Hi, everyone!!!

Beautiful rug, Terry! I'll bet it looks great where you put it.

Yes, the storm hit us. It took longer than they said but, BOY!!! And BOY HOWDY!!!

It takes me 20-30 minutes to get home but tonight it took 1 hour and 20 mins. Nasty.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Celia!! Glad you made it home safe anyway! :) Going to bed soon, so nighty night, stay warm!

Geez Tammy, that stinks. I guess the good part is electricity rates are cheaper in the winter? Sort of? So they say? Never lived anywhere with only electric heat, but I know I wouldn't like it. You know what my husband told me this afternoon when I told him his brother told me that their mother needed a new furnace? Well..lol..first he said, "what? That one from the '70's needs replacing? Dang! That thing is like brand spanking new!" I asked him what that thing replaced. Boy was I shocked. It replaced a coal burner! It was bought about '75-'76. A coal burning fireplace in the '70's?? My dad talks about when he and my mom first got married and they rented this place before I was born and dad had to shovel coal into it, but that was in the late '50's and here's John telling me about it happening in the '70's? Then again, his grandparents didn't get get eee-lec-trici-tee till '77 and plumbing was always outside. Am I spoiled? Just can't imagine.

Thank you everyone on the compliments for my newly acquired purchase! I received an e-mail that it's all been shipped!! I'll post a picture of it when I get it and get it down.

Marcy, we have a big rag rug in our bedroom. When I washed it, it pretty much all came apart. I know it'll last right now, but I don't think it'll take another washing. I had thought before it was 8' by something, but it's a 5'x8' also. They just don't hold up well to washing. They sure aren't dry clean only, I know that. And I don't think my guy who cleans my rugs would touch it with a ten foot pole. My sister actually bought this rug. She got it at Pier 1. It's been a few years, so I don't know. She only washed it once also.

Celia, rain? Snow? Bad, huh? Sorry! That sure doesn't sound like fun taking that long to get home!! We get more snow tomorrow. Yippee skippee

Oh pep, I don't think a wool rug in the kitchen would out too good, do you? Unless you don't cook, then hey! Go for it!! LOL

Whew, I'm off to bed!! Night all..

(Zone 7a)

Good night, all!

SNOW IS ALL DRIFTED AGAINST OUR HOUSE!!! WE CAN'T GET OUT!!! SEND HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No wait, we're fine. I just can't see across the street.

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

OMG it so needs to be spring!! The kiddo's had school today, on time, so at 7:45 I started the car. Went out at 8:00 to turn on the rear window defroster, and realized that my car was encased in about 2 inches of ice!! Sigh. OK. Wait, I don't have an ice scraper!! Have the remote starter, don't need an ice scraper. Had already called the neighbor to come over and stay with my Bubby, he isn't feeling good, has a temp of 102 (calling the DR at 9:00) so when the neighbor got here she called her hubby to drive the girls to the bus stop. Then he came over and cleaned off the Trail Blazer so I can take Bubby to the doctor when I get a hold of them. What a morning!! Broke a nail trying to get the ice off the windshield, about froze my poor little fingers off LOL my gloves are in the dryer. I hate snow and ice, I really really do. Why can't I live someplace warm?

OK enough of that. My little one sounds really bad, almost took him to the ER last night for a breathing treatment, he has a nebulizer here but we haven't used it in a couple years, so I don't have any albuterol for it, and I need to get a new mask and tubing. So after the DR appt, we'll go to the medical supply place and get that stuff. I did get him to use an albuterol inhaler last night and it seemed to help, he fell asleep soon after. His temp must be down too, since he is playing with his trucks. He was so hot when we got up. Mike gave him medicine with Tylenol in it at 6:30, and at 7:30 his temp was still 102, so I gave him a dose of Motrin. Seems to have helped. Fevers scare me, as Tori spiked 2 temps over 105 when she was little. Don't need to go through that again!!

We are supposed to get another big storm this weekend and early next week, Mike says right now they are saying 5-14 inches Sunday through Tuesday. Sigh. When is spring again????

(Zone 7a)

Oh, Janis, you're right. It DOES need to be spring.

Fever spikes are scary. It sounds like you did the right thing, though. You're lucky you don't have to do it all alone. ☺

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Terry, I think we are all spoiled in consideration of the "OLD DAYS"! HA HA HA
Celia, you are nuts!!! :)
Janis, hope your baby feels better! Mine threw up again last night and a bit of a fever, but is better today. Which is good since Grandma is here and she can't be around sickies!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Valentine's Day and getting some nice things! :)
I got the cutest Harley Dog with 3 bags of Dove Chocolate!!!

(Zone 7a)

Hey, Tammy.

Okay...for the record. Bugs I have eaten on purpose: bees, ants, crickets, worms. All coverered in chocolate except the worm. THAT was in Tequila. ☺

Anybody else want to confess?

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

EEEEEEEEEW Tequila is BAD stuff! I was sick for days after drinking that stuff!!!

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

Never have eaten a bug on purpose. YUK!!!!!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Me either, Marcy.

