That's close to the time I'll be going to visit my mom in OR, but if I'm here I'd be #4.
Garden Party - Orange - Sat, Feb 23rd, 2008
What a good start! When are you going to OR, Kathleen?
Not sure yet. Have to check on my "room at the inn" availability (my sister's house), and it depends on flights, weather, etc. It's so expensive to fly there, I take the cheapest fare I can get. End of April, first couple weeks of May maybe. Mom's birthday is close to Mother's Day, so I like to make it then if I can. Don't let me influence scheduling, my travel plans are too up in the air right now.
Sue and I had a very good time. I got to meet some new people, others sat too far inside of the garage and I didn't maneuver in there.
Donna (SoCal) thanks for the geranium and the blind strips. I will go look for a paint pen next week and byTuesday the weather is supposed to get warmer so then I will put the geranium into a large pot and label it.
Thanks Mike (JasperDale) for the large pot.
It certainly does me good to get out and have a nice conversation with friends. Thanks, Arlene for making it possible.
Here is the link to the wonderful surprise my granddaughter and daughter brought to the party - garden cupcakes . . .

Hi All!
I am so glad I was able to make it there. It is always such a pleasure to see everyone, even if we don't get to chat one on one. Everyone is a pleasure to be around.
Thanks so much for inviting me Arlene, and for going through all of the trouble and work to have us.
DD, Tanya was my photographer
Dear Arlene,
Thanks again for a wonderful get-together. It was nice to see so many other people. The group photo is GREAT!!
Thanks,
Chuck
You're making me hungry Arlene!
Thanks again for the photos and the great day.
kanita brought . . . herself.
She had to decline attendance due to a business trip. She called me from the LAX airport about 10 AM and decided to drive out straight from the airport. Yay!
Sorry we didn't get a pic of your new van to post; it's awesome.
Chuck & Loida came; pansit noodles arrived late and disappeared early so no picture; really need that recipe; I could live solely on those.
The living room couch is FULL of napkins, plates, cups, utensils that were left behind; this morning I am getting them all packaged up to keep clean until someone needs them.
Will spare you the picture of our recycle can . . . FULL of champagne bottles. Don & Pam . . you are corrupting us.
Also didn't get pics of Weegy's deviled eggs (topped with shrimp & crab) and your cerviche was wonderful.
Here is the "Orator" orating to me and Weegy.
I didn't make the ceviche though. Stater Bros. should get the credit. It wasn't that good and homemade is always better but I got lazy!
That almond champagne is absolutely delicious. Gotta get to Temecula and get some for sure.
Weegy,
World Market carries the Wilson Wineries Almond Champagne if you have one close to me.
There is also a lot of beer in my refrig, hardly touched. I'll leave it in there as I have heard that once chilled it should stay chilled to be good. Maybe Mike can pick it up when he digs your brug and bring it to you. It's fine where it is until you want it.
I love ALL cerviche
Don't forget to post your soup recipe over in the recipe thread.
Chuck,
Guess what I had for breakfast this morning . . the last bit of pilfered noodles.
Ok, Arlene, will do that. And you did tell me that Cost Plus has the wine. Will be going there to get some. Thanks.
yes
Arlene,
Good for you!! I will tell my wife about the noodles...LOL..
Thanks,
Chuck
I haven't seen any pictures of the cute little dog. Sue met up with it in the hallway and wasn't sure if it would appreciate the attention of a stranger. But when she spoke to it the little thing rolled over and let it be known that it would like a tummy rub, so Sue did.
He was VERY busy directing things in the kitchen and making sure the staff was doing their jobs and he likes to keep a low profile at these things, anyway !
Chuck - did you get the information on the electronic cat gizmo OK?
Louise, I would also come if it's a good available day with no other big Garden Tours in this area.
Donna
I can't make it on April 5th...have a plant sale that day. I'm good for other days, but make it for whatever day others can come.
Sherry
I'm thinking the end of April, hopefully the garden will be in full bloom. Sound ok Sherry? Right now I'm really trying to get a head count. Will keep you posted.
Yea Donna!
That works for me.......
Darn! I am actually going to be in CA during that time but in San Diego celebrating her birthday; I know I can't get up there because she is taking vacation days to spend with me.
You all have the great fun I KNOW you can have!
