Good for you Susan…many have the knee bar, i have sewn with it but seem to go back to the petal..will read up on your new find
Best/Worse/what did I learn Today? Come sit awhile and share you day..newcomers always welcome!
Morning, overcast with a feel of rain but i think the actual rain has passed us buy.
Betty, I am so sorry the pain is this bad. I do hope the MD finds something that will help with the pain. I am sorry that marijuana is not legal there. Some of the salves that have THC in them are much more effective than the CBD alone. I have friends and family that is the only way they can control the pain.
Not sure I understand Susan. The foot, or the pedal? My machine has a button you can push & it will sew, you have to hit stop for it to end. To free motion on my machine, you drop the feed dogs.
I spent from 7AM to 11;30 PM working on the wall hanging/quilt. I still have more blocks to do. Marie said she has her blocks off the wall & stacked and ready to sew. We opted for simple 5 inch blocks in a set distribution for hers. Why didn't I just do the same? I decided it was the worth the trouble to make something I really would use & not just fulfil the obligation.
Anxious to see your blocks, I am with you, if you are going to do a piece you might as well have something you can use.
Dull and cold out so I am playing at the coffee table, right now the apple pie I made is drying, suppose to dry darker, we will see.
Emma, the cats and I are in my bedroom and Emma and I are sitting on the over stuffed chair in my bedroom. 106 and that is hot. Not a cloud in the sky.
Betty, Death Valley is suppose to hit 125 today and be the hottest place in the world. People are flocking over there to get their photo taken in front of the digital thermometer. Hope they have good tires and belts. Maybe you could pick up some cream when you hit stateside. Do you know anyone that I could mail some to that you would be able to pick up.
I tried gardening last night around dusk. I was only going to spend about 15 minutes but, of course, ended up spending an hour. I had to quit because the sweat was getting in my eyes. Only about another week of this heat wave, then we will start to cool down. My sister lives in Ventura and they are 99 today and the majority of individuals there do not have air-conditioning.
Pat, you are an angel because I would march into the kitchen and set it on fire.
I too hope you can get the meds you need Betty. Staying in pain is not fun.
Only 83 in Texas today. Cloudy and very humid. Betty, watch the YouTube videos for strip tubes. You can use a square ruler. That is what I used.
Buyers inspection will be on Tues. Let's hope all goes well and we can move forward.
Really pretty Linda. I HAVE to try that one of these days! LOL
Karen, sending continued prayers for a smooth sale & finding the perfect home in the north when this one is gone.
After living in Tri-Cities most of my life, I can NOT imagine me living ANYWHERE without AC. I imagine it's like people who have flooding issues and not understanding why "we" don't have sump-pumps. We don't need them Tri-Cities.
Lovely quilt & I love the colours, Linda Kay.
Pat - I mean the foot pedal you put on the floor. I didn't realize that you could sew using the buttons on the sewing machine. Heck, I remember with the old Singer sewing machine that had a foot treadle that you put both feet on lol When did they come out with push button sewing?
This morning i went to Midland to pick up a few things, thank goodness wasn’t a lot I needed because most stores were closed, all I needed was at Home Depot so was there and back within the hour.
Sharon’s daughter Nikki love country/fall/Halloween..she wanted a fake pie so I told her she’d have to come make one. She got here at noon and we had such a nice afternoon..while she worked on her pie i did another..talk about cinnamon all over then we took regular beige candle and gave them a primitive look, funnel was already cut and sprayed so with what i had on hand she took a set of candles home.
I am hoping this cinnamon will vacuum up 🥹
You

Evening, Lordy I started to write something at least twice and someone came in, rather than save or copy here I am starting from scratch.
Up til about 2pm it was so overcast and cool then the sun came out with a high of 72°f.
