Well one stress gone. We have a future home. It is not yet on the market but promised to us if all goes well here. We are not holding them up as they are not quite ready yet either.
On this end our buyer has until midnight Saturday to tell us if they have any issues with their inspection. I don't know why they are waiting until down to the wire. Now it will depend if they want any concessions from us or work done.

Pat - if you have a Reverse button, and a Lift Needle button on your machine above the needle, then you have a 3rd button there as well. The same button is used for both start and stop.

Betty - I'm not a fan of Camilla either, but we never have a choice in these things.

I have the stop & start. I also have a slider bar to adjust the speed. If my pedal was not working, I COULD get by. I just would not want to! LOL

Andrea is too emotional & unmotivated to do anything but threaten & procrastinate. They would be happier somewhere else, but I don't see that happening.

Karen, that is awesome, now to get the final word about YOUR buyers!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Buyers had a list of questions and assured us they are fully intending to go through with purchase. Questions were easy to answer as they were the same we had when we bought here. We also volunteered to have the septic inspected and emptied if necessary. By Tuesday we should be able to make a formal offer on place we want.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sooooo cool! Happy to hear things are moving along for you.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

hahahaha Pat - it's all good. It's just that I find I now Have to use the button, with no working foot pedal. As I said, learn something new every day!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am back.
Betty, I had sent payment for my renewal a month ago. Guess it never went through. I haven't been able to get in here for a few days. I sent messages to admin that I couldn't get into DG, They told me i had to pay for another year. I sent them copy of my payment from a month ago. And they renewed my account immediately

This message was edited Sep 9, 2022 6:50 PM

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes, THIS admin is NOT as good as prior management. I am sorry for the changes. What can say? I am OLD and do not like change?? LOL (yeah, 67 & what will I be like when I am really old??? Even grouchier? Heaven forbid!)

I sure do NOT learn things are quickly as I did in my prime. I am not as adventurous & some of that is lack of stamina. Fear that I won't be able to "make it" with the current asthma issues. Unknown circumstances have me concerned about how far the walk is etc. All that leads me to be more cautious in life.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Totally understand Pat, It's what drives us. My first concern is locating the toilets.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gorgeous day, just cut grass, should do trimming, only a few areas need done..the no rain sure dried everything out.

I’m with you Karen, before shopping starts it’s where is the washroom..at one time in Buffalo one of Joann’s would tell us to go to $$ store, we said we would go to the other 2 Joann’s..am sure $$ store didn’t appreciate it.

Glad you are back with us Lindakay..it wouldn’t hurt DG admin to send out notifications when fees are due vs just cut us off.

Pat, yesterday I was so sore as I am every Friday with doing myself in and wondering if maybe I should do like others..place my order and have them delivered

Mason who just started high school started back at sewing, he had started a fidget blanket for his grandfather came back this morning hoping to get it to his grandfather.

Same glorious weather here as Betty. But while it is in the 80's it feels a lot warmer. I have the AC on.

Went to market this morning. The vendors few as they are were talking about not turning up for the next few Sat. It closes Thanksgiving weekend which is not too far away here in Canada. It's sad to see their faces light up when they see me walking across the park. They all know I am there to buy. I try to spread my $$'s around.

Yesterday Zeke and I went up the lane to visit with Piper. Keiran's family were out of town for a funeral. Watching Piper and Zeke play and act around me made me realize how well behaved Zeke is considering he's only 5 months. Piper was wild but it could be because this is the first week in over 2 years someone wasn't home with her 24/7.

Great news Karen !!

LK how are you and Todd?

Pat you are a pup !! 67 is young.

Hope you are all enjoying the day.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you enjoyed the market and your walk.
Todd is still weak. He has gained 5 pounds, so that is good. Praying he continues to gain weight. Doc said his hemoglobin has improved. Doctors office changed Doctors. And they didn't say anything until we were checking out, that the new doctor was not in our insurance program, so she asked us to pay out of pocket for the deductible or sign a promissory note. I told her she should have told us before we saw him. I was not paying any deductible at that time. Told her to bill the insurance, what ever was left she can send us a bill, and I will send payments as I can. And that we would not be back to see him. She was still talking as we walked out the door. Now we need to find one that is covered under our insurance.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

That was stinking treatment from that office. I think you could make a complaint, totally unfair to not give notice.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm just a pup too then lol I'm 68.
Yes, it would be good if they Did send reminders. That's why I didn't remember to renew.
I didn't realize that they changed management.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, when I say "changed management" I meant the sale of DG & take over of the new owners etc several years ago now.

