How nice of you Victor! I did too...told DS to cut the wood out there in the woodline. He did and now has P.I. all over his hands and wrist.

Today's Weather in Your Garden 2
Ouch! I was kidding of course. If he takes after me, he'd get a horrible rash.
Oh.and on his ankles too..I do feel bad!
oh that's mean... this way you are without help for a while.... I make then rake... and Alec is really good at it... Voctor on the other hand loves to talk and I have to remind him to talk AND WORK!!!
oh poor guy!!!!
Does he get a bad rash from it Celeste? If it's beyond a certain severity, topical stuff doesn't work for me. I need a Prescription for a Medrol pack.
would you guys believe me that I have not yet gotten any rash from poison ivy??? I know I have touched 2x... and I freacked out for nothing... lol... but I got stung by a bee... and that was baaaaaaad!!!!!
They usually have to put him on prednisone....we are in hopes it's a mild case, we'll see. He doesn't often get mild case of it so I have already called the doctor and left a message. Might as well put her on alert just in case it goes haywire!
DD got it one summer....her first day as a freshman at high school she had, what looked like two black eyes they were so swollen. She had gotten it on her hands and not realized it.......then rubbed her nose & eyes. What a mess she was but what a trooper to go to school looking like that. Most girls at that age would of stayed home...she was/is not most girls!!
Wow, she certainly is not typical! Medrol contains Prednisone.
The older you get the more likely your going to become allergic to something. My first allergic reaction was with one of those tiny blackflies. It bit me on the eyelid. Eye swelled shut for like 3 days. I was on steriods also. That was around 1988. 4 years ago PI and hell broke loose. I will take a bee sting anytime.
I'm with you schicken...bee sting over P.I. anyday. Victor on the 0ther hand will have to pick PI.
Not a great choice since I get the rash pretty bad, but yes.
DD#2 had to go to Baltimore yesterday (Colin's mother) and she was driving from the airport to the hotel with the window down and a wasp flew in the window and stung her on the chest and finger. She swelled up from her chest to her abdomin and her finger swelled even worse she said. After she checked in at the hotel she asked for directions to the nearest urgent health care facility and they gave her benadryl - no epi pen as she was breathing all right. We used to carry an epi pen for her cause she was stung once when she was little and had severe abdominal pains for several hours after. Stings can be real scarey!! Eleanor
Tell me about it! Glad to hear she's alright, Eleanor. She probably should still carry a pen.
The doctor in the urgent health care told her that also. Wether she follows through or not.........???????? Eleanor
Good morning, everyone!
Sunshine - the fog' burning off - 36 degrees this morning.
We have coneflower plants from a friend of Anna's at work that need separating and planting. Anyone want to come help?
Sunny here...36 degree's with a high of 69 expected.
54 here going to the upper 60's and for Sunday, the big block party, it should be sunny, clear and in the 70's - ideal!
47 and crystal clear. Expected high of 72. Heaven.
Cold this morning - upper 30's. But I was outside in my PJ's, no jacket, taking stones out of a tub of cold water & clorox that had been soaking over night with my bare hands so that they can dry. I was frozen but I don't know any better. These stones were in my waterfall fountain and I'm putting it away for the winter. This week is a good warm, sunny week for everything to dry and get put away. Lots to do. Going to empty my containers, wash them, put away ornaments and solar lights, etc. Eleanor
It seems so early, to me, to be doing the cleaning up and putting away. I won't be doing it for another two months. Amazing what a difference two zones makes.
I think that we will only have about four weeks left, if we are very lucky, before the BIG FREEZE.
:( A much too close for comfort 33 degrees here when I got up at 6:15. It has rebounded nicely to 43 already and sunny. Probably a light frost here within two weeks and the big bang around mid Oct. Been thinking I need to get things put away too.
Wow - and you're 6b?!!
We are in that long narrow valley along with Norwood and a few other towns in SE Ma., always gets colder here faster and usually lags a little in the spring. Too far from the coast to get the ocean effect. I guess all the night time cold falls off the Worcester plateau right on top of us in the spring and fall.We don't get as cold though usually in the winter as the higher elevations do.
WOW - we could have the BIG FREEZE any day!! Our yard doesn't usually get it too bad until the leaves are down but guess what - we've cut down so many trees they aren't there protecting the yard any more!! Eleanor
Well, that means that there is less raking to do this year, Eleanor.
well, right now it is pretty cold... the only plants blooming happy and smelling wonderful are the brugs!!!!
Candyce - that was my DH 's intention cause he does the lawn care and leaf raking!! My intention was to get more light into the gardens!! Today's weather?? Don't know yet as it is still dark but the temperature was about 42 degrees. I think it is supposed to be much like yesterday. That will be good as I am cleaning up my containers from this year to get them ready for storage. Good sunny week for getting them dry. I know it is a little early to throw the annuals away but I'm going on vacation for a week and they would all be dead when I got back any way. We could have a frost any time. Some areas around here have already gotten below freezing. Eleanor
In the beautiful New Hampshire valley where I live it's a glorious 35 degrees with a light fog just below the tree tops. It's going to burn off rather quickly, as I see the sun kissing the top branches.
43 and very foggy here.
53.7 here but it feels like 53.
Sunshine and another great day with quite a few more great weather days ahead.
39 bright and sunny! Digging the last of the daylilies today, no more until spring.
I'll be out watering the gardens very soon. I'll be thinking of you as you dig the lilies, pixie
Thanks Candyce......did your plants transplant OK after the trip?
Yes they did, and thanks again (your check is in the mail, as they say)!! And we made sure that we covered them when the frosts came, just in case. It would be nice for them to get accustomed to being here, rather than in Maine, before the really big frost hits. So far they look very happy in their new 'digs'.
Your the same zone as me and I was careful to make sure you had a good root system so they sould be fine! I hope they make it and give you lots of pretties next summer!
I'll keep in touch about them. They'll get to write home from time to time.
A milder 38 today the first time I checked the thermometer. All the way up to about 44 now and overcast, wind is calm to very light occasional breeze.
