Glorious day here as well. I could take this weather year round.
My job today is to deep clean the fridge. I've be saying I was going to do it for a few days but always seem to find a way to avoid doing it.
Sending positive thoughts and vibes your way Pat that Adam and his wife get the apartment they are viewing or at least any apartment that is not in your home. You have worked hard all of your life and deserve to enjoy ALL of your home.
Well Zeke out did himself overnight. Most of you know I have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep so every once in a while I take a Rx sleeping pill. I should have put Zeke in his crate but he has been so good overnight lately I left him out. I woke up to a chewed right through charging cord for my Kindle/Phone. It was in 3 pieces but the end that plugs into the device is nowhere in sight. *SIGH* I immediately thought of Debbie's Miss Izzy. Ever since Debbie's problems with Izzy's I keep a can of pumpkin on hand. Just hoping that I won't have to use it. He's been a little devil all day.
Great news about the camping group you have joined Susan. I am not much of a camper though. Don't mind roughing it - can deal with no hydro, no running water and outhouse but no tent for me.
Betty I really like the textured glass piece. Have you thought about going to the glass wholesaler I think he is in Brampton ? It really makes a difference in the price of items.
Karen it's exciting to look for a new home. Hope you find 1 quickly and put that worry behind you.
My nephews just called and I didn't answer. I know I am a crappy aunt. They will either ask for money or spend the whole conversation telling me life isn't fair to them. I don't understand how my sister raised 2 whiners - she certainly wasn't one and had many reasons to be one. Neither 1 of them has ever worked a day in their life.
Betty raccoons are so smart. My cleaning lady was telling me yesterday she has set a trap for the 1 harassing her for 3 days in a row. It always manages to get the food out without getting caught. One morning the trap was several yards away on the path to the lake. Years ago we had 1 who loved our deck and the BBQ. One night I looked out and it was chewing away on the BBQ cleaning brush. Some nights he brought a date and they would sit staring into the house through the sliding door begging for food. Drove the whole household crazy.
Think the TH and I will get an extra walk in since it is so nice out.
Best/Worse/what did I learn Today? Come sit awhile and share you day..newcomers always welcome!
Hoping weather doesn’t change on you Dianne, looks as though a storm is brewing..Zeke had to entertain himself, sure hope you find the cord end, likely he carried it out and hid it. From local hub it’s obvious there is no food out there and they are hungry..notices asking everyone to bring in their bird feeders. When those raccoons come and beg for food they look so cute you’d love to feed them.
Can understand your not wanting to answer the phone, sometimes i see mom’s name come up and i think twice about answering (when she is on a rampage)
My cousin Brenda called, she drove up from Windsor to visit her daughter a few towns away, they are avid bicyclists so they were a taking the trails to midland for eats, so they were here for a hour.lovely visit. Linda and Brenda and I were raised on same block, i was like the elder sister..Tanya is a pharmacist and works in midland Walmart pharmacy, told her about not getting my injection meds, she will try and locate some. Doctor just called, he doesn’t think the constant pain in my hip and feet is related to my shoulder..i will go to Midland hospital Monday and get it xrayed..imagine Dianne, the medical center that did X-rays closed as they can’t find staff..imagine..so you go to hospital emerge and wait until they can do X-ray.
Have Peighton coming to sew after school, her mom will drive her so likely will be 4:30 before she gets here. Hoping to go to midland once she leaves as Ziggy wants her ham
When Brenda called about dropping in i made bread pudding, they were going for eats so decided they would not have any..still hoy i had a dish, sooo good, i could so easily eat the whole thing today
The first date with Ben was out to dinner & we shared a bread pudding for dessert. I have especially missed him so much lately. I think when I am sad it intensified the grieving and vs versa.
That it does Pat, always feel they could make all that is wrong with the world right, take all of daily pressures off of us…all of you with hubbies give them a big big hug..
Tanya that avisited today said they had some meds that could help me Re injections, going to calldr’s office 1st thing tomorrow
I hope you find something that helps with the pain Betty.
Dianne, keep an eye on Zeke. They can be stinkers sometimes.
Glad to hear you can possibly get your pain meds Betty.
Hoping these meds continue to help you, Betty
Senior's meeting tomorrow, so will have to do the job of President & secretary.
I've made some cupcakes & will make cream cheese icing & decorate them like a full cake.
Making jalapeno poppers (with cream & cheddar cheeses), made some dip for crackers, and tomorrow our Senior's group will have fried chicken & corn on the cob (some don't eat off the cob, so I'm taking canned kernel corn too).
