Soooo scary!! So sick and hospital not really safe to go there!

Prayers for Linda and those so sick, no doubt frightened as well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Frightened she is, with her hubby having onset of dementia she is so worried

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Keeping them in our prayers.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, cloudy day high of 50 with low of 42..chill in the air.

Will go to Barrie this afternoon, best i get sewing and finish some started projects before starting new ones

Karen is away enjoying her family, what are you all up to?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning. Getting ready to go to the quilt shop, to get more quilts, quilted. I have about 8 lined up.
Guess everyone is needing them for Christmas.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Would love a job like that..will be more coming i am sure..
Gabbing to my mom

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Linda, I bet it does get intense!

I hope to do some cleaning my sewing room & get two quilt tops ready to go to the longarm. I am thinking I will hire one done, then decide if I want to do the other one myself or hire it. I have very mixed feelings about it. The expense of doing it or the satisfaction of saying I DID it myself, and so many more factors to consider! It's been nearly 2 years since I even touched a long arm machine & will need a refresher to feel confident.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Cecil has had all of his tests and is back home. Still not eating He has small ulcers in his stomach and they have done biopsies on inflamed spots on his small intestines. My sister is here visiting and we are mixing up nutrition minded smoothies for him. I have a very large syringe to feed him the smoothie. I have ground up some dry dog food and then added some yogurt, beef bone broth,

Prayers being said for Linda. I am not sure I know her but she needs many angels sent her way.

Our weather has been perfect for my sister's visit. It was 80 today and no clouds or wind. I have all of my rooted cuttings planted and the plumeria were moved to the garage Thursday. Today I took th flowers out of the two large pots on the entrance an exit by the guards area. Quite of few were tattered but still alive, so I repotted them to see if I could over winter them. Not good enough to be in public but might make great spring filler.

I will try to stop in tomorrow friends. Right now Cecil is a full time job .

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Poor Cecil! He has really put you thru the ringer he has been so sick and miserable.

I did get work done in sewing room and the quilt tops ready but longarm person did not answer my text, they are ready. Maybe I can deliver tomorrow.

Tonight was the truck or treat at my church. Estimated 200 kids, the weather was perfect very cool but no rain.

I worked on getting the box ready for customs to send to China. I HATE the paperwork. I wish it was something his father could do for him. I know it would NEVER get done, so I need to just suck it up and plow thru. I done a rough draft and sent it for proofing. I am not sure I have the most current address.

Although it's late, I will spend a couple of minutes on my oldest son's quilt top.

Isn't there something special about teaching a young person to sew?? First time I did that my nephew was about 12 and I had him sew maternity pants for his mother, Marie!

Victoria Harbour, ON

He was best student I ever taught, couldn’t even get him to take a break or sip of juice..the last strip he took he said “I better check it to make sure it’s straight” lol

He didn’t talk a whole lot but he said he hardly slept last night because he so wanted to learn how to sew today..

Only thing he could remember was the term “1/4”
He Re be red setting stitches and finger pressing and strip quilting though

ONLY piece i sewed was the opening shut..never saw anybody so proud.

When he came he had the smallest piece of paper, he had drawn something for his dog..i told him his homework this week was to make same design on an 8x10 sheet.

Went into town, was a zoo..everyone busy getting Halloween supplies

Came home and started to cut background pieces from the pages in the pattern.

Quit when all that was left was mini pieces, i will play with those tomorrow then this week i can trace and cut.. i am short a few batik’s, i will reach out to girls to see if they have the few pieces i need..

I’ve climbed into bed, shoulder and upper back said i had to..guess carrying 5 cases of 24 pop didn’t help lol

Oh my goodness!!! that is wonderful! I remember the joy & frustration of teaching a few youth. You get it ALL if you teach more than a few! I remember refusing to teach one week when the student had not done her "homework". I told her I was NOT letting her parents pay me to watch her sew what she had been told to do at home to prepare. She came prepared after that!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Evan did an awesome job. I know he is very proud.
I agree pat. So frustrating to teach a group of kids. Some catch on very quickly. Others need to be babysit every step of the way.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

For some kids, there is natural ability and keen interest. For others, maybe they didn't even want to be there? Some kids are just prone to race thru and not have a quality product. I think at least basic sewing is a life skill, like balancing a check book. Life is better when a person has SKILLS.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Beautiful evening fir trick/treaters..calling for rain but hoping won’t be after the last of the kids come.