Lindakay love the quilt, the tan makes it seem so calming... and was wondering how come i don’t do turquoise much with turquoise so went back and looked at quilt photo’s and yep did 3..I had all the time in the world to go look to see if I have that ruler but forgot..is it printed on the the ruler as being a “tube”? Who is that one for? Are you the kind of quilter that buys just enough fabric or do you have enough for another lol
Karen but you are nervous about tomorrow.on the other offers had they had a house inspection? So when the inspection is done and to their approval when will the closing be?
106°f, wow not a wonder you all have your favourite spot to relax in..I remember how Rita and I were worried about Death Valley but as we entered we got comfy and relaxed watching how it was so unique, even Devil’s golf course. Keep thinking it was 118°f the day we were there..while we walked in the desert i had put my glasses on my head, when i put them back on rims burnt my skin. Ventura, thinking that town is where there were so many homeless along the beach.had never seem a group
of homeless..know there are some in Barrie and Toronto but never where I’ve been..am sure if I looked hard enough

Susan, i am tired tonight so please excuse my not being able to understand the foot peta/dials
I like your centerpiece & candles, very pretty Betty. What is the fake pie made of?
Personally, I do so much stop & start it would scare me to think I would use buttons rather than the foot pedal!!! I need my hands on my work!! I hope you find your soon Susan.
I love the pie. Looks like it would have steam coming out somewhere. Good job on teaching her how to make it.
Yes, we are having weird weather. Today's high is 109 down in the valley. Up here where I live, nearer to the mountains, the high will be 106. Emma and I are again in my bedroom. I sat outside for about 45 minutes but left Emma in the house. I did a load of wash, cooked some Italian sausage in pasta sauce. Still need to cook the pasta. That will feed Brian, Vern's son, for a couple of meals.
My goal was to clean out my kitchen drawers today but on my shopping tour the other day, I could not find drawer paper. So I will order some on line. I stopped into Macy's store because they cover a few lines of clothing that I like in tops. I was shocked. Not your old Macy's. Macy's used to be a lovely store, now just junk but at high prices and no clerks. In the cosmetic area, the clerks were talking to each other. No customers. Bed Bath and Beyond was where I always get my shelf and drawer liners. 50% of what they used to carry is no longer there.
Linda, good luck on your inspection. Shouldn't be too many surprises because you just recently had an inspection.
Linda, I love the quilt but I have no idea what your method is but I will Google it.
Last night around 5pm a big storm hit the Arizona/Nevada border on the Colorado River. Big wind storm, hair and then tons of rain. Power is still down. Laughlin in Nevada and Bullhead City in Arizona. I am glad we missed that storm. Could not even see across the street because of the dust.
That is so sad about the two men in Canada going around a killing people at random by stabbing them.
Pat you are in my prayers that this housing nightmare will end soon.
I am going to go wash my car. I went into the car wash the other day when I was out shopping. They said thy no longer vacuum or clean the inside of your car. And, of course, I answered, Why do I need you, I can wash the outside of my own car.
Very pretty quilt, Linda. I do love the color turquoise.
I'm really not too worried about the inspection. After we had that awful first one, hubby went around fixing the minor things. You just never know what one inspector is going to decide is important. Sometimes buyers don't have inspectors at all. Person who bought our up north house had a contractor friend look it over. She was paying cash and didn't have to satisfy a mortgage company.
If all goes well we are scheduled to close on Oct. 9th. That was the only issue we had any back and forth with the buyers. They wanted end of October and we wanted earlier. this was a good compromise.
My finger stuttered and I hit send twice. This site is so very slow sometimes. Definitely not as well run as the new one. They would have been smarter to keep Dave here..

Betty. I always buy more fabric than what I need. This quilt was made from left over fabric from the carpenters wheel from a week or so ago.
Good luck on your inspection Karen. Praying it goes smoothly.
What are the pies made from?
Afternoon, sunny out but windy..
Happy Birthday Barb..know you look gorgeous in those Angel wings..
Karen that is what i thought, when house was checked a few times or you being given suggestions as to why it didn’t sell and what to look at repairing..know you are on pin and needles right now..we here are praying for you..Lordy, that is just a month away.