As well, I'll take a roasted radish salad (with anchovy fillets & capers). This should be interesting lol
The fried chicken is fully cooked, just frozen, so I have them in the fridge to thaw out before heating them in the senior's kitchen.
My treasurer, Dianne, didn't think it was the 3rd Thurs yet. Because the month started on a Thurs, a lot of people are confused.
Tues night, at the Legion, they didn't have Cribbage because of the 10 days of mourning Queen Elizabeth. At 10am on Monday they're asking people to observe a minute of silence to honour her.
ooooooooops - every misplace/forget $$? I just found an envelope of $$ that was supposed to go into the bank for the Wellness Group. $500 of it and another $300. I'd better put it in the bank on Friday. I'll be too busy tomorrow.
I've never heard of roasted radish salad, sounds interesting!
Morning, sun is shining, must have gotten real low low temps last night, all windows were fogged in
Didn’t go to town last night, just too tired but am on my way as soon as i finish my coffee..could go tomorrow but with having the workshop next Sunday i thin I best get supplies now and make up kits over the weekend.
Sounds like you are the only doing the eats Susan. Yep best you get to the bank seeing it’s club $$$, they will be wanting a current report or do you only do that months end. I loved radish sandwiches when i was young, haven’t heard of roasted radish salad though.
Yes, minute of silence will be observed here..imagine got to see the queen and near her horse driven carriage, as a child that was nothing but as a adult it was nice..
Dianne, did you find the other part of the cord?
Best take my meds and head out, want it to be a quick pick up as John and Darlene are stopping 8n for a visit.
Lily comes to sew tonight so a full day
Drats, went to Walmart and got my tense pads, should have bought a few while they are in stock, best I do.
What i really needed was the $$ store for all the metal pie plates and midge podge but something was wrong with their system and was down, she called the other one and it was down as well soooo home i am without supplies, guess tomorrow afternoon i will pick up what i need when i go pick up my stained glass piece from Gayle’s and buy glass for my next project
https://www.marthastewart.com/1155075/roasted-radishes-capers-and-anchovies
I had to look hard to find Anchovies (not the paste, the fillets).
Thanks, Susan, for the recipe.
I am not a happy camper when I go shopping, only you find out the computer system is down. I have done that a few times, and all they can do is. Say I'm sorry.
Lindakay, i thing they can’t open because none know how to add without electronics, so many times you give them change to make it easier and they have no clue.
Thanks for recipe Susan, going to read up on it
Sharon picked up pie plates for me..now have 30 .. only had enough black spray to do 15..tomorrow is another day.
Darlene and John came for a nice visit..got some stained glass supplies which included another soldering iron and solder.
I sat here most of the day and played with tracing and cut out of my next project
Lily’s mom messaged me, asked if Lily can come next Thursday’s tonight..i almost said ‘god bless’ hot bath and meds instead.
I checked on your weather Betty and it looks like yu are getting a lot of rain.
We had rain last week and a little the first part of this week.. Death Valley got flooded again. I got some of my winter vegetables planted. I have another bed I will plant as soon as my garden helper helps get new soil added. He will be here tomorrow. Currently we are in the high 80s. At least triple digits temperatures are gone for this year. Suppose to cool off early next week but that will bring in some wind. In a few days, probably end of next week, it will be time of year to plant spring flowers.
I still have quite a few hummingbirds. And two resident dragonflies. Crazy Peanut lies in wait trying to catch a dragonfly.
Pat, whatever you do, do not co sign for their lease. I am so looking forward, for you, to have your home and your life back.
Susan, with you providing the majority of the food, does the club reimburse you? You are one busy lady and that is always a good thing.
Linda, what did the doctors say. I love how all the sanctuary cities are screaming big time because they got a few bus loads of immigrants.
Betty, what are you doing for your mother's birthday. I am with you on the radish sandwich. sliced, salted on buttered white bread. I also really enjoy cucumber sandwiches.
Doctor said his hemoglobin is improving, and he wasn't worried about him losing weight.
Gee whiz Lindakay, you would imagine he would be concerned. Is Todd feeling stronger? How is sewing/quilting going?
Sharon, as of now she says she is going to my brother michael’s Saturday (her birthday) then likely here Sunday. Sharon and i will take her out one day she is here, either lunch or supper.
Cucumber sandwhich Kept me going all summer that and tomato, had to buy a bread this morning which means i ate an entire loaf since Friday.
