Today's Weather in Your Garden - 9

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ours were not bad at all. 37 here now.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Nantucket, sunny, clear and 40's I am out the door in 10 mins to prune.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

39 this morning but will only go up one more degree for our high of 40 today.
Sleet/snow and then freezing rain is predicted for tomorrow. Not good as I have to drive to Millinocket at 5am. It's approx. 2.5-3 hour drive to the hospital there. DH will be operated on at 9am and they are sending us home that afternoon whenit will be freezing rain. I am not looking forward to this for a number of reasons now!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh boy - tough day ahead, Celeste. Good luck with the surgery and the drive. Be careful!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Careful driving Celeste, and good luck to DH.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thanks, I think I may need it! I hate driving in anything except CLEAR weather! LOL

Don't trust the weather people. They are wrong a lot. Lets hope they are again. Knees crossed.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Unfortunately I am heading to Northern Maine....they always get more snow than us!! The worst part is that once you past Bangor, the roads are pretty empty, especially at this time of the year. The only thing you see is Moose, Deer and an occasional bear!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Good luck tomorrow, Celeste and DH. Don't forget the cell phone.

Celeste - I have been to Portland and Agusta ME. I can remember the interstate being BARE. All there was - was the interstate and 2 sides. It was a boring ride.

I thought I was going crazy yesterday. The fog was rolling right in front of me. The wind picked up and threw down a bunch of branches ON THE LAWN :-(

schickenlady I live 20 minutes from Augusta, that part from Portland up is not nearly as bad as the upper Northern part of Maine. I mean not even a rest stop for for a 100 miles. It's just so isolated, peaceful and beautiful when the weather is nice, creepy when it's not.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Celeste - good luck to you and DH tomorrow!! Hope the trip and the surgery go well. Eleanor

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Best of luck with the drive and DH's surgery, Celeste! And please let us know how it goes!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

It's raining!! Yuck, a good day for ducks! Had some freezing rain earlier. Eleanor

44, high of 48, with rain today. Yesterday turned out mild and I did some yard work. Weekend also looks mild and sunny.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Rain all day long. It's a good day of rest here.

Tomorrow we're supposed to get to 48 and Sunday cooler and 42. After that it's the high 30's.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

37 and raining. I can't complain about rain.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Weird stuff here today. Downpours and thunder and lightning with a temp of 34 degrees. Nice weekend then maybe a big storm for Monday. Ya gotta love New England weather. :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Weather seems to be crazy all over the country lately.

Crazy all over the world. It snowed in Iraq.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

We've had rain and some thunder. No lightning and no tornados.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Snow/sleet/ rain and freezing rain here today....it was a fun drive!
DH came and I drove up to Millinocket last night and stayed in a hotel. We were woken at 1:40 AM by a young lady(?) looking for 2 gentlemen(?) the names of whom she did not know. It was an interesting trip!! DH sailed through the surgery like a pro and we were headed home by 11:30 this morning. The removed an inch of his bone, then sent him packing. Isn't modern medicine amazing??

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great news Celeste! Wish him the best and get some rest!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

So glad you're both safe and sound and DH did so well. Yes, modern medicine is amazing!

So the young "lady" who came calling at 1:40 AM didn't ever meet her dates? Wow!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You would think the gentlemen would have the decency to write down the correct hotel and room number - no manners!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Glad you're both back safe and sound Celeste!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thank you Pirl, Victor and Deb.

Pirl, I don't know if she met up w/them or not. She kept saying
"Hey! Guys wake up!!"
So I answered in a not-to-happy voice "What for?" at which point she started to stammer and apologize as her voice got farther and farther away. LOL
When we went to check out this morning the lady at the desk said someone was here looking for room 23, but was looking for 2 men.
We were in room 123 DUH! I told the lady behind the desk about our experience and she gave us a discount. She said she knew who the night caller was looking for and they will be charged the extra on their bill! LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - good for you guys and great story. Hard to remember 123.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Sticky snow here last night, not cold though, and the sun is getting stronger now and melted it off the sidewalks. No way that happened 2 months ago.

No weeding done, I guess.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

See, if you had snow Pirl you would get a break in the winter.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Glad to hear all is well, Celeste and that you are home safe and sound. Hopefully, you and DH will get a good night's sleep tonight! All the best to you both!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Victor, I thought you had better handwriting and writing down 123 isn't so difficult even for you.

Glad the trip into the wilds of Me came off with only the little amusing event. Lady of the night. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I would have waited in the parking lot.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

wow patti - i really read that as a psycological exercise - take a journey of self discovery - a trip into the wilds of Me.

pixie, i'm glad things went well today!

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Pixie - so glad you are home safely and the surgery went well for your DH! Eleanor

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)
