Enjoy your time with the kids.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? Garden time, let’s sit and enjoy our gardens, decks and great company..all welcome!!
How are things this evening Lindakay? Looked at the time, not yet time for you to leave..hope you can rest well tonight.
Did enjoy..already in bed, was going to water decided i will water the gardens in the morning
Have a/c set at 72°
LindaKay - a really tough day for you. It would be tough enough for your older dog to pass, but then to have to listen to the one you love berate you. Even though you know it's a medical reason, it must be hard. I will continue to pray for you both.
Had my 3rd monthly meeting with the seniors. 4 Board (only 3 were at the meeting), and 4 members........ yikes! We did have 2 new members join today. That's always a "plus". One was at the meeting, and one couldn't attend.
Morning, gorgeous out there 78 with a feel like 88..great day to play outside..not a whole lot to do outside but somehow i manage to put in the day. There is a weather watch on, wouldn’t you know but maybe it will pass us by and we will only get the wind.
Having company late morning/early afternoon, looking forward to their visit.
Prayers for Lindakay and Todd..here is hoping both had a good night and Todd was able to get some solids into him.
Susan, how many members should your club have? Well the action with the group of late brought in 2 members so that is great and who knows those 2 might bring in friends if they find it interesting. Bonus points for you for all you do.
Karen, are you feeling better? Where you are planning to move is their a shortage of homes…here there is quite a shortage and market gets bidding wars.
Deb, when is your next dog show?
Sharon, eating any of those tomatoes yet? My tomato plants have no bloom but i think by Canadian I’ll have yellow beans
Pat, you are quiet, bet you are busy on the longarm lol
Well, best I finish my coffee and head outside..Home Depot has a sale on diipladenia plants..they are usually $6.99 and this weekend the are $4.99, they are best dollar value plants, go bloom from spring to fall..I’ve several pink and red, wouldn’t mind a few white.
Hope you all have a great day
Linda, it is rough when our loved ones are NOT dealing with reality. Nothing we can do to offset their misconceptions/psychosis. Hang in there, you are both in my prayers. Losing a pet is not easy under any circumstance.
Sounds like our Canadian friends are struggling with storms & worries of storms.
Susan, you got 2 new members! Way to go!
Dianne, how are you and Chaos doing? Will you be getting another dog in the near future, or holding off?
Karen, prayers that your move up North will be a wonderful new beginning, close to family. I am sure there are things you will miss about your current circumstances.
I will reread it but, Sharon am I understanding that your family members' stay the condo will short because it's too small?
Along with the longarm lessons Saturday our trainer managed to give us all Covid. She tested positive on Monday, Marie & I started symptoms Tuesday. today is the first day I have felt human. All I have done is cough, hack up stuff, walk to the bathroom & back to the recliner. No sewing, just reading and sleeping. I had not even been making it to the computer.
Phil (Marie's husband) has now tested positive and so has Carol, Phil's Sisinlaw, Carol had stopped in Saturday into the longarm room with us briefly. No doubt she will give it to her husband.
I am hoping that Adam & family will not get this. I am staying in my room/ sewing area behind closed door, not venturing out to the kitchen or laundry. Adam occasionally has to wander thru to access the garage.....
Such high winds, trees are bending in half..sure hope i don’t lose power..
Thinking of you and Todd Lindakay..sending prayers
Omg Pat, why on earth would she come to teach you and Marie knowing she had or did have Covid recently..sounds like it is hitting you hard..hop8ng no one else 8n the household gets it.. for you not to sew, read etc. you have to have it pretty bad,Marie’s hubby isn’t that well, that is all he needed.
Had a visit with Brenda and Blaine..was so funny, he says he follows my FB posts and could give the tour of my yard..lol. Brought me a beautiful stained glass wind chime, all leaves, I’m thinking of trying to make a few as Xmas g8fts..i know, I know, there she goes talking about Christmas again..🥱
I did not hang the wind home because likely it would end up in another country.
Mason and Evan come tomorrow and don’t have much of their project (apron) to finish, seeing I found 3 tablespoons already foiled I might have them make butterflies.
Hit by the same storm as Betty. We both got off lucky. Still have hydro. There are trees down on a couple of main roads close to me. I haven't been out the lane so I have no idea if it is blocked. I've been out and picked up some branches and will go out with the chainsaw tomorrow for the rest.
