Susan, whether thru divorce or death, you are right, there is grieving. I am sure that your well-meaning friends that are trying to "hook you up" just don't get it. Or they think the "cure" is another man. It is your decision if & when you ever want to open that door again.
Linda, I am sorry that things have not yet leveled out and Todd continues to have significant problems. You are both held in my prayers daily.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? Garden time, let’s sit and enjoy our gardens, decks and great company..all welcome!!
LK Betty is right I forgot to mention this - keep a daily journal/log. I was able to pinpoint when DH received his meds, was turned and all the other things involved with an ill person. Holding you and Todd close to my heart.
I've talked myself into a migraine so have taken my meds and will lay down.
Enjoy your day.
Thank you everyone for the support and prayers.
I have been taking notes on my smartphone.
Surgeon and doctors come in the morning, anywhere from 7 to 12. So far, I have seen him 3 times. I leave the room for 5 minutes and they sneak in and they are gone. But the Surgeon himself called me on the phone, and filled me in as best he could. Treatment is a slow process, and seems to be daily challenges, but we are learning to work it through, one day at a time.
Isn’t that always the way Lindakay..frustrating!
Is Todd feeling a little better today?
Still no results?
Good to hear Re notes..didn’t have this technology when Roger was living.
Since just yesterday he passed and yet here I speak of very little technology, Lordy we are at such a fast speak, you no sooner have one new thing to learn and 10 others are out on the market.
As always you are in my prayers..
We found out this afternoon he had stage 2 cancer in his tumor. They are pretty sure they got it all, but he will have to go through 3 months of chemo in about a month or so. Don't know if it will be pills or regular chemo. We will find out when that time comes.
As hard as it was to hear that Lindakay now you know the monster and fight it.
Still praying and asking our Lord for a miracle
Hugs
Thank you very much.
Linda, I am sure the stage 2 news was concerning. Do they feel the constipation was a result of the tumor? If so, the constipation did serve the purpose of alerting you to the medical problem. Prayers continue to in your behalf.
Marie & I worked again on the longarm with manuals & computer tutorial printouts. I did work in manual mode & could determine that there are issues with the machine. Hopefully next Saturday we will answer, and RESOLVED would be good, lol.
Since longarm was not an option, I spent the afternoon trying to master embroidery on bathroom towels. I had bought 3 nice used towels in like new condition to practice on. I figured granddaughter would need more towels for when she leaves for college this fall. In total I got 4 new & 3 used ones done. I practiced with different fonds & location with a variety of stabilizers.
Ben's former caregiver Andrew & his wife Paulette stopped by in the morning & I sent them home with daisy starts. He had sent me pictures of some of the flowers I had sent home with them last year and the garden benches they had made with my cement molds.
Yes, the tumor was large, causing a complete blockage. Things are moving now with the colostomy bag. I have learned to drain and change it. Pretty easy to do.
Hope you can get your machine working soon
Happy birthday Deb. Enjoy your special day.
Thank you Linda Kay.
Praying Todd continues to improve and the chemo isn't too hard on him when it's time to start that.
Is Todd's colostomy the kind that is meant to be revised again in a year or so, to return to normal functioning? I have known a few people with the colostomy bags, but I wasn't aware until recently that sometimes a temporary one was a possibility. Modern medicine is truly a miracle!
Happy Birthday Deb, I hope it is a enjoyable day filled with good things!
Happy Birthday Day Deb !!! Sending birthday wishes and hugs. Are you a birthday cake or pie person ?
LK keeping you and Todd close to my heart.
Talked myself into a migraine yesterday and it eventually passed only to rear its ugly head about an hour ago. I'm off to lay down.
♫♪ Happy Birthday, Deb! ♪♫ Hope your day is filled with wonderful possibilities, and love.
LK - I agree with Pat, now you have a name for the monster, you can deal with it. Knowledge is power!
Aw Deb, here I thought we were going to see an updated portrait of YOU!!! LOL, lovely granddaughter.

I don't know what type of chemo yet. That will be discussed with the chemo doctors when we get there.
He will have his colostomy bag for 6 to 8 months, if all is well, the will do surgery to put everything back together.
Yes, I will be staying with Todd. I drive back home once a week to get my grandson groceries, and pay the bills, then right back to San Antonio.
Going to be a long hard ride for you and Todd, Linda. Sure wishing you as easy a trip as possible. Always in my thoughts, hugs to you both.

Continuing prayers for Linda & Todd, I pray that things will continue to move forward with positive results.
I used the jigsaw & cut up the molded pond liner so I could get it out to the garbage. Someday I may install another pond but more than likely just a fountain or small waterfall feature. I shoveled fill dirt until I filled in the hole & I have been debating what to do about the area. It is right next to "their patio." and wanted it to look nice for their BBQ.
The longarm dealer is coming next Saturday & I hope we can resolve whatever the machine issues are then. Fortunately, (or unfortunately?) she is coming on the same day as the "graduates BBQ". Note, I did not say "family". DIL posted that on Facebook about the BBQ and stated that friends were welcome since none of her family was coming. Since she is NOT comfortable with me, I choose to stay away. I have had enough. I have told Kiki I will not be there (I did not say why) and that I will leave her gift.
