Best/Worse/What did I learn today?? Chat with friends old and new..come pull up a chair and know you will be welcomed!!!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, that is a GREAT picture!!! I am sending prayers for quick healing for Sharon's daughter.

I really hope the vet nailed it for Cecil, poor little guy. Salad bar sounds delicious!! We had some nice buffet lunches at the OESD event. So much nicer than the box lunches we have had in the past.

Adam & 2 kids went hunting Saturday, managed to hit 2 deer with the Durango on the way home & disable the Durango. Andrea went and got them (about an hour away). I assume they will retrieve the car today or tomorrow, or tow to shop for repairs. Geeeezz... I honestly don't know how many deer that makes in the last 3 years! I was frankly afraid to loan her my truck. She has already bagged 1 deer with it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening, climbed into bed at 4:00pm, rained all day and now the sun comes out!

Pat glad you enjoyed yourself with Marie,, nothing like having a great salad buffet.. all our all you can eat buffets have closed their doors..sad, that being said the Mandarin Chinese restaurant is still open IF you can afford to eat there.

Went to town this morning and bought towel sets to monogram, good quality..2 of size towels, hand towels and face cloths.. will have to look for where i put my knock down monogram designs..should this week pick up 2 more so i can do for Xmas gifts…hate to say but it’s a coming and if i don’t start now it will be a no go.

Dianne, hope can can post a few words, starting to worry about you.

Sharon, the Vet’s opining seems to be positive that with meds all will be ok with Cecil, bet you are relieved.

Ziggy has been quiet all day, snoozing away, waiting for me to come to bed.

Betty, not relieved but more optimistic. He got me up twice before midnight and 6 times between 12 and 7am. At 7 he and I went to sleep and he slept through to 10am. He ate some dinner. Now if he can keep it down and not throw it up.

Pat, your house guests must have a welcoming radar on their vehicles for deer.

I am going to garden all week. It is that time of year in the SW. I started watching the Maid on Netflix and it is OK. Going to Brian's HOA meeting to get details on the fire and rebuilding on Tuesday evening.. My daughter is going with me and Brian.

Have a great Monday Morning and I will chat with you tomorrow afternoon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, light rain so inside sewing day.

Pat i meant to comment on the deer situation, thankfully no one was hurt. Perhaps you can buy one of the attachment that attach to a vehicle to warn deer, , great Christmas gift idea.

Sharon, let’s hope their are finally answers on condo and that your daughter will accompany you.you must be exhausted with lack of sleep, you need some dog naps with Cecil today.

Sun is finally trying to come out..made this a telephone morning, bills were so screwed up, hydro had an insert saying there was an error in billing, got that straightened out, $65.23 credit, not at the $358. Cr they had me at which i knew was wrong. Spent time with gas company, they told me i had a credit of $40.49.. present rate is $2.08 and new rate starting Nov.1st is $1.06..think that is incorrect so will call back again..they read meters every 6 months, i won’t get too excited as likely it will be a high one..house insurance up $50 a month..waited over an hour for Rogers..apparent i have a discount til end of November, would cost me more if i tried to change packages..booked appts for needles in my neck, ordered scrips, booked oil change, called tire place to get quote on snow tires, cheapest $876.00 with no hubs..said i should be able to get $350 for hatchback i traded in..called dealership, he will call whoever bought my hatchback to see if they might be interested (we will see if they make an attempt to do so) if not i will have Linda put them on kijijji..almost new.
Only call i didn’t get through to is municipal water and sewer, they are another company always screwed up in bills, all blame working from home/Covid

Tired out now, might be a nap time although i wanted to sew

You know, THOSE are the kinds of things that I have "nightmares" about. I never have monsters or other scary stuff, just ENDLESS aggravations! Flat tires, utility failures etc, real life stuff that just sucks the joy out of life! LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a long morning on the phone, trying to get things straightened out.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Had an aha moments about conversation with agent from gas company..
When i asked what i was paying now likely it was $1.06 and gone up to $2.08, would make more sense, almost double. Don’t you like getting monthly bills ??

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Who, Betty, that is a lot of talking on the phone. I had my garbage bill so screwed up I had credit of $400+. I thought I fixed it and now I have a $550 credit. I finally took it of my automatic pay They changed something because I never had this problem before. I have talked to individuals that have had the same problem.

