Fall 2007 RU

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

Why don't we decide the time Logees and at the park so if people are running behind, they can just meet up at the next location.. Cuz I have to admit, I tend to sleep later now that I'm pregnant.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

(Yes, and if I don't have the MCsquared to do both, or the $$ to dare Logee's, I can skip straight to the trading.)

(x, C)

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

I don't want to skip Logees I just might allot my time there.. Less time equals less wallet damage in my book.. :)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

You mean if you spend Time at Logees you won't spend Money? Inhale the visions and bring home nothing but memries? Leave nothing but footprints and take nothing vbut pictures? Interesting idea...

xx, C

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

LOL Carrie. I meant the less time I take looking around, the few items I get to see and buy. Can't buy what you don't know.. :) Doesn't always work.. :)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I hate, hate, hate! that I am going to miss this one too! Take lots of pictures please! Of Logee's too as I've heard about it but never been.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I know that is too early for us.... you might count me out if you guys are meeting at 10... I would have to leave here at 6 ... pick up bf's mom & three hour ride from there... she won't be happy about a 7:00 departure time that's for sure

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Well guys and gals ... just a thought, but we could do individual lunches on our way to Logees and then meet up at Logees in the early afternoon.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I am still trying to figure out a casino trip in this one...

:)

it's been a long time since I went to either foxwoods or mohegan sun

I will get back to you guys once I figure it out

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

I'm voting for early afternoon too. Maybe bring lunch to park and head to Logee's together after that.. :) Just an idea..

Westbrook, CT(Zone 6a)

OK, if 10 is too early, how about 12 noon at a park? Then we could go to Logee's at 1:30 or so and those who wanted to eat elsewhere could meet us there. But which park? I mentioned two nearby parks in a previous thread, but I know nothing about them. Dave said he would investigate.

Billerica, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh my goodness... Y'all keep adding new posts quicker than I can read them! :-)

I vote for noon at the park and Logee's afterward.
And I'll bring a couple of white brugs for anyone who wants them. And some brug cuttings.

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

If I make it (DH still saying we might be in South Africa at that time) I would love to my little paws on a brug.. :)

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

I think 12 is good idea... and the most important part is really getting together in a place that we can talk and visit with each other... I want to see plants but I really don't care about seeing all of Logees... it will be overwhelming for me anyway... and I want to see you guys more than the plants!!!! do they have roses there??? I don't think so!!!!

We can do a brown bag lunch... I will stop somewhere for brunch... love breakfast food...

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Of course, meeting in a park for lunch presumes it is not pouring out . . . .

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

Cat, you're actually offering Q.A.L. seeds? They're the curse of my garden!!! Don't get me wrong, I love the looks of them, but the reseeding is ridiculous - I can't keep up with the weeding of them.
I would love to come to the RU, it looks like only about an hour from me. I sure could use a break from the home schooling and the two mom-dependent Asperger Syndrome girls I have! Wish me luck!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

ok now I am depressed..... you can meet early again... my bf's mom just told me that she is going to Florida that weekend and won't be able to keep me company for the ride up there

:(

so much for the extended weekend I had in mind...... don't want to take that long hike alone

maybe next time

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i would like to have queen anne's lace. i live right by some "woods" which are mostly weeds - pokeweed, invasive roses, and a lot of boring stuff. i'd be happy to have pretty weeds growing there, and i think qal is lovely, though i understand that it can be evil in gardens.

so, i'd like some, if the offer stands...

if i can figure out how to divide stuff on purpose by october, i'll bring things too. right now i have very little to offer. probably some bath's pink dianthus - plant keeps getting bigger, but never blooms for me - and nana coreopsis. Those seem to break off pieces that will grow, as i accidentally found out. oh, and LOTS of oregano planted by a previous tenant. it seems bent on world domination!
i haven't collected annual seeds (except the ones i never found time/space to plant) - i'm still so new to this... but i can try...

I had said I'd investigate and while I've been busy, I think there is still plenty of time.

Originally, we were going to Logee's then lunch (preferrably at a restaurant that had a seperate room, then people started talking a park. Seandor makes a good point about the weather.

Is it too much to ask that we be flexible on this? We can shoot for a park but have an indoor back-up plan? Make a decision on line here a day before the trip? Either way, we will meet at the same time but park or indoors depending on weather?

I agree that 10 is too early. People are traveling a ways and some are carpooling with people they never met before. I vote that we meet at 11 or noon.

Please let me know how you feel about my flex plan and your choice for a time to meet.

Thanks, Dave

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

11 am sounds good to me - as does lunch at a restaurant.

Cheers,
Michaela

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I'm flexible as Harper is driving!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Noon sounds good to me, but 11 would be ok too.
I like the restaurant idea, eating in a park sounds complicated (where to p/u vs. how to transport food, esp for carpoolers). But i agree that there is no need to set things in stone a month beforehand.
i think everyone is just eager for 10/6 to arrive!

Pawling, NY(Zone 5b)

I like the restaurant idea better.. I vote for the restaurant..

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Me too restaurant (with parking lot for plant swap) for brunch sounds great. Logee's is not the draw for me either, it's Victor and Dave. hee, hee.

Michaela, wanna meet me for brunch somewhere?

x, Carrie

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Sure - let's do brunch! do you think others might want to join us?

By the way, Big E is coming up - are you going? Want to drop by?

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

oh BIG E means mini donuts and going to CT state house and get a chocolate cake to die for... oh I want to go this year and take my entire family....

Like I said for me any thing is ok... all I want is to see you people... brunch sounds great... I am not taking plants or getting anything... I am getting a break!!!!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

You are going to brunch before lunch?

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Would love to see all of you again and others I have not met but it happens to be the day when my friends from WA are arriving about that time in Boston.

Methinks we should try and nail down a few details such as:
time to meet
where to meet

because this thread is long enough to be confusing.

Whadya think?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

What - a confusing thread on our forum?!!!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

LOL, Victor. I knew I should have stated that differently!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Brunch is an 11 am lunch :-)

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Candyce, I'd like to hear a few more attendees weigh in on preferences for time and the restaurant/park thing before I make reservations.
So far I've heard 3 or 4 voting restaurant and 2 park (with a couple of flexibles) Time seems split between 11 and noon but moving away from 10.
I don't think we've heard recently from ;

Candyce
Don S
Harper
Victor
Lora
Alisson and BF's mom
CapeCodGardener
Hem

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If you said 'Ahem!' to get our attention, maybe Hem would have said 'Yes?'!

Still not sure I'm coming. If I do, I'll be with Harper so I defer to her. 10 is definitely too early. 11 or 12 is probably okay for me, but again - it's Harper's call. I think the restaurant call really comes down to the number of people. It can get out of hand if it's a large group.

Medway, MA(Zone 5b)

I won't submit any votes for preferences, because I'm not sure yet if I will come, but I'm flexible and will go with the flow of what's decided.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

guess you didn't see my previous post

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Maybe Dave's not feeling well again.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I stand corrected.

Westbrook, CT(Zone 6a)

I'm only 90 minutes away from Logee's, so I'll go along with the majority, which so far seems to favor 11 or 12. I'm willing to either go to a restaurant or pack a lunch (tomato sandwiches?) and meet at a park.

Mid-Cape, MA(Zone 7a)

I'm wirh Don: meeting at 11am or 12 noon, either at a restaurant or at a park (I am GLAD to bring food) so long as I get some time at Logees and with other DG-ers.