Sharon heard on the news that a big part of USA in your region Igor be without hydro this week, can’t keep up to consumption being used at a higher amount because of extreme heat. That was quite a tragedy with Bath ad Beyond executive.
We have same chores Sharon, need car wash and vacuuming and my drawers..is it paper lining you use..I use that drawer/shelf lining that is rubber with hole in it..
Haven’t heard about wether or not they’ve arrested those boys.
They had a memorial in Barrie for the 6 kids who died last weekend, was done at the accident site. Car was burnt, had to hit the newly worked on shoulder of the road.
Lindakay, I’ve a tote full of earth tones, come winter I will work on using them up.
Susan, when did you say you were going to visit Susan?
Pat and June left, Marie came in and i was eating lunch, she wanted to know if i was going to get into the pond to fix the water feature arm..don’t feel like it but told her i would at 1:30..big sigh, rather have a nap
Oops Cathy and her mom just called, they are dropping in for coffee which means Marie and I won’t get into the pond till around 2:30. No nap
Our car wash won't do interior of the cars either. covid is the excuse. We are still having 300 to 400 new cases every week.
Betty - I'm going to GA to see Susan on Oct 9th to 18th.
As for the sewing machine foot pedal. I unplugged it from my sewing machine, and broke the connection, so I didn't have a pedal on the floor to use.
I went onto YouTube to find out what to do, expecting that I would have to buy a new sewing machine because I couldn't sew without the foot pedal.
When I went online, the video said "if you want to sew with a foot pedal......"?!?! I didn't realize you could use a sewing machine without a foot pedal, so I watched carefully, and the video said to use the button on the body of the machine. Once you have your material in, and the presser foot down, just press the button to start, and press it again to stop. Now I know how to do free motion sewing, too!! Learn something new everyday, eh?
Thinking the inspection went well. We were gone for most of it but when we returned. They did chat with us a while. I told them I had paperwork showing the basement is guaranteed to be forever dry. Also we told them they can have the 12 foot Christmas tree. We told them if any questions to give us a call or stop by. We'd be happy to talk with them any time. She was excited to learn about the chickens....which are just starting to lay so good timing there. Hoping by tomorrow we will all have good news.

Good for you Susan, i have a button on my machine as well but don’t know I’d id use it very often wouldn’t it be much more difficult.
Karen that seems very positive , once they say it’s ago will you go north looking for a home?
June/Pat we’re here this morning, no sooner left that Cathy and her mom dropped in. I had told Marie we would do the pond, she was outside waiting..i got it fixed and it’s now refilling. Told Marie seeing my odour was that of a swamp lady I’d go in the basement, put everything in the washer including my shoes..was in laundry room and boy did i move was Georgia for her sewing lesson… she just left.
Think i can do without supper, maybe hot chocolate and toast.
I’m done in for the night
Karen sending prayers and good thoughts your way!
I tried to sew today and just kept making stupid mistakes. I gave it up, read a book & napped.
Kevin says they have set a tentative date of Nov 19 for the wedding. He will let me know after he has confirmed a venue etc. I have started dress shopping online in earnest. Bride and daughter bought their dress last year. I am sure Gloria's will fit and I think they bought her daughter's a size too big so hopefully it will fit. If not, maybe I can make alterations when I visit later this month.
Karen, that is great news. So pleased for you. Market has slowed down, so you will have an easier time when you are on the other side and making an offer.
Betty, the big wind storm blew across the Colorado River right by Laughlin, NV and Bullhead City, AZ. Knocked down power line and it is my understanding that the Arizona side still has many individuals without power. Crazy California is going to limit auto purchases to electric. I think by 2034. Right after they passed that law, they asked their citizen to curtail using power from 4 pm to 9pm. That gave the comedians a lot of jokes.
I saw an update on the two brothers that were wanted in Canada. They found one dead from knife wounds and have narrowed a search into a certain area. I have not had the tv on so I did not get an update.