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Never eaten a bug.... not knowingly anyhow LOL

Back from the doctor, Bubby's breathing is ok, so no nebulizer treatments needed. Thank goodness!! He hates them, and I hate fighting with him to give them to him. Bad news is, they think its strep... so I'm waiting on the test results. I already called him off school tomorrow and requested his work be sent home with his sisters. He had to miss his Valentines day party today though :(

Did drag him to the grocery store while we were out, I felt bad doing it, but I really needed to go. Should have enough to get us through the storm that is supposed to his this weekend, early next week. And if I don't Mike will stop and pick up stuff I forgot.

I am lucky to not have to do this alone, Celia. I've done it alone, so I know how hard it is to be a single mom. It really sucks, the pay is terrible, but the rewards are awesome :)) Glad I don't have to do it alone anymore though :)

Waving to everyone!!

Hugs,
Janis

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Janis that poor kid! I am a wimp when I am sick, but I really hate it when the kids are sick!!!
Yes, I must agree, being a single mom SUCKS!!! So glad I am not anymore!!!

Isabella, MO(Zone 6b)

Hi, all. Just now checking in with y'all. I was offline all day yesterday on purpose. I just vegged-out and watched movies all day, literally--sort of like a mini-vacation--LOL.
Sorry to hear about the little ones who are sick. You moms have my sympathy--been there, done that--no fun.
Sorry about the nasty weather you who live in the frozen north have been having. No snow here, thank goodness, but the northern part of the state might get some tonight or maybe sleet and/or ice. We're in for another cold spell with rain in our area. It was 61º today and we enjoyed it while it lasted but our high tomorrow is forecast to be 46º. ☺☺☺
Biltmore!!! I should have known that! I've wanted to go there for the longest. and yes, it is the mansion on the Lowe's commercials. How would y'all like to keep that place clean! LOL
Terry, pretty rug! Send us a photo once you get it into your house and on your floor. ☺☺☺ Hopefully, the delivery guy won't block your door this time. LOL
Pau and I had to go to Conway today to get our blood drawn (again). I've been having to have mine drawn every two weeks because it is either too thin or too thick. Today it is too thin, again. sigh
Marcy, speaking of being "invisible", we used to have a newspaper columnist for the former Arkansas Gazette who frequently wrote columns about being invisible to salespeople, etc. It was funny--I guess we can all relate to that to some degree.
Judy, come on back as soon as you can.

Time for me to go get a cup of decaff. BBL
Mau

(Zone 7a)

I think it's time for me to get a cuppa. Cold outside but not too cold.

Sick kids, sick parents, sick co-workers, sick bosses...where does it end?!?!?!

No plans tonight. Going to veg on the couch with DH and watch LOST. Then maybe a movie.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I just wanna curl up and take a nap! But with things going on here it doesn't seem a possibility. :(

(Zone 7a)

I sometimes just disappear for ten minutes onto the bed. It takes DH awhile to find me and by then, I'm recharged.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I wish that would work here, but too many people to look for me! LOL

(Zone 7a)

Dang, Gurl! You need to find a closet or something! LOL

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

HA HA HA I wish! :)

(Zone 7a)

Okay, off to my coffee. DH is snowblowing what he didn't get to last night and I was listening to a mystery radio show.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Have fun!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Speaking of being invisible, the last few days i've felt semi-invisible over on the NE forum, so i thought i'd drop in and try to make myself noticed here!
And i recognize several of y'all from other forums, too...
¡Hola!

(Zone 7a)

Hi! Welcome! Sometimes I feel invesible, too. We won't NOT see you here.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

gee, thanks...
Don't you hate it when you ask a question, and no one answers it?
(that one is rhetorical, you don't need to answer it...)
Or i post something funny, tell a story i think is interesting, and someone changes the direction right after, and everyone follows that way... or no one comments at all!
i'm beginning to feel like the last kid picked for kickball again.
What is that little creature?

(Zone 7a)

That is Miss KItty Fantasitco. She's our mascot at work.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hey Amy! I totally agree with you as I have felt that way on other forums as well. I can tell you that you will NOT feel that way here! We all at least TRY to know that each is here, but we don't do it on purpose, that is for sure! Just don't try to remember each person, cause as we have all done, we forget someone! LOL So welcome to the nut house! HE HE HE
I can hear it now, TAMMY, speak for yourself! HA HA HA Or Mau coming after me with that flyswatter!

(Zone 7a)

I just got new flyswatter! It's yellow in the shape of a hand. And I wish I could spell.

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

I will take it away from you if ya think you are gonna use it on me! HA HA HA

if anyone wants to jump over and tell the story of how you met your DH, DW, or SO... There are some pretty good stories on there from a few weeks ago, but it has kinda faded lately...

(Zone 7a)

That sounds like fun. I'll give it shot in a few minutes. Maybe I'll read through it in the morning. Thanks.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

OMG - i went to buy my DH a gift certificate for a massage today - i am not a new agey kinda girl, but the closest massage therapy place is this place that also does meditation/yoga/incense/etc. i went in there, and the seats at the reception desk are shaped like GIANT HANDS.
i have never felt so weird about sitting in a chair EVER.

(Zone 7a)

ROTFLOL
