Hee hee. What's the projected recovery time for him this time?
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 9
36 and rainy here all day - thanks a lot!
6 weeks, last time I got 6 months so i'm pretty happy. It's not only down time form him but for me also. Last time down time started in June, made for a difficult summer and my gardens were not tended as well as they should of been. I was ashamed of them for most of the summer!
Our temps were over 60 today - heart warming as well as body warming! This afternoon Becky and I walked down to the mailbox (remember we're on a hill), and our driveway is looooooong. It was half muddy and half ice, so we stopped and un-dammed the "streams" in it. Always a kid at heart!
Pixie - you're fantastic. Yes, I caught it (about having a bank). Best wishes for the patient and your patience for six weeks.
Victor - it's mostly just wanting to look out windows in four rooms, to see the garden is clean, that led me on to working on it.
Al - I packaged up the sunshine for you and the expected delivery date is in June.
Thanks Pirl! You've seen the little towns in Maine so you got it quickly! We have a post office and 2 stores too!!
One of my neighbors was raking and bagging leaves when I drove by after work today. Wish I wasn't working.
Pixie - your town has more than ours in NH.....no post office and only one store.......LOL I love it that way! I hope Brian's recovery is speedy and low on the frustration for you both!!
Pirl - you are something else! Why let a little winter keep you from weeding?! It does sound like it's great "outdoors" weather up there now! What fun!
Pixie - I do know the wonderful small towns of Maine and love them.
Debilu - There were three neighbors out picking up leaves with their mowers so I wasn't alone.
Louise - it felt so very good to be outside!
I remember last year at this time, when it was in the 70's for a few days. We didn't have any snow, so I was outside in my t-shirt (and pants, too) digging up a new bed!
Venu - how far are you cutting them back at this time of year. I did one rose today and then got back to my job du jour.
Better than any postcard, Louise.
Thanks, Pirl. Two gorgeous sunsets two nights in a row! Life is good!
Pirl, I didn't cut back any of the roses. I did put down about 4 inches of compost and every single rose out there was catching my ankles. A chainsaw came to mind.
I never took off the top 12" back in December so I'll try and do it tomorrow. You're really getting a big jump on the garden. Now I'll feel guilty if I don't put down compost, too. Ah, the chainsaw massacre of the roses!
Beautiful, Louise!
That's a nice one Louise. I need some of those palm trees for my shots.
Don't go with snow.
Roadtrip maybe?
What a strange day this one is. I've tried NOAA and Weatherbug as well as the weather report from my home page. WB has horrific wind warnings but none on the other two sites. Each has different temperatures and different forecasts for today and tomorrow.
Now it's about 50 and I'm impatiently waiting for sunrise. I'd like to finish up work in one garden and start with the rose garden but the winds (at either 5 or 50 MPH) might be a problem.
I also read about bad and cold winds here from 1 PM on today.
It's very foggy here this morning. We are in for some high wind gust later this afternoon.
Cloudy
Feels Like: 45°
Barometer: 29.67 in and falling
Humidity: 100%
Visibility: 0.25 mi
Dewpoint: 45°
Wind: SSW 8 mph
Sunrise: 7:15 am
Sunset: 4:17 pm
WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
9 PM EST THIS EVENING...
LOOK FOR SOUTHWEST WINDS TO INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON AHEAD OF A
STRONG COLD FRONT. AS THE FRONT PASSES...WEST TO SOUTHWEST WINDS
WILL GUST TO 50 MPH AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY NEAR THE COAST AND
ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN.
STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS WILL EASILY BLOW ABOUT LIGHTER ITEMS SUCH
AS TRASH CANS AND LAWN FURNITURE. THESE STRONG WINDS CAN ALSO
DOWN SMALL TREE LIMBS AND BRANCHES.
Sounds like we are in for a little excitment.
Winds are only 5 - 10 MPH now so I better get out and get done.
Love that photo, Pixie!
You guys have got some awesome pics in here!
Nice shot Pixie! ☺
Thanks Pirl & WC2, I'd rather see if the owl or golden eagle is in the field or not. I love to watch them, although my rabbits have disappeared!
Nice Celeste. Is that a real animal? 54 and raining here. Windy later on.
Victor, is what a real animal??
Edited to ask: Did you mean the deer in the foggy photo? No, it's not the real thing. It's DH archery target. It was almost completely buried last week. The warm weather has melted alot of snow.

Overcast and mild again. Not as foggy as yesterday morning. Heading towards 50s with a good gusty breeze. Expecting a shower or two and it is starting to get mucky out there with all the snow melting. Love the pics of the beautiful sunset, "deer" in the fog and that cute bird feeder. Wish the temps would last another week or six. :)
Hit 61 today!
We had 75 mph wind gusts this morning, with many trees and power lines down and power out for a lot of people. Mine only went out for a minute or 2. I thought I would get blown off the road a couple times on my drive in to work this morning, but the wind has now quieted down and the sun is out.
We're at our high for the day, 57, but when the winds got too fierce I gave up on weeding and came in at almost 4 PM. The period of rain brought me inside earlier but then the sun came out so I had no excuse not to return to my current job of ... digging up the miserable, ever spreading, Celandine! Yes, Victor, it's that time of year for me.
Well we had a thick fog this AM and some wind this afternoon but nothing like what was predicted. And lots of sunshine! I can hear the gusting outside now.
Down to 41, and wind gusts down to 44 mph. Dropped more than 20 degrees in 24 hours.
Wow - crazy day there, Deb!
How did everyone make out with yesterday's winds? This morning's paper said Rochester had the highest recorded wind gust in the state at 75 mph. It momentarily lifted a small plane off the runway. After that all flights for small planes were cancelled. We still have a lot of people without power.
The wind woke me up at 5 am, that's when the big gust hit.
32 now with a high of 44
We only got the high winds late in the day, after 3:30. So I gave up weeding and came in around 4. No limbs down anywhere around our neighborhood.