We slept in to 11am because we were up abut every hour on the hour but poop is getting thicker with the psyllium. Appetite enhancer seems to be working a little. Still will not eat the dry dog food. We just had our afternoon walk. Cold weather moved in but will be gone tomorrow.

Pat, don't they have a cattle rail you can put on the front of your trucks to help with the deer damage.

I did very little today. Watered all of my house plants as needed and then let them drain. I do this in the vegetable sink so it is a slow process. But they seem to do well that way. My home was built to protect the windows from the direct sun to eliminate any heating of the windows. So that is great for the cooling bill but not for plants.

All is well. Take care all of you. God bless Canada. God bless America.

Hello everyone - I just had an AHA moment. Got a new Air Fryer & didn't know how to use it.
I went to YouTube and this is what I found........... so pleased with it! (got it free, through Air Miles) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duga1DXH75o

Good sunny morning !! I sure needed a coat on my morning walk. We have our first frost,

Felt terrible last few days. To give you an idea of how crappy I felt I haven't read anything since Thursday.

Susan it's good to see you posting.

That's a lot of deer to hit with your Durango Pat.

BBL.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes, you can put what is called a cattle guard on your vehicle. I don't know the particulars, Adam said the regulations are very strict etc. Personally, I know it would help if they did a little planning about where they are traveling at what time of day/night. Dusk and dawn and the most risky time, as the deer are more apt to be out and crossing the road then.

I don't know if any of those gadgets work that are a sonar kind of repellant or not, but at the rate they have had to replace grills, radiators & head lights, you'd think they would want to find out!!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thanks Dianne - good to be posting. Been crazy busy around here.
Between organizing our Senior's centre's Silent Auction, and knitting, and "looking forward" (hahahaha) to cataloguing about 2,000 vinyl records to sell them at a record store......... well, yeah, busy. I baked 5 fruit cake loaves, one's already spoken for & one's to go in the Silent Auction.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Those 2 HUGE undertakings Linda! God Bless you for your efforts.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, the most beautiful of fall days..yikes no frost here yet Dianne but i am sure it’s coming so if it doesn’t rain i,will get grass Sure hope you are feeling better Dianne, no fun for sure being under the weather.

Pat what they have here from what i understand attaches to hood and is like a whistle, makes enough sound to alert the door… the are so lucky there is no serious personal injury . Costly though..

Susan, just in your post you seem to have your mojo back..glad to hear you are back socializing and cooking..Lordy mega records to catalogue.

Sharon, any news on the condo meeting and on Cecil’s health?

Girls were here this morning..did 2 things which were a no no..lifted and put a snow tire and hub in trunk to see what Ed my tire guy thought i should ask for then stopped at Kentucky Fried chicken was craving it, couldn’t resist...came to bed at 2:30pm..deserve whatever i get.

Best i not fall asleep til i bring Ziggy in..
Will watch tutorial on the guitar piece I’m doing, get ideas on how to.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Ooooooooo.... I hope you have no ill effects from your 2 no nos. It's tough (or impossible!) to be 100% compliant ALL the time!!!

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Cecil had a good day and had a great dinner and really enjoyed it. Then 2 hour later, he threw it up. Still waiting to hear from the Internist Vet regarding his blood tests.

Betty, going to bed at 2;30pm is really telling us how bad you felt. So sorry you have to go through that.

I have some coleus rootings planted in soil and going to try and finish the task on Thursday and Friday. I am doing a bunch of errands tomorrow. About another week and the plumeria will be to be moved to the garage. That is the area I am working in so I just need to kick it in and get it done.

Dianne, I am sorry you have not been feeling well. Hoping you feel better soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, had to look at clock, thought maybe it was afternoon..just made morning hello ..

Glad Cecil is having better days, even though he doesn’t keep it all down some might get into his system.. i as well played with coleus, had 3/4 outside in different pots so combines them into 2 pots..on in on dining room cupboard, hope the window gives it enough sun, the other i didn’t bring in yet, sitting on back deck, have no clue where to put it..do you think they would die if there is not a lot of sunlight inside?

Yep. 2:30pm - 7:30 am..watched a lot of shows.

