Anyone warned Logee's yet that we are coming?
Fall 2007 RU
Oh Victor I have told them... and they just listened and said nothing!!!! lol!!!
I talk to them everyday about it... on how lucky they are that they live with me and they live in CLEAN water and they "smell good like a rose"!!!! like my dogs they are spoiled!!!
too bad Reptomim (food) smells bad... yuck! so I don't feed them in their house... and they go outside in their little garden but they sleep inside every night... they are sissy turtles...
You guys, I am allegedly an accomplished EDITOR! If someone wrote "Stuff I would never think of growing hops in my car and likes it here." I would edited the bejesus out of him or her. Shame! Apologies all around.
Glad your adoption was open, Kassia, much better to have everything open and aboveboard.

Carrie - it gave me a good laugh - no apologies needed.
LOL.. Too early to tell if it's boy or girl.. Just over 2 months right now.. And good that you have some pets.. I've always wanted pets but can't seem to keep fishes alive and frogs from running away.. Guess that's why DH is worried about letting me get a dog.. LOL..
what a gorgeous lizard!!!!
well, Carrie you just sounded like me... so I didn't think anything is wrong with that!!!!!!!! lol!!!
Coming from you, Kassia, that is a lovely complement! Thank you.
xx, Carrie
you're welcome!!!!
Logee's is quite an interesting place, in the far eastern part of CT close to the RI line. It's happily still quite rural, not fully Yuppified like most of CT, especially the western two-thirds. I used to live in that eastern area for years & visited Logee's several times.
hey!
i just caught up with this...
i definitely want to come. i would be happy to carpool, either driving or riding from new haven.
i just got back from PEI. incredibly beautiful. on our way home we visited Vesey's (http://www.veseys.com/ca/en/) - i didn't know i couldn't bring plants or seeds back to the US. sigh. after learning that, we enjoyed walking around their gardens, which were pretty incedible in spite of a hail storm 2 days earlier. i took pics of the plants that really got my attention (like these black beauty pansies). i got their US seed catalog. boy, do i ever want way too many things!!!
but, back OT - i want to come to the RU!

Great that you are coming Amy.... I don't think I have come across any of your postings before but it will be great to know you!!!! I will add your name to the list!
Absolutely, Amy! The more the merrier!!
I wish i could come with you all......
I just checked out Logees web site...even if I want to order it's a 200 dollar minimum, 25 dollars for the Phyto and 60% !!!! of the total order for shipping!!!
I wish I could come with you all....
We could maybe buy you something and ship it for you? Not me, but someone...
I'm going to thin out my black-eyed susan. Anyone want some (at the RU)?
Dave ~
If it hasn't already been spoken for, we'd like some black-eyed Susan.
yes please!

My DH bought MANY of them at HD (despite my entreaties) so I think we're OK.

Dave:
What could I offer you in return for some of those black-eyed susans?
I may be able to come up...I've always wanted to visit Logee's. My better, and non gardening half will more than likely come up with me. I'll try to bring some hostas, daylilies, begonias, coreopsis, maybe a clump or to of ornamental grass. It's about a 4 hour or so drive...and if I'm coming up/over that way, I'm making a full mini vacation out of it. For now, as I type this...I am coming up, confirm me...there is no MAYBE about it. My first RU, and at Logee's...oye...I'll be in plant heaven!
Lovely!
I can't wait to meet you! And to think you'd drive all the way from PA just for us!
awsome!!!!!!
Okay - considering it is Oct. 6 - can I still dig up volunteer plants and share them? I mean - is it too late to plant perennials?
NO! Seandor, fall is a terrific time to plant perennials, some say the BEST time. They have a whole winter to work on roots and not worry about that dumb 'flowering' business. In terms of the sleep creep leap adage, they sleep or even creep that first year as roots, then the next summer HUZZAH! IMHO.

Anyone wnat any of the following seeds: Queen Anne's Lace, Sage, Nora Barlow Columbine or Rose Campion? I will bring them to the RU if you do.
Amy & Candyce, You got em! No need to give me something. I've been on the receiving end very often at DG.
Anyone else??
Cat:
Put me down for the Nora Barlow. I've been eyeing that one all this year.
Unless, of course, a Nora Barlow is what 'Donnybrook' is giving me next week. Which Columbine is it, Louise? I never even thought to ask. Someone says 'columbine' and I am right there!!
I'll take sage, if we end up making it. (DH is going back to school this year.)

Dave, I can take some /// I planted but no seed germinated.... thanks
You got some.
thanks Dave!!!!
Are we suppose to stake our claims on the trades already here? I'm still working out the details on if I can join y'all...
I don't think so - just general inquiries of interest in something we have so we can decide whether to bring it or not.
Ok, what are we going to do for food??? I have someone that is willing to help me if we need to coordinate regarding food...
where are we meeting first??? at Logees??? ok, we need to make some decisions!!!!
I had heard a suggestion for us to each get our own take out and then meet at the park to eat and trade stuff. Logee's first is my vote.
ok... sounds good to me... what time are we meeting???
How about 10 am. Would that be enough time for those coming from far climes to travel the interstate? That would give us 2 or 3 hours at Logee's before the pangs of hunger strike.
10 AM sounds good to me Don.
it sounds a bit early to me, especially for people coming from farther away, but i will defer to the majority...

I'm with Amy - sounds early, not that we're that far, but still. I will, of course, defer. The idea is 1. Logees tour 2. individual fast food 3. rendezvous at a local park to eat and trade?? Do I have it?
xx, Carrie
