid and even with my kids when they were in school. If I was there to help you, I would tell you to go take a nap and not come out till the kids and I were finished with our masterpieces!! LOL I'm really a wonderful grandma when it comes to artsy-craftsy stuff. Too bad my grandkids have outgrown that kind of stuff. I love little kids--it's when they get to be teen-agers that I would send them away to boarding school! LOL

Marcy: You are not invisible to me! We "old girls" have to stick together! LOL About that computer: is it just your son's laptop or are all laptops that difficult to use? I'm curious because I was thinking my next computer might be a laptop. It would be so convenient to be able to take it with you where ever you go. I guess there are pros and cons to everything.

Tammy: hope all goes well with Brandon's appointment and his new cast.

Marie: hope all your sick young'uns are well by now.

Talk to you girls later. I'm off to wrap up in my blanket again!

Mau

(Zone 7a)

I haven't made a Valentine Box for years! I think I'll make one for myself this afternoon. I'll take it to work as a hint! LOL

NOBODY is invisible around here! I insist! (grin)

I was going to mention the amnesia thing but then, I forgot.

I can see my lawn!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Celia: you always keep me laughing! see: LOLOLOL

(Zone 7a)

Two guys go into a bar...but seriously, folks! Take my wife, please!

I have bright sunshine coming through my windows and I am playing hooky from work today. I'll make it up later in the week.

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

I wondered why you were posting this late in the day. playing hooky, huh? should I call and report you to your boss? LOL

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Mau, I would gladly take you up on that LOL We had a Valentine Box Decorating party a couple years ago, that was fun, 4 girls, ages 7 and 9, and tons of construction paper, glitter, beads, etc. They had a blast! Nothing that fancy this year, paper lunch bag creations.... I couldn't get to the store to buy the goodies :( They had fun though.

It is sooooo stinking cold :(( Says its 36 here now, but it feels colder than that. Not sure what is going on with the weather..... says a wintry mix for the rest of the evening. Some schools are already delaying for tomorrow, ours hasn't yet.

(Zone 7a)

You could, except she already went home!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Glad the girls had fun decorating the Valentine boxes/bags, Janis. Take a pic of their creations--I 'd like to see them.

It's cold here, too, but at least we don't have snow to deal with. Next year I think I'll go somewhere warm for the winter, but I have to win the lottery first! Oops, wait a minute--we don't have a lottery here in Arkansas--guess I'm stuck here for the winter. Drat!! ☺☺☺

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Celia, send me her home phone and I'll tell her you are playing hooky! LOL--but then if she already went home, does that mean she is playing hooky, too?

(Zone 7a)

Oregon does, and my brother there has been purchasing tickets for us. It's great to have people you can trust with something like that. If we win anything, we've agreed he gets half, no matter the amount.

Darrell just sent me an e-mail that funny as heck. George Carlin on him being a BAD American. If you want to see it, d-mail me. Priceless.

(Zone 7a)

She has on occassion. We have ANOTHER agreement, that each season, we can call in "sick" and not be in trouble. Today was my day.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hi all, no time to read and catch up as we are doing the mad dash house cleaning cause Shaun's Mom is coming here from the Hospital as everyone at her house is way too ill for her to go home. Everything went fine with his cast and X-Rays showed new bone growth. He goes back in a week to get a brace for another couple of weeks.

(Zone 7a)

Oh good, Tammy. That's what we want to hear.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL. Yes, my name is Amanda. I tried to keep it a secret in the forums but it never worked. So I finally gave up. LOL.

We had some snow this morning and I have pics that I will download tomorrow if I have time. Have a riding lesson at 4:30. Get home just before 4, do a bunch of chores, change clothes and high tail it outta here for an hour or more. Depends on whether she does any work with other horses.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Oh he had to gripe about getting another one of course, but he just had to get over it! HA HA HA
Amanda, I tried the same thing and gave up as well!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL.

I am hoping to get a new laptop ths year and am definitely getting a new printer. Takes at least 20 min to print one page now. Grrrrr. So time to upgrade!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I am wondering if it is DG that is so slow or if CenturyTel is having problems due to all this ice.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

It's DG. There is a thread over in the DG forum about it. It is even affecting me.

(Zone 7a)

Slow loading? I was wondering...

Can't wait to see the pics, Amanda. (I saw your name elsewhere, too)

Very beautiful day, today. Sun was shining, I heard birds chirping, the cats spent time front yard. They said it was 43º but it felt MUCH warmer.

