oh we did two years ago martha stewart life size witch and three cat shadow' s and you can print the pattern from the internet oh brother that took a while then pin them to plywood it actually came out pretty cool for all the agravation i will be setting up shortly as of oct 1 everything will be up and running i might get the lights up on the house monday that has to be the one part i hate, have fun putting in your floor sounds like you dont have to much more to do on it oh here's the bird feeder.

Morning, by the time I got home at 6pm last night and the girls came at 6:45 it was right into painting,painting...grandsons came over to spend the night and also this morning and took over computer..some of you know how that goes..so I'm up and at it this morning..Kyle said he'd help me cut some grass, they brought over a movie that they say I must watch, then I think I'll tackle getting the remainder of the flooring off in washroom...if I get all that completed then today will not be a waste...

Shar..oh what fund you'll have with Ethan again this weekend, and a long weekend to boot...does your son comment on all you've accomplished and changes within the house..always nice when they do..mine, always make the tour to see what I've been up to ..lol..then tell me I'm doing toooo much!!! Can't believe the package is not there yet..she did say 2 week but I didn't believe her...they don't give anything so it can be tracked either...well let's hope it's soon..would hate to think it got lost...

Liz..I just love that copper piece..did you make it by any change? Sounds like you are as crazy as I when it comes to Halloween and Christmas..but, I don't put mine out till end of September..but, should start looking where everything is..at least be prepared right?
How very disappointing if your cousin doesn't come, especially after you've been so excited all week about it..but you right in not letting it damper your long weekend...

They are calling for the next 4 days to be some of the nicest this summer...so, looking forward to it..might even take 1/2 hr. to sit outside near the pond and enjoy a coffee...

Well, while the boys are sleeping I should get up and clean..always hair from the animals..but, don't want to spend tooo much time doing so, because the dust and debris from the washroom will make it just as dusty, so perhaps I'll just give it a lick and a spit and clean once the flooring is out for garbage...

I just have to brag. We just met with the AIG coordinator for my daughters school--she has been identified as Academically and Intellectually Gifted. I wasn't surprised (she gets her brains from me and her cute looks from her dad is what we say), but still proud.

Her testing was so funny, and showed her personality/upbringing so much--fierce= freed, entertainment= concert...she hardly knew any negative terms. It was so cute.

Well today is Friday-Whoopie we get to leave at 2! I will be leaving at 1:15 (skipping lunch) Got lots to do in the gardens this afternoon and all day tomorrow! Then we are heading South, been invited to for overnight camping with some friends.

Yesterday-Wore my hair down, (never do cause of all the machines) and an outfit, haven't worn in ages. Received so many compliments made me feel GREAT! I was just a blushin with all the gushin. People were saying how it's the new Judy...thought to myself "no it is actually the Original me."
a little update, I feel healthy, happy- 13lbs thinner, smoking less then a pack and staying sober! Haven't written a single word, but I guess it will when it comes. I get lots of support from family! Also yesterday the subject came up with a co-worker and discovered I am not alone at work either. Our situation is slightly the same...so we exchanged #'s and will support eachother here!
Thank you all for your prayers and loving support / Everybit truely is appreciated with all my heart.

She was telling me about her boyfriends yesterday and cracked me up big time. Everything was cool with one boy she said, until he started cutting out hearts and giving them to her...I guess he was trying too hard or something. Then she made a point to say she still loves her preschool boyfriend she hasn't seen in half a year. Where does she get this stuff? lol

I don't eaat fish or meat but would probably like to go fishing, it's been so long. My grandfather was a great bass fisherman and I loved fishing with him as a kid. Good luck on getting the big one. I wish my old man would spoil me and do all the work anywhere for once, not gonna happen though, but it is a romantic thought.

I have tons of trades going on this weekend, but other than that, pretty dull. Hard to get out unless it's an occasion, and then it takes a day or so to recover, lol. Take pics on your trip, ok?

Judy, I'm proud of you girl..I'm impressed with those changes..it's worth patting yourself on the back..if I was closer I'd take you out and treat you!! Now Trop..you keep bragging because that's something worth bragging about...and I'm sure she takes after you!!!!

