I'm staying busy, AND losing weight. Really happy about that. I need to lose about 40 lbs more. So far I figure I've lost about 20 lbs. Don't figure I look 9 months pregnant LMAO
Best/Worse/what did I learn Today? Come sit awhile and share you day..newcomers always welcome!
Pat, yes it is delightful. I guess this will be an every Sunday thing from now on. Granddaughter and her husband moved in my rental after major fix up from last tenant. He just finished his internship and has accepted a job here with a major hospital group. He is an ER doctor. Other granddaughter is here with her two two children while her husband is on rotations. Rotations are when you are visiting different hospitals for 6 weeks at a time. Hospital and medical school student pick where they want to be or who they want and in March, "Match Day", the student get a notice of where he is going for his internship. They have sold their hoe in St Louis and waiting to see where their next adventure may be. They are actually placing St Louis high on their list. He will be specializing in urology. So another 5 years.
Our weather is still in the 90s but barely. A little breezy today but doable.
Pat we will all celebrate when your crew move out and you get your home back. We are going over to granddaughter home, my rental, to prepare a vegetable garden for them. Family project. Bed is already there, soil just needs refreshing and irrigation fixed.
Susan, losing 20 pounds is two dress or pants sizes. I usually only eat twice a day.
Karen, how exciting you are finally getting to go purchase your new home and get moved. Make sure you car fits in the garage. Several individuals here have purchased homes and the garages are to short in length for the new trucks.
Betty, have you had your mother's birthday lunch yet.
I am starting on my income taxes this afternoon. Just abut have them done. I just need to do it.
I will return. Hugs
Evening all, just got back from supper with Sharon and Mom..knew I shouldn’t have the fish and chips…mom had chicken Alfredo so know what she will have for lunch and supper tomorrow.Karen, imagine you are up north, wish you both all the luck in getting your new home.can’t imagine having to move again but then you’ve had much already packed.
Congratulations Susan, you’ve done well, keep it up as you will be at your goal before you know it.
How delightful to be able to share eats with the family Sharon.have to smile at the thought of you helping out in another garden.you will be in great Hans Sharon having your own doctors.
Pat isn’t that a good sign getting a call Re rental..you didn’t give them bad reviews right? Sounds positive.
Deb, would imagine you are busy with dog shows..Sharon told e she has a dog show. About 100 miles from here on the 10th then leaves for a big show day after in Indiana.
Are you rained out yet Dianne? We are much luckier than Puerto Rico, poor people.
Does the Th still want to go for their walks.
Was up 1/2 the night watching Queen Elizabeth’s funeral then left to get my hip xrayed.. just got home and got a call Re picking up some fabric so back to midland I went. Mom got hereabout 2, chatted the out for eats.
Will watch the news then bedtime
I did not give them a bad review. I could confirm when they moved in and no bounced checks etc. I admit when they asked if A&A were eligible to rent again, I stretched the truth when I said "Yes". I was thinking "Heck NO, I never want them in my house again! LOL"
I have my dress for the wedding!!! It came early & they shipped a size smaller than I ordered but it still fit as I ordered it larger than I needed so I could alter.
I sent pictures of bride bouquets, so she can decide size & shape, so I have a better idea of what Gloria wants. I drew up a picture of the table centerpieces I designed based on the pics she showed me that she liked. We got that settled. We are making headway! The joys of silk flowers, you can do them PLENTY in advance!
Morning, not calling for rain but will be an overcast day.
Pat, there you go, going full speed ahead, praying here that they get the place, i so would like to see you and Stanley can enjoy your home. The florals will be beautiful, of course we need to see the florals.
Sharon has a 10 a.m. hair appointment then i think once Sharon is home mom will visit with her for the day.
Pat had an appointment this morning so June called to tell me she would wait to come next week so it gives me the morning with mom.
Dianne, I,be black patina for many years, used them all, not turning solder black, guess it has expiration date or is there something I m not doing?
Coffee time then get dressed
If i don’t move I will fall asleep
Thought I’d check up on the news today..guess all are busy.
I won 1sr prize with a photo i entered here at DG.. won a year’s subscription and a Dg bag I believe..was a nice surprise!
Well cool Betty! I did not even go & look this year. I have not had an interest in entering anything.
Today was the deadline for submitting the Challenge quilts, we nearly missed it! I drove out & picked up Marie's and finished her entry forms. The quilt show is this weekend, and I am eager to see all the entries. (Yep, I'll be taking pictures & sharing them with you all.) Marie's church is having a luncheon that same day, so she has purchased us tickets for that as well.
