Morning all - First day of school today! This time I am old enough to pack my own lunch. LOL Sorry I haven't been contributing, too much going on and too much to comment on! Thanks for letting me in on your lives!! Mom left yesterday :(( but we had a great week together.
Best: being with my mom, her helping around the house and listening, also 30+ days sober
Worst: Plate too full - I need to edit and keep practicing better time management (timer on as I type)
Learned: I am too hard on myself for every little thing
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Part14..Friends
morning all,
jeannine, glad your spa day was a great relaxing day for you, that would kill me too having to board the dogs but murphy will have a good time with the others to play with hope you have a great vacation.
woodspirt, that was a relief

Bluekat..30 days..what an achievement..and sweetie, just you join us whenever you can..always enjoy hearing from you...am so glad for you to have had a nice visit with mom...I just got off telephone with my mom..of course she loves the casino's but she is always winning..told me she won $2,800. on Friday night and $4,200. on Sat. night...lucky lady indeed...she has always been a giver...I keep telling her that what she gives, she gets 10 fold back..lol...
Liz, sounds as though you've a wonderful weekend coming up..spend time with your family, most important thing in life...my youngest son is on vacation this week..looking forward to them dropping in on their way up the lakes...
Bluekat, I am sooooooo proud for you!!!! And I know you and your mom had a wonderful time. Now you are back to school and a whole new venture. How fun!
ethan and i had a great weekend, but my age is showing today.....at least I can manage to keep up with him for a few days before falling apart. we didn't do cartwheels and sumersaults this time, so that helped .
Haven't been posting, but have been reading yours.....loved all the pictures, and all your posts.
will try to be back tonight, picking up little boy toys this morning, and must make a grocery run this afternoon...so.....later, my friends.
Good Afternoon!
Wow, I've been on a rollercoaster ride since Thursday!
We in the Chicago area had one heck of a storm. Thursdayand off and on Friday.
Anyway, raced home for the kids on thursday. If, one can call a 1.50 trip a race. usually takes a half hr. I can do it it 25mins providing the emergency. whew, trees down ripped from the earth, limbs torn off and strewn everywhere. Pelting rains. Fortunatley everyone drove with every caution, along with lots of prayer on the drive. Turned out we actually had a tornado touch in the area. We were very lucky and got away with only seepage in the basement. Didn't loose any power, thank goodness. Our sump pump rain continuasly for about 24 hours. However we did have a wonderful waterfall for quite some time. This water come in the window-just didn't have anywhere else to soak in. Some people in our area are still without electricity... We couldn't make it to the wake on Thursday night, so felt horrible, but did not have to call the kids out of school Friday as no power no school. So they attended the funeral with us. Friday stormed some more-Just had to ride it out and clean the aftermath.
Alissa stayed with us. So I was glad she was safe and sound. Poor kid hates storms so didn't want to be alone in apartment. Was good to see her. She is doing great-Calls home every week. Will be starting College this week.
Saturday, we had a football game. We won. And the weather was perfect for that.
Cleaned the fallen tree limbs and hauled stuff lost to curb. Actually - took it easy watched a couple of movies in between laundry and house stuff. Then Sunday
A glorious day. I spent the entire day weeding! Was exhausted so took a nap at 9:00 P.M. Then of course was up until 2:30 A.M. Still tossed and turned to all the noises. Back to work today been nicely busy.
...Also finished the baby blanket and will send off today-lol only a couple days behind schedual. so here is some shots for you.
So glad that nobody was hurt during the storm...OMG..just love the baby blanket...what a keepsake..guess by now you've posted it...Wow Judy, talk about working full speed ahead!
Alissa sounds as though she's greatly improved both mentally and physically...starting college..how wonderful...
Your trip to Chicago sounds disastrous..and in heavy rains...glad you won your game though...
Quiet here at work for me (the norm) so still working on my Christmas decorations...should be making Halloween decorations though, it's almost JUST around the corner...
I'm getting excited for my 4day weekend..have decided to do ceramic tile on basement floor-inside project #1..my weekend challenge..if I'm lucky, I can take the old tile off and get floor ready for Friday..
oh, did I tell you that in exchange for doing a mural for Doug, his trade-off is making my back deck a closed in screen area...I'm so excited about that...