Susan, Georgia is a lovely state. Lots of humidity and big flying bugs. That is all I remember.
Pat, I can understand how you just didn't feel like doing something. Some days I just want to stay in bed but I have a little doggy that must have her morning walk. The morning of just about everyday is like ground hog day for me. For the first 2.5 hours, I dothe same thing every day.
I got my hair cut today, ran over to Trader Jo's and purchased a bunch of small ice cream cones. Great-granddaughter loves them along with her mommy. They were on sale. Then I ran by the house, dropped things off, let Emma out to go potty and then got back in my car and went to my nail appointment. After nail appointment wet to HD and picked up some LED light for the lights under the kitchen cabinets.
Weatherman said Friday we are dropping down 20 degrees. I am so ready.
Time for me to start thinking about going to bed. Hugs to you all and talk at you tomorrow.
Morning, oops just missed morning…
Been playing with clear glass, would so love getting this piece done so i know Greg and Mel’s gifts are ready. Hoping i can include cutting grass before my student comes at 5p.m.
Like you Sharon, it’s groundhog day everything, not much happens of interest. Have heard though the seniors complex about 5 drives from me has been having police, fire trucks etc visiting at least once a week, heck what can endorse get into to have the police all the t8me? Whatever it is they have more excitement than I.
Nothing worse Karen than to want to sew but just can’t put the package together, best to stop otherwise you would be picking out all the stitches. How wonderful to look forward to a wedding usually everyone is so happy and look8ng into the future.
We are always on kind of a saving on electricity plan..there are on hours and off hours and therefore it changed rate you pay. Best a cut down or have none.
Karen when do you get your report Re house inspection.
Lindakay how is Todd today?
Think i will cook up some spaghetti, fold the basket of washing and just maybe I can have 1/2 nap..me who never naps. Grrrr
My DIL Carrie just texted me, they FINALLY have the repairman & parts, and they are FIXING the AC that has been out for over 2 months!! They have been "limping by" with 2 portable units they had bought when they lived in a rental years ago. It has NOT been adequate but better than nothing. Their homeowner's warrantee program has REALLY let them down this time. It is not acceptable to NOT replace something vital like AC (or heat) when the cost to replace was very little more than the cost of repairs & wait for parts etc. for over 2 months.
Laundry day. Hoping to hear at some point about the inspection.
Afternoon everyone.
Betty, Todd is hanging in there. We are going to see his oncologist tomorrow. Hoping he has answers for his weight loss.
The has been one heck of a hot summer to do without a/c
Thank goodness it’s in its way to being fixed,
I bet it’s long day waiting for notification Karen, ‘happy dance’ when you get the good news!
Emma and I are sitting in my bedroom We had our morning walk. It was only 93. Our high today is suppose to be 103. Going to be lower tomorrow and Friday we will be in the 90s. So ready for that and so is my garden and animals. At least we can go for our walk and not wait until when we can stand the heat.
Linda, I do hope you do get some answers from the oncologist. How is your immigration traffic doing. Several days of those poor people drowning is so sad. I cannot believe they are still coming in this heat.
I am going to go outside and water some plant pots. We are on watering 3 times a week and with this hea, a pot can die in one day. I am actually a little late checking. I will check in later.
That is terrible about the AC. My sister's son had the same problem with his warranty plan but it was only 4 weeks. From what I have seen with these warranty policies, they are willing to collect your payment but do not want to fix or replace anything.
Immigration status is not slowing down. Our section of Texas gets 2 to 4 thousand a day. Not slowing down at all. Drugs are pouring in, as are lots of diseases thry bring with them. Last week there were 4 adults that overdosed on what they thought was cocaine, but it was laced with fentanyl. So sad.
Linda, what is happening is a shame. I am so sorry you & your family are in the middle of the human flood of illegal immigration.
Morning, it’s a gorgeous fall day..