Gloria gave me pics of all the bouquets she liked off Pinterest and they were very consistent, that made it easy. I ordered the flowers for the corsage, bouts & her bouquet and centerpieces. I have not done wedding flowers in years, so I had to really get tuned up on what is the current trend. Gloria was surprised to learn that flowers arrangements etc. were just as changing as any other fashion.
I have been studying up on how to do faux mercury glass. I have realized the vases we chose may not lend themselves to this technique. The vase is too narrow, need a much bigger opening so they can be sprayed without getting too close. I am going to experiment in doing the OUTSIDE of the vase and see if that is a suitable solution.
1AM, guess I had better head to bed. This is what happens when I get on Amazon & I am making decisions on which products to order!
Betty, that is awesome. Congratulations.
Pat, good luck with your quilts in the show. Can't wait to see photos.
Morning, overcast here, I walked the gardens, ground is layered with leaves. Big sigh..
Lucky you Pat that you are included in making this wedding special..big undertaking. Looks like it was a late for you and I and an early morning for Lindakay.
Look forward to seeing your entries and those the other did. When you have more time if you could explain specifics of this challenge..sounds so interesting and a challenge. Marie sure is keeping you busy
How are you both doing Lindakay, are you back to sewing with your group?
Mom should be getting up any minute..she has hair appointment at 11:15am then off to see Aunt Muriel, I have a class at 5:00 so maybe i can do 1/2 hr sewing this morning then this aft.
Right now I’m sitting cutting up muslin I dyed in coffee and cutting kits for making crust.
I am now using my acorn chairlift, dampness is in every bone..yuck
When i go for my injections next week likely doctor will have X-ray results..am sure he will say just old age lol
Enjoy your day..
Time of year, everyone must be busy..
We were suppose to have a bad storm, we did have heavy rain for about 45 minutes but the main storm passed us by, sun is out.
Wondered why it was so hot in here, not a wonder, I made over 60 deer/gingerbread pieces, they need cooking for 3 1/2 hours so doesn’t take long to warm house. I thought as i wanted to just play today thought I’d get ahead of the game and do the small ones with flour/water and salt for December’s workshop so now to find bigger cookie cutter..this is what we will do early December.
Mom went to get her hair done, she is now visiting with aunt Muriel, my niece Tonya just visited for a half hour, she is a pharmacist so was on her way to work but wanted to drop off a fern coming from baby fern that came from my grandma’s fern..i feel blessed as i lost mine when Roger died.
She also brought me preserves so yum yum
Just sitting here, took out Chinese from freezer, will have supper before Peighton comes.
Sitting here knitting on my 3rd dishcloth, something easy to do..did not go downstairs and sew..
We are still doing ok. No improvement for Todd yet, slowly still losing weight, even though he eats anything he wants. 2 round of chemo pills. They make him really tired.
I see the quilting ladies every Wednesday for lunch, I don't stay all day. Worried about Todd at home by himself. But I am sewing st home, keeping myself busy while Todd takes his naps.
Betty, I hope you get good report from the x-rays.
Sorry he is still losing weight, likely the meds he is taking..hard for you to watch but know you are right by his side. Prayers and hugs
Bit of tragedy a few miles from here, my neighbour Jamie’s brother was killed earlier an a dump trick and truck collision..sad
Kyle was at the scene sent me photos
Oh no!. Sorry to hear that. Sending prayers for all.
I am sorry to hear of your neighbor's loss.
Yep, doesn't take long & the house heats up!
Was 78, have doors and windows open, storm passing thru and it’s humid.
I kept a dozen not baked, someone said if i leave them dry on their own they will cure so testing it
They drink a bit , were 2 1/2” but more like 2”, need about30+ of around 4” so will be on the hunt for larger ones..know i have some but can’t find them.
LOL... I am assuming you mean SHRINK??
My left hearing aid just DIED. I mean nothing. The earliest they have an opening is next Tuesday. NOT fun.
That's a lot of gingerbread men. I bet it takes lots of flour.
Pat, hope you can. Get an appointment sooner..
Lol yes to shrinking Pat, oh no, you would think they would have emergency appointments. You do have some hearing though on other side? Drats, they are not cheap. No news on new accommodations so you can get your home back?
I did double batch Lindakay, 4 cups of flour, 2 salt then water so not bad..i will paint a few to see how they look
Feet are bad, just rubbed them ointment hopefully the sandman will come. Lots of wind..back to another episode of Elementary.

