Oh man, they came AND I am eager to get on them. I LOVE what ya' did to my center, it's beautiful, THANKS! I will be sending pics later today
Best/Worst - 2024 Round Robin
So, Pat, you have your finalized center?
Yes, my center has come completed and it's beautiful! Thank you all that contributed to it. I will be scouting out fabric to finish up the centers that I need to add to. I will be taking pictures & posting them later.
Sharon and I are so anxious to get ours, I have a few blocks of the design used for the middle then I’m going to add to this side and make it a Christmas gift
Missing a challenge, might take out the little sewing machine I have upstairs , set up a cutting boards, mini iron and carry ironing pads and just sew here and there, maybe I’d get more ambitious
Looking forward to the pictures. I'm anxious to see what everyone's added to my God's Eye! Should be very interesting :)
Do I have any more borders to put on any of the blocks?
Cant remember the process Susan
Next swap should we have one might be blocks, think once it was a theme, birdhouses, think one was colour and block design up yo maker.
Pat was talking about her organizing block swap after this one.
I remember one for teacups. I have one that was sent to me. Not sure what to put it in lol
Yes, Susan, you have more borders to put on. I am just slow getting done & mailed.
Not to worry, Pat - lots to do around here, too.
Yours is all done though, right? Pictures.............. please :)
Will Sharon and I have borders to do as well
Betty, your quilts should be finished when it's gets back to you.
Pat - whose is the 1st center, Christmas themed? I know that I haven't seen it, so I'll need to put a 4" final border on it.
The first 2 are going to Betty and Sharon.
They are all beautiful.
Where are yours, Linda Kay?
We have them. The tops are done. Just need to quilt them.
Could you post a pic, please?
What is everyone going to do with their finished quilt? I have not decided, so I am asking YOU! LOL
I am thinking of adding one more border, and make it a nice lap quilt.
Beautiful
My Christmas piece (1st photo )when done will have a few more of same main insert if aI can make it happen as I won’t have fabric used in the blocking but will try.
I may add more borders and donate it to the church. I'll ask them.
Hope that the Post Office employees don't go on strike in May, but it looks like it will, they've refused the last offer the Post Office made
at least this package will arrive before the strike! That really sucks for Canada. Mail is slow enough without the extra drama.
I mailed the package off the Susan. $46.40, and that was just priority mail, not registered etc. I am sorry but considering the cost of postage, I will NOT be organizing a block exchange.
Pat - I totally understand. Mailing to Canada and vice versa has always been expensive. If you did one within each country it would be less I believe.
Thanks for the update on the mailing :)
Maybe what we can do is make a block, take pictures of them, and each of us make a lap quilt using the blocks that WE made. So if you did a log cabin & took a picture of it, then we would make a log cabin, based on the colours you chose. We might stretch our capabilities a bit (I've never made a Dresden plate, so if LK chose that as her pattern, I'd just have to learn how to do it!!). We'd have to approximate the materials, of course, because we might not be able to get that material pattern.
We'd have to share some patterns, of course, like my God's Eye (not doing another one, but it was nice to do one). I go to Quilterscache.com to get a lot of patterns. My God's Eye was one pattern they have there.
There'd be no waiting either. It would be interesting to see each other's interpretation of colours & patterns and the lap quilt it made.
All of you are much better quilters than I, but I am getting better :)
No comment on the "virtual" block swap?
Susan, I appreciate the time and thought you put into this but it is not something I am interested in.
The centers have not arrived yet?
Sorry, I just saw this.
Block swap would be nice if we had more to join in.
There used to be at least a dozen of us that did the block swap years ago.
Linda, we have had so many "move over" to the other site, and of course there are the ones who has passed away. Our numbers of quilters sure have dwindled.
No, I haven't received them yet. Were you given a time line for delivery?
A swap I took part in, in 2009, had 14 of us (included me, so 13 plus me).
in 2012, we were only 8.
In 2016 there were only 5
now, in 2024/25, there are 6 of us.
I know that the days of 14 joining seem to be past. There are really a lot who have passed away - LaVonne/Dorothy; and LadyDragon/Barb, and others.
Yes, some moved to the Other Site. I am seeing Thunder posting more. She did a very colourful pallet in & I loved 'em. This was one of hers.
Linda Kay - where do you have this one?
I see a Pat who was in the group, but not sure if it was you, Pat?
I have that angel in a tub in storage I think.
The pat you are talking about passed away.
We have lost so many friends here.
Thunder did a deer center piece when we did that Round Robin that most of us never got our center back. The person who was to mail to me just STOPPED. At one time I was in contact with her, I offered to finish her rows and mail on if she would just mail them to me, she never did.
No, US told me they have "no control" over Canada and I could not track it once it crossed the border.
I have the deer I posted her as being Pat's (not you, Pat) and the colourful one next to LK's angel is Thunder's.
I know, Pat, a lot of us lost our centers to woman who was to send them on. That's where my 1st God's Eye went. Ah well.
ok, I will get the newest centers when I get them. Do you have them tracked TO the border? Our postmaster said she got a parcel that took 1 1/2 MONTHS to get to her from the US. So sorry that this is happening. I'll let you know as soon as I get the centers.
I'll check Susan.
Pat, I got the centers!
Apparently you put a value on over $100 and that's why you got charged so much. Under $100 and you wouldn't have been charged anything. On my end I had to pay over $15, but it HAVE the centers
