Morning, winds up to 70kl possible, just howling..later will be rain and believe snow starting during the night.

I’d rather be in your area Lindakay, sounds perfect. Are you able to get out and do things? Did all your beautiful roses not survive?

Well if you ask me Pat you certainly achieve the impossible.

Dianne, are you also feeling this storm move in?

Deb, Sharon will be leaving next week for dog show, 1st in Pennsylvania then florida, lots of travelling, won’t be home til a few days before Christmas, because you have different breeds of dogs does that mean you would never come across each other?

With cup of coffee in hand i walked the upstairs, all decorated, nothing out of place, same for downstairs except for Santa’s workshop..no sense cleaning it until after Sunday when I have 36 kids here..am i nuts lol

Off to have breakfast

I get out to get groceries, meds... I also meet the quilting ladies every Wed for lunch for a few hours. That is about it.
I lost all my roses last year when we had that week long snow storm. Plants are too pricey to replace now. Rose bushes uses to be 5 to 10 dollars. This year they were 30 and up. All I had blooming this year was my pride of Barbados.

Ziggy loves the decorations.

Thanks for the new room.

Hard to believe it just about December.

Terrible when you lose your gardens..

Glad you have your quilting group, gives you something to look forward to..what are you sewing now? June dropped in yesterday and dropped off about 80 quilting books, I’ve had coffee while leafing through them..I’d have to live a few more hundred years to make what I liked..will let Sharon leaf through them them off to the dump.

same here re garden prices, funny they don’t charge you to just look at them. I wanted now that the roof and window have been replaced do the front side of the deck but $$$ put that idea out. A lot of friends have been doing container gardening that way moving things indoors, I’m sure that is what Sharon does..i restarted about 10 Angel ones, took in another that I spent $69 for but looks like it won’t make it, maybe I should cut it all down and leave the root..I’ll take photo to show you.

My brother Bernie is sick, i told my sil Charlene because of the post she left me saying she would drop the stuff off..said if my machine can sew it you have to stay and do the sewing as I can’t..so she said she would come today, test it and if it sews it she will come and do it Tuesday..guess it pays to tell it like it is and not do what we can’t do..imagine me turning family away..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Still leafing through quilting books..so many civil war designs, think i am an old should from that era..drawn to them.
Pat, this design interested me..maybe i could try a few, buy doll for this year..I’ll see how easy it is

Here I am, working on floor to make a stained glass window using lamp pieces from june’ broken lamp.just set my bevels down to get a look at it,,the large glass panel pieces will have to be cut up.. yes? No?

Been on the puny side for a few days. Was fine for our holiday, Mon, evening I had some soup and very shortly gave it all back. Until this morning at 6: A.M. all I have done is sleep. I'd wake on occasion to go to the bathroom and right back to sleep. I woke up hungry and Walt made me some scrambled eggs. Hoping what ever I had is now gone.

Sorry to hear that Karen, so much going around one doesn’t know how to treat the ailment.
get well

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well The beautiful rippled black/grey/clear is all cut up now to foil.
Weather is bad, a tad of freezing rain and snow
Hopefully my young student that comes from out of town won’t come tonight.

Betty, Most of the shows I go to have all breeds of dogs, so it's possible that I could be at the same show as Sharon. I just haven't been showing much since COVID. I need to get my boys better trained and get them out.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Thar B&W glass is very pretty. I am looking forwaed to see what you make with it.

Karen, get to feeling better.

Off to do a dozen errands.

Verona, ON

Betty I have always loved the baroque glass except for the red. The B&W glass is beautiful. We used to use that for the back of loons. What width foil are you using ?

Karen whatever you had I had too. I felt pretty miserable for a couple of days. Zeke was freaked out. He had never seen me throw up before. He just clung to me on the bed. I couldn't get warm and he acted like a heating pad.

Purolator was here and I saw this tail sticking out of the back. Nyla the chocolate Lab down the lane was inside and wouldn't get out. It was a new driver and he was frantic saying he couldn't get her out. I went out and called her and out she came. I held her collar while he drove away and then let her go.

Stay safe and healthy.

Pat when do you foresee getting your whole house back ?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well Deb we will have to keep track of your shows, I’d love you to meet Sharon, so much in common.

Dianne are you getting this storm? I can just picture the purolator guy fretting over the dog not knowing if he is friendly or not. Gayle where I get my glass says she cannot get baroque any more..i do have all the glass for a Georgian Bay scene, best i keep a large piece (which I have one set aside) should there be a loon in it…Lordy wouldn’t it look beautiful with all that movement in it.
Was it the flu Dianne..poor Zeke and poor you, hope you are feeling better.