Looks like you are not sleeping Betty. Hope you get some rest
Morning all, guess that storm down south is also playing havoc with our weather..will have to go out and pick up limbs..drats, if I soon don’t stop picking limbs there will be no limbs on the trees.
Karen, how is the new home search or acceptance of an offer going.
Was a long night, just took meds, rubbed my feet, if I had the small batteries I’d use the big floor set Dr.Ho and get circulation back in them..likely the weather in these old bones. Know mom’s remote control has batteries I need so just might take them out and use.
Mom had planned on going home this morning but i am not sure she will..she said last night she hated the thought of going home, lonely..you know what I wanted to say but instead I told her nobody said she had to leave today so we will see.
Need to call pharmacy, almost out of all my meds..will mean at some point today I will have to get dress 😓
What are you all doing today?
Mom just got up, best i make coffee
Beautiful,those curves look complicated..special template?
I have a bin full of earth tones and also backing..that would be a good one..trying to use up what I have.
Wind is strong so inside I am..just vacuumed, going to wash upstairs floors then I too might sew on Xmas throw.
Mom mixes pumpkin in dogs food, smells, so I’ve a bunch of candles going to take odour away.
Like you want to do lots BUT body has other plans.
Can they do anything for your back? I find that pillow with arms is so comfortable while sitting here on couch, helps back.
Omg, so many of my prescriptions needed refill, I feel like a druggie.
Here in Canada we get our prescriptions free, just under $2.00 for pharmacy prep but in September they charge a bit extra til we pay the $100.00 deductible, I am 1/2 way there so likely I will be charged the other 1/2 today..like it when it’s paid, really should pay it outright.
YES, I have ONE working hearing aid, better than nothing.
Pumpkin is what the vet told Marie to use when her Pug was constipated. You don't use much....
Sewing today, I hope to get the binding on DIL Carrie's quilt. I expect to deliver it 10/1. Carrie was finally offered the full-time permanent position at the company she had been hired for temp work over and over. I am sure she would have gotten hired sooner but she would ONLY consider ONE particular shift (that met Dana & Carrie's needs). The company is online and supplies college textbooks, so the need fluctuates with the new semester's enrollment.
Kevin & Gloria have sent out their invitations via email and are already getting RSVPs back.
Betty - congratulations on winning @DG! Nice surprise.
LK - sorry that Todd's still losing weight. It might very well be the meds.
I continue to lose weight (for me, it's YAAAAAAAY!) I'd gladly give some of mine to Todd if I could.
I also continue to re-do my home. I'm really enjoying it more & more.
Had another counselling session this morning. I really enjoy talking to the counsellor. He's very good.
17 more sleeps until I go to Georgia!!
Bet you can't wait for your trip Susan. Praying your flights are on time, no delays or cancelation.
Betty, the. Quilt is 5 inch squares all sewn together, then you use this template to applique on top. Then the pattern. Called for circles at each intersection.
Cut two of the pattern, sew together. Then cut slit on the back to turn. Then just applique in place.

Pat, that is beautiful.
Morning, sunshine day here, ground covered with leaves so sure Fall has definitely arrived.
Well Lindakay that is quite the design..is it a keeper?
Smiling Susan, can see you are getting excited about the trip…excited for you as well..a well deserved visit with a friend. How is Susan doing?
Pat, it’s lovely, must go back and enlarge to see the the quilting part.great idea about it being full size so it can go over pillows vs sham..I am a sham and lots of pillows kind of gal as you would be able to see on all my beds..lol
Taking today as a play day, little work and little play. Just spent 1/2 hr sewing on Christmas throw promising no more than 4- 1/2 hour sessions during a day as not to aggravate muscles.
Need to go into wood working room and find the tote that has glue guns and see how many glue guns I have, am sure I need glue..have any of you used the cold glue?? Would be better for kids..
Just remembered I haven’t had morning coffee yet nor a bite to eat, with all the meds I am taking Im feeling light headed as a few must be taking after eating.
This afternoon I will do some shopping inMidland, groceries and stained glass supplies..has been a couple of weeks since I’ve done a piece so best I start another another as for me Christmas is right around the corner and not a whole lot of time seeing I’ve more classes and workshops..almost feel as though I’m working a part time job..
Off I go, coffee, outside and maybe cut down some plants, clean for winter, not overdoing.
Just listening to update, our east coast provinces will be hit by the storm, perhaps worse yet on record.