I will stay with him as long as it takes.
They are going to place an ngt tube down his nose to drain liquid from his stomach as well as putting a tube through his belly into his stomach to help drain more bile. If this helps, and allow him to eat and keep it down, he can go home in a few days.
Let's hope & pray that this is a successful intervention that allows him to come home soon.
Poor Todd, prayers coming his way and will till he is well enough to come home with you..in a lot of ways, I think those who watch their loved ones so sick and feel as helpless and are beside them for morale support are going through emotional turmoil that is as bad. Hugs my friend
Remember Roger telling me when he got better he was taking me on a holiday anywhere i wanted to go..
Pat, Sounds like you are getting over energetic just to keep peace in the houseful..do not let her run you out of your own home..here is hoping Saturday is a good day for you.
No, the getting rid of the pond liner was on my "to do list" for a while. It had a leak, the electricity in that area has not been working for a couple of years. I just felt getting it done NOW would be an added bonus. BESIDES, I thought son was taking a load to the dump & it turns out he "thinks" the mattresses in the trailer survived the roof leak. It has had a leak for at LEAST the last year and they finally fixed it about 2 months ago. I will be STUNNED if they don't find mold. NOT my problem.
Rainy damp day in my neighbourhood
Starting my morning off with prayer for Todd and Lindakay. May there be improvement today.
There are men in the area who will do dump runs here Pat, maybe you could check on someone in your area to make a run, i imagine it’s not cheap but better than having scrap around, i sure don’t like scrap laying about but am sure some would call my garden art scrap. Let’s hope no mood, aunt Muriel had to be out of her apartment for a month.tenant above her had left tub running..so dangerous living with mold.
been up since 6am, got upstairs housework done, bath, meds and laying on chesterfield for the day.on Saturday i starting loosing my voice, yesterday a tad worse, took neocitron and did some mega sweating last night, so much phlegm.
Cancelled June and Pat who were coming today so they can make alternate plans for the day.. now that i have had a bath and a coffee I’m laying down for the day and that is where i shall spend the day..nothing like a sinus headache, it’s one step below a migraine.
Pat was telling me a friend of ours who painted with us, we referred to her as the medicine woman, making meds out of flowers died yesterday. She lives in same complex maps Pat, anyway, she grabbed her knitting, went and sat outside under a tree, someone stopped by to chat and found she had died.
Rain warning in effect here. It has poured all night but that hasn't stopped 1 snapper from digging her holes to lay her eggs. I hope she soon finds a spot that suits her - it's like the 3 bears. I was starting to be disappointed that the turtles were going to ignore me this year. I get such a kick out of watching them.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers to LK and Todd.
While dying is something no one has high on their priority list what a peaceful wonderful way for that lady to pass. My Welsh grandfather over 90 and healthy had just worked in his veggie garden (which was 1 acre he cared for by hand) came in the house went into the bathroom and dropped dead. What a blessing. After having watched my husband and my sweet dad suffer for months I only hope I will be blessed like Granddad Jones.
Betty you shared your headache with me - well mine is still ongoing just amped up. Laying down sounds good. I hope you listen to yourself and stay laying down for awhile.
Take care.
Good morning everyone.
Things are about the same here. Improvement is slow going, but it is improving. The tubes are draining so much nasty looking stuff from his stomach. Dr. Said nothing but ice chips and water today, because of the ng tube. Hopefully tomorrow they will try soft foods, and if that goes well, regular food. They keep pumping potassium in him, and his numbers go up and down. Doctor explained, anytime anyone has stomach issues and is going to the bathroom a lot, it affects our potassium levels. So hopefully once his bowels finally start moving regularly his potassium will level out.
Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers.
Betty, sorry to hear about your friend passing away. Sending our condolences and prayers.
Dianne, praying your migraine goes away soon.
Lindakay, slow moving but it’s moving in the right direction.
Must be frustrating for him, from experience men don’t make good patients, he has come a long way since admitted.
Remember to keep care of yourself..are you staying nearby the hospital?
Drats have to check in later..
Ziggy says hi
Can’t type when he is on my tummy
Linda, I have added you and Todd to my nightly prayers. Men do not make good patients and after finding out Vern had a condition I knew nothing about, I told him he was never going to see the doctor alone again. I did give him the option to speak with him privately after the initial part. He never asked fo that. I actually took Vern home from rehab when I learned he was there 24/7 and they were actually doing about 20 minutes of therapy a day. I packed him up, took his belonging to the car, took him to the car, took back the wheelchair and we went home. It took them 5 hours to determine he was gone. I never regretted that decision.
Betty, I hope you are not getting ill. My daughter just got over Covid. Sick for 12 days. Really knocked her on her butt. We are all working on getting the house ready for GD and her husband. I am over doing it on the checkbook. Oh well, can't take it with you.
I watched Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix. I really enjoyed it.
Linda, the most important thing Todd can do is move around. As soon as he is able, do it and continue it. Muscles disappear very rapidly. I actually purchased Vern larger shirts so he could get around easier in them. Especially getting dressed and undressed.