Pat you are always on the run..

Peighton finished her piece..her mom couldn’t get through the door quick enough that she gave it to her..must have said 3-4 times how proud she was of her piece. She was so quick, i tried to take a photo of her giving it to her mom, so quick the photo is blurry.

Peighton has started a lifelong love of crafts. What a lovely legacy of love.

I expect to have my house back in July. The quarter ends late June, that gives them some time after the quarter ends to get a place and move. I will discuss this with them AFTER the first of the year. Although I have told Adam earlier, when I offered them to rent here, since they could not find anything. I want to make it official with an end date. If they find something sooner and leave, GREAT!! LOL Adam will have more than a full year of full time truck driving before then.

I broke down & bought a tree. Now to get it set up and decorated. Back when my Ex was in school, we would buy a fresh tree, I would decorate it & JUST before we left store to go to family for Christmas, we would wrap it in a sheet, deliver it to a friend's house. He would have his kids for Christmas (he did NOT want a tree any longer than necessary because of allergies.) We would come home & he would have stripped the tree, put away all the ornaments & trashed the tree. LOL... too bad I can't find another deal like that!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I have this pattern for a centerpiece, going to try and figure it out.
Have you done this before?
I love that black and white glass too. Can't wait to see your project.
Peighton did a wonderful job.

I am here and still fighting the bug. Finally got an inhaler and i has helped a lot. Biggest problem is not sleeping. I had my garden helper and a female friend of his, that I know, come to the house today and brought all of the Christmas decoration out of the storage room, out of the boxes and then the boxes put back up.

Pat, are you getting the snow Spokane is getting. Luke, my DGS and his mom made a fort today with a wagon full of snow balls. He is waiting from his dad to get home from his hospital calls and then he will be blasted with snow balls.

Betty, is your pain any better?

Karen, I am sorry you were under the weather.

Dianne, I think you and I probably have he same thing but I have not thrown up. Friends have come over to walk Emma so I do not have to go outside to do so. I missed a manicure and a dentist appointment.

I am headed to bed. God bless you all. Hugs, Sharon

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I promised you pics of the gnomes, then wrapped 2 up for door prizes. Here are 5 of the 7 I got. The other 2 are a small one, and a large one. The one with the striped touque is a small one, too.

They are SO soft!!

How did we get to December so quickly??

Morning all, it’s a blizzard out there, probably 1/2 a foot of snow but high winds howling make it impossible to see.

I went and did the steps, my car and Ted next doors car and in I came.

Joe came, we had an argument, i had $$$ for the last storm that he kept telling me he would catch me later but never came for it..he wouldn’t take it and i insisted, once again he called me a stubborn old lady..lol. I even stood in the door so he wouldn’t come put it in the back deck chair after i come in the house.

Susan I love those gnomes..what a deal you got.

Sorry to hear you are still under the weather Sharon . Now that ornaments are within reach perhaps when you are better your granddaughter can come help you decorate.
You are lucky to have neighbours walk Emma. Smiling, your grandkids will so love to surprise dad with snowballs..our snow here is feather light so impossible to make snowballs.

Last few days doing nothing has helped the pain.if only I can get in for appointment next week for injection, I’d rather stay in the state I’m in until this weekend is over..doing a hard weekend and with all those kids Sunday i might undo all the good the injections might do.

I so hope things work out like you’ve arranged and will have your home back to yourself Pat. How is Marie? Love the story about the tree..

i do believe Lindakay I’ve done something similar if not that one..if you go on tutorials there is one you can follow

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I hope you have helpers lined up with all those kids you have coming.
Sharon, sending prayers for a speedy recovery. Seems to be a bunch of different types if crud going around. Susan, I love those gnomes. They are so cute.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Yes, I am still holed up in my bedroom. This cold is a good diet. I was going to change my sheets today but just didn't have the energy. Times like this I need a smaller bed.

Dianne, I forgot to mention to you that I watched the same programs on PBS. I was amazed at how many of the songs I knew by heart.

I walked Emma today and now she wants Dinner.

I will try to get on here earlier tomorrow. Susan, those are adorable.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sharon, did you see a doctor. Lots of virus going around.. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Verona, ON

Good early morning ! I have been up since about 2 am - tried to stay in bed but I am too restless.

Sharon how are you feeling ? I felt well enough yesterday to grocery shop but couldn't this morning. I need to get the boys their month's supply of kibble and treats. They are all out. I keep a small bag of kibble hidden in the back of a closet for emergencies. Sometimes in the winter getting out the lane is next to impossible and heaven forbid the TH should be without food.