Well, plans do change..worked all morning on taking the sticky tile off the floor..now I was 2/3 done and thought why not put the blow dryer to it..came off no problem..now why wasn't I smart enough to do that when I started...then I found old 1980's type linoleum underneath and wouldn't you know it..they glued it down..so goodness knows what would be underneath if I start taking it off..so, I'm between two thoughts..

1. spend the time and take it off and then put new sub-floor and tile...yuk or

2. bring back my supplies to Home Depot and purchase the new laminant type that looks like ceramic tile..they don't suggest you put it in a washroom but with me being on my own and bathing - no showers..might last..so that's my problem of the day...not tooo tragic but still not as easy as 1-2-3

So, off to the restaurant for lunch with the boys, then a quick trip to Home Depot...

Also called and had a mirror closet door ordered..hope they will deliver by tomorrow and then 1 more room to install the same and all have been remodelled...hey Judy..I'm patting myself on the back as well...lol....proud of my achievements as well...

If you leave before I get back, please have yourselves a wonderful long weekend..will miss you all...

I lost you guys for a while, must have unwatched something. I missed you guys. My life is so busy lately. I am on unemployment and I have to look for a job every week several times and go to the unempl. office a couple times a week and I am in a 4 day a week class in the middle of the day so I get out and have to cook, plant, water, call my abandoned friends and my Dad who is having a Cancer scare right now along with his sister my aunt so it is so stressful, as I drift apart from My Husband, it feels like. He is off and accepting all this good and is proud but if I don`t spend time with him, he feels bad so I haven't been DG ing much. I don`t know if he really wants to spend a lot of quality time with me but he does't want me to SPEND TIME at home with everyone but him. Iwill never catch up to yall once again. Dawn, welcome home and give Greg a hug for me...think when they aren't feeling the best they want us by their side..understandable..now this is the first time I've heard you say your father is dealing with a 'cancer' scare..OMG you all must be so worried..will include him in my prayers...sounds like your life is stressful at this point in time...so just drop in and say hello when you have an opportunity and know we'll all be missing and praying for you all..do hope you get a great job with good $$$...that's my miracle prayer for you..think the big guy upstairs listens to my prayers sometimes..do see a lot of them coming around so he keeps providing and I keep asking..

Well, Greg picked up the boys to go for motorcycle ride on a new type of bike..Greg just purchased another snowmobile so the owner of the company knowing how interested he is in bikes got a new type in made by Bombadier and offered it to Greg for the evening..trying to tempt him I would say..

Well, gardens are watered, grass is cut, house is clean, new click-on tile is in hallway breathing...lol...must leave it for 24-48 hrs. to acclamatize to the room in will be installed in..I'll propably make it till tomorrow morning and then in it goes...not a patient person...when I was at TimBrr Mart (where I purchase all my building supplies) Mark who I deal with said he thought he'd deliver the mirror closet door tomorrow so that I break up my chores over 3 day period..they even know I'm nutzzzzz...lol....

All the boys will be back later, but I'm going to get into jammies and have a relaxing evening...

Worse...hmmm....don't often say I screwed up but I'm heading in that direction...lol..reading my previous post you now know the ceramic tiles have been returned..purchased click flooring tiles, thinking which direction to do them..had to leave them breathe (as if)..then Greg dropped in on way to movies and explained why I should not use this tile system in the washroom..so, it's back into the car and an early trip to Midland for me...so, I have another 2 options..

put new subfloor in, removed the toilet and then ceramic tile..
but, worried about what I could find underneath the toilet..flooring sounds A ok Greg said but now I don't want to take any chances...so Home Depot have nice textured stick on tiles for $1.89 sq.ft. so, probably that's what I'll be purchasing in the morning..my goodness, what should be a simple project is turning into a massive undertaking...oh well..I'm not giving up..worse thing that will happen is I'll leave it with the new stick on tiles till I have the washroom totally renovated this spring...

What did I learn...that I can't do everything I have the energy to do..sometimes I NEED HELP!!!! LOL/LOL

Best today: my house is tidy (not clean), DH and I had a nice time cooking meals for my folks, and I tidied (not cleaned) the garage, too. And filled the bird feeders. And picked up my little yard piles.

What I learned: Although I can do a lot, I can't do everything!
Also what I learned: I missed you guys!

