Explain your user name

Blenheim, New Zealand

I love the way some names are made
I first wanted Boots ,, because I did wear them alot ( garden boots You can dig with) It was taken . I did think Boots and all , after I started to back track ...So I am now bootandall and 52

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Now how come gardeners can come up with great names like this but it seems so difficult for most people to come up with a random password?

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

The problem with random passwords is that they aren't really random. They have to be something you can remember, so immediately you start thinking about them, and it stops being random right there! ARGH!!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

and we mostly call you 'Boots' so there ya go
Kipper, what are the odds on that?
Yuska, that's funny the French say 'petite chou' isn't that also 'little cabbage". the world is smaller than it seems.

Happenstance we garden alike your results are better.
Maybe mine is more wha' happen than stance.
Badseed love yours....

know what ?? can't do them all - it's getting too long.

I'm sure this is in one of those other threads:
Crystalspin, my DD christened me Bloomswithaview ages ago.
It made a neat letterhead. wise in the way of the internet she ?registered? it for me.

It's from my one hobby taking 35mm photos of wildflowers with my Nikon FE2 - she liked the ones that showed the red rocks behind the cactus or the mountains behind the lupine. the hat's my own teehee ~/;-) ~Blooms

Blooms
I thought your name could have come from the movie.
A Room With a View
Love that movie!

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 9b)

It is based on "a room with a view" -- the phrase, which of course existed before the movie! 'Rooms with a view' became "Blooms With A View" for the photographer of flowers and desert landscapes.

My name dates to my first registering on eBay... I was still doing crystallography (although on a volunteer basis) and was enthusiastically learning to spin wool and other fibers into yarn, hence crystalspin. Compuserve was falling apart as a community just as the WWW was expanding to be all things to all users, so I discontinued my cServe account and registered crystalspin as my e-mail too.

~'spin!~

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Want to add, she gave me the Mavica digi camera I use when she got her own "spy" size one. I can SEE the screen on mine!!

Atchison, KS(Zone 5b)

Mine is also pretty obvious. I picked Jerry and Mikey so that my husband (jerry) could remember it for our email address, (which he doesn't! My brother picked my nickname (Mikey) because he wanted a boy but my real name is Mary Michelene and I was named after a nun!

Blytheville, AR(Zone 7a)

My wife and I both have the same first name,LaVerne ,,,,,,although mine is spelled different,,,,,,Our friends call us HE-Verne and She-Verne ,,,anyway, that's how we came by our handle,,

Kennewick, WA(Zone 6b)

Wow! Two LaVerne's. Did you joke about it when you were first dating?

I have some friends that are both Terry's. When I call their house the daughter always says do you want Mr. or Mrs. Terry.

Lordsburg, NM(Zone 7b)

My name comes from my usual state of mind on any subject. I'm told that I wander about looking like a dazed water buffalo on a forgotten mission. As for age, I was born the day Hitler invaded Poland. For years I thought I started WWII!

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

LOL

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL...Fog, I think there may be things you can take to help that daze you are in! ;) And is it really a "daze" when you know you are in it?

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

aaah relativity once again - who said the fog was objectionable?

Living in one a good deal of the time, I may well miss some things but that's acceptable to me. ;-)

Carlsbad, NM(Zone 7b)

I am 61, but on MOST days do not feel a day over 40.

Camilla, GA(Zone 8b)

My name comes from the 1st 3 letters of my last name and my age when I started using the internet. Interesting thread.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

This is a great thread! As for my name, it's sort of a long story that I'll keep short. I've always been very interested the indigenous people of Central and South American. I love study on the Aztecs, Mayans, and Inca civilizations.
Well about 12 years ago, I was shopping and came across a reproduction statue of one of the Mayan Gods. I had to have it! After some research, I found that the statue was in fact the Mayan "Flower God". He was supposedly responsible for all of the crops and beautiful blooming flowers. Well plumerias are my favorite plant/flower, and are also indigenous to Central America. So, I came up with Plumeriagod, besides Plumeriaguy was already taken. Didn't want people to get us confused. I'm 35 and a male.

Randy

Here's the Mayan "Flower God" looking over the plants in the greenhouse :)

Brugie because I love brugmansia and I'm only one of a large group of brugie's. LOL!

Millersburg, PA(Zone 6b)

se-eds, because seedstarter was already taken. I enjoy planting seeds - and it is an economical hobby.

I have farmed, gardened and started and sold houseplants and all for more years than most of you have lived.

Since I am older and do not have the fortitude I once had, I am pleased to report that your many forums have
provided me with a hobby/learning experience to last me for the years I have left. Generous members on your forums have helped me to choose a digital camera and have provided many. many tips that would take years to learn otherwise.

I love this garden site, it's youth, humor and the dedicated all-life gardeners. It also provides a wealth of garden related information.

Springboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Seeds, what precious things to say :) LOL -- I had always pictured you 30something!!! :) You must exude youthfulness :)

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Randy, he's wonderful.. love your reasoning
Se_eds, I too pictured you younger ;-)

Sterling, KS(Zone 6b)

My id stands for Peace Creek Ranch, I live a town that was originally named Peace, and we still have the Peace Creek that runs thru town. So that is the pcr part. I raise quarter horses, so the AQHA stands for American Quarter Horse Association, I have more Paint horses than quarters but that would have been pcrapha and even tho the horses are manure machines I didn't want crap in the middle of my id. Barb

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

The gemini part is self explanitory and the description of a gemini in any astrology book is like reading my own bio(especially in having the gift of gab). Sage(salvias) seemed perfect because they're used as ornamentals, culinary, and as a holy cleansing herb, wrapping up my love of gardening, cooking, and spirituality all in one plant name. I'm a 38 year old male and think middle age is going to suite me just fine because the older I get, the more I demonstrate my eccentricity without concern of what others think. My real name is Neal and it's a pleasure meeting other plant freaks.

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

I'm with you Neal. A couple of the DK's have said "I didn't understand" or "must be a non-conformist" when I've vetoed something. I just don't have the need to follow the herd and as long as I'm not hurting anyone, freely follow my whims.

Commerce, GA(Zone 8a)

Just found this thread. I lived in Ga all my life. My DH of 30 years passed away in 2000. I remarried in 2002 & moved to Florida.Hence : Ga gal in Fl. No MollyMc, there is no Gaglin, Fl! LOL! Melba

Sparks, NV(Zone 6a)

Tsoutsouvas=My maiden name which is far more unique than Jones, my married name. When the clerk was typing our marriage license application 33 years ago, she type "Tsoutsouvas" then "Jones." She looked over her half secretarial glasses and said "You're making a good move."

The "4" designates that I'm the fourth sibling of my parent's children.

Rebecca Jones

Kennewick, WA(Zone 6b)

That is funny Rebecca!

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

Yep, Rebecca, I would hate to have such a long name to sign checks etc. I have enough trouble with my own 7 letter sur name.
I bet people slaughtered your name when you tried to spell it when filling out forms etc. Sometimes I get tired of repeating the spelling of my last name to people since they think they know it is COR instead of CRO at the beginning. LOL

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

Hahahahaha. Good one, Rebecca!

Renton, WA(Zone 7a)

In a startreck episode, they were attacked by a monster machine that called itseld veejer, it was actually the voyager with oy worn off and pronunced wrong, I copied it but thought veeja sounded more femine. I used it on all sites so I won't be confused as to I am. I started using it then had a 6 mo computer crash when I came back my name was taken all over so now I have to be 2 or three. I am 56 yrs young

Tacoma, WA(Zone 8a)

My name is Vivian. My DD nicknamed me Vizz because I would drink Fizzies. Those kinda like alka selzer (sp) fruit drink popular in the late 50's early 60's which gives you an idea on how old I am... OK 56. The 8 is my zone.
I would also like to take this opp. to thank you all for the fountian of wealth I am recieving from all the wonderful forums, and look forward to using you all as much as I can.. LOL and I mean that in a "good way".

I am a male botanist! Its the pet name my girlfriend pinned on me....

Lomita, CA(Zone 10a)

New to the site today and just guess my name's original... have and love basset hounds! So, when my first choices were all unavailable I hit on this one. And, since they remain big babies, it fits.

Love the site, especially the accessibility forum since I am a long-time gardener, planting seeds with my dad (now deceased and in Heaven with Mom) as soon as I could walk and, now, planting seeds with my kids when I can no longer walk... On the other hand, I don't need all those nifty kneelers, kneepads, or portable seats.

BassetMom

Crossville, TN

Welcome, Bassetmom. I know how you feel about your Bassets...I used to have one named "Happy". I am owned by a miniture Dachshund named Tessa now. We are such good company to each other as I live alone. Jo

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Just found this thread....I am female age 33....not very creative with my DG name....just used my initials cuz I just had one question and didn't think I was gonna stick around. That was almost a year ago! lol

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, I finally wandered in here and read through all the great replies. I love the pictures you included Happenstance! Do you still wear your hair short?

My user name is actually a combination of a nickname my husband gave me (weasel) and the first letter of my first name (Staci). Weasel, Weezel, and sweasel was taken when I tried to use it on another website so this is what was not taken and that's what I have used since. The nickname comes from my being very petite (5 ft, under 100 pounds) and being able to sneak up on my husband by being quiet, small, and flexible. I did this one day and he laughed and called me a little weasel and it just stuck.

Staci (who is one of the young'uns at 27)

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

can't contain myself here...

So Staci, I guess we'd call your personal method for rooting cuttings the "Sweezel Stick"

blaine

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, I guess you could say that. LOL In fact, last night I was just doing the "sweezel stick" with Autumn Joy cuttings that I broke off the mama plant and potted up . :)

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

For being TX, planting sedum and a good sport too boot, check your mail!