WHAT the MD office did is unethical. You scheduled with an insurance covered MD, and they switched without telling you in advance. I would see if you can figure out what it would have cost you if you had seen the MD you were scheduled with & ONLY pay that with a letter of complaint to the MD. That was NOT right.

Dianne, Zeke just sounds like such a jewel!!

I met up with friends & we got 53 receiving blankets 43 x 43 inch made today & I took the scraps home. I cut the scraps and stuffed 2 dog beds @ 40 x 25 inch & 1 dog bed @ 25 x 18. I still have 3 more beds "casings" cut and ready to sew,. but NOT tonight. Most of the flannel came out of a stash of one of the ladies that passed away more than 2 years ago. Blanche would be happy we got the flannel used up for her.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That's a lot of work Pat. They will make everyone happy.

Thoughts with all on this September 11th..

Sunshine here but suppose to cloud over by midday.

Dianne my sister in law Charlene and her daughter had tables at one of the larger outdoor farmers and craft market..some days she made $2. Was not worth it this year..many have left and not fulfilling their contract till Thanksgiving a month away.

Makes it difficult for the other selling for sure.

Omg Lindakay, not a wonder you were upset, should have all been explained prior to your visit..now will you to find another doctor, know here that is almost impossible.
Todd must have been frustrated, not being well, needing help and having to worry about payment. Is it something your insurance provider can fight.

Aren’t you lucky Karen to get scraps that can be used..are they for family dogs or vets? You are but a babe lol

Lordy, remember at Christmas i did kids workshops? Thought I’d do a fall one, well didn’t take long 20 had registered and now a few more want a second day, so Sunday Oct 2 I’ll do a class in the morning and it’s almost filled..

Nice breeze but so humid so i am off to close all the windows and out ac on

Made a list of to do’s and wonder how many I will get done

. Cut car wash sponges to make 5 kits
. Patina/clean/was a stained glass piece
. Try my luck a 1/2 dozen faux cookies lol

Bor8ng life i have, should be doing something exciting but what???

What will you all be doing?

Verona, ON

Betty I will be living my boring life as well today. I have no energy at all. I think a rather large sample of homemade "deer" hot dogs is playing havoc with my insides. I didn't want to try it but the poor guy had just a pathetic look on his face. He was also very disappointed I didn't buy any. Imodium and Gravol are my companions today. I enjoy a venison roast but I think the huge amount of spices he used got my stomach roiling.

LK I am appalled at the doctor's office you visited. We are so blessed aren't we Betty ? Although a lot of our younger doctors are headed to the US for higher incomes. Happy to read Todd has put on some weight.

Betty I have the AC on too. Tomorrow the humidity index is over 90% so I'll just keep the AC on.

Pat when will you hear news about the place you want to buy ? I am so happy for you that your home sold fairly quickly.

Yesterday I was reading the Real Estate section of the Toronto Star and prices of homes have really dropped. A house originally listed at over 1 million is now just $800,000. The owners listed at the tail end of the panic buying. When we sold out house in Pickering we had multiple offers after less than a week on the market. We signed the offer best for us and were estatic. The next week the sales boon collapsed. We were very lucky.

Deb any dog shows ? The Rotti guru here in my area is doing extremely well with her boy. I don't agree with some of her methods - each to their own if you are an experienced dog owner. I met with her once and realized all she wanted me to do was sign up for her classes. I'm not saying classes aren't important especially for first time dog owners or you are an owner to a breed new to you. My dog Dylan - this was over 50 years ago got kicked out of his class. Well actually I think it was Warren who got us kicked out. lol Warren gave this loud belly laugh when they were walking a hopping and chirping frog about the size of a volleyball in front of the circle of puppies as a distraction. The instructor stopped dead and with a booming voice asked DH what was so funny. Yep we were no longer welcome or I could come with Dylan and leave Warren at home. Didn't happen as DH should have been the one working with Dylan.

Susan you are doing great . I am so glad to read your cheerful posts and everything you are doing. Your upcoming trip made me realize I need to renew my passport.

