Been up since 5:00 thought maybe if I was up earlier and work slower I'd make it through an entire day without a nap but no go, Marie came over at 11:00 and worked with me for about an hour and a half then on the couch I am I'm too young Georgia comes at 4:00.
We put the deck tree up that I don't usually decorate a couple of things on it but it's just for the lights at night we'll see, set up the one in the basement and the two totes for it can wait till tomorrow. I think all told there might be five or six totes left then Christmas is inside.
Sounds like one heck of a week Pat, hope everyone picks up the items you'll feel much better once they're all gone and you're not trying to store them. Will you have any time on that cruise to enjoy yourself I'm not understanding how you going to make sex quotes in a week or do they provide the instructions and you have to have a good part of it done?
Had a bad partner last night, Ziggy keeps pushing me over the last few months wants to sleep on the side of the bed rather than at the end of the bed so now I try to make sure I push myself over, I decided to bring in the totes that had all the Christmas bedding in them, put them in the dryer with a lot of fabric sheets and some smelly salts and let them run for about 20 minutes to give them a fresh smell so I hadn't made my bed as yet cuz I knew I would only be taking it apart in an hour so right on the pillow where I lay on my side there was a friend Ziggy brought me a friend I guess he thought maybe I should have a friend on each side of me. Yikes when I went to get him he was still moving but not very quickly so I guess Ziggy almost did him in so I got him into a bag it was garbage pick up today and then he went maybe he can heal and eat all the garbage that there is out there in the dump and survive couldn't kill him that's for sure
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Come join in, we love to hear about your day, grab a chair and chat away..
Well I made myself some mashed potatoes green peas and I have a hankering for a few wieners so I'll have that and it will be my breakfast dinner and supper
Hope you are all having something way more appetizing than what I'm having. Saw advertisement on TV for Swiss chalet having a special Christmas dinner available so maybe this weekend I'll take a run and go out for supper

Pat, sounds like you are slowly but surely getting things organized. What cruise are you going on, and where?
I have never been on a cruise.
Betty, i would freak out if a cat left me that gift on my bed.
ewwwwwww a mouse?!?!? I'm with Linda Kay - I'd freak out & give wee mousie a heart attack!
Pat - here's hoping everything you want to sell GOES, and goes quickly. Yes, what cruise? I don't remember you saying anything about one, let alone one that you make 6 quilts on!!
Went to Cow Patti dinner theatre today (show at 12:30) with seniors from Silver Willow - good time had by all :)
We leave from San Diego Jan 11 and arrive in Hawaii 17, start back on 21, one day in Mexico on 27, San Diego 28 and done. There are classes while cruising on open ocean and then excursions while in port. Then back again, more classes. Click on the link, it will tell you it is sold out but if you click twice it will let you in to see the classes. https://worldofquiltstravel.com/25hawaiicruise/
I took pictures of the patterns, I am NOT doing them in their colors. I did not buy kits, but will have all the quilts cut out and ready to sew (if not started) before I get on the ship.
last 1, I am going to change up the Carpenter's star and put a panel inside, I've had the panel and fabric to use and could not figure out HOW/What I wanted to make it up. I will need to frame the panel to bring it to the 24 x 24, the size of the inside of the star.I think this will be a very doable project and clear out one more project.
Morning, another dull day, light drizzle last night but not snow.
Susan, have you had snow yet?
Another 4:30 am, will have a coffee and cinnamon bun then start sewing some panels together for closing in the outdoor gazebo, have half done so one good push today and winter closure will be done
Love the quilts Pat, is Marie doing same quilts?love them all, I’ve made 2 of them.. mind boggling to think you can get all done..was smiling, should be if your get all the quilts done you get a free cruise to enjoy because I think when you get home you will need another vacation when you get back, maybe Canada in the spring?
What are the normal temps on the cruise for this time of year?
Susan, you are becoming the social butterfly with all these outings, glad you are enjoy8mg them
Deb, is the dog competitions all but over for 2024. Sharon thinks she has someone who take Kunik to Tampa next month and not sure she will do Westminster show because it’s right around her going to Africa and doesn’t want to tire herself out
Dianne, do you have all your wood piled and winterized for the winter? Hope you are not under the weather and the TH doing well.
I went and dropped off a box of fleece and towels to animal shelter Monday, didn’t go in because I thought if I were to see one of those kitties/dogs giving me the eye I’d surely bring one home.
Prayers for Linda and Dave please. They did find a long term home for David, i believe they transfer him this morning, imagine $300 to move h8me maybe 6 miles, shaking my head. $2800 a month, the facility has barber, can get a manicure/pedicure, physio, Entertainment, dentist etc but all come with extra fee.
Linda had been having problems down below, forget the technical term but they did a few procedures over last few years, she went for her yearly checkup and it didn’t have good results, looks cancerous, they did mega needles, biopsy and guess she finds results in the next weeks.