Promised myself it will be a putter day..i put more garden pieces away, plastic wrapped stained glass piece that hang on fence/shed, more patio set pillows..need to get the big frame hanging window wrapped but need help for that one as well as help taking the snow tire out of my trunk, those 2 i will WAIT.

While i have a little energy today i got 3 gnome pillow to sandwiched ready for sewing, need them done before the guitar pattern comes… the winter one should have been done last year but ended up in that ‘to do’ bin.

Worked my shoulder enough so think i will start a set of knockdown monogram towel sets, that i just sit and watch machine work lol

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, how much of the background are you painting on your gnome pillows? Just filling in trees or adding more texture/detail to ground as well?

Victoria Harbour, ON

A little blue and white to bottom ..
Think i did trees just over the 1/2..not quite 2/3 rods

Having other hard of my Kentucky fried chicken, Ziggy is anxiously waiting for some nibbles..just started eating people good, likes chicken so i will share

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

My son did chicken on the Traeger last night, it was SOOOOOooo good!! He really uses his BBQ smoker etc. He was has a turkey fryer and does injections. I am a very boring cook. He & Kevin are MUCH better cooks than me.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Greg is a great cook, takes after his father.. i really have to be in the mood for cooking, doesn’t happen often lol

Sitting on the couch watching taped NCIS Hawaii, twice I’ve started it then off to do something and have to rewind..

Hi
Thank you all for your prayers, good vibes and healthy support.
And a special thank you to Liz and Linda Kay for keep you all informed.
.today was my 2 week follow up. Looks good. Although my face is still numb, they say it could be weeks, months even a year before that goes away...yikes I hope not. But good news is I’m set to go for the next surgery. October 29, they are going after my legs. Whew then I can walk again, for that alone I am most excited. I am at the lake house. Monday is coved test day. Will go home for a few days then... starting Sunday no more meat, then on Wednesday all liquid diet. I’m going to have to ask Jacob for a smoothie recipe.

Ok, I’ll be back I just wanted to say thank you with all my heart, I am so lucky for you all. Tight Armwraps...and thank you for yours, smiling away.

Victoria Harbour, ON

God bless you dear friend..you are never far from my thoughts and prayers..often i will come across a good read or burning in my fire pit I think of you..how overwhelmed you must be! The not having feeling must be horrid..i did not realize you haven’t been walking…
Spending time at the lake is one of your most favourite things to do..

Keeping you on my prayer list and an sure the gals will do the same.. won’t be long before you will be playing tag with the little ones. Jacob will find all the right ingredients for you, that i am sure

Just know Lindakay and Liz will keep us posted and in the meantime if you have a few moments please drop in..

God bless

Melanie just called me, her brother is looking for a room to rent for a few months while his place is being worked on..i know Jamie (in his late 50’s) and am sure we could make his staying here work, at least i think i could give it a try. Might meet with him in next few days if he hasn’t found a place.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, having a short term guest would likely be fun for you! I hope if that is what is best for both of you that it works out.

Bless Marie, she had a follow up call with Adam today about his efforts to enroll in school and she will be continuing to follow up with him. He does not know I am aware of the conversation (It was on speaker phone & I was present with Marie). She will call him tonight to make sure he has his "to do list" and is working thru it. I will give it until about Friday and then I will have a chat with him about "school progress" or start thinking about where they are moving, since that was the stipulation when they moved in here..

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Judy dear, you are in our hearts and we all are wishing you a very successful healing.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Early morning on a rainy day, suppose to be all day so like yesterday i will play, sure have enough to keep me.entertained.

.
Sly ladies bu Pat t if that’s what it takes to put Adam on getting him either at school or working kudos to you… not doing so is not helping him.

Yes Pat it just might be a blessing during winter months and if he is here December/January maybe i could go to Florida for 3-4 weeks..hmmmm. lol

Best not start dreaming of such when i haven’t even talked to him.