Pat I admire your ability to adapt to new situations and the disharmony they are creating in your life.

Betty is that a photo of Mason and his grandfather ?

I think a nap is in order. I'm listening to Darius Rucker and he has such a soothing voice. On PBS last night they had Magic Moments - Music of the 50's featured. Sweet listening to my ears.

Had to laugh Dianne, that is my Jeff (52) and my grandson Caleb, he is 24..Jeff is 5’10” while Caleb is 6’4”. I can’t wait to see Caleb now he put on 30lbs. Braedon is still north and comes home Thanksgiving.

Didn’t put acc on but will shortly do so, should put humidifier on as well, seems damp!

My favourite was seiners but they don’t agree with me either.

I as well should look at date of my passport, do think I still have 2 years on it.
Fun remembering such memories of our loved ones isn’t it. Roger also had quite the laugh.

Love going through and listening to 50‘s and 60’s music

Very odd Dianne, i couldn’t fall asleep last night, cricket sounds were louder than t.v.
Thought it was spring only you heard them..wonder what else could sound a like crickets? Know the frog sound, they are in my pond.

Another 1 1/2 hrs of baking my Halloween cookies at 200°f then leave them in while oven cools.thought I might paint them tonight but sounds like an early morning ‘to do’

Have the glass piece set up but just looking at it but instead of 5 bags of sponge for apples i got 8 and almost have my 9th done so almost where I wanted to be

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I had a registered Beagle when I was a teenager. When we signed up for an obedience class, the instructor looked down her nose and me & my dog and said "HOUNDS don't belong in an obedience class". Heidi did GREAT. She was such a quick learner & eager to play when appropriate. She & my cat were best buds.

In the back row from right to left, my sister's SIL Donzella, myself in turquoise shirt (glasses at 1/2mass LOL, then my sister Marie. I am headed to Marie's now. Hopefully we will get her challenge quilt on the longarm today while I finish getting my borders on. I was motivated to get those dog beds made so did not work on my quilt last night like I "should have". (11th commandment, thou shall not shouldest upon thyself.)

Love the photo Pat, thanks for putting a photo to the name..you can tell you and Marie are sisters..cutties?? Looks as though you all got mega work done.

1/2 hr to go and I can shut oven off..thank goodness i had it at 200°f for 3 1/2 hrs..can you imagine in this heat if i had it at 400°f

Yep Pat, if I had to find two sisters in that photo, I could have.
I had to hem a new pair of slacks for Walt today. Borrowed thread, needle and clips. Got them all measured up. Really made my hands angry at me. I could have dug out one of my sergers but then there is the cold factor downstairs. Did get them done though I had a lot of hand cramping. I had thought about taking them to cleaners to have it done but stubborn me hates to pay for something I can do my self. I did have to brave the cold to press them. Borrowed Jess' iron and dug out my small board. They are done and look just fine, although I did them in an unconventual way. I'll fix after we get moved and my sewing room set up.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am WAY too cheap to pay someone to hem pants! LOL... it costs a silly fortune! I don't do much in the way of hand work, like you it makes my hands angry.

By anybody's standards, Grayson is CUTE!!!

We got 53 blankets done, not too shabby. Most were about 43 x 43. In some cases we didn't have enough fabric and had to settle for 36 x 43.

I spent the afternoon at Marie's did a little more on the quilt. I should have either stayed longer & got the top DONE, or brought it home. I will go back tomorrow & leave my pickup truck there. The neighbors are converting from septic to sewer and the city will be digging up the road RIGHT in front of our house. I want to get at least THAT extra vehicle out of here in case we need to jockey cars to get them out during construction.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning….temps are cool this morning mg and rain shortly..i could have slept in but there is a big field in front of my house that will have homes at one point and yard maintenance cut it every Monday. Guess they were trying to beat the rain, we’re working away with commercial lawnmowers, welders etc so might as well get up.

Karen, how frustrating, can see how it would bother you to have them done! i am learning more and more that i just have to have someone do things for me that normally I could do hurts

Hopefully Pat they don’t have to do a mega dig up to fix the problem.
I think you did so much yesterday that by trying to stay at Marie’s would have done you in.

Talking to Sharon, mom turns 91 Saturday, asked if she wanted to go have lunch with mom Friday, don’t think she does..