Murmur..sounds as though you did get a lot accomplished .. I as well need some outdoor gardening time...not a lot, but a few nasty weeds sit amongst the flowers..just had my coffee on back deck..yard looks so pretty and tranquil, but, can see that I need a sweater for this early am so that tells me fall is just around the corner..oh how I'll miss the outdoors...can't garden in 6' of snow...lol So glad you found your way back home..did miss you...many are on vacation, can't wait to hear from them...

Filling in time until 7:30 and then off I go to do that 'floor thing'..hmmm, well at least it has entertained me for the past day and a half...

Hi all. Missed you. Took a tumble down the steps and first day up and around in many. Out in the garden for a bit and started collecting "tupperwares" full of seeds. Everyone who dmailed me for cleome, if you are in the address exchange, you needn't do anything. At this point, I'd advise you to toss your seeds out where you want them to grow in the spring. (Gita, if the offer still stands, and you're of a mind, I'd love some of your four o'clocks)

Forgive for not answering individual mail yet.....not very comfortable typing quite yet. Just wanted to touch base and say how I've missed getting online and I'll be trying to catch up on my reading as time goes on. A few pics from today and then a bit of a rest on the couch. OMG Tangie...a tumble..no broken bones I hope..been missing you but thought perhaps you were away on vacation! You must be in terrible pain...I feel so bad for you...nothing like bedridden in the last days of summer..now you just get yourself some comfortable chair or lounge and rest..only cure I would say..lots/lots of rest...looking out at your garden will surely heal you .. not physically but mentally...

If your orders aren't filled, I would love some seeds...thought I'd make a friendship garden with any that I receive from DG friends...only though if you've extra's....

Well, not going to say I need a man...lol...but sure would help with some of these projects..just finished sawing the 3 metal pieces for the spare room closet mirror doors..always have difficulties with upper body work because of a previous accident..so seemed like it took me forever...need someone to hold the upper track for me to screw it onto the 2x4..so off to get a broom, maybe it will hold it long enough to secure the metal piece...then, did purchase of tile, washed down the floor with STP, now I'll re-wash to make sure there is no stp film on it..let it dry and I'm off to the races..or am I ..each time I thought I was with the ceramic tile, then the click on ceramic tile I had to change plans..so let's hope this time it works..geezzzz all I wanted was a clean floor...oh well, day is flying so it's giving me something to do...

Christine called earlier, she's a friend who has a cottage about 25 miles from here..wants to learn how to do 'cement' rhubbarb leave walking stones so I went into town again and purchased 2 bags of cement, Bernice next door has rhubbarb leaves so that will fill in another hour..lol...

Well all the gardens look so nice, it is a shame the clock is running out for a lot of us to enjoy that. i have till about Thanksgiving normally here. B it must be so fun to do all the stuff on your home that you always dreamed of doing but couldn`t before?

I would have loved to get in a seeed trade this year but have no time to and no extra money for bubble packaging and stamps and little time to set down and do it. i have yet to do a seed or plant trade and am unsuccesful at cuttings. Sounds like fun though, maybe next year. I just had my first anniversary here.

My dad is sick and they are suspicious of cancer but my dad makes us all more freaked out because he tells us every symptom that we can not explin like the color of his poo and coughing blood, rib pain, kidney pain. It freaks us out. I think it will just be pnuemonia or Valley fever and and his enlarged prostate and undiagnosed diabetes is a possibility too. It is bad but I just will fall apart if I have one more immagined thing to worry about so I am trying not to talk about it or think about it and just pray with all myother prayers and just believe.

That's all you can do Dawn..pray and be patient..guess he's worried to death and anything he never noticed before he's finding overwhelming...we'll all join in with you for prayers..

Don't quite know that I call it FUN at this point..about another 1hr. and washroom floor is down..good quality stick on tile because I had no other option..but, will tell you that come spring that entire washroom will be done the way I want it to...

Got the metal tracking up, tried to attach the doors..little wheels but am tired and just can't finish it..probably another hours' work...took the folding door from that room and put it on the closet that the painters put their shoes and coats..so that tidies that corner of the world up...so my friends...I'll take a 10 minute break and then try and complete the washroom project...