I'm going to turn in early tonight. I have an early day tomorrow, which is unusual for me lately. I mostly work later in the afternoon. I'll hang out for a little bit but then it's off the bed.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Haven't been on since first thing this morning and now I'm going to bed..LOL

Marcy!! Pottery Barn is having a sale on their rugs!! Hurry, before they sell them all! I got a great one for half off!! Woohooo!!!!

Mau, all I can come up with, is that it seems it starts with a B? I'd do a search, but I don't know what to search for! I don't think they call it something or other mansion, it's something or other home, it seems?

Oh yea, and it's cold here. Going to -3º tonight, but warming up to a whole 19º tomorrow!! Then a heat wave sets in and we might even reach 30º!!! But then alas, another cold front and back down to -7º we go....all but 17 months of my life as been spent here, so this isn't unusual or different. Just the way it is.☺

So anyway...LOL...night all!

(Zone 7a)

Good night, Terry. Brrr......

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

The Biltmore? Not sure of the spelling. I know that because its where the National Gingerbread Championships are held . Why do I know that? Cause my Sarah (9) wants to enter the kids division this year :((( LOL

No school again today, we are under a level 2 snow emergency again. YUCK. When it warms up I'll send them outside to go sledding.

My tattoo is peeling, but not losing any color. It itches!!! I'm not messing with it though :)

I'll be back later, gonna see if the kids will let me sleep a while longer, got up to check the cancellations, last night we were only on a delay.

Hugs,
Janis

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

The Biltmore, isn't that the "Lowe's" commercial? LOL
Janis, do you have some hydrocortizone for your tat? Always works wonders for mine! :)
It is sooooooooooooo cold!!! Had to turn one of the heaters off cause his Mom's oxygen machine blows the breaker! :(

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Yes, it is the Biltmore! I thought of it when drifting off to sleep...LOL Isn't that when things always dawn on us? Biltmore Estates? Thanks Janis!!

Tammy, what do you mean "you had to turn off one of the heaters?" Space heaters? Your furnace doesn't keep the house warm? Don't worry...lol...because ours doesn't either. The vent needs replaced in the kitchen and it's always about 10-12º colder in there. I have an update that's about to restart my computer. Let's see if I can get this sent before it does it...

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone. Good to see everyone at least trying to stay warm. It's not too bad around here right now but there is a storm on the way. I can see it coming at us.

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Good afternoon all!
Terry....thanks for that about the pottery barn. I will go look!!!
Awww thanks you gals!! It' nice to know I am not invisible to you all! Really...that is a joke around here...ok? It seems whenever I go anywhere, like to a store, the clerks will look right over me, and help the next person. Or...if we are at a festival or where there is a crowd of people...they walk all over me...no lie! Now...I know I am short...but come on!!!
Anyway...Dave and I have always joked about me being invisible.
Still on this laptop!!! Haven't heard a word from my son. Guess maybe I will have to bug him a bit...lol!
I have a niece named Amanda!!! And a cat named Mandy...lol. Pretty name!!
Well...know that I am reading all this....and with you all in spirit. But this typing on here is the pitts!!!!! smiles...I'll see you all later!!
ps....HI Marilyn!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

No furnace here, unfortunately! This house isn't set up for one, or I would have a WOOD furnace! :) We have some space heaters, some baseboard heat, and one ventless natural gas heater. Oh, and one of the A/C with heat in Sienna's room, but I don't think they are worth the money!!!
Hi everyone!

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Tammy, You mean it's set up to be all electric and has no ducts? Ouch. That would bite.

Marcy, here's the one I purchased last night
http://www.potterybarn.com/products/p9056/index.cfm?pkey=cprwrugwoo
It's going to look great in this room. The UPS guy won't be real happy. . .last time he blocked my front door. First when the pad came, then 2 days later when the rug came. That wasn't fun trying to get in the house. I wondered if i was going to have to go out the back door and walk around, thru the snow to get to the front door. Why do they like to do that?

Did the storm come Celia? It was actually sunny here today. Can't remember when the last time was when we saw the sun . We lose it again tonight though.

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Terry, your rug is beautiful!!! I didn't see any braided type rugs there however....and that is what I need. My house is all about cottage and country. Thanks for the link.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I want that rug!!! Would look great in the kitchen. lol. But we have palm tree curtains so gotta look around. But most likely won't get one. I just bought about $50 worth of stuff from Partylite. Ugh. And the worse part is it's only 2 items. Double Ugh. But it's to help the woman doing it pay hospital bills.