Keep thinking that tragedy must be around the corner, so many wonderful things are happening it just gets frightening..my nature is 'positive' but how many positives can one person have? ...am sure there will be many more, lol...
hello,
sorry i havnt posted, still recovering. very wheezy and coughing thriugh the night, you all know how it is,,,,

Laura, sorry you aren't feeling well..sure seems to drag on, with all that has been going on in your life probably your resistance isn't the best..let's hope it improves over the next few days...
Nice to have someone cook for you..sure miss DH as he was my 'cook'..did use up 3X the dishes and pots and pans though..clean up..well that was the real meal task..lol but do miss him..he would even make t.v. dinners for me as he knew I hated to cook...
Sneezing here..must have an allergy...think the girls were spraying today perhaps it's the residue...with not sleeping 1/2 the night last night it shouldn't be a late night...
I ate, came home and found more craft and gardening magazines, so I can't possibly go to bed and not look at them...lol...
hope they day was enjoyable for you all..talk later....
Best...hearing that mom won $7K at Casino Rama over the weekend...
Worse... a local company owes me $414.00 and said they'd drop it off today as it's been quite awhile..called him but he's not answering his telephone...
What did I learn today..it's rare, but sometimes when people owe you money you have to chalk it up to bad choices...lol...
evening all,

wish i had that kind of energy.
laura, hope you start to feel better soon,oh boy roast is always a nice surprise

Well Good Evening Betty and all!!
My DH fixed this crazy computer of ours! Don't know how, but for now , Woohoo I can chat from home again! Sure missed it.
Anyway wanted to say Glad you all got a good chuckle from the match story.
Hello Shar nice to see you come out and say hi. I hope you are doing well. Glad you had a nice visit with Ethan again. How's Miss Daisy and Jazz these days getting along?
Wonder, I hope you get to feeling better real soon. Sending a warm hug. Starting to get the creative bug again-ahh a good sign. Hope you find some cool beads.- Hey thats a great tip on the salt-are you referring to table salt or the kind to melt ice? I am going to have to give that a try! Your yard is beautiful by the way, nice pices you obtained.
Blue-ALRIGHT for you! A big happy smile for you. I am so very glad you had a great visit with mom. I know alone time with my girls is a always a loved pleasure for all.
Tropi-You know what? I eat at my computer all the time too. I try to keep the area clean, but my kids don't quite see it the same, always removing glasses and junk before I can think straight, now I am not Mrs. Clean (you know Like Mr Clean) but got to have a place i can put my stuff. But Computer desk is where I spend lots of my time -instead of in front of the tv. Bottom line is I just so enjoy chatting with you all.
Hiya Liz-It is so sweet of your FIL to give you the stained glass stuff. You are sure to have a great time learning and creating new pieces! --Bummer about your plumbing situation, hope it's all fixed again..Good luck with HD hope you get the job!
Betty, Wow, screening in your porch!! Wonderful, I sure think that is an awsom payment for a wall painting. That scene is gorgeous! I am just as excited for you. -I am playing catchup so don't mind if I ramble-- I really like what you did with painting the cage black, it really brings out the yellow in birdie! Oh yeah, Your Christmas ornaments are splendid-
Looks like you had a wonderful ride on the boat, so glad you got out to enjoy.
Hows your foot? Healing well I hope. --I am excited about the weekend too-3 days for me, but got a compost bin to build and hopefully fun stuff. Ceramic tile will be beautiful, have you picked out colors yet?
Lets see, I think I am missing someone, -- How cool you have a photo with you under a street sign with you name on it- Was that Carol? Neat story.
Hello to Tangi, I am guessing you are really busy again. Miss you.
BRB getting Tacos--LOL
this may look like a silly post out of the blue but whoever it was who had what looked like cuts under her toes --- believe it or not that could be athlete's foot. good news is, quickly & easily treatable.
i know because i ran cross-country in college & had it a coupla times.
hello all,
getting on them end slowly, off for a few days to get some rest.