Deb are the winter months a good time to work with your dogs ? I tend to do a reaffirm of behaviours this time of year. It is dark by 4:40 ish so we have a very early second walk of the day.

Love the gnomes Susan. A friend gave me 1 a couple of years ago for Christmas. He's a cutie !! It was during the pandemic and she had lots of time on her hands. She is a mortgage broker and her office was shut right down.

I stopped at Foodland yesterday - 2 bags of groceries. The only meat was 2 chicken breasts and 4 slices of deli ham - it was well over $100. One bag of Compliments salad. Just shaking my head. Cleaning supplies have gone through the roof. I'm thinking I am going to get parts of the garden ready for veggies not just flowers.

Betty I hope you got some help for your massive group tomorrow. You are going to be so overwhelmed as they will all be demanding your attention. What is the age span for the class? Did you get an appointment for your injections ? Could the pharmatist do it ?

LK I am so happy you get out to your quilting group. Being the primary caregiver can take its toll - I know too well. Warren lost over 80 lb but for the most part had a healthy appetite. Sending positive thoughts and prayers to you both.

I've decided to set up a 4 ft folding table in the front room so I can do my rug hooking and doodle art and not have to put it away every time I finish for the day.

Zeke has managed to drop 1 of his tartar busters into the upstairs and most used toilets. I can't get it out but will get someone with more strength than I have to give it a yank.

Karen what's on your agenda for this weekend?

Stay safe and healthy.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well now Walt has my snotty cold too. We just sitting here like a couple soggy lumps. Both had to cancel appointments. First thing they ask is "did you get tested?" No it's a head cold, people still get them.

Brought home this little dress my mother knitted. When she made it and gave it to me, she said it's for your first great granddaughter when you get one. Then she made and gave me another one. I made little silk slips for them. She was trying to make a third when she passed. Sometimes she would just sit and hold the yarn and needles. Others she would unravel and start over because there was a mistake. Then she forgot how to cast on so I would do it for her and she might make an inch or so and then rip out again. By the end the pink yarn was just a grey tangled mess which I discarded.

Beautiful dress Karen. It will be cherished for a long time.
Sorry to hear Walt is sick. Praying for a speedy recovery.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening, just heading to bed but thoughtI should check in..

Karen what a beautiful memory and piece..you should have the dress set in a shadow dress frame. Did your granddaughters wear it. I can just see your mom holding knitting needles and wool, made her feel good. Hope Walt gets over his cold quickly.

Sharon, did you get a prescription? They say to open windows wide to let fresh air in and change bedding to rid the germs but when you are I’ll who feels like doing laundry and remaking beds.

Dianne that is a great idea about the 4’ table,i hated spending more time setting up and taking down each day i worked on a project than actual work. That way if you want to work for 1/2 hr or so it’s already set up. Do you buy the kit with pre-cut and pre-numbered wool. Do you have a snake to try and clear the toilet? Did Zeke get into trouble. Are you getting the winds?

I had the best sleep I’ve had in years…took meds/hot bath then positioned bed in a ‘U’ position, had I not had a perm appointment at 10:15 I think I would have slept til noon.

Dianne, I just needed fruit and pop so went to Food Basics, had 5 items in the cart, there had to be 50 people ahead of me, didn’t have the patience so put the items back .tomorrow going to the funeral will likely get me to shopping area around 1, hopefully lines won’t be as heavy.

Picked up the kayak piece and Evan’s piece, now to finish it..bought all i need for last of the SG Christmas gifts, thank the Lord.

Ziggy is laying beside me, my eyes are heavy so heading to bed..

Get well friends

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

SO glad you had a good sleep, Betty :)

Linda Kay - was it you that gave me the quilted Christmas balls oh-so-many-years-ago? I have them on my tree every year. I love them!

