I think the only way to discourage the spammers is if they do some screening about who joins Davesgarden, like they do on Facebook groups. "Name 3 quilt blocks" or "Send a picture of one of your embroidery projects" are examples of screening I have had to subject before being allowed to join a group.
I dropped the first batch of comfort blankets off yesterday. 3 more stacks to go. I have stated "baby" blankets when really, they are "comfort blankets" as you can see from pic#2, there are flannels meant for older people as well. We just wanted to provide a small flannel blanket to be used by our police or fire departments when dealing with trauma victims at the time of the event.
I know they will truly appreciate your donations Pat.
Those are great, Pat. Good for you & Marie for making & donating them.
I had a full day - coffeetime this morning, then 3 games of bowling, and 3 more games for pre-bowling when I won't be able to come on the 3rd Thurs (senior's meeting that day). Then I did some running around town, and just now home, just before 6pm.
We are headed to Spokane & back for Marie to buy bras and look for shoes for our wide feet!
I hired my former neighbor, teenager Gabe. He pulled up and rock and weed barrier. We got the bulbs planted and the mums we had in pots into the ground. I miss having all that ready help!
Evening, been busy hard few days
Funny all talking about weight loss, was gassing up this morning and saw a lady hobbling in to pay for her gas, as I was going in, I recognized her, here was one of the young ladies that used to come to Baxter hall when I was recreation coordinator, and she was quite a size when I stopped to talk to her she said she was going in for knee surgery and she was 360 pounds and she was going to vote 160. I didn’t ask her what she did to lose all the weight but I should have
Yesterday, one of my very good friends that had a stroke about three months ago. Her husband brought her for a visit. She did not come in. We spoke outside of her vehicle. They bought a van that the wheelchair is in the passenger seat and then it electronically moves to a ramp for her to come down, but it meant a lot of work to have her do so. She was quite a quilter and she’s lost the use of her left hand and can’t walk very well on her own, so hasn’t been doing anything and says how much she misses her sewing so although I have aches and pains, I have to thank the Lord that I’m not in her position.
I believe Linda Kay but that is the kind of dog that Noah has. I’ll have to ask , he sure is a biggie but very docile and Noah hasn’t trained but still when he sees me he gets excited and he want to jump up and that would be a disaster. How long do you have till your contract with that realtor is done?
Wasn’t feeling well so didn’t go with Sharon
My embroidery machine not working, think it’s done in but brought it to be checked, picked up Linda and went to the city and picked up my apple i pad, glad to have it back.wind was so strong coming home could hardly hold car on the road, sky looked mean but didnt get rain they called for.
Did ALL my Christmas shopping other than the ones i buy golf passes, beautician gift cards and $$$
Yesterday worked outside all day, l was closing up gazebo which meant lifting my hands above my shoulders, took all i had to drive home, now comfy in bed and calling it a day.
Wow, what a day you had, Betty. Good to meet up with friends.
I may not be able to have the Robbie Burns night after all. I have the venue, entertainment, experience, sources for food, and donations. But I'm short on funds. I'm going to ask the county if they give grants for events like this. I'll hear on Tuesday if that's an option.
Good that Gabe was able to come out to your new place & help!
thanks, the sewing and donations of the blankets was fun. the next together will be a Christmas party.
That would be a shame to miss out on your Robbie Burns night.
Here, wind can be one of the biggest driving risks.
Betty, pray the testing can find what exactly is wrong, and be corrected.
Susan, praying you can get a grant for your dinner.
Pat, glad you had help with your gardens.
My contract with the realtor expires at Christmas. She has had it listed for a year. They have showed the house many times, but no one has the cash, and can't get loans from the bank.
Rainy cold day, seems always so on Remembrance Day.
At hospital waiting my turn
What are you at the hospital for - is it your shoulder, or tummy, or what?
Keep in touch Betty. Praying what ever is wrong, gets proper attention and treatment.
Was a scope because whenI eat here and there I get very ill
Gave me a graph when i left and a prescription, it showed inflamed gastritis which is nothing, she sent out a few biopsies.
Didn’t want to keep Melanie from her work, she was going back after she dropped me off, slept til about 3:00am then wide awake, ended up finishing block #2 of the 3 i have, the first block which I believe is Pat’s is now with Sharon, might take a ride when I go out to get my prescription and drop off the Dresden plate. Want to put a Christmas throw on the frame today while I try to decide what i would like to do with the 3rd block.
Went to put more recycle in the bin and into food bin, they were frozen shut, had to get a hammer and bang them, that is how cold it was.
9am is far away when you get up as early as I was up, need prescription and bread/muffins

Keeping you in our prayers Betty.
You have prayer warriors here, Betty.