Lots for one person to endure at same time.
Will take my coffee downstairs and start putting ornaments on the Christmas tree in den. i often think of Carol who was with us when I first started, she never used her basement and left Christmas up all year,, not such a bad idea!
What are you all up to today?

Poor Linda, trying to cope with all that at once. $2,800 per month is cheap compared to US rates for care. Prayers are being offered for both of them.
There is no way I will get all 6 of the flimsy's done while on the cruise. I will have everything cut and ready. I will try to do some other prep work as well. There is also time for free sewing time after classes in the evenings. We will plan on attending some of the other entertainment that the ship offers. We likely will take advantage of the buffet most meals so we are not tied down to reservations in the dining room. It is my first trip to Hawaii and also my first cruise. We'll see how we like the whole cruise thing. Likely a land retreat is more my speed!
Sounds like a nice cruise.
Sending prayers for Dave and Linda.
It is exciting Pat, furthest i went on a cruise was to Bahamas with a group of seniors for a few days so that is not a good test for how I’d like it. Dave and Linda always wanted to do one more cruise, they were always cruising, if something happens to David maybe I’d go with her. Regular prices for long term homes is more like $6k a month, our government pays the balance thank God.
Just got a call from Hummingbird Sewing, my machine has been serviced, needed a few parts ad ready to come home, how excited for me lol
Greg will pick it up one day this week, if not I will go to Barrie Saturday morning, maybe go see David’s new home.
I've never been on a cruise, or even outside of Canada or US lol
Yes, Betty, we've had snow, but it always disappeared until today. Today we got a lot of the fluffy stuff, so today I didn't have to scrape my windows. I've had to at least 5 times this season though. Plug my car in, too.
Today it's the Senior's monthly meeting, so will check back here later.
Last local dog shows of the year. The International Kennel Club show. I've got 4 shows in 3 days. And, I just found out yesterday that I'm hosting everyone for Thanksgiving! Lots of shopping and cleaning to get done by next Thursday!
wow, last minute "you're hosting Thanksgiving" message lol Not much warning. Are you responsible for all the food, or will someone bring pumpkin pie, etc?
Contractors just left, having put in a heat run to a wall that had no heat. It's good to have! Last winter it got down to 10c / 50F in that corner of the den.
A neighbour is helping me with my water pipes. He came by last night & couldn't figure out how to get to the part of the building under the mobile home. He's coming back this afternoon, now that the HVAC guys told me how to access underneath.
That's progress Susan!
Debbie THAT's a lot of dog shows AND Thanksgiving?? Goodness!
We gave in to Black Friday sales... we bought new frig and range. Our ice maker was not working right, repair was $900 so we bought new. We are replacing the range because we did not feel it was safe. The dials were on the front and constantly got bumped and turned on. Merry Christmas to us.
Merry Christmas to you, indeed, Pat! Nice to know that your range is safe, and yes - cheaper to buy new than to do the repair. Now everything is new lol
My neighbour has finished putting in new heat tape, insulation, and wrap on my water pipes. I told him as soon as I could I would pay him for his time & materials. He said there was no need, although I told him that he went above & beyond.
I did some more Christmas decorations for the Christmas Market that's happening on Nov 30 at our Community Centre. Mostly more Christmas ball ornaments. I'm getting better at them lol I lost track of how many I made.
Not feeling great - chest pains. May just be due to me lifting the Christmas Hamper boxes into my car then into the Senior's Centre, then one into the freezer. They were fairly heavy, so I may have strained something. I just know that I'm tired and feeling "off". Not going to church tomorrow (although I was supposed to read scripture), because of how I'm feeling, and also because we got a huge dump of snow. My car didn't like going three blocks today, so going 23 miles to church isn't going to happen. No plowing has been done in my Park. Likely have the highway plowed, but I feel like my winter tires are summer tires - very slippery out.
That's a lot of snow. Susan, don't ignore those chest pains.
Pat, congratulations on the new appliances.
A snow plow came through the Park about dinnertime. Not sure if we'll have MORE snow, but I'm still not venturing out tomorrow. "Snow Day" lol
Thanks, it will be another week before we get the appliances.
My brother is coming Monday to show me how to change the blade in my table saw. That blade has been in there forever I have really abused it. The most recent abuse is the 1 inch wool pads. When I tried to cut a 1 x `12, it was NOT happy.
Marie wants garland up above all the cabinets etc. I need to cut wood and bring up the inside of the top of the cabinets to level with the top of all the crown molding. Frankly I would be happy without every surface decked out with holiday "stuff". Just another way I am more minimalist that her & sometimes it gets on my nerves. All the clutter gets on my nerves sometimes and makes me feel claustrophobic.