Tomorrow I wind up the Silent Auction at noon, then go over to Silver Willow to update the bids on each one (some have updated on our website).
Tomorrow at Noon the bidding stops & I'll notify the winners of each item (those who are members of SW can get them at our dinner Sunday night).
At 1:30 I'll go over to SW & with the help of at least 3 people I'll move all the Auction items & we can get set up for the dinner and decorate the hall. That should be good for a 5 hour stint LOL
Yesterday I received my Chrisco Christmas hamper, and with my change in diet (fewer carbs), about 1/3 of it is going into a hamper that I will auction off at the dinner (not sure if before or after - before, people will bid hungry lol). It's about $200 worth - 7kg turkey, frozen apple pie, and a lot of other carb stuff I don't eat anymore. There are tinned goods, too. Just a whole bunch of stuff I don't need to eat. I still have a turkey left over from last year's hamper (it comes with 2), and I gave one to a friend of mine. Who needs 3 turkeys, as a single person? So, I'm left with one 7kg turkey & a turkey roll I bought seperately.
The proceeds from the hamper will go to SW.
My fruitcakes aren't selling this year. I donated one to the Auction, and it's going for $16 so far. Last year I sold them for $20, and this year $25. The cost of making them is so expensive. One person was interested, but she wanted marzipan frosting, and I don't do that. (ick - talk about a sugar high!)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well Susan you certainly are Santa’s little elf and a blessing to your group and friends. Can’t see anyone making a dollar on selling anything related to food.

Already the to do about Christmas is who will have it, whose Christmas dinner to attend etc. Sharon says I can’t cook, won’t argue there.

Ohhh think i know why i slept so good, when i had a cold last year by the time doctor gave me prescription i was over my cold. Well last night my throat was sore so i got up during the night and took a tsp of narcotic cold medicine, must have been that.

Tonight I fell asleep and woke up, throat is sore so I’ll go take more meds but will make sure i set the alarm to get up at 6, long day tomorrow.

Got Hydro alert saying with the winds that they’re expecting tonight and tomorrow that there’s a very good chance of power outage and that their crews are already on call should they be needed

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, praying you get a good night's sleep tonight as well.
Loved the family photo and that beautiful stained glass piece.
Susan, yes, I made those Christmas balls for just about everyone years ago. Glad to hear they are still decorating your tree. Hope you raise lots of funds this weekend.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks again, Linda Kay - they're admired by all who see them.

Betty - I changed the Auction of the Christmas hamper to a Raffle. That way it won't cost as much for them, and make more $$ for Silver Willow. $10 per ticket. LOL I won't be buying a ticket!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I caught up reading will try to comment more tomorrow. Working like crazy person trying to get more doll clothes made. I talked my SIL Sharon to come over after 5 PM when her grandson was gone, she brought dinner for us. Sharon agreed to work "in the sweat shop". I had her clipping stray threads & turning everything right side out. When she caught up, I had her putting all the elastic in the waist bands, then I would finish up the sewing & she start the clip & turn right side out process again.. I worked over 13 hours & she put in 5. Another 3 hours this morning & ready to head over to Maries.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all..

Taking a 10 minute break before bed..I’ve got the craft room set up for tomorrow, few things to do then I might play a bit or just might sit and enjoy all the lights flickering.

Thought i posted this morning, remember now why I had such a good night sleep the night before, had a bit of a scratch and had taken some kind of codine cough medicine, this morning i had lost a lot of my voice so took more, scratchy again so i sure hope I will be ok for tomorrow morning.

I am here and still stuck in the chair in my bedroom. But I am better than I was yesterday, so making progress. I took a nice warm shower this morning and washed my hair. The warm shower and the washing of my hair seems to get al of the muck in my head

Betty & Sharon - I hope you both feel better soon. Sleep Angels are on their way to you.

Morning, cold, wind is up but all in all a great day for winter Christmas workshop.

All is in order, having a coffee and maybe get 10 minutes before my first class arrives.

Hope you are all feeling better today.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, you never replied to anyone, but I do hope you have helpers for today's class.
Take photos please

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Spent 13 hours at the hospital. I have pneumonia and Covid. No clue where I got it from . I know of no one who has it. They wanted me to stay but the covid isolation rooms are little cells with no windows and the doors closed at all time. Of course no visiter either. I am waaay too claustrophobic to endure that so home I came. Feeling must better today, antibiotics are helping a bunch. Walt started all this a few days behind me so he most likely has it too. Will be seeing his Dr. in a couple days.

Sorry to hear that Karen. Can you call your Doctor, explain that hubby has same symptoms? Maybe they can just call in script for him? Do you have home testing kits? You went in last week for infusions, maybe someone there had it?
Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I’m on an hour break,

Oh Lordy Karen that does not sound the best, don’t think i could stay in a room without windows ether..drats, pneumonia and Covid, sending prayers for both you and Walt.

Qno did not have help

First class 9 out of 12 showed up
Noon class 5 out of 12 showed up
The 5:30 class 2 have already cancelled

I said if that happened it would be last of workshops
Think I’m too old for this stuff

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear they were smaller classes.
I hope they paid in full before the class, and funds are non refundable.