Lots of homes decorated this year…seniors residents at seniors home up the street are ready..LOOK AT THIS ALBINO SQUIRREL..

Very few houses are decorated here. Trick or treating is from 5 to 8 here.

That white squirrel is very pretty. Is it in your trees?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yep, your squirrel is pretty cute!! I LOVE the adults all dressed up!!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We've talked about Tshirt quilts, I saw this recently and it caught my eye. It sounds like an interesting alternative to making them yourself. https://www.projectrepat.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_fiLBhDOARIsAF4khR3ygvCaRr4pYlY8LFK9jJsCI-O3ZZd1hC4F9Qb5zI51JzyVhln0yR4aAi12EALw_wcB VERY reasonably priced & good reviews, I was impressed.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wind is coming up..brrr from opening door..
Guess I’ve had 20 kids so far..one when i handed her candy and pop went on to tell me she wasn’t allowed pop, only juices. Did i not have some?? Note to self, get some juice boxes next year as well as pop lol

Squirrel is a few houses from me, I’ve never seen it before but neighbours said there were 2

Likely i will keep lights on til 8 but Lordy it’s way past my bedtime

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just climbed into bed..64 trick/treaters..

While I’ve been trick/treating I’ve been filling 2 totes of Halloween decorations..should have brought in at least 4 from back shed..oh well a good start of putting it all away.. tomorrow I’ll tape them with duct tape and get wheel barrel and put them in back shed..
Usually i bring in Christmas totes as i bring a Halloween one out but don’t think Christmas totes/trees will come out..not up to it!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

You know there was a Halloween cartoon on Facebook, each child telling the Homeowner what they couldn't have. Really? They are trick or treating, it seems "THANK YOU" should be the only response!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pat, that place is very reasonable for making t shirt quilts.
I agree, Pat. Take what you are graciously given and say thank you.
Betty, don't forget to label your totes.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

REALLY reasonable considering they provide the backing as well!! They probably do not use ANY batting, with the idea that the fleece provides all the body & weight that is needed. It is a bargain and a nice alternative when your friends ask us to make this simple Tshirt quilt for them! "No but I know a place that does it very reasonably! " LOL

There was something on Facebook that said "$100 and 20 hours" is what a quilt "cost" and I thought, ARE YOU NUTS??? I wish I could get a quilt done for $100 worth of supplies and only 20 hours!!! Geeezzz!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Got to agree with you..i know the hours i put 8n making , buying supplies, batting, backing and thread

Yep, did mark them, too, bottom and all sides..2 of the totes are clear plastic, maybe that is what i should be buying from now on..

In. In airtight bags hidden 8n closets i found all kinds of Christmas quilts..because i didn’t bring in Christmas totes, c(rust as bedding is not in but Lordy i have far too many Christmas quilts to display..

Wow zeros. If they can do them that cheap i will send them my order

We had between sleet and snow this afternoon..wind is just a howling.

Just put water on to boil for pasta, spaghetti night...won’t be a late lol
While wait8ng i am finish8ng putting Hyde on a neck warmer..finished the 3 long gnome pillows..just have to go to Walmart for cheap pillows so i can cut them open for stuffing.. 2 bath towels embroidered so feel I’ve accomplished a lot.

Today is the 1st, haven’t heard from Jamie, Mel’s brother who was going to start staying here for a bit, just as well, Rita got her notice, lady is moving back..Rita will stay with her brother for a bit, not sure how that will work out so Betty’s place would be the next step.