So I am finishing the cookies and patina 9n the glass piece..have a student coming after school that should keep me out of mischief for today… usually I’m watching the time early evening to go to bed but with kids coming after school every day I’ll have to get use to new schedule

Ziggy laying beside me not sure what I am doing

Adam & Andrea have an appointment to see a rental tomorrow!!! I am SAYING PRAYERS THEY GET IT!!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Dianne - thank you for your cheery comment! I'm going nuts doing everything I do but I still love it lol
Today we had coffeetime, then I went an hour west to a small "touristy-type" of town for a FREE rolltop desk. Of course I had to pay $70 to someone to pick it up for me...... oh well. Yesterday I got rid of my old loveseat to a young couple who'd just moved to the next town to the east & had NO furniture. They moved from Neepawa MB! I have relatives there lol
The rolltop desk needs a bit of loving care, but it's beautiful nonetheless & I'm so pleased with it.
I was early to meet up with the fellow who picked up the desk (he insisted I go too........ in my own car?!?!), so I went to the small campground right next to town, and chatted with the manager. He told me about a group of campers who sounded like would be right up my alley. They've been getting together to camp since 2019, and he gave me the phone # of the organizer. I called when I got home, and guess what?!?! I'm joining their group. A couple tent, but most RV. Now, with me, there are 14 in the group. Now my friends don't need to worry about me tenting alone lol I've had a few who got panicky about the thought of me going alone.
Each camping trip I pay $10 extra, plus the regular nightly fee. That $10 goes towards the yearly dinner they put on. Because I was recommended by the campground manager, they're waiving the $25 startup fee.
NOW, I'm Really looking forward to camping next year :) Lord knows I have everything I need to tent, PLUS more lol All those downsizing & no longer camping are pleased to either give or sell cheaply stuff I need. I just need a mallet to pound in the stakes for the tent, and I'm set :)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

Cooler morning, bet a lot are looking forward to that..
Girls come this morning and a young lady at 4pm.

Oh Pat, I’ll be praying big time that they get accommodations..what made them change their mind on the last plan you both came up with..what joy if would be to wake in the morning not a sound, clean your home and when you go off to bed it’s the same as the way you left it. I so hope, so hope…

Susan looks as though things are going your way, the roll up desk sounds like a great deal..ahhh the days when one would sit at a desk and write letters..wish people still did, nothing like getting a note in the mail. Hurrah for the camping, campers are usually always inviting and at their best. Look at a reuse it store, they may have a mallet. I was looking for one a few months ago, forgot I had a second tool box, in it was 2

Dianne, did you get the torrential rains we had yesterday? Ground was so hard from lack of rain that rain couldn’t penetrate as easily and there 2as no worry of flooding.

I had a welcome news yesterday, got a call from Templeton glass asking if they could come and install my front window..i asked what day and they said in about 1/2 hour.. And think it was about April I ordered and paid for most of it….i can actually see outside..looks as though there is no glass in it as it’s so clear..another thing repaired..my 2 goals this year was replace window and new roof, both done.

Darlene called, she had given me all her stained glass equipment then John gave me another pro grinder, Darlene said now that the move has been done he found a bag with stained glass things..wouldn’t tell me what..said she would drop it off thursday if they went to Orillia..hooe it’s solder lol

Working on buffing the stained glass piece..takes a lot as the glass is so textured, be glad when this piece is completed and i can move onto on other.

I finished the 7 cookies last night and made another batch, got 10 top/bottom, guess I cut more carefully. Know 2 nieces who would love some so if not today tomorrow they will be done.

While the girls are sewing this morning think I will take a machine and try to do some on the Christmas panel I started a month ago

Hope you all have a great day

Best I make a coffee and head downstairs

Drats that is about 5 times Ziggy wants in..in out, in out…grrr

If there wasn’t as many critters around I’d leave the back door open for him

Busy day for you betty.
Susan, so glad you found the camping group. Sounds like fun.
Betty, what are the cookies made of?