Morning, sorry i haven’t been around, go to bed on the dizzy side I did manage to days in a row to go out for a little while when Marie came to help as she thought I might fall or something might happen so thank goodness for great neighbours
Susan that is a lot of snowy day is to get yourself cozy, know you are overdoing it.
You are also blessed with an earthly Angel, how nice of him, hoping your water pipes don’t freeze this winter.
Deb, you will be glad to see all your shows behind you for the year but what they achieved so much, how proud you must be. How many are coming for Thanksgiving? Mega work for sure.
Pat, i just had blades changed on the big band saw, not sure why but I feel nervous using it so been sticking with scroll saw. You and Marie are much like Sharon and I,
Sharon’s house at Christmas has a few decorations
but not many, all year round you would never know someone lives there, me 9n other hand one is lucky to find a few inches to set another decoration. Think when Sharon visits it gives her anxiety attack, too much around. My mom is in between but I think only because she is 93 and can’t lift her boxes from garage shelving.
Pat, smart getting new appliances vs repair8ng, but the man who came to do my dryer a few years ago said fix, fix, fix! New ones he says are made to be throw aways between 3-5 years.
With getting older and I see the treatment seniors are getting in some of the homes makes me very agitated, just makes me sick I wish I could post the pictures I have of David but they would surely make you sick to your stomach, nothings done purposely but not enough people to care for the patients he went in on Wednesday and during the night he fell out of bed, on Thursday he split the whole top of his head off because he was supposed to be guarded every time he’s out of bed because his blood pressure go sky high then lowers to nothing and he passes so Linda said it was on the notes it’s on his chart the hospital told him that, David had to go to the washroom so two nurses came in to take him so Linda went back to where Dave’s bed is in started to clean up the area and she heard it fall, wonders to put them on the toilet decided she had to go and get the undies for him and then the other one sore rash and went to get service so they left them sitting and he passed out his head, what a mess that was had all kinds of staff trying to bring him back. Friday night they went to take them for a stroll and did not realize that his hand was on the side of the wheelchair in his hands got caught in the doorway well ripped all the skin off and I mean rip the skin off you should see it. 3 episodes in three days yesterday Linda didn’t want to leave to go home because she was pregnant that’s what else could happen, Is this where Hospital’s are becoming for the seniors.
Just started to snow, first flakes of the season, am sure won’t last all day.
I’ve been craving Turkey dinner, have 3 of my sewing boys coming to do the Christmas workshop that is scheduled for next Sunday but their dad’s Christmas party is same day so i offered they come this morning..9-11:30 so I will start Turkey now and voila, enough Turkey dinners for the week
Guess you are all busy preparing for Thanksgiving, glad ours is over.
Must call the kids and see if they would rather come the Saturday or Sunday before christmas which would make it easier for them. All having girlfriends, wives, kids, in law gather8ngs etc. Will do the calling this afternoon to see if it would work.
Best I f8nish coffee and head downstairs
Wasn’t enough snow to even see on the ground then it started to rain, hurrah for us..
Boys were here and did their projects
I will be eat8ng Turkey dinner all week, sooo much mashed potatoes but I will freeze and before the weekend will make sheppards pie and won’t have to cook potatoes. Tried to talk Sharon 8nto coming to get some for her supper but she is deep in finishing a quilt so doesn’t want to come and I’m too tired to drive it over to her.
Boys were here, went home with their projects now it’s get comfy and early to bed. It is also my time to touch base with Linda, praying it was a good day for her and David!
So sorry to hear about David. Do they not have rails on the bed to raise to keep him from falling?
I love those projects the kids did.
Oh Betty, so sad about the care that David is getting. Very scary. Hope that the hospital steps up and gives him better care.
My place must be like yours, Betty - extremely decorated. I love it this way 😁
I spent the day relaxing and doing some crafting and quilting, and feeling better.
Tomorrow I open up for coffee time and go to Spanish class. I'm really enjoying it
Morning all, cold and dark outside but no snow so good news for me.
Dizziness and headache still persists so I canceled chiropractor session this morning, best I not be driving. Marie came for her daily visit, nice to have someone check up on me. She has no outdoor plugs and decorates for Christmas with what solar pieces she can find, was telling me yesterday the6 went t9 Home Depot and the had a solar reindeer and Santa for outdoors she liked, i go to chiropractor on Thursday, hope the pieces are still there so i can get them for her as a thank you, fingers crossed!
The post above by Robert is what I posted when I went for my tests on November 11th, not sure why he posted it??
Susan glad you are feeling better, yep decorating is my thing, pictures of your decorating please,
Lindakay, just don’t know what to say, carelessness, not checking charts and lack of nurses. Saturday night he fell out of bed but Linda was pleased they had put him in a bed that lowers to 6” from floor with a rubber matt along side of it. James said the alarm went off to say David was trying to get out of bed but nurses were very slow 8n responding. How are the puppies?