Only a few hummers this summer, don’t recall dragonfly, been years..had a woodpecker in the tree this afternoon.you must be thrilled to have temps in 80’s. More likely Peanuts wants to play with them.
While vacuuming this morning i got 2 dead bees near front window,am thinking Ziggy got them. Hard to imagine death valley flooding… Mother Nature is NOT happy with us.
When will you get winter crops?
In bed with Dr.Ho, massaging my feet for the last hour 😜
Ted next door made apple pies so she brought one over, keep telling them i am trying to lose that 10lbs i put back on after losing 22 so in the freezer it went.
Almost forgot pie plates outside on lawn
No, I will NOT co-sign & I hope they are not foolish enough to ask me.
Our weather has been down in the low 80s and I am sooooo grateful!
What are you doing with all the pie tins?
Morning, looks like a rain day, all day rain..must turn on all the lights as it’s so dark and it’s 9am.
How long Pat do things like getting living quarters usually take? Wouldn’t it be nice if they were out for Christmas..likely just a phase of wanting their own place and will settle in like an old shoe. Does your other family members not say something..how is your quilt project coming along?
Linda Kay, I have a total of about 28 kids coming to do the pies for their thanksgiving
table.
Won’t be doing much today, pushing my back into back of couch to put pressure on it
Soooo very tired of this..
If the new landlord approves them, and their current renters are out by Oct 1, there is NO reason why they can't be moved in by Oct 15.
The wall hanging quilt is really almost done. I have the buttons sewn on but I have a few more things I just bought, bee, ladybug & I still have to prepare a "sign" that will hang on the barn advertising "LIVESTOCK AUCTION this Saturday". Marie tried to make me one on the embroidery machine and we had issues. I may paint one.
28 kids!!! HOLY COW, you go girl!!! I hope your pain eases.
I leave for Portland in the next few hours.
oops, duplicate post
The dog beds we made & delivered yesterday. 2 are 40 x 25, the other smaller sizes to fit the smaller dog crates, total of 5. All stuffed with fabric clippings for prior projects, fleece pieces too small to do anything with & the borders cut off after longarm. Then all chopped into pieces no bigger than 2inches by 2inches

Betty, thst is a huge class. I hope you have helpers.
Beautiful dog beds Pat. Praying your son gets approved for the new place.
Heading up on Sunday to hopefully start deal on new house.
Those dog beds are spectacular..I’d make one for Ziggy if he would use it but cats are different, he likes my bed and downstairs couch..safe travels
Ohhh then the potential buyers signed? Good luck Karen. On finding your perfect home..closing date i think you said end of October?
Lindakay i have half the class from 9-noon then the over 1/2 in afternoon on September 25th..Think there were more wanting to do it sooo i might do the following Sunday morning. Not too bad, i cut up all the sponges that takes forever and I’m not sure kids could cut them, i barely can..they are all done and i zip lock bags for next step..i don’t want them doing pie plates because there is no guarantee that it won’t be raining or damp and spray paint won’t dry so that gives me lots of time to sit with the and get one done.
Know I have to go out and here i am still in my jammies., cold, windy and rain, put that big fabric armrest i got from Walmart a few years ago that i put on end of bed so covers don’t lay on my feet here on couch, in sitting position pushing my back into it.
Will pick up groceries that i need to get me through weekend so i don’t have to carry bags.
of course I get reimbursed for the groceries I (and Dianne) buy for the Silver Willow dinners etc.Chicken was $25/bag, and the corn was $11.81. Have the receipts lol
Great news Susan, would want anyone taking advantage of you lol
So damp, not a wonder bones are hurting.
Thanks to Tanya my niece I was able to get my prescription, called Dr.’s office and they open on Tuesday so am hoping not a long wait for the injections.. I’m so appreciative that Tonya dropped in but annoyed that my pharmacist said he would check to see if he could find some somewhere and here down the road about 10 miles was some..I need a few other meds and will be certain to mention it to him.
Went to Gayle’s and got glass for new project and picked up the match to the one i finished for Greg and Mel..I’ll do what i need to do this weekend and there is their large gift..hurrah..getting there.
Know it’s only 5 but i have 3 sewing classes tomorrow and want to rest the shoulders.
Glad to hear you finally found your meds Betty. Praying the doctor can give them to you soon.
Karen, congratulations on the house sale. Good luck finding what you need.
Sure is a fall day, leaves are falling off the trees, don’t know if there will be enough fall colour though for the tours.