Hugs to all of you.
Nice seeing you post Sharon
Can just imagine how you have transformed the place and yes you can’t take it with you, am sure they will be appreciative.
Imagine your gardens are spectacular..I’m thinking of your tomato plants, my mouth is just watering thinking of an almost ripe tomato sandwich.
I really enjoyed Lincoln Lawyer, wish they continued the series.
No, not Covid although I don’t have a testing kit, am sure it’s bad cold, sure hurts on right side when i cough..looked at myself in 5he mirror when i went to get my packet of neocitron, Lordy i look like I’m a hundred.
Ziggy is purring at my pillow, wants some loving, once he moves i might get some ice cream, might numb my throat.
Betty, what a peaceful passing for your friend. A dear friend of mine had always said it was a saints death. She bless her heart so deserved one and it was granted to her.
Linda, sure hope Todd is improving. Keeping you both in my thoughts.
I'm meeting in Pigeon Forge with a couple online friends from Dave's new site. Brings back the memory of our meet in Frankenmuth. Gosh it seems so long ago.
Morning, finally a sunshine day, even Ziggy wanted out..it’s an in/out kind of day for him.
Starting my morning with prayers fir Todd and for lindakay, am sure this is tak8ng a toll on her health as well..
Karen, how exciting fir you to meet some on-line friends, you deserve an out8mg, am sure like our Frankenmuth trip it will involve a fabric store..that was a grand day we spent together. I am hoping the Ohio girls can come this year, even after all their health issues they are hoping to do so this fall.
Lydia was blessed for sure, remember my friend Cathy who went off the grid for about 5 years to come back for visits only to disappear again at Christmas well her dad was an avid gardener, he died while working in his gardens…would be nice if i took a stroll in my gardens looking at the pretties, sit and listen to the birds and watch the butterflies fluttering and just fall in a forever sleep..one can only wish.
Haven’t walked the gardens as i am slow moving today, barely slept, ribs are so sore from coughing up phlegm. I called doctors office and have a call booked with after hours clinic at 6:45pm..our pharmacy will be closed by then so if i want the prescription hopefully he will give me i will have to drive to Midland.
Just opened all my windows to get fresh air, washed my bedding and am hoping i can put the sheets outside to dry. I miss my outdoor clothesline when we put back deck on, looked at back bedroom deck, think there is an area i could have have one..do any of you still use one??
I have been reading the books that Lincoln Lawyer was based on. The author Michael Connelly has several book series & the characters overlap in the different series.
Sharon, I understand your feeling about the Rehab. I had basically the same experience with Ben in one of the Rehabs. Ben said "if you don't get me out of here, I will NOT have ANY muscles left! 20 minutes a day is not cutting it!" They had had a patient fall while he was there & were terrified Ben would fall and were totally restricting his walking to ONLY when the therapist was with him, which was ridiculous.
Beautiful day here as well but 100 % chance of rain tomorrow. The rain yesterday beat my gorgeous Siberian Irises to the ground. They were just starting to bud with a couple of full blooms. It doesn't look great but I took some butcher's cord and propped them up to the huge but not bad looking generator shed. I think I will cut some and bring them in.
The gypsy moth caterpillars are everywhere. I thought I had done a good job of destroying their nests but obviously not. The trees are so lush looking now I would hate to see the leaves stripped bare.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers to LK and Todd.
Pat I chuckled at your story about getting Ben out of rehab. I thought about doing the same thing with Warren when he was in the hospital. It would have taken quite awhile for them to realize he was gone. I am not pointing the finger at the RNs and PCWs as they were spread so thin and trying their best but a few more staff would have eased the situation greatly. Budget cuts pffft !!
Hope you are continuing to mend Betty. Listen to your body NOT your mind lol. I'm guilty of the same thing. Loved the heron photo in the garden you posted on FB.
Dianne, best you cut some of your lilies and enjoy as there is more rain coming our way in fact it’s clouding over quite a lot..you might get a week of enjoyment out of them as likely the rain will finish them.
Are the skitters still bad in your region? Have to say worked outside for a few days and only saw a few but I’m sure over the next week of rain they will be ready to draw blood.
I have seen a few moth caterpillars and I as well thought i had done a job to get rid of them but i hear people in the community talking about them being as bad as last year and you are right, the trees are so lush hate to lose the foliage again.. how many years are we suppose to have them, is it 7 yr cycle before they stop for awhile!
Omg, just put spaghetti sauce in freezer bags for freezer, looked around and there was a vial of 4oclock seeds I did not plant so went outside and set them in planters of soil..that is what i get for multi tasking, i had just taken out a cold/flu pill, at the price of them i hope they grow as i planted it with the seeds
Do like having the blue heron outside vs under the bed😜
Time to get the sheets and have lunch before it supper
Heron looks amazing outside Betty. Far better than under your bed. lol What's the use of having something as lovely as that piece and not able to enjoy it.
Did not think i should put it out in the element but even if I get a few years out of it I’m ok with it
Clouds must be blowing your way
Better to get a "few years" out of it & ENJOY it, rather than "forever" under the bed LOL!