Guess with Thanksgiving this weekend bet you’ve all a zillion things to do..
Been quiet, made the ribbon bows which need to be put in coffee grundge and bakes, trying to decide if I will let Sunday kids do that part, made string bows, next are fabric ties which are made into bows but I will grunge and bake them this afternoon.
Sharon finished another dog throw, i did binding for her over weekend, has another ready and she will drop it off this afternoon for me to do, this 2 more and she will be caught up as she told the last order she couldn’t have it done by Christmas
Evan comes at 4:00pm so best I vacuum my mess so I have time for a nap
Needless to say I have sparkles and snow all over the 0lace, will take till spring to clean it up
Linda, the puppies are such cute little chunky monkeys! I nursed 4 sons, I can empathize with Lizzy!
Adam surprised me by saying they WILL be coming for Thanksgiving. I am glad, I would like to have a better relationship with Andrea.
Maire just left for Costco to buy a long list of things. Mark has come & we have changed the table saw blade, I need to get to work.
Robert's post is a spammer's way to get people to respond to him (it?)
Melody, can you block him, please? This isn't the first time he's posted in this thread.
btw - I found out today that Amazon's deliveries cannot be made to a Post Office. It won't be accepted. They must have a physical, home, address to deliver to. My daughter (Michelle) is sending a present to me, and my Postmaster said they won't accept anything from Amazon. To change to a physical address with Amazon would cost more than the present itself, Michelle said. I asked if she could cancel the order & resent it using my physical address. She's going to try.
Yes, deliveries can't be delivered to PO, the good news is the mail strike should not impact your Amazon stuff, right?
Susan, Melody does not block or delete posts unless you Dmail and let her know about it. I'll let you notify her.
Afternoon, been raining all day, cold brrr
I thought Susan all Amazon purchases were delivered to the house but guess some do post office, hope she is able to change to your address, guess it all depends on how long it’s been since she has ordered.
Lindakay, they are too cute, bet you spend most of the day watching them play. Will it be January before they go to their forever home?
Nothing like having new blades in any tool, am sure you will work up a storm getting your project done so you can hang greenery, take before and after photo please.
Got the binding done on the purple dog throw finished, that is #3 of 5 I believe. Sharon got her flu and Covid shot this morning, both in same arm, she is hoping it still allows her quilt day and night til weekend lol
"quilt all day and night" LOL, isn't that what we all do when there is a time crunch
This morning, I FINALLY got the pull-out drawer fixed at Marie's coffee station. The handman installed the pull out but he did not check if the new drawer would exceed the support of the extended shelf. Typical shelf that was VERY narrow/shallow. When he installed the overmarket pull-out we made that shelf longer/bigger but he forgot to support the VERY tip. Pullout the drawer and the thing tipped. It doesn't now. ONE more job done.
Off to run errands and return to my "over the cabient" project.
My daughter was able to delete the shipment & recreate it with my home address. I'll receive 2 pkgs direct to my door, on Dec 9 & 11th.
NO mail, letters or packages, from/to anywhere are being accepted at ANY Post Office in Canada. It doesn't matter the destination, because it would still have to be brought to the Canada/US border, and it's the delivery drivers who are striking. They are still mailing gov't mail to people within Canada, but none cross-border so if you're a Canadian outside of Canada, you're TSOL.
Betty, you wanted pictures? Here's my inside. I'll have to turn on my outside lights & put a projector up on the front lawn.
The 2nd picture is a mini tree hanging on my sewing table, as it's closed onto the wall.

Beautiful decorations.
Betty, why are you still getting covid shots. It's been proven they don't work. Go look on my Facebook page. I shared a video of James okeef, doing an under cover video, where the head of NIH admitted they don't work. It's all a scam.
Morning all, frosty out there, bit of white on the roofs and car windshield but so far that is it but areas north of us are getting it so won’t be long.
Susan very festive and welcoming, thanks for sharing! Glad you will be getting your gift from Michelle.
Lindakay, everyone feels differently Covid shots but all else being offered and I will be first in line to get any and all offered. Sharon got hers yesterday and back to her quilting today. I don’t thinkI know anyone who doesn’t get theirs shots.
Pat, you sure have building, projects, crafting down to a “t”, was me years ago but don’t have the energy to take i them on, proved that with my kitchen Reno’s this summer.
Glowgoody I am on a mission today so will go read your pr9file as soon as I can but wellcome
I have 12 more boards to give a base coat to, 28 fabric bows to grunge and dry 8n the oven, hankering for bread pudding/ muffins so while oven is on I will try to get them done. Peighton comes at 3:45 so should have enough time to get all done.
Today would have been my 59th wedding anniversary, often ponder on days like this
What might have been.
Well coffee break done, time to get at it
Betty, i wouldn't click any link. Especially with the other scammers posted under that one.