Yes the salt is cooking salt. i but it in 2kg bags for $1.45 (4.4 lbs) we bought six bags and scattered them all around. then lightly watered it in using a spray nozzle on the hose. the area we did 3 years ago still doenst come back with weeds. you see, nothing will grow in salty soil, it basically kills the soil. weed killers kill the weeds but dont stop them coming back again so you have to keep spraying.... not good. too much poisons.
salt is a natural alternative and the most effective. good for edges of lawns, brickwork and so on. we will repeat it again in about a month and then thats it.
as we find areas that are stubborn, out comes the salt and then it goes away for good!
yes i think while i am sick i will tackle another bracelet. i have secretly been working on a little something for you all. its taken some time because of all the silly sickness i have had but eventually you will find a little surprise in your mail box and i hope you like them.
i have tried to note all your addresses but some of you are not in the address exchange...
so if you see people posting that they got a surprise and you want one too... well then you just go ahead and send me your address cos there will be one made for each of you waiting here to be posted. no, no, not telling what they are... you will have to wait and see.
think i might go have a dig around my bead box!
xx
Summerkid, welcome, please join in, we always are on the lookout for new friends...thank you for the information..and yes, never thought of athlete's foot...I've been bathing it in epson salt and then putting an ointment on it and it's doing much better..able to move it now...thank you for your concern...again..you are always welcome...as are other on-lookers....
Judy, wonderful that you've got your computer working..don't you just feel naked without it...yuk...I've so much information on my old one, am hoping Jeff will remember when he visits next time to bring mama the cord to have everything transferred...
Liz, you'd make a good companion for mom and sister..dogs are their lives...I'll tell you a story another time about mom and her schnauzzer...think he got my inheritance...lol...
Boss away at meetings today so I'll be soooo bored..if any of you want to play, you'll find me here...
Do have a nice day...must rush! Driving in today as I'm meeting mom...looking at a 'chesterfield set' mine is 3 years old..who knows..I'll only get it if it fits in to my country scheme...she seems to think it will..mom's know better - right? She still likes to spoil me...
your so lucky to have a mom like that!
you have a great day, its almost bedtime for me...
nite nite
morning all,
betty, lol your going to come home with the show room... i bet you have a fun visit today,oh isnt it nice when the cats are away lol
we'll see how much trouble we can get into at work yep dogs run our lives, spoiled rotten
kenny takes the macho approach he always says stupid dogs then a few minutes later he's on the couch with his blanket bellowing where are my loyal servants (oh brother).
judy, nothing like no computer i never know what to do with myself when its down
funny story i went back on the hd site to re-apply, i guess it took it wouldnt let me fill out another one.
so its just for part time something else for me to do i for some silly reason i just dont think i use my time wisely
laura, you sound like your on the mend thats good news
jan, where have you been hidding?
everyone have a wonderful day liz
Yesterday I think was one of the best days of my life! Totally gonna sail thru today the same way, cause I like cloud nine personally.
Best: SO much to say here, got to see some beautiful things, wa a fun day at work, daughter started back to school...etc
NO worst, wasn't even thinking about worsts
What I learned: hmmmmmm......I'd like to think good things come to people that deserve it, but it's more than that, good things come to those who work for them and ask for them nicely :)
Trop...wow, now that's a special kind of say for sure! Now you have us on edge as to what so wonderful happened..sometimes, it can just be random acts of kindness done to you or that you've done for someone else..think good things do come to people who derserve it, but, those who deserve it, usually work towards the betterment of mankind..
good for you...
Boss told me yesterday to take extended lunch to visit with mom..so, I'm meeting her at 11:00 about 1/2 hr. from here...trying to be back for 2:00..gives me 3 hrs to play..lol..as though I'm not playing here...
I love to paint but can't compete with this artist...***no pop ups ***
http://www.shangralafamilyfun.com/gpaints.html
I've been meaning to post for ages but it seems like every time I start, I get interupted and never get a chance to finish. With DH and the kids back at school now hopefully I'll get some quality DG time. They're due back soon for lunch now though.
Lovely pictures, Betty. Reminds me of some other beautiful creations, each one of us. It's often too easy to forget how special each of us are.
Trop, I'm so glad your day was wonderful. I'd love to hear more.
I'll have to come back later, DD just came home. The others will be along shortly.