Please take care and let us know what's going on ❤️
I’m fine, just never know when a bad episode hits then I am really sick.
Worked all morning on the quilt block swap piece and only got top and bottom done, shoulders aching terribly so quitting for today. Have tv dinner in micro then I might get an hour sleep til GiorGia comes at 4
Cold goes right through you.
Think Linda, Sharon and I are going to the big Markham craft show, 3 buildings of top artisans Friday, i am trying to get Linda out as much as I can. Linda won’t drive so hope Sharon comes so we can share the driving, shoulders just don’t like car rides.
Had thought I would bring in a couple Christmas totes in but they can wait
Oops micro says breakfast, lunch and supper is ready!
I hope you can find some relief Betty, even its just "managing symptoms" rather than cure.
Linda, I will bet your puppies are growing like a weed!
Susan, when will you know more about your Robbie Burns event?
I wish we would hear from Sharon, she has not posed in a LONG time. I hope everything is OK. Does anyone have a phone number?
We got the Christmas tree up! LOL We went out and found a 9 foot tree we both liked, it was flocked and we then shopped for the rest of the stuff we needed. We are going to replace the Santa on top with a star, maybe later today. I have NEVER used all 50 yards of a decorator ribbon on a tree.
Many years Marie barely got the tree up before Christmas. I have usually had mine up weekend of our Thanksgiving. I think for the first time in a long time I am excited about Christmas and not dreading it.
Marie and I decided to make Christmas stocking for 3 missionaries that are assigned to my ward. They have been so helpful and kind. Marie's grandson "fell asleep" and called when he was already late, so we canceled. The missionaries showed up unannounced and I had their help with some of the stuff I would have paid Brandon for. We started buying the stuff to fill them with. We'll also buy something special for her priest.
I have a lot of our people's phone #s, Pat, but not Sharon's, unfortunately.
That tree is beautiful. I don't have her number. She is on Facebook.
Evening, well almost evening it’s already starting to get dark out there so I have the feel of evening time. Just having lunch, which will last me at supper, took a strawberry rhubarb pie out of the freezer for dessert and will get an hours rest before Ari comes for her lesson.
Not sure where the days are going my God you get up in the morning and then it’s bedtime. I’ve had a lot of company van appointments and Chiropractor, so it seems I’m always on the go. I did finish the three quilt blocks that we are doing on the other thread, I’m glad that’s behind me and working on a few pieces that I had made just not finished might as well get rid of those and give them to someone for Christmas. Tomorrow if all goes well, I’ll be going to the Markham fair which is one of the better craft Christmas events there is in the region it’s about 101 miles from here think Linda, Sharon and Susan is trying to make arrangements to come with us, so good Lord willing, we can all get away and have an enjoyable day
Did bring in the living room Christmas tree this afternoon and put it up love watching the lights flicker when the tree rotates, not overly energetic to get all those totes and in the house decorated but after seeing Pats tree, it gave me the feel that I should get out there and at least bring one tree in.
Sorry to hear you lost three of the puppies that must be an awful feeling but glad the others are doing well. They sure do look healthy. Sharon often sends me a craft or sewing tip most days, she did have a bad cold, but said she was starting to feel better, don’t have her phone number though, lost most of my numbers went in and addresses when my iPad went on the fritz.
I also miss Diane not posting always like to hear which she and the TH are doing???
Not sure I mentioned about my embroidery machine acting up because it’s not the brand that my dealer cleans and fixes. He said he’d have a look at it, but it might take 2 to 3 weeks before he does as he’s so busy with maintenance to machines for people doing Christmas Sewing that it’s one of the last things he will look at, I just hope he can fix it. I said really miss it and don’t know that I would put all that money into getting another one.
Chicken Alfredo sure is tasty best I get another bowl
Joanne, who was here yesterday brought a bag of homemade ornaments for me as a Christmas gift one was making a Santa face or rather Santa head using the cardboard from toilet paper. I took everything I need out in case I have time to make one however, I don’t have red wool for the hats, but can play with trying to make one tonight maybe after my young one leaves, I always have so many plans to do after the classes but the minute they leave I head to bed, so just maybe I’ll play a while
Up and ready to take on the day, leave in 5 to pick up Suzanne, then Sharon, Linda
No sun today and cold but at least no snow.
Going with intent of just looking unless there is something I could buy to make with the ladies or kids, when i take an idea I always buy the piece, hope that is the way it turn out as i haven’t even brought in a Christmas tote
Hope Dianne and Sharon reach out today
What are you all doing today??
Aren't they the cutest, entertainment at its best.
Just got in from Markham of course I was the big time buyer, how did I not know I would be.