Only thing I had to do this morning we make my bed.
Losing a day, thought for sure it was Friday I can likely finish that stained glass piece..hurrah
Do you see many near your h9me Lindakay? Know you should not have to move but have you ever considered moving north a bit? How is Todd doing?
What is everyone else doing?
Now you are getting cooler weather and Dianne is as well bet it’s relaxing walking with with furries.
Half the bear populations are posting photo’s walking or in trees (bears that is)
Think8mg I will go and do 1/2 hour of sewing..Pat will be away for 2-3 weeks and challenged me to finish it so I have to start somewhere.
Limiting your sewing has to be very hard Betty.
I STILL have the challenge quilt to finish. I couldn't take it any longer and spent sometime working on my "everything room". I had boxes of unfinished projects or fabric to cut for doll dresses, under my desk and table & it was driving me nuts. Their presence meant the room looked nicer but I could not stretch my legs out completely under the desk or table. I had my grandson move them to the tip top of my shelving units. I had already cleared that stuff off and moved it to storage or donated. I can get the stuff down without help, I can't stack it up there without help.
Some of that up there is what Marie wanted help getting listed and sold. It's on my "to do list".
Yesterday, I finally went to the bank and closed out Ben's accounts. I have been putting this off, I just couldn't deal with it. It was only a few hundred dollars and every month there was a $7 service fee. With no will etc, it has all been so frustrating and painful, I just couldn't face it. It was about as awful as I expected it to be but finally the bank branch manager took pity on me & gave me the money.
Sitting here since early morning watching CNN Re illness of Queen Elizabeth..i marched in a brownie group parade just behind her carriage in Penetang..she had been Queen less than a decade then..prayers for she and her family.
Can understand how overwhelming it must be for you Pat, hugs.
Bad enough we are grieving but there is so much to do. Saddens me that you decided giving them an ultimatum and date for them to move and you are now having to squeeze yourself into a tiny area when it’s your own home.know you think you are helping but are you? Saying this as i would say to any family/friend ..sorry if you think I should not..
Sad to hear Queen Elizabeth has passed..
God save the King!
I just heard that she'd passed. I gather that she did not want her son Charles to take over and that her grandson was being groomed to. Well, maybe he didn't want it, and Charles IS the next in line, legally. Pretty old to be taking on the role, but we shall see. I'm a monarchist, and thus will follow this intently.
Betty - the button on your machine - press once to start it sewing, press again to stop it. Nothing could be easier. No hunting around on the floor to find the pedal lol It's always sliding away from me!!
Susan has sage abdicated the thrown she could have named her grandson but not abdicating it goes to King Charles 3
Been watching since early morning.
I would have to get better at pulling pins out faster to use that feature. I find that I really vary my speed so much, depending on where in the project I am, I don't know that I would find the "go" button beneficial. ESPECAILLY concerned I could not find the STOP button in time!! LOL
Betty, I am not offended, and I do understand your concern. Now that they are being charged rent, I am hoping this will light a fire under her. I do know that I am gradually taking out the items that I want/need that she will have to replace for herself. My pots & pans, many other items she has had access to.... soon, all moved! I smile when I see she needs DW soap. She has never needed to purchase that, as I have always stocked it. I admit with Adam gone so much; it has made it a little harder. Adam & I get along & he has served as a buffer between Andrea & I.
I have not been really following the Queen's heath and now, her death. It seems there has been a lot of discord in the family over the last few years. I wonder if this will make it worse.
Like most families there is discord..her death will either pull them together or they will all drift apart.
Charles is not my favourite but Camilla. Yuck.
Maybe Andrea will see the agreement not to her liking and put a fire under her to find a place..i do hope so.
Ziggy is laying next to me purring, wants petting but i am not sure when he is tired of me petting him i will get gouged.
How many more days Karen do you have to wait for news of the inspection.
Spoke to mom, am losing patience with her..
Off the check Netflix to see if they have “in pursuit”