Well one cool thing is that I got a message from an incredible artist, Livingroom Johnston, who I started a thread on Artisans showcasing his art : http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/750754/
I also added another artist and planned to add more as time went on (and I know you guys are artists and I'd love to show y'all off, too). He messaged me with the idea off doing interviews of artists and posting them somewhere, obviously here, but I think he sees me having a talent scout site or something similar one day, and said it would be good practice for me to do some interviews.
So I am excited, and y'all will have to check out the interview when we finish it, he's quite a character, so I know it will be very interesting :).
Can't wait..sounds like loads of fun...going back to the thread to view the art as soon as I finish my post..see how I'm learning..know if I go to the link I'll loose my post..lol...who says you can't teach old dogs new tricks..
Well, had a nice visit with mom...the couch she thought was perfect was a little too big for what I want..style A-ok..but just way too big..so I finally said 'Mom, I'll take measurements and go home and measure"..think she told the lady I'd take it, but tonight I called and said nope..just too big for my living room..know it will upset her, but oh well, either I upset her or I'll have a courch tripple the size that I want...moms'
Best thing today..spending a few hours with 'mom'
Worse thing..needed O64 for 8 numbers to win the $3,000..no go...oh well, always next week...
What did I learn..ask Caleb what movie he'd like me to pick up for his birthday..said he wasn't into 'movies' but I could pick a 360 system, whatever they are called, game...think it's about 3x the price of a movie..kid is learning quickly...but it's a treat to spoil them...
So off I go..tired tonight..have to leave early..driving myself in..dropping of a car for BIL in the city...then if I'm there early enough want to go to Home Depot and look for tiles for washroom floor...
Hope you all enjoyed the day..those of you vacationing, sure do hope your holidays exceed your expectations...
night all...
Tropi,
Loved your new artist discovery, loved his work. will check out the rest of the thread, too.
I have been MIA, but keeping busy.....checking on you is fun, though, and even if I don't write, I do enjoy your words.
Will try to do better tomorrow....
all is well in my world, though still dry and hot. wishing for good things for all of you.
evening all,
tropicanna, how wonderful for you he has some great peices of art
gilli, glad your back nice to hear from you
betty, those pictures were beautiful, glad you had fun with your mom,oh the couch is to big oh thats to bad, but you'll find one that meets your room size, betty what is this bingo you play is it in a church or is it the one on t.v? use to go every friday dh myself and sil but we were spending a small fourtune every week to win big i miss it. lol maby next week you'll win big.
best: ac was at 48 all day it felt great the girls loved it to
worst:my boss tried to sabotage my vacation in october
learned: get this... my bosses dil and son backed me up for the last 5 years i have always taken oct 31 nov 1,2 off for halloween is real big for dh and i, and i need a couple days to pack it all up, well out of the blue she anounced she was going to take the 31-thru nov 7 off i said how is that going to work? i take that time! i left the room and she followed me all over trying to make conversation i just ignored her.
come to find out from her family that they went off on her and said you cant do that just take it away for your own gain, your not going anywhere.
gena her dil said she did it on purpose because she's jelouse and wants to be the control freak wants to get under your skin because she's board.... wow i dont know how im not going to strangle her(just kidding) but what comes around go's around i have been trying to think of what i could of possibly done to her but after the talk with gena i guess i'll say a prayer for her twisted soul, i think what bothers me the most is how her family took my side that tells me alot.. what is that saying keep your enemy's closer and your friends a far gosh i hope i can sleep tonight! everyone have a great evening liz
Shar..missing you 'lots' as we all are...glad you are settling in after your visit with Ethan..my goodness they can take mega energy can't they...no package yet? I mailed one to a DG member on the same day and they received it on Monday...so, soon..unless a customs officer want to make a quilted sweater..lol..
Liz..t.v. 'Bingo' is run by the Rotary Club...they sell cards in about 20 stores..about 30 miles radius and have 1 hr. on local t.v. station..the funds raised go for wonderful community projects..art in the park/Sunday night band music/local charities etc.
You purchase 3 cards for $5.00 game 1-$100 #2-$200 #3-$300 #4-$400 and then jackpot is $2,000 other than last Tuesday of the month, it's then $3,000...it's computer run, sometimes they tell you they have a potential winner, no one calls in, means that card was not purchased..hi tech system..good fund raiser..grandchildren love to play, last night girlfriend Ann who is up at the cottage for the week came over as well...enjoyable because you don't have to leave the confines of your living room...
