Chuck, I would love to try a lemon grass plant!

Garden Party - Orange - Sat, Feb 23rd, 2008
Arlene and Louise: I'll bring what fans I have...but there aren't that many...maybe 6 or 7...but this variety grows super fast.
I'm doing a small job this week and will have some 4" annuals leftover, which I'll bring as well...don't know what yet...probably Foxgloves, pansies, etc....but nothing exotic or majorly unusual.
I also have a slew of usable 4" plastic nursey containers, empty pony packs (6 packs) etc. which I can bring if anyone needs them. If anyone needs these items, let me know or I won't bother with it.
Dear Weegy 12,
I would like to have a night-blooming jessamine if you have any unspoken for. Is there anything I have that you would like?
Dear Kathleen,
No problem with the lemon grass plant...I will save one for you!! The first time you try it in herbal tea or with fish (my wife eats this), it is delicious. It gets better and better with time. The more you cut, the more it grows!!!
Thanks,
Chuck
Thanks Chuck! It will look great on the veranda, too.
JD
I could use plastic nursery containers of both sizes.
Thanks!
OOOOh Mike, I could use some of the 4" pots also. I have been using mine all weekend to give away plants.
Ok Chuck, I'll bring you a night blooming jessamine. I have little sprouts coming up all over the place. I can't think of anything I need right now but thank you anyway.
I am looking so forward to next Saturday, there's a chance of rain doggonit.
Thanks Mike, do you need anything? How about some irises this summer?!!!!
Rain? eek! Sorry, but if that happens we'll be overflowing into my garage . . . not to worry; we've done it before.
JDZ (Zina) just emailed me that she is coming and bringing shrimp salad.
The more the merrier huh Arlene, have a safe flight!
Arlene, would you like me to bring a table? sounds like there's quite a few coming.
If you have a card table that would be wonderful; My daughter is also bringing one. Thanks, Weegy.
It's a little bigger than a card table, seats maybe 6
Thanks that willl be good.
Done!
WC Gypsy,
I found straight pins so you don't need to bring any.
Thanks,
arlene
okay......
I am going to have to bow out, DH and I have a foundation board meeting we have to attend.
Sorry Mike! Next time!
~'spin!~
We'll miss you!
Spin
Stop back after if you have time.
You'd better !
Arlene, welcome back to rainy So.Cal. lol At least it's warmer than Iowa!! I hope you had a pleasant trip.
Is there anything I can bring to help with? Just let me know.
Spin, sorry you can't make it. Hope to see you again soon.
Do any of you use the plastic mini blind for plant tags? My dad gave me 2 sets of unused blinds. If anyone would like some, let me know and I will bring them.
I'm headed up to El Segundo for the day with my dad. See ya.
Donna
I'll take a few Donna, if you don't mind. See ya all Saturday.
I will take some also.
Me, too, please if you have enough.
Sherry
I'll bring you some, Sherry. I've got loads of them from empty apartments.
I really must have a built in radar for Arlene's parties. Hadn't been on DG for months and then, when I logged on today, there was a d-mail about this garden party. I've been MIA from DG because I've been running and training for a marathon. I'm happy to report that I did it. See attached picture of a very wet and windy day in Huntington Beach. (Do you remember the weather on the morning of Super Bowl Sunday? Yep, that's when I ran it.)
About the party, I may be able to come after all, pending a schedule swap. Thanks for calling me, Arlene.
Thanks, Mike.....
Hi All:
I am sorry, but I am not sure if I will be able to make it after all. I got a call last night that they finally were able to make room for me at a retail show I do up north in San Jose, first I had a space then I didn't have a space, then I was on a waiting list, then I wasn't. It has been a back and forth for the last 3 months. So now, I will see what changes tomorrow, otherwise, I will have to trek up north for the weekend, which sucks because I really wanted to see everyone and show off my new company van. Yep, I'm movin up in the world.
Well, if you can't make it, send us a picture of your new van so we can applaud! We'll miss you, and I will save your plumeria for the round-up in June.
Kathleen
Good for you Quyen, that's an adorable picture of you!
Awwwww, Kanita, sorry you won't make it. Do post a picture of your new van, we'd love to see it. We'll miss you. I will also save your night bloomer for June, just remind this old brain!
I can come AND STAY for the party. Yay! I'm looking forward to seeing some familiar faces as well as new faces.
Looks like we need fruits so I'll bring some fruits...not sure what kind yet, though.
Well that's the best news I've heard all day! ((((Quyen)))
(You'll get a real one Saturday)
kanita,
gotta see a pic of that van; congrats. We will miss you but do understand.
Sorry about this - but a family matter has come up (not serious but neccessary ) so I wont be able to be there tomorrow. Hello to everyone for me.
hiya guys,
Pam and I are bringing champagne from Thornton's Winery out here and have a question. Are there any other beverage requirements?
No Kir Royales please....lol.
Is water and other refreshment handled?
That's two questions, sorry.
See you tomorrow,
don
snowtop,
Sorry you can't make it; just be sure to keep an eye out for the BIG one at DrDon's in June.
drdon,
I have bottled water here and will be brewing some Costa Rican coffee so I think we are covered. Anyone that has specific drink needs brings their own.
Better watch me around that champagne; I might get silly.
You and me both, Arlene!
I'm bringing both hot and cold cups - forgot about the bubbly, should I get some flutes?
Even found some biodegradable plates.
Thanks for the hot cups; I wondered about that. It's cool enough, we'll have some coffee drinkers.
Flutes would be nice but we could make do with the cold cups. I only have 8 all-purpose wine glasses here. Jennifer took the champagne flutes & martini glasses to San Diego.
biodegradable . . my DH would be proud of you.