As many classes as you are teaching, YOU ARE working part time!!
Thanks for the kind words. The quilt gave me so many troubles in the beginning that I had to set it aside. I thought I was ready to tackle one that big, but I was wrong!!! It was so big that it just didn't leave any room in the margins for test/practice when I had tension issues. The machine started giving me fits and we had to call in help. I am pleased with how it turned out and I know Carrie will love it.
Don't know what I will do with the quilt. I have 15 in large tubs now. Most likely donate them to charity. I just like to quilt, keeps my mind off hubbies illness for a awhile.
Thanks for asking, Betty. Susan is able to drive now, and that's a big step. However, she can't go back to work because her Dr said she would have to work seated all day, no walking around. Her regular job would involve a lot of walking, so she doesn't know what will happen.
Yes, I am getting excited - 16 more sleeps :))
Can understand Lindakay how you feel, it’s an overwhelming thing you are both going through, hopefully Todd is a good patient for you, know i had hard times with Roger so it’s great that you quilt, just sitting doing nothing would be bad.I am sure you will find a home for them, so many worthwhile causes these days.
Pat, there must be something with the internal setting to be giving you that much trouble, sure hope they are giving you extra time on it..do they have same machine
set up?
Susan, that will be terrible for Susan, hope there are government agencies that can help financially is she is unable to work or is she at an age that she should be retired?
Not sure but i think it’s 67 for retirement.
Well got to Midland, sat and chatted with Gayle Re my next stained glass project..we will try and put a yellow kayak in the Georgian bay scene, now to sketch one in correct size. Bought the bevels and a lot of the glass has to be cut on my saw..she laughed, said she must have designed this particular piece when she got her saw and started to test it out.
Just had my bath, hate Fridays, after shopping I can’t move..of course I sewed for 1/2 hour, did all the floors downstairs and ironed some fabric that had been given to me so a full day in before I went to town.
Went to one of the $$stores, $$$ plus, they had witch hats, fair size that I need for my next workshop so I bought 30 hats incase they run out and the yellow flowers and stars out of metal that I can rust.
Should have gone to Walmart but just couldn’t, another day.
Seeing i had my hot bath, wasn’t in for long, on the community hub I asked if anyone had a bigger cookie cutter that I could use and Joe who does the back yard plowing dropped in with a box of cutters his wife had..there was one i think will work, might be too big, we will see sooo I jumped out of the tub after being in it for a couple of minutes.
Going to eat, get my dr.Ho for shoulder, put that cbd/thc salve on my hip, add foot salve for my feet take my meds, get comfy in bed and voila, lord willing another day tomorrow?
Will check on how the Mari times are doing with this storm
Have a nice evening
What a busy day for you.
Todd is an awesome patient. Totally different story when he was in the hospital under the influence of those drugs. He was angry and horrible. I would have hated to have been his nurse then.
Hope you get a good night's sleep.
Sounds like you had a busy day Betty, but then you usually do!!! You are right about buying the witches hats when you saw them, they could be gone tomorrow!
Marie & I got lots of help after/during that problem quilt, we quilted several smaller quilts and then took an edge-to-edge quilting class from a pro, THEN I went back and finished that quilt. We learned several things that have made our longarm work much better, less problems.
Pics are close up of the quilting. It's a 3-leaf clover that repeats. White thread on top, gray on back.
Susan just turned 61. Bad age to be looking for a job. She's also missing 3 fingers on her two hands (industrial accident).
I sure am looking forward to seeing her again. It's been 3 years......... she was here last in the summer of 2019
61 is a tough age to be looking for work. Adding in her disability will make it tougher. Does she have good enough health to be a para-pro at the school? They are VERY understaffed, and it does not take special schooling. Health care agencies (at least here) are looking for people to train to become caregivers. The work varies widely about what is expected of them.
Bad age for sure..perhaps she will not be as concerned as likely has workers compensation monthly pension for the loss of her fingers.will do her good to see you.
Hoping other ladies here are ok
Pat - wouldn't a para-pro be required to be on their feet alot? That's what she can't do.
Classes over for the day
Mason did pumpkins in his class, had to go outside and pick some of Mother Nature for them
This was Selma’s 3rd class, finished a runner for her moms table
Was going to go to town to pick up Kentucky fried chicken but decided i could eat here and put my feet up once i clear everything of 2 tables so I can teach tomorrows class
Awesome projects.
Betty, Dianne, hope this storm wasn't in your area. Parts if Canada hot hit pretty hard