Maybe your employer might have been having a bad day..you'll have to forgive her..thank goodness though her children spoke up..so glad you are getting the week off that you wanted...decorating for Halloween..you and I would surely get into trouble..love doing it as well...
Last year other than regular decorations, I made I believe 10 ghosts about 4' high, with t-frame and styrofoam balls for heads..secured it with wire..bought discounted sheets and put over the frame tying around the neck with ribbon to show form of ghosts, then I tied the ends of the sheets of each ghost to make it look as though they are all holding hands..I have mine to look as though they are running around the big oak tree I have on front lawn, but would be okay without the tree...then, I have motions christmas lights that I attach to the tree and 1 set on the ground..when in motion (at night of course) it looks as though they are running...very cute..even include the moaning/groaning eerie music..
Then, I purchased an old imitation christmas tree and sucured it in the ground, put several lengths of motion christmas lights on it (as though I was decorating the tree for Christmas...added some batting to top area, sewed several white sheets to cover the tree, bought cheap/cheap white meshing at fabric store (crinolin type), put about 3 layers over it..secured with white ribbon to make it look like a head and then cut the mesh only in 6" sections so that when the wind blows they blow as well and look eerie...when lights are on and there is a breeze..even frightens me...
That's some of my decorations...have a 6' witch that stands on the front deck with her brew, which actually make steam...so much fun..I've even gone so far as making a casket out of pine, laying in it, and when kids come around, I jump out..don't know who scares who, because they yell so much that I jump..lol..so do enjoy 'Halloween'...please share all of you some of your decorating ideas....
Was checking my documents and found this..thought it might bring a chuckle to you gardeners....
GOD FINDS OUT ABOUT LAWN CARE
“Winterize your lawn,” the big sign outside the garden store commanded. I’ve fed it, watered it, mowed it, raked it and watched a lot of it die anyway. Now I’m supposed to winterize it? I hope it’s too late. Grass lawns have to be the stupidest thing we’ve come up with outside of thong swimsuits!
We constantly battle dandelions, Queen Anne’s lace, thistle, violets, chicory and clover that thrive naturally, so we can grow grass that must be nursed through an annual four step chemical dependency.
IMAGINE the conversation THE CREATOR might have with St. Francis about this:
“Frank you know all about gardens and nature, what in the world is going on down there?
What happened to the dandelions, violets, thistle and stuff I started eons ago? I had a perfect, no maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought and multiply with abandon. The nectar from the long-lasting blossoms attracted butterflies, honey bees and flocks of songbirds. I expected to see a vast garden of colors by now. But all I see are these green rectangles.”
It’s the tribes that settle there, Lord. The Suburbanites. They started calling your flowers ‘weeds’ and went to great extent and expense to kill them and replace them with grass.”
“Grass? But it’s so boring. It’s not colourful. It doesn’t attract butterflies, birds and bees, only grubs and sod worms. It’s temperamental with temperatures. Do these suburbanites really want all that grass growing there?
“Apparently not, Lord. As soon as it grows a little, they cut it – sometimes as much as twice a week.”
“They cut it? Do they then bale it like hay?”
“Not exactly, Lord. Most of them rake it up and put it in bags.”
“They bag it? Why? Is it a cash crop? Do they sell it?”
“No Sir. Just the opposite. They pay to throw it away.”
“Now let me get this straight. They fertilize grass so it will grown and then when it does grow, they cut it off and pay to throw it away?”
“Yes Sir.”
“These suburbanites must be relieved in the summer when we cut back on the rain and turn up the heat. That surely slows the growth down and saves them a lot of work?”
“You aren’t going to believe this Lord. When the grass stops growing so fast, they drag out hoses and pay more money to water it so they can continue to mow it and pay to get rid of it.”
“What nonsense! At least they kept some of the trees. That was a sheer stroke of genius, if I do say so myself. The trees grow leaves in the spring to provide beauty and shade in the summer. In the autumn they fall to the ground and form a natural blanket to keep moisture in the soil and protect the trees and bushes. Plus, as they rot, the leaves form compost to enhance the soil. It’s a natural circle of life!”