It is just NOT LIKE ME to be this overwhelmed..(won't tell you that I got quite dizzy a few times)...I've done hundreds/hundreds of rhubbarb leaves- showing everyone how to do them..well took a run in to Atlas block and bought 2 bags of cement..now I KNOW what kind of cement..guys were out in the field and of course I couldn't wait, so I picked up the 2 bags, put it in the trunk..got home and it's masonary cement...so Christine got here and we mixed the mortar...put some gravel in it..just wanted to show her HOW to do it..so first thing in the morning I'm off to Home Depot for 2 more bags so I can do her rhubbarb leaves as she's not picking them up till next weekend...she'll never know the difference..

I guess I would *almost* have to agree with Greg..I'm tired out and still not up to par..these are big projects to undertake under the circumstances...when will I ever learn...

Dawn, it just dawn (ha/ha) on me that you must have esp because my Greg just dropped in on his way to pick up the boys from a birthday party and gave me pure (you know what)...told me I'd better find myself a chair and SIT or he'd be back to strap me into one..says 'no wonder mom you are not well, you are not a young chick anymore' so I said, 'nope, but I'm not 90 either'....

You know, when you loose DH's after many years of marriage, you can almost know what they would say...was cutting a tile and I could hear Roger say: "D....n you woman, you are stubborn, stubborn...WAIT, you've so many friends who offered to help do these projects but NO, you had to do them this weekend...where's your brains!" lol/lol..yup..could hear his voice sure as h...e....l...l....!!!!!! (or was it heaven....)

So off I go, one more burst of energy..must be all of you praying that I complete my projects...

Well, only a few more tile to scrape off and then it's the ugly/ugly linoleum that remains..and wouldn't you know..it's glued down..

If there was a pattern to these tiles, I didn't find it...trim to go back on...not that fond of the flooring but it's clean...area behind the door looks so much better now...that's one good thing...

Having a piece of fir cut into a door..will do trompe l'oeil..i.e. towels/curling iron, brushes, combs, catch all containers, flowers etc. on it..will look as though you are looking inside a cupboard...5 shelves to it..still have patterns from my last house that I did it in...but not tonight, tonight I'll rest..lol..see that already a project ahead!

Thought I caught this photo better than I did..took the mirror doors from crate and layed them sideways as not to break..Missy sat for hours watching the kitten..lol...

Mirrors closet doors are on and operational so I'm ready for bed...sure hope your day was as eventful as mine..lol..night night you all!

Tropi - That's so exciting about your DD. Hopefully having her be identified will give her access to enrichment programs.

Judy - It's so good to hear that you're doing well. You are inspiring.

Betty - I'd tell you to slow down but I know you won't listen. I do think it's great that you can do so many things.

We ended up with a very long weekend. The power went out for our whole community on Thursday at 1:30 pm. Everyone was sent home from school. The power wasn't restored till Friday at 3:00 pm so we got 1 1/2 days off that we weren't expecting. It was nice to get some much-needed yard work done and make a trip to the beach. My big scare came on Thursday just after the power went off. We were having some very heavy rain and then I heard the dreaded hail. I think it took me about a minute to be out at my tomato plants with a couple of blankets. We have several green tomatoes but none of them have ripened yet. I would be very upset if anything happened to my plants before I get any ripe tomatoes off them. Thankfully, the hail passed quickly and all is well.

Best - Having extra days with my family home. Having the power off was nice too - kids can't watch t.v. and one of our friends cooked us breakfast over the fire on Friday - yummy.

Worst - The 'presents' that our cat brings us are being left closer and closer to our back door - ugh.

Learned - DD1 thinks her mom can do anything. She commented that she wants to be able to build things as well as I can - I was making a little shed/shelter out of old scrap wood that was around the yard when we moved to this house. The shed has cost me only the cost of the nails. It's not pretty and I'm not sure how long it will last but it's better than nothing. I just hope she still feels that way when she's a teen.

Gillibean..so nice seeing you post again...didn't realize your school was already in..our starts on Tuesday...after nurturing all of those plants it would be so disheartning to have them damaged by hail..I still have to have my car repaired..2 day old and hit by hail..thought I'd wait till fall incase another storm comes through..

Guess you are all setting in after your summer trip down here...much the same here.. gardens will soon be sleeping for the winter..those big oak trees on the front lawn are already shedding their leaves...

Know about those presents..Missy (the black/white kitten) thinks she's the big white hunter..find those critters on back deck ..not fond of them either..when cutting the grass all I can think of is that I mow them..yuk/yuk...

