Gotcha on the list, Spin. Mike will be a happy camper!
Garden Party - Orange - Sat, Feb 23rd, 2008
And you can give me tips for my dwarf Meyer that won't grow. :-(
Bet she can!
Okay, 'spin....linaria and hyssop...got it.
edited to add:
'spin, I'd love to have some of those leonotis menthifolia seedlings if you have enough...10 hyssops for 10 leonotis? 15 for 15? 20 for 20?

Looks like we are good to go; have to hear back from a couple of people on food but WE ARE SET. Looking forward to getting out of the Iowa cold and having the company of you wonderful people!
Thanks,
Arlene
I can bring Panamanian style tamales.
That's great, Kanita!
Hi Arlene,
Just replied to your DMail. I'll be there with my camera and something from cuisine de Bristol Farms.
This will be a first DG outing for me and I'm looking forward to it. I asked DH if he wanted to come with me but he said he'd like to stay home and rest. He works hard physically and has two hip replacements so I don't blame him a bit. Feet up, Sci-fi or History channel on and he'll be set.
See you soon!
Nancy
More new blood! You'll enjoy it, Nancy.
Thanks Kaperc! Looking forward to it with baby's breath - oops, I mean bated breath. ;-)
It looks like we have 3 or 4 new people to meet; after they meet all of you, they'll be wanting to attend the round-up at Don & Pam's.
Either that, or they'll wish they'd never joined DG to begin with ! LOL
I suppose this means we have to all be on our best behavior?
Arlene, I think you're going to have to have a tent put up, valet parking, etc !
I can bring extra chairs if you want...
Extra chairs would be good; thank-you
Think I have Dmailed everyone with driving directions; if I missed someone, pleade Dmail me and I will get them out.
Regards,
arlene
Arlene, bringing my own chair......
We can do that, too.
Thats good; thank-you
Anything else that would help?
Kathleen,
Looks like we are good to go!
Kathleen, I changed my mind. I made name tags and I can't find my straight pins anywhere; could you bring about 30 straight pins? I know I don't have any at Meadowbrook.
Thanks,
PS Don't go buy any; someone will have some.
I have straight pins, if K doesn't.....
OK, Sherry can bring them. Unless you want me to bring some too and we can make voodoo dolls as an activity. :-)
Sounds good...I have a few people as candidates for those dolls.......
Thanks Sheri,
That will work. Kay, you won't have time for any voodoo unless you want to cast some spells on my terrible looking plants.
Hah! Drop by here someday and I'll show you what an awful plant looks like! Our soil must be improving, though, because I saw earth worms for the first time last week.
Oh, I have earthworms in Iowa; if it wasn't frozen here I would bring you some. I steal a few for fishing here or there.
I doubt they'd live! Our lot was cut and filled to the max and the soil is very spotty. Things will grow in one place, but two feet away everything dies. I was told by a local nursery it was probably just disturbed soooo much that it would take a while to recover. I think that's what's happening now (after three years). We don't amend it because we are growing natives and on the whole they don't like rich soil.
Enjoy your fishing. Sounds like you'll need it for relaxation from the renovations!
Can't wait to get out of this cold and back to CA. I am sooooo looking forward to the party!
We just had another 4" of snow yesterday; I am soooo ready to leave here next Tue.
Arlene, you're going to love the weather here. It's gorgeous. Looking forward to the potluck. See you then.
Anyone want some fans of Russian Rhapsody DL ? It's an Evergreen, tall (28") , rebloomer, and a really pretty dark purple with a greenish yellow eye. I can bring them if someone wants them.
Pretty Please, JD
They're yours Arlene...I'll bring them.!
I'll take some too Arlene, I have empty spots where I've lost DL's and would like to fill them. Thanks!
We can share!
Yes we can. I still have a few night blooming jessamine for anyone who wants them. Kanita wants some but that's all the takers so far.
I posted a message about available plants on the other RU thread by accident. Please see here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=4552696
Donna
Fat chance, as few people have room or the type of landscape for them, but I have seeds for Cercidium floridum aka Parkinsonia florida (Blue Palo Verde) if anyone would like some.
Are we going to exchange plants at the party or before? We will be there as soon as we can get there but we plan on taking two potted scabiosa columbaria 'Butterfly Blue' plants, a potted Red Devil Verbena (a good ground cover!!), a winter cassia, four Echevaria and two lemon grass plants. If anyone is interested please let me know.
I can hardly wait for next Saturday!!!
Thanks,
Chuck