“You had better sit down, Lord. The suburbanites have drawn a new circle. As soon as the leaves fall, they rake them into great piles and have them hauled away.”
“No! What do they do to protect the shrub and tree roots in the winter and keep the soil moist and loose?”
“After throwing away your leaves, they go out and buy something they call mulch. They haul it home and spread it around in place of the leaves.”
“And where do they get this mulch?”
“They cut down trees and grind them up.”
“Enough! I don’t want to think about this anymore. Sainte Catherine, you’re in charge of the arts. What movie have you schedule for tonight?”
“Dumb and Dumber, Lord. It’s a real stupid movies about…..”
HAHAHA... THANKS FOR A GREAT MORNING CHUCKLE!!
I HAVE GOT TO PRINT THIS ONE.
Hi-
Well so much for home computer...Now got to fight with 3 kids and home work, well, afraid hw takes presedence. W'ell just have too set up a schedual, eh.
Anyway, Liz - You know it is not so silly to always want to be busy. I guess i can say this cause I am exactly the same way! The busier I am the better off. When, not much to do my brain screams lazy girl! LOL not to mention goes brain dead at the simplest of things. So...during summer months (My slow time no work, no school) imagine how bonkers I am and become this super duper procrastinator...
On the work front, well bummer your boss gave you a hard time. Hope you stick to your plan, I mean geeze if you always take that time then you should have it now too. Glad her family stuck to your side. Maybe she had a brain freeze too. (lol trying to be nice here) Well anyway Sounds like i am going to look forward to seeing both your and Betty's HW decorations. Love to decorate but don't have alot, Christmas is my big decor time. As crafty as you are, do you make lots?
...Was thinking about how you were packing the "kids" for vacation...too funny, you probably have more for them than you. LOL We take Feathers with us sometimes on long weekends -she is easy tho just a jar of seed and her blankie.
So-where are you heading -I Must have missed a day or something.
Tropi, How exciting for you! took a look see on the thread. Pretty neat art. I do like some grafitti art as well. So are you going to make interviews? Will be really interesting addition to the posts.
Wonder, Hope you having a good day. Feeling better and getting some Warmth your way.
Gardengirl- thinking about you, Your day at the spa sounded Wonderful. How nice to get a good pampering. Hope your vacation is just as great!
Hi Shar-Glad your doing well.
Betty, How cool to make an effect of the moving ghosts! Looking forward to see your house all spooked up too. What fun!
So happy to hear you had a nice visit with mom. Glad she still spoils her kids, guess it's just a mom nature huh... Oh yeah, I am really glad you explained the tv bingo. What a fun way to fundraise for the community, not to mention spending a good time with your grandsons. My mumma and gm, were both BINGO CRAZY...LOL what a great memory of the two of them, Once Granny won the Big Diamond, I believe it was like 2,000!! She cried and gave it all away--Do you help your GS's as well as watch your own cards? LOL I could barely keep up with one.
So, lunch is over back to my projects.
Hope you are all having a Grand Day!
Judy
Nope Judy, sometimes he plays 6...tells the t.v. caller..'shake em up' and such..quite the card he is...lol...absolutely great way to fund raise...
When I was Recreation Co-ordinator I set up and in fact it's still running...a "Christmas in July" bingo fund-raiser...get donations from groups/individuals etc...play bingo to win beautiful hand made prizes..because $$$ is not involved, it allows children who normally cannot play to attend..parent has to pick up prize though...this particular fund-raiser makes mega $$$$ with not much effort... it's something tourist/people who are in trailer park and locals can all attend...fun/fun
Sometimes I even win the 'chit/chit' game...that's a game that if they call a number that's on your card, you sit down..last person standing wins..just goes to show you my luck...
Well just got back from Vaughan Shopping Mall..great eateries..still watch what I ate and still enjoyed my lunch..tummy full/full...
Stopping tonight in Barrie to purchase my tub and floor tiles..something very basic..then I don't want to use my stained glass electric saw so my DB is lending me his..(rather break his than mine) lol..so perhaps if it's not as humid up north than it is here in the city..I'll start taking out the flooring tonight and tomorrow night so come Friday I'm up and at it..sounds like a plan..