Greg and Mel were invited to a corn roast last night so the boys are here with me this morning...Greg dropped in with them at 9pm last night..couldn't believe I'd be in bed..says "no wonder you are up at 5 mom, you are in bed before sun goes down" ..lol..but lordy I was tired...

If you remember Gilly the faux fireplace downstairs that looks like rock, well yesterday while in town I purchased an electric insert for it..Cliff across the street said he'd install it for me...can't believe I totallly forgot about purchasing it yesterday...excited about finishing the projects I was undertaking..getting ready for another trip to Home Depot..will let the boys know I'll be gone for 1/2 hr...they can sleep in..few things I need..like cement..lol....

Jeff is coming down today to go boating with friends..it's quite cool this morning and the winds are up..nor sure Georgian Bay won't have craft warnings on..you know how vicious the bay can be with winds...

Well, I promised myself a quiet day today..so, off to town I go..should have everything done by noon and then it's 'sit and read a book' doubt I can sit for that long but I'll time myself and see how long I can actually sit..lol..

have been helping at my DD partners house with the renovations, i am exhausted. probably no recovered yet, still feel yuk.

anyway enough of that, betty i was wondering if you can help me, i have some round mirrors that i want to edge with the same thing that you use for lead light. im not sure what its called but i believe you wrap it around and then solder it together then rub bettina on it to make it black? Is that correct?

my sister does lead light and i asked her to exlplain it to me and maybe show me, she SMS'd me back to go take lessons. Honestly, she wouldnt spit on me if i were on fire! she is a nasty piece unfurtunatly and is the key person who has out the wedge between my brothers and sisters..... it will catch up with her, goodness knows i have tried. time to let it lie and leave her be. ATrying with her is like digging up old corpses and carrying them around. she doesnt want to change, she is bitter and twisted and cant see the good in people.... poor thing, she is to be pittied.

so seeing as she wont help me i was wondering if you could explain whati t is and how to do it or is it too difficult to explain?

i just want the mirrors which are too hard to frame as they are round, to have an edge on them. i have tried to research but to no avail and classes are enormously expensive out here. there is one near by but its like hundreds of dollars for just a few lessons.

Won't be long before I'm tucked in for the night..Jeff decided not to come up today so Greg/Mel and the boys called over at noon and they thought the only way to get me to relax would be to go boating...so we did a 3hr. trip to SansSouci...there is a Canadian boating restaurant up there..can only access by water or by plane...it's fresh all you can eat 'pan fried' pickeral..I'm not a fish eater but lordy it was good...then we visited other friends on the island and then back to Penetang and visited with my BIL (boss)..they are all partying so I asked Greg to bring me into the harbour..I'm much more comfortable with a relaxing evening..sure sign of getting old....

Henry's has 3 of these buildings..they call them eating tents but they are regular seating areas ..each building sits about 100 people..they come in with platters of fish, chips, hot bread, baked beans and salads...you don't leave there hungry..not that expensive..$23.95 per person...this is the view coming into the bay...

Noah deciding which boat he wants..neither of these 2...met up 2 friends of my sons' who were my favorites when I had teen dance, outings etc. - both were there with 48' speed boats..he decided on one of those...

Best of the day..being with family and enjoying Georgian Bay..and purchase of 5 rose bushes...

Worse..had a run in at Home Depot..was purchasing cement..asked employee to assist me in lifting the bags and he told me Home Depot was a self serve store..told him probably that's why I also shop at Timbrr Mart..they give personal service..he asked if I thought I was threatening him..didn't need my business...as I was walking to the till an ad came over the speaker..said, our friendly staff would be more than please to find product for you...just as it came on, he passed me, I said, not sure management knows that this store is self serve....he said, I helped you didn't I? I said yes, but not without a lot of complaining..he said..a little, but not a lot...anyway..he rubbed me the wrong way and I complained to management..not something I usually do but lordy..how much effort does it take for him to lift a few bags of cement...

What did I learn..visiting my brother-in-law (boss) who bought my fathers' home on the water sadden me...think of all the joyful times we had together there and all the plans he had for the waterfront..all gone at the young age of 72! and, and, never decide to top up your pond - go boating-forget to turn water off...can almost drive the boat in the back yard..just kidding..but flowers/grass around the pond sure got watered...lol