Belleville really got hit Betty. That's about 40 min west of me. I thought when the wind blew through so strongly last night the bad weather was all over. Nope !!
Pat I have been mulling that question over for a few days. Part of me YES right now but my more rational side is holding me back. In part it is my age - I'll be 73 Christmas week plus I have no family. Where would the dog go ? Chaos has a home he can go to and on the rare time I scold him he sneaks up the lane to where he is always welcome. I might look at a senior Rotti as the rescue groups are always looking for homes for them.
LK how are you and Todd doing today ?
Pat I hope you don't come down with Covid. How irresponsible of that woman to stop when she knew she had been exposed. Did she at least wear a mask ?
Paul McCartney is 80 tomorrow ..... still rocking the stage. Last night in NJ Bruce Springsteen joined him for a set. I would have loved to have been there in person.
Deb were you hit with these storms passing through your state ?
LK sending positive thoughts, prayers and hugs to you and Todd. Hopefully Todd had a better day today.
Susan was there an feedback on Bob's court visit or did I miss that post ? Sometimes I forget to scroll up when I log on only later to find out there were some new posts that don't show up on my feed.
Karen how are you feeling today ? Any action on your house ?
Going to post before I lose this.
Good evening everyone.
So happy to say we are home. Doctors came in this morning, said all lab work levels are slowly improving. So he signed the release papers. We left the hospital at noon, got home at 4.
I need to keep shoving pills in Todd, but that is doable.
Thanks for all your support and prayers.
I am excited to hear you are home Linda & Todd, good deal! Being home is such a relief.
I have this vision of Chaos, sneaking off t0 sulk after being scolded. Too funny! Having a backup plan for our pets is always a concern as we age. A senior Rottie might be just the answer to companion for Chaos, not another annoying pup!
When Ginny came to teach us on Saturday, she did NOT think she was sick. It was just one of those things. She did not knowlingly expose us. She came down sick Monday, tested positive, She had her store call & tell us. Marie and I went to a graduation party Sunday afternoon. Could we have been in a contagious stage already by then?? We did not have any symptoms. I don't know. We were exposed Saturday. We sat out in the garage where the overflow from the house was and stayed for an hour. AGAIN, this is before we had symptoms, but who knows??
We had two showings today back to back. Was sweltering hot but just as we got back home a huge storm hit. Air ended up actually chilly.
Really tired and chilly. good night.
I showed one of my boys, Luca, last Friday at my club's show. He was reserve winners dog, basically runner up. He did ok, considering he hasn't been shown much, and he's just over a year old. I managed to step wrong when running, and a friend of mine had to show him in the second show. We were supposed to show last Weds, but, that was one of the days with record heat, and, the show was outdoors, with no shade, so we didn't go, plus, my hip/hamstring/not sure what I messed up at the Friday show, still hurt a bit. He's entered on Sunday, also, and the weather is nice, but, hip still hurts, so we'll probably stay home.
We did get hit by storms early in the week. Had the tornado sirens going off for almost 40 minutes, but, I never heard of any real damage in the area. Lots of branches down, but, that's about it.
So glad to hear that Todd was released, LindaKay. Praying he continues to improve.
It's so nice to be back home, and sleep in your own bed. Best nights sleep I have had in the past month.
Deb, your dog is beautiful.
Karen, I hope the house sells quickly and you get a great price for it.
Linda, a real night's sleep in your own bed is priceless! So glad to hear you are both home.
Deb, your boy is so beautiful! I can not imagine trying to compete in super hot weather & no shade
Evening, not sure where the day went but it went.
Great news that you are home, can just imagine the feeling climbing in your own bed how wonderful it was. How did Todd do today, did he manage to keep his food down and how are you managing as nurse?q
Congrats Luca.. Deb do you get point for Reserve Champion? Hamstring is very painful, you won’t be showing the dogs for awhile, takes so long to heal. I sure don’t blame you for not showing in the heat.
Karen I sure hope one of the couples looking at your home makes an offer. Worse thing about it being listed is having to leave while it being shown..did the kids also have to leave?
I’m not sure Pat at which state a person is when contagious. like you say, likely you come in contact with covid before you are are sick with it.. she must have felt so bad..are you feeling better today?
Must call and check up on my brother Bernie, he has been quite ill. I’m terrible, have little compassion for someone who is told kidneys are bad and could be cancer and lungs are just as bad and he says, I’m going to florida and will look after it when i get back in six months..he told me that not much would change in six months..imagine.