Judy...put in your bid on the computer for night-time so we can gab...
hello there,
on the mend. as long as i keep my temp under control its managable. have all these wonderful ideas of how to spend my sick days but then no energy to do it! lol
going to be a nice sunny day today so will just sit back and enjoy it.
have a good one
xx
Better rest, put those project ideas aside and recoop...that's what you should be doing...am glad you are doing better though..will be praying for you.....
Well, just got home from work and look at the time...helped SIL pick out a sewing machine for her 23 yr. old daughter as a Christmas gift..she bought same one I got for my DIL last Christmas...then a stop to Home Depot for, you guessed it, supplies and tile for washroom floor..then dropped in for the tile cutter at DB...so all organized for the weekend...
Best...enjoyed the shopping with SIL
Worse...drove my old car into the city for the guy who works with me...gave it to him...on my way, stopped for gas and wouldn't you know it, it wouldn't start..had to sit for 1/2 hr. and then off she went...
What did I learn today...that I've far tooo much time on my hands....
So off for something to fill my tummy and then it's bedtime..just think, I work tomorrow and then4 days off...
Must go through the entire house with vacuum..Sailor (Border Collie) is just now loosing her coat..I spend about 10 minutes every night with the comb, but there is hair balls all over the place...
talk in the a.m.
morning all,
judy, were going to the inlaws, they live in napa in the wine country about two hours from us i know we have to do a little work while were there, fil cant do nothing so we'll keep him busy gabbing and with my cousin going oh brother he loves to talk some times you have to wave a white flag infrount of him to get his attention to pipe down for a breather lol
the weather will be hot thank god they have a/c they have a hot tub but no pool:(
as for the boss she gets like that i haved learned to kill her with kindness and she genrally backs off.
we have lost so many people over the years(employees) becuse thet cant deal with her control issues, i love her to death but she can be a p.i.t.a..
here was the blow to left field yesterday she comes to work and says oh i have something for you she gave me a bird feeder that was going to be sold in a garage sale for a quarter by her aunt i guess her and her daughter got mad and said oh were going to take it back, and mom i want you to give it to liz(peace offering for what they tryied to do)lol and the dogs, omg thease two got the life they have so many toys they just love to go on road trips
betty, oh that is a great way to play bingo and a good cause we dont have anything like that here, got a kick out of lawn care.
we have a lot of things we put out for halloween , i like the ghost' s around the tree that sounds so cool i'll have to post as soon as i set up what kind of tile did you get? well i think i better get ready for work
best: boss let us have a/c all day without a argument
worst: she gave me a invoice to ring up turns out to be last weeks invoice had to do a refund for 3700.00 then re ring the correct one that took some time
learned: nothing
everyone have a great day liz
Well almost didn't make it to work..decided after I posted last night that I could probably remove the sticky tiles off linoleum to make life easier over the weekend when doing the project...worked my way 'out' of washroom...well this morning, jumping out of bed, entering the washroom, thought I'd never escape..that heavy glue from the sticky tiles just grabbed those slippers..was lucky to escape!!! OMG..slippers now in garbage..lol...
Liz, sounds like you are up for the visit with inlaws and making the best of it..you'll all have a hoot I'm sure...so funny about your boss..bearing gifts..lol...and Liz we'll all have to share the ideas and yard decorating for Halloween and Christmas...get's me just soooo excited..love all holidays but these are the best...can't wait...
Sitting here yawning..bored/tired..hate that I have nothing to do, Boss just came in and gave me my pay and I just shake my head..better I learn to mellow in the job and bring something to entertain myself...money is soooo good for doing nothing..lol...so maybe after lunch I'll get the paint and Christmas ball out and work on them again..want to go to $$$ store to see if they have little boxes that are strongly made..last fall I shipped out a lot of them to friends..2 got broken so I'll look for other packaging..then off they go...beat the rush..lol...just around the corner you know...
Well girls...boss told us that we've been good girls so leave early...and..no work tomorrow..we're excited...so talk tonight..
betty, still no package today......maybe it will be a surprise tomorrow, hope so.
I have Ethan again for a long weekend coming up...can't wait. Have already got things planned for us to do, then on tuesday just watch me collapse!!!!
Will be back later.....still doing fun things to my house.
Hugs.