Ended up buying four things and spent about $175 plus lunch seemed rather expensive lunch for what I had cost me 38 but anyway the price of everything is gone up so I guess it's within reason
What's nice getting together with the girls hadn't done that in a long time. Cold and dreary but at least we didn't have rain so that was okay already had my bath and going to have a relaxing night Greg said he was coming after work and I just messaged him and said to make it over the weekend instead of tonight I think I just want to lay down and take it easy. So what did I buy? Well I bought a few things more so for a simple design for something I would teach on my kids workshops, don't know how they do it but they had the prettiest teddy bear and he was $2 each so I bought 22 of those so that I will do a course one day on a teddy bear Angel like the young girl that comes here did before to me that's a great buy very inexpensive, then they had a gnome I bought the small one not the large one with legs but I will end up making it I've got a lot of furling around for the gnome beard and rather than how they used it I'll buy like a small kind of fish bowl glass unit and put lights in it and then make it into a gnome and put legs like the big ones had anyway I thought it was cute but then I bought a little artificial tree gnome The Greenery is just adorable on it as is he so now I'm going to be on the lookout for the large cones out of Styrofoam and that specialty cedar will look on Amazon see if I can find it there Melanie wanted to come with the girls from work and I think it is the cutest. Then I saw a piece which was more expensive than the others of course that really peaked my interest it's flat looks like glass on the front and the back maybe half inch in depth in the shape of a tree and maybe a foot to a foot and a half tall didn't measure it and when you turn it on I guess there's zillion mirrors inside of it when you plug it in it looks like you could almost put your entire arm in it it is so dimensional in depth there were only three that she had and I hemmed and hard and on our way out there was one left which was the one that was on display so of course it had to come home with me and I believe that was the end of my purchases the other girls really didn't buy anything Sharon bought some jewelry for Nikki for Christmas but all in all it was a nice day to get out and do something different I drove there my eyes have been bothering me I think I've been doing too much and they start burning so I drove and Sharon drove back. There was enough left from lunch that my supper is made it was yummy I had chicken souvlaki which I love and this one didn't disappoint me so later I'll post pictures of what I bought right now I'm letting it warm up, thought I'd best not plug it in as soon as I brought it in because it was cold in the trunk and plugging it in my damage it so I'll wait a tad then I'll find a hiding spot to put all these teddy bears and make a note of what I need to complete them and if I see some of it out on sale between now and Christmas I'll pick up what I need I'm sure there's some kind of celebration coming up hey maybe even make it into a Valentine's teddy bear that would be cute for the kids so we'll take a picture and post it
Betty, no wonder that you're not feeling up to snuff. 186/76 is pretty darned high.
Cute teddies, and what a full day you had! Great to do all the visiting & having lunch out though.
Linda Kay - sorry about losing 3 puppies (so hard on you, I'm sure) but really happy the other six are so healthy. It's really fun to watch puppies at play! (snuggle, snuggle, snuggle little puppies!)
I had a great day - went to The Plant Place in Olds because someone thought they saw a plant I was looking for there. They didn't, but their shop in another town did, and it got sent to the shop in Olds, so I'm picking it up tomorrow. I'm thrilled. My grandma had one, and my dad got a cutting from her. He finally got tired of it and threw it out. I must have been looking for one for about 40 years. Now I'll have one :) this isn't it, but it's what mine is. It'll grow about 4-6 ft tall and the flowers are lovely.
I'm getting donation offers for the Robbie Burns dinner in January, so will go forward with it. If I don't get the bus-load of 16 (because there won't be liquor), I still think I'll get enough people to sell 50 tickets to. There's a lot of interest, so am sure that I'll sell 50 tickets easily. Got a donation of 20 lbs of potatoes & 20 lbs of turnips. Hoping to get 18 lbs of roast from the local grocery store. Have the scones & haggis ordered, have the piper & other entertainment, so I'm going ahead with it all :)
I'm really grateful for today.
Forgot to mention - received the 37 silk ties that Melody sent to me (WOW! 37??!?!).
Such a variety, and my head is swimming with possibilities (purses/clutches; table topper; headbands, etc). Hope to have somethings made for the Christmas Market on Nov 30th for proceeds to go to the Wellness group. The ties are beautiful. I think I'll keep the Christmas one for myself LOL
I've been making Christmas ornaments to sell (gnomes, and quilted balls like the kind Linda Kay sent to me one Christmas). I have 12 gnomes, and 5 balls, so far. I was told that I need to make both the large & small balls (by someone who would buy them).
Sun is shining, drinking coffee after a really bad night, head is not right but am sure by end of day I will be ok.