Today is deadline for $80 savings on snowmobile pass..ordered one for Greg..I think $280 is a bit much fir trail passes seeing snow conditions have changed so much the machine doesn’t get used a whole lot.. Greg’s new one won’t get here for a bit, he is keeping his other one just incase there is a full season of waiting for new one.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

The gnomes pillow, you don't just make a cover & slip it over the pillow you have? I thought it was a standard size and you could use it as just a cover so you didn't have as much to store. Or you sell some & need PILLOW in those?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Are the pillows the size of a body pillow?
You have been busy today.

Victoria Harbour, ON

The ones i use i use same pillow. Insert..just change with those i made..i have gnome, valentines, spring,St Patrick’s Day, Easter,Canada day, fall Halloween, have a summer birdhouse one I’ve not yet done yet.

Melanie has Christmas gnome pillow for the house so i will make her the insert for this trailer one.

Kyle’s needs insert

I believe the insert is 18x34, they don’t take long.

Morning…

Odd kind of morning, raining and sun is shining …

Slept til 7, omg woke up and remembered this is the 1st run of the new automated garbage pick up so rushed out, hadn’t miss it..young lady that did pick up for previous company parked at my drive 6:45, had her coffee and i was the first lot picked up, they told us it would take several week to adjust to new system.. I would love it if mine was later 8n the morning..

Dianne, how will you make out with the humongous bins and your long drive??

He's a bright eyed little cutie!!! I'll bet the has his grandpa wrapped around his finger!

Ordered my new hearing aids. OUCH, about 2x as much as I expected to pay but oh my are they wonderful. They are blue tooth enabled so ANYTHING that has blue tooth capabilities can be paired with it and go STRAIGHT to my hearing aids. The clarity and comfort compared to my former pair is amazing. I will have my new set a week from tomorrow.

I was gone ALL day so did not get the quilt mitered border done. I think I will take it out to Marie's tomorrow if I have difficulty again tonight. It looks like Stanley will not give up the cutting table willingly and I am too tired to wrestle with him.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning everybody,

Been missing updates from Dianne, Sharon, Deb,Susan and others..hope all is well in your world.

Left the house at 7 o’clock this morning did my purchases of five pillows, five more sets of towels, photo print paper and a few other things that she does come home with me. Lol

Advertised a workshop on a Sunday about two weeks away see if I get any response will do the snowman hats because I see I have lots of supplies left over. While shopping at Walmart and seeing all the pretty Christmas stuff not half as nice as what I have I’m getting the urge after saying nothing Christmas is coming in the house other than the quilts that were housed in the back closet and a few pieces I worry about in the back shed I just might go and get a few totes primarily because a lot of my supplies are in those towels so I am hoping that I mark the tops to know what exactly is in them, I’ve been doing good with it but there may be a total of two that have not been marked.

I bought this morning on you do the towel for lack of better words holder with snowman on it so I’m anxious to try that but right now I’m in town mode.

Wish I could find the sign that says Santa‘s workshop is in progress because all my Lord this room is a disaster area with projects from one place to another

Well if I go before I lose my energy…flu shot at 4:10

You've seen the sign that says "If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen"? Well I saw something posted a while back on Facebook, "If you can't stand the mess, stay out of the craft room... and the living room and maybe you should just not visit!!" gift making & crafts can certainly take over a home!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I’m making it sound worse than it is..after sewing for the day I always tidy otherwise i could work lo

Gnomes are done, 1 more cover in shed bins

That being said a few crafts ended upstairs on my coffee table

Pat I had a chuckle about the sign.

Betty your fellows are very good looking. I imagine your 'great' will get lots of neat things for Christmas.

Has anyone heard from Judy ?

Went to Foodland this morning and spent $125.00 and only bought 1 package of chicken breasts. The rest was paper products, some canned goods and fruit. I eat a lot of fruit so that really adds up. People with families to feed are really going to feel the pinch.

Betty do you have to pay out of pocket for your Rxs ? I also have extra insurance to cover what is left after the government deduction.

The house is very dusty. Kai has dug up 2 huge holes in their yard. There was just a light cover of pea gravel over the sand. I will check tomorrow to see if I can buy bags of gravel. I dust every day but by 5 pm everything I dusted is covered again.

Stay safe and well.