Been having my coffee enjoying all the fall pieces in the room flickering, so homey..i so enjoy this time of year
Been looking for a big cutter for gingerbread man but can’t find one..will pass the word around in hopes someone will loan me one.
Hope your day is filled with sunshine
I muss seeing the fall colors. Hope you find the cutter you need.
I found something I'm very pleased about.
Around the time I accidentally threw my dentures out in the trash, I thought I also threw out some damning info on Bob (re: him trying to get a loan for a motorcycle, in 2021). I found it today! It's the application to the bank, with the notation on the front put there by the bank "Naomi may grab". He never followed through because the mobile home is not an asset of his, because he's NOT on the title. BUT, I have it, and 6 condoms he had in his dresser drawer. I didn't find them until he'd been out of the home for over a month. I never did like going through someone's personal items, but nor did I want to keep them in the house, so I finally went through everything last December & found things he was hiding from me.
What does it mean, Naomi may grab?
Heading north in the morning. Hoping all works out with the condo.
Safe travels Karen. Praying all works out in your favor.
Linda Kay - it means that his girlfriend was with him when he went for the loan. She would be able to get the paperwork from the bank if he wasn't around.
Several months ago I got an automated phone call from that bank, saying they were calling on behalf of him. I suppose that's when he closed his accounts there, and because I had access to them, I had to be notified. At that time I wasn't going into it, and thought I'd thrown away the card. I hadn't but I didn't care to have ANY contact with him, not even financially because he would only skip out on his obligations and promises anyway. I just couldn't be bothered.
5:15pm
Dropping in with a hi, last 2 days have been rain days and wouldn’t you know Roger’s had a breakdown again, had no tv, no phone, no internet..i slept most of the day. Finally I kicked myself off the couch and cut grass before rain tomorrow.
Suzanne and two of her little grandchildren dropped in for an hour, she had a shopping bag full of knitting needles and crochet hooks in nice cases which i already had, she didn’t want to throw them away sooo they will go in my cupboard with rest of them. But in the bag was 4 skeins of Christmas cotton so here i am relaxing, making a dishcloth…have leftover spaghetti so that will be supper.
Internet keeps go8ng off/on so will type a note to you all in hopes it goes through
I am sitting on my back patio. 90 degrees but not bad. We have a cool down coming mid week with a system coming down from the North. Half the state will get rain but no us. Hopefully it will help put the fire out near Lake Tahoe and Reno.
The seeds I planted last Tuesday are showing their heads. Have not got the other ed planted yet because garden helper did not get the soil refreshed.
I am going over to my daughter's home to night for dinner. Starting to be an every Sunday thing.
There are quite a few families in the greenbelt parks behind my home. Cooler weather is a blessing for the little ones. And the greenbelt has lots of trees so they places with shade. Winds are suppose to pick up when the cooler temperatures show up. My brother lives in Reno and is hoping the rain they are suppose to get will help put the fire out. Smoke in his area is really bad.
I have another week with no appointments. I so love weeks like that. Getting
Betty, my weather report on Ontario for the next week shows you getting rain the majority of the week. I so love weeks like that, but that will never happen here in the desert. . Getting areas ready for spring flower planting. Roses will get another flush of blooms early November.
Guess I had better take Emma for her second walk before we have to leave for dinner. My granddaughter and her two little ones, 2.5 and 6 months old eat at 5. A little after that, it is melt down time so we try not to be late. They go to bed at 7. Her husband is doing rotations to determine where he will do his residency.
Hugs to all of you.
I read and caught up, Glad to hear you found the meds you need Betty.
Karen, so happy you have all but the final "done" behind you!! And a home lined up, SWEET!
Susan, you are certainly staying busy.
Dianne, I hope you & the dogs are having a great time with improved weather.
Linda, I hope Todd starts to regain a little of that weight back. I know that is scary.
Sharon, I envy your ability to visit with family near by. I do have my sister. I just got back from 2 days seeing Kevin (son) and fiancée, helping with the wedding plans and we have a date finally, November 21st! I have been drafted for the centerpieces. I will be making up prototypes & sending pics for approval.
I got the call for the reference check for Adam & Andrea's application for the rental house. Andrea told Adam she liked the house well enough that she could see them staying there for a few years until they didn't need as big of house & would be less expensive to buy. The currently have 16, 15, 14, & 6 YOs at home, the 18 YO left for college. I am praying they get it or some house SOON. I am so excited to think I can get all they junk (and them) out of here.
Praying the application gets approved and you can soon get your home back.