Was cleaning my purse and found doctor’s scope info
She had a diagram showing inflamed gastritis and in another column has Bleeding/anemia symptoms and says sent for biopsies
I sure wish the tree would really show its beauty and depth
Raina will be here in 5-10 minutes so will be back to chat, want to finish toast and coffee before I go downstairs for the day.
Oh Betty. Sounds like you enjoyed your trip. I love all the goodies you bought. If you have dollar tree stores, they sell a 12 inch artificial tree. I have seen them used for gnomes.
Skip to the 7 minute mark for the tree gnomes.

Susan, I love your decorations too. Very pretty.
Linda Kay - what a neat Christmas ornament! Thanks for posting it. Those NAILS though, were very distracting! Must have been for Hallowe'en, or she's very goth lol
I started making crafts from the silk ties Melody sent. These are eyeglass holders. I took the tag that was inside and re-stitched it so the flap can go into it. I thought putting the Pierre Cardin & Loony Tunes tag viewable would be cute.
ACK! So many things to comment on.
The crafts are cute Betty. Sorry you have been feeling unwell. Glad you had a good trip.
Linda, the puppies are adorable and growing like weeds. Do you know the reasons you lost the 3?
Susan, I am happy your Robbie Burns is going forward.
One puppy was stillborn, the other 2 were very weak, and just didn't make it.
Dark sky this morning, warming up the car to get rid of frost on windshield then off for my chiro appointment.
Breaks the heart when some pass. They are so cute playing together, can’t believe how much they’ve grown
Pat, Dollarama and dollar tree are open early, maybe I will run in and check what they have but the tree I purchased had the nicest iced cedar, even thinking of looking for floral cones and Mela deer friends could do the project using it, would be a nice scent.
I have 7 totes unpacked and items 8n their place and16 more to go,
3 are bedding quilts so I will bring them first when I get home, the rest I can bring 8n from time to time.
Did I ever tell you I have too much Christmas. Lol
I love the silk tie glasses holders Susan! They should sell wonderfully!
I just had to come here and post my quilt. I've been collecting fat quarters for a couple of years now and made the Yellowstone inspired 'Beth' quilt. It's a popular TV show and the quilt was featured in one of the episodes. Quilters everywhere are making their own versions of it.
It's all machine done (and now I can pack my machine away for the holidays) The quilting design is a cardboard stencil that belonged to my grandmother who was born in 1890.
Anyway, I knew you all would appreciate it!
Thanks for posting your quilt here melody. It's beautiful.
Decorations are like fabric stashes. One can never have enough.
Very cute sign Susan. I have a "few small spots" I could hang some signs but I have hopes of putting up some wall hangings in the LongArm Room, or "LA" as it's referred to here at home.
I spent HOURS cutting out fabric for the quilts I am signed up for on the cruise. Still lots to do. Whatever possessed me to sign up for 6 quilts? WHAT was I thinking??
The contractor is here installing a pull down attic ladder, more insulation. We have buyers coming for all kinds of stuff off Marketplace. I still need to get some thread spool holders listed.
I have a buyer for our 2nd freezer. I will be happy to get it gone, I need the floor space to create a good storage space for the 9 foot Christmas tree after we take it down.
We have a buyer coming to look at the rack of clothes. I am hoping to sell it ALL to her as a lot and get this all gone.
Been up since 5:00 thought maybe if I was up earlier and work slower I'd make it through an entire day without a nap but no go, Marie came over at 11:00 and worked with me for about an hour and a half then on the couch I am I'm too young Georgia comes at 4:00.
We put the deck tree up that I don't usually decorate a couple of things on it but it's just for the lights at night we'll see, set up the one in the basement and the two totes for it can wait till tomorrow. I think all told there might be five or six totes left then Christmas is inside.
Sounds like one heck of a week Pat, hope everyone picks up the items you'll feel much better once they're all gone and you're not trying to store them. Will you have any time on that cruise to enjoy yourself I'm not understanding how you going to make sex quotes in a week or do they provide the instructions and you have to have a good part of it done?
Had a bad partner last night, Ziggy keeps pushing me over the last few months wants to sleep on the side of the bed rather than at the end of the bed so now I try to make sure I push myself over, I decided to bring in the totes that had all the Christmas bedding in them, put them in the dryer with a lot of fabric sheets and some smelly salts and let them run for about 20 minutes to give them a fresh smell so I hadn't made my bed as yet cuz I knew I would only be taking it apart in an hour so right on the pillow where I lay on my side there was a friend Ziggy brought me a friend I guess he thought maybe I should have a friend on each side of me. Yikes when I went to get him he was still moving but not very quickly so I guess Ziggy almost did him in so I got him into a bag it was garbage pick up today and then he went maybe he can heal and eat all the garbage that there is out there in the dump and survive couldn't kill him that's for sure
