Today's Weather in Your Garden - 9
Don't kill the messenger!
Interesting game going on now too.
Big snow predicted for overnight and well into tomorrow. Everyone ready?
Our area will probably get 8 to 14 inches. Good thing that about half of the last two storms has melted away to make room for the new stuff.
You guys will get more than us again.
We ended up getting about 4" of wet snow, a 'light dusting' was predicted.
We are only predicted to get a coating to an inch over the next few days.
It says snow showers tonight giving way to heavy snow fall tomorrow. Expect 5-8 "
Tomorrow night windy 20-30mph and snow, expect another 4-6"
Tues. morning snow showers early, peaks of sunshine later in the day.
I guess that means we can expect 9-14" of snow and it's going to be cold!
Anyone get any snow? We got a dusting, which is already melted. So far the forecasters are 0 for 3 this year in my area. Not complaining though!
A light dusting followed by rain and more rain. Looks like the sun is trying to shine now.
Near white-out conditions right now. The wind is blowing out of the north as should for a real "Nor'eastA"
No snow. Actually a little slush on the windshield this morning, then a little light rain.
Poor Celeste! You must be ready to scream.
I saw the grass for a whole day(well spots of it actually) so that will have to sustain me for.......? I don't want to guess for how long.
Get that spray paint working!
it looked pretty yucky coming down last night, but all the "heavy snow warnings" were unneccessary - a little snow stuck to the grass, but that's it...
Stopped snowing and we snowblowed and shoveled. So pretty now. Better than mud and the plants aren't exposed for the colder weather coming. I cancelled afternoon work so I'm having fun playing with mealy bugs and scale on my orchids and doing my taxes. LOL. Make hay...
Taxes already?!! You have all your documents?
No. Just the stuff I know. I chip at it so I'm not as phobic.
I'm working on my taxes too, Booj - I like to get an estimate of where we stand as soon as possible. 2007 was our first full year as retirees, so I'm very curious to see how it all shakes out in a new state, etc..
Celeste - I hope you get a break soon from all that marshmallow fluff!!!! You've had more than your share!!
Don't file before the third week of Feb - that's the earliest the gov will have the updated AMT info.
Well, filing is a different matter! I am just doing all the legwork of organizing all the info and estimating the possibilities now. Retirement is exciting! LOL
Do you use tax software?
No. That would take all the fun out of it. LOL
Ugh - can't even think of not using it.
I actually like doing taxes, and even though I'm not a "numbers" person, I found tax law to be really interesting - mainly because it was based on the policies behind the various tax code sections. It's like a huge puzzle and you have to figure out how it all fits together......or not.
About 17 miles from here they are measuring 20" of snow....I'm not going out and measure. It's still snowing so there is a chance, last time I looked it was around 14" outside my door. Oh and the weather man had to let us know we can expect another storm at the end of the week.

Wow. No wonder you need Tae Bo!
OMG, Celeste! That is a HUGE amount of snow! Stay safe and warm! Brrrrrrrrrr
I took the pic of the cardinal cause I love the way the red color contrasted with the green and white. I just noticed there is another bird down at the bottom that I didn't see when I took the pic. I think it might be a gold finch. Eleanor
Very nice, Eleanor!
Thanks Victor! Eleanor
Beautiful Eleanor! That is one of my favorite subjects...red cardnials in the white snow!
I haven't seen Cardinals in my yard lately : - (
Nice pic Eleanor.
Love the pic of the cardinal. One of my favorite birds. Well Pixie, I'm just north of
you sitting up here in Bangor. I was suppose to leave yesterday for Illinois, New
Mexico and Arizona. I am self employed as a truck driver. Yes, I own one. I do
get to see spring twice. My favorit place for spring in the Southeast. The dogwood
and red bud blooming together is just beautiful. As well as is the pansies planted in
with the daffodils. My favorite thing to do in March/April while there is snow on
the ground up here is call my mom and tell her the daffodils and dogwood is blooming lol
When I was down in Louisiania I saw an arbor all covered in pink mandavilla(drooling) Do we have smiley icons on here? Been in California and gone by orchid nurseries and
and have seen acres of nothing but rose bushes and rose trees.I do take advantage of
my job and have been know to bring home a plant or 2 lol
One more thing. Does photobucket work on here for posting pics? If it doesn't what programs work
the best.
Great photo, Eleanor.
The picture is lovely but gives a chilling effect at the same time.