Victoria Harbour, ON

2 cups flour, 1 salt, 1/2 /cup water

I work it with a spoon get mixed, then i have 1/4 of water set up and add gradually while mixing with my hands..sometimes it varies, I have 1/8th left, other times i use the whole 1/4 cup

Even though you think you don’t have enough water before add8ng the extra, keep working it, if he holds together you are ok

Whatever you cut make them 1/4” thick

Bake for 3 1/2 hrs in a preheated oven at 200°f turning them over about every 45 minutes
When 3 1/2 hrs is done turn oven off and leave them in the oven until oven cools

You can either have just top which will give you approx 14 of what you are making or 7 cookies, top and bottom, bottom no face cuts..

June finished her Xmas panel, she is not a sewer but enjoyed this piece.

Think8mg once Georgia leaves at 7 I will run into the $$ store to get all the pie plates i need toI can spray them and add cinnamon, don’t want kids spray painting with black spray will take a look at what time they close

Gee whiz the new window is so clear that I did my 2 3 Screen doors
Tomorrow is the 3 mirror closet doors..can’t just craft right

Victoria Harbour, ON

We are all getting ready ahead of the Christmas rush lol

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Well if June did her own quilting & finishing of that panel, she did an AWESOME for A "non-sewer".

Don't CLEAN windows just fill you with joy? I can't wait to have clean windows and sliding door again!!

Susan, I am so happy to hear you have found another group of friends. Camping with others is more fun (unless they are the wrong people!)

My mind is FILLED with hope & thouights of what I will do to get this house cleaned up and get me moved over the other side. I am afraid to hope or plan too much. NOTHING says they will even be considered by the landlord. I do wish Adam would get a haircut and trim his beard before he goes to meet the landlord while seeing the property.

Adam told me that they had to put their cat to sleep yesterday. They took her to the vet & she had stage 3 kidney failure.

We got Marie's quilt off the longarm yesterday, my top is finished and ready to go on the longarm. Headed back to her house today & I hope to get everything but the embellishments complete on my quilt. My quilt is a large wall hanging & since I never expect it to be washed, it will have several added details.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - sounds like you need a Pet Door lol Are they lockable? Hope there's solder in the mix of "goodies" you're getting :)
I still write Christmas cards & other occassion cards......... does that count? :)
The fellow who heads up this camping group said he used to belong to another camping group, and it wasn't a good fit for him, so he created this one. I looked at their website & watched videos - they look like a fun group.

Victoria Harbour, ON

It counts.. had a friend that wrote up a yearly newsletter of what went on in her family and sent it out i a card, always enjoyed that

Glad you did some research on the group

Well Susan, if he had the grinder he would have had a soldering iron..maybe it’s that.
I just bought new one a few weeks before Darlene gave me 2, doesn’t hurt to have.

Georgia finished her table topper and painted her 4 cookies..the back green we used was faded so we put some leaves on it ..am sure her mom will be thrilled

Beautiful quilts Betty. They both look happy with them.
I used to make salt dough ornaments years ago, when my boys were small.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I bet your quilter is a happy camper, well done!

I got my challenge quilt off the longarm & the embellishments picked out. I used pale blue thread, and the one side of the barn roof is not stitched straight, I'll fix it with the domestic machine.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, will be a sunshine day,

Yes the Georgia was thrilled, i so enjoy chatting with them. Am sure her mom will cherish it.

Pat, look forward to seeing your project, will you be doing thread painting for your embellishment.

Slept in a bit this morning, Lordy it was 7:45am and still dark.
Picked my to do chore from the jay, i was just thinking ‘should wash the floors” and what did I pick, yes, wash floors.

Only thing i want to commit to today is washing side of dining room window, sure does need it.

I saw this morning Marie is back from her holiday, saw her off walking, she walks a good 10 miles a day, even has a flashlight that attaches to her neck so she can walk in the dark.

I see my 2 giant garbage bins are laying open on the ground, so many bears and creature out there, who knows what is looming..Ziggy wanted out quite early, in a harsh voice told him to go back to sleep. Lol

Must do more buffing on the stained glass piece, weekend i will pick up the match and have to do same to it.

Don’t know any little girls but want to order this hat pattern, would be fun to do..i i can’t get patter I’m sure i can fake it 😜

Hope those who aren’t posting are well
Has the heat broken yet?

Not sure if I mentioned, Templeton glass guys that put my new window in was saying the sun is so strong these days that they’ve had to replace more than they ever had, seals are all brittle and rot.

No thread painting. Adding buttons for eyes and "sign" on the barn, that kind of thing.
I love the hat!! That is too cute!