Prayers said for Judy

What are you all doing today?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty,a roommate might be good for you. He can help you around the house, doing heavy lifting for you.
Judy, glad to see you pop in.
I will be keeping you in our prayers.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Adam is working but not up to capacity, not even a full 40 hours and there is NO reason why he can't. He is very intelligent and wasting his potential working menial jobs
Andrea is eligible for unemployment and is getting it. That MAKES no sense to me why my government is paying unemployment to people when there are companies crying for workers! The system is WRONG. If you can work, and you are NOT, why should unemployment be paid?? But I guess that is the opinion from a person who routinely worked 50+ hours EACH week for years and never collected a dime of unemployment in her life.( I am climbing down off soap box with red face)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Unemployment insurance is life saving i would say unless you are taking advantage of the system..it’s when there are all kinds of jobs and one doesn’t apply and rake it..

Was a sunny afternoon now it looks like the sky is about to open. I gave up sewing about 1:30pm when shoulder told me it was time to stop. I got all but one bath towel done, it will be in moms Christmas box. Likely by end of weekend the 3 gnome cushions will be done.

Sharon kept saying she was hungry for cake, i baked a cake but drats thought i had icing but don’t so whip cream/whip cream, tad too lazy to go to Foodland!

Asking for prayers for Linda

She just sent me this

I’m at RVH emergency right now, been here since 19:00 am. I’m having myself checked out, for 2 weeks i have Been exhausted, feeling weak, lack of energy, headaches, light headed and Overall not myself.

I’m not sleeping maybe 2 to 3 hrs a night. Dr pazoki gave me Tylenol 2’s but they did not help me sleep

I was afraid it might be signs of another heart attack.

They took blood work, did an ECG

My red blood count is dangerously low at 70 count they do a transfusion

I’m in a lazy boy chair waiting for transfusion. Admitting me for 1 night

I have a gastroscope booked for October 26 at 9am. I’m bleeding internally somewhere

❤️💞😘

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh dear Linda, I'm hoping this is not the same thing I have. Mine is called G.A.V.E. Gastric Antral Vascular Ectasia. Also called Watermelon stomach for the streaks that form where the blood is leaking. My symptoms are much the same as yours. The good thing is a transfusion makes an immediate difference for the better. Bad thing is the treatment must be repeated until it stops leaking.
I'm not understanding why they are waiting until 26th for EGD, It should be done right away.

The cannot operate and fix it Karen?
She just video chatted with me.. so much going on in my world that it’s overwhelming..been asked to keep these things quiet so will BUT i am overwhelmed with it all
Night night

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

They can only cauterize the bleeding areas Eventually they get them all. I was good for 6 years. It's why I got in such bad shape. Just never occurred to me it was back.
It's a fairly rare condition.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers for your friend Linda.

Love those towels.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sending prayers for Betty & your family stuff as well as your friend Linda. I thought initially you meant OUR Linda Kay!! Glad to hear you are OK Linda K, now to get "the other Linda" fixed up.

I have my OWN internet again. My modem was bad, I have a rented one thru Spectrum until I can get one purchased and installed. I am grateful to have my own, they moved my unit to my sewing room. Now if I can just keep Stanley from doing bad things to it!! He pushed over the TV yesterday. It leaned against the wall and did not fall completely behind the TV stand/dresser like it could have. I have 2 banquet tables stored back there.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, cold out there, 37f
Calling for overcast with rain later 8n the day so i will force myself to do one more cut, wash the lawnmower, take battery out and wrap it up for the winter.

Karen, the doctor told Linda that in order to do the test she has to be off blood thinners for 5 days so October 26th it is. Dave her hubby is at the beginning of dementia, next door neighbour went over to check on him and he was very confused, had his coat on waiting for Linda to call him..at least when visitors could come he could have sat with her and wouldn’t have fretted so much.

Doug Ford our Premiere is coming on this afternoon to advise of further openings.

Ziggy is waiting for me to let him out, just daybreak, one never knows what critters are out hunting so inside til daylight.

Guess i will go embroider that last towel to the set I’m doing for mom and work on those pillows…miss being outside in the gardens

Oil change at 4 so i might pick up Chinese

Imagine, thinking of going to $$$ store and pick up some Christmas gift bags…imagine

Karen i sent Linda your post and she replied

Thanks tell her that is what i have i was diagnosed with it over 10 years ago. First time I’ve required a transfusion.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

She has been very lucky to not need transfusions all this time. She is the first I have ever heard of who also has this.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

My sweetie Ben was anemic much of the time. I remember a nurse telling me "he is the WHITEST white man I have EVER seen!"