Know it’s early but i am heading to bed, it’s graveyard day tomorrow, 3 different graveyards.. i bought 2 doz of roses, in the morning I will make little bouquets and Sharon and i will visit everyone
Feeling a little better today, long ways from feeling good.
I am NOT a great housekeeper, so the worst part is trying to keep the house "show ready" at a moment's notice.
In the past few months we've had 4 new members join. The last 2 were 1. because they knew me, and the 2nd one was not only because she knows & likes me but because she didn't like the previous president. The 1st 2 who joined a couple of months ago are new to the town and wanted to get to know people.
Linda - SO nice to know that the meds are "do-able" and Todd's home in his his own wee bed. That's so nice!
Dianne - last Monday Bob went to court & now has a new lawyer. Because it's been so much "back & forth", the court set a new court date of June 30th (this Monday) and Victim Services & I are hoping that's when the court will set a new Trial date. When/if there is a new trial date, I'll have to attend, of course. Actually looking forward to it as this will be another step towards ending this run-around that Bob's been putting me through.
I'm re-working the bottom of the banner I've made for Silver Willow, so it will have a channel to put a bar through so it will hold down & straight. I'm also making some tabs for the top and have a curtain rod to go through them. My friend Dianne has another curtain rod for the bottom channel. When it's all nicely hung, I promise I will take a picture. Right now I have a picture, but the willow trees I printed onto the fabric are too faint to really see.
Pat, the hardest part here was getting everyone to cooperate in getting ready to show. None of them have been involved in a house sale before so they have no idea. I finally got it hammered in. "The better it looks the better the offer we should get". The kids are not here except for Payton and he's mostly not here. The other two are with their dad on his annual "look I'm a great dad trip". Which I'm sure is totally due to his new wife. He never did it before.....Do I dislike him? Yes ma'am I sure do. Total waste of oxygen.
Walt power washed the front deck yesterday. Looks brand new again.
It's a lot of work getting a house ready to be shown. Please don't over do it.
Nursing duties have started. I gave him his first shower in a month. Because he had wires and tubes in the hospital, all he got was sponge bath. Then he came out to the living room and sat for awhile. He is even asking for solid foods. He is eating with no problem. He is asking for his pills.
I do believe he is on the mend.
We are supposed to have the home nurse, physical and occupational therapist coming to the house. I hope they call Monday and get schedules going soon.
That sounds like Todd is really doing great, LindaKay!! Prayers continue!!
Happy Father’s Day to all the dad’s.
Don’t know about you Dianne, still very windy and cold but come this week we will be in a heatwave.
Great news Lindakay, no doubt he will improve being at home..guess as he just got out of the hospital it will take a few days to get things organized with health aides. Hope you are looking after yourself.
Karen, that is quite a lot of work should you sell, will the family in Michigan be able to come help?
Pat, think you will be out for the count for weeks to come..have the given you or suggested what you can take that will help..they must have guidelines for people when they get at a certain point they should go to hospital. Did Marie’s hubby get it?
I was up at 5:30am as Ziggy wanted out, wouldn’t wait any longer so i let him out, had a coffee, did a load of washing, made a dozen floral arrangements using pine, some of garden flowers and the 2 dozen of roses. Sharon got here about 9 and off we went and did the 3 graveyards, even put several flowers on old grave sites that likely had nobody alive to care.
Had lunch, bath and covered myself up with a comforter, still not quite over what I had, sweat rolling off my forhead. Won’t hurt to rest right.
So exciting to hear Todd is responding so favorably to being HOME. Now to keep that positive forward motion going!
Susan, that is an impressive response with new members. You should be proud of your efforts. I hope the court stuff ends soon.
Within 2 days of Marie testing positive, her husband did too. The Sister-in-law, that had stopped in briefly on that Saturday, also contracted it! I tell ya, this stuff is CONTAGIOUS with all caps and BOLD!!! Fortunately, although super contagious, it is not as life-threatening as the first Covid. Also, those that have had their vaccines etc are least apt to get as severe of case of it. It is what it is and I just try to sleep & read but get up enough to avoid pneumonia.
I am using a nasal spray to reduce the swelling, oral meds to reduce the congestion & Nyquil at night to help me sleep. Other than good nutrition, lots of fluids and monitoring oxygen level, not a lot of suggestions for home treatment. Tonight, AFTER everyone else has gone to bed, I will put on a mask & will do a load of clothes.
