Many on Facebook are saying it was antifa that rushed the capital, not republicans. Supposedly George Soros keeps paying them, to make the republicans look bad.

It is so sad what happened yesterday. Praying for those that were killed or injured.
Sunshine morning,
Sitting here enjoying a coffee while watching CNN, knitting a mile a minute, last 2 days I managed to do another neck warmer....did my grocery list and thinking of taking a quick run to town, I’ve been wearing those heating pads you buy (hot/cold) need more so thinking as it’s a sunshine day today should be shopping day.
Ziggy is enjoying sun rays
LOL... look at Ziggy soaking up the rays!!
The political acting out is simply appalling. I am ashamed of how some of my fellow Americans are behaving.
I bought a hideabed and it was difficult to get into the house! Adam will be back in town today and maybe we can get some more work done on the sewing room etc before he has to leave for work late this afternoon. I am scheduled to look at a barrister bookcase this afternoon. It's the perfect size (1 inch to spare!! ) for where I want it BUT it needs to be assembled and I am not sure I want to tackle that.
the hidebed mattress is an odd size, 48 wide, between twin & full so I will likely customize a fitted sheet for it.
I hired my neighbor for help yesterday. The oldest, Carson, came to help get the hideabed in the house and would not take money. He did agree to accept chocolate chip cookies, so I made those while his brother Gabe did some of my outdoor work that needed doing. I managed to get the cookies baked and sent back with Gabe. Told Carson that if they were any "fresher" he'd burn his mouth! I already had butter softened on the counter for a different project I had planned, so I was able to whip the cookies up in a hurry.
Did the 1/2 hr drive to Barrie this morning Pat, was nice to do a sunshine drive..
Had a grocery list but decided it was nothing I needed today and with Covid numbers on the rise they could wait..did though pick up the hit/cold pads for my hip..will do 10 days, should have bought more.
Yes, Ziggy lives the sunshine, she loves that I put his bench at the front window, thought he would spend more time there but seems to feel comforted amongst the couch and pillows..they know how to get comfy!
I always wanted a built 8n hide a way bed when grands were younger, thought it was a neat thing to have..if I ever move to an apartment, 2 bedroom apartment I’d get one and that way I could use one bedroom as a craft room.
Can smell those cookies, am sure they loved helping you..
A bit more work of sandwhich’ing the Santa quilt then I can start to quilt..was going to put it on the frame, decided not to, not sure if made the correct choice, we will see.
Brrrrr bitter cold here this morning, of all nights I 2as find8ng it hot out furnace down to 70, climbed back into bed til it warms up..
What are you up to today??
Dianne was talking to SHaron about dog insurance, she felt it was far too expensive, she does have friends who have it..you have to really check policy to see exactly what it covers..guess it’s a chance you take..last few years you can see what it cost, would the policy be more?
G00d morning.
37 this morning, supposed to be 70 today. Not bad for January.
Guess we here can’t expect to have sunshine every day..so cold the snow is glittering..opened door for ziffy, what a screech.
School was closed here today. there was supposed to be freezing rain through the night but it didn't happen. Looks like this will be an entire year wasted as far as school; is concerned.
Yes, lets face it ONLINE is just NOT the best choice for kids. Better than nothing, but few parents are willing and able to do what it takes to make being home & online a good experience.
I have a lead on FREE 6 foot chain link fence that Adam & I are going to go out and see this morning. I do hope it turns out.
Just one more thing to create havoc with schooling this year..poor parents that have to work..too bad numbers are really high re Covid or I might take in some kids to help but scary times.
Karen what are you work8mg on or are you just resting and deciding what comes next?
I’ve been quilting, came upstairs to rest for an hour but the sun is beaming through, know it will be hard to go back downstairs.
Pat, why do you need fencing? Was it for possibly housing a dog? Free is good, hope it works out for you.
Drats, picked a to do from my jar this morning..was to clean freezer downstairs, looked like it needed to be unplugged and deuces so I’m doing that in my rest period between quilting
Noticed a lot more dust here than normal so I will see where I can go to get filter for furnace..looks worse because of the sun shinning...hate dust, off to find my dusting spray/cloth.
They announced last week, that our county here in Texas is the fast spreading the virus, per capita. Pretty sad. Yet, we can't get the vaccine her, for those that want to get it.
I picked up the one embroidery machine from the tech yesterday and gave it a run through today just to make sure all is as it should be before I list it for sale. Also picked out and pressed the fabrics for the baby quilt which is my next to do.
I also had a few words with Jess' kitten. She seems to think I'm her jungle gym when I'm down there. I do need to change her opinion on that.
WATER spray bottom = well behaved Kitty. Just ask Stanley. He was a QUICK learner!! LOL
Adam has the 2 labs and a tiny mutt, they are INSIDE dogs but we want to be able to put them outside to do their business without being on a leash. I will have 1/2 the yard fenced for them and keep MY side protected from the dogs. We picked up a lot of the free stuff today but Adam will need help to get that last roll of 6 foot, too much for one man & I am no help.
ohhh Pat, your beautiful gardens, 3 furries, big sigh did you get your fencing?
That is not good news Lindakay, even higher rate than California? thought they said trump had ordered enough to get almost all states done ...sad, so many more will die and for not. I will call dr’s office this week to get my name on home visit and see if there is a list to get on. Our numbers are rising as well, I have heard though they are vaccinating those in homes and medical staff so that is good hews. Think I will surf web tonight and pick a city that has same population as the numbers of death to kind of mentally get the feel of just how many have died..
Hope Liz is doing ok.
Karen, You are really gung ho re your selling machines, nice of you to have them serviced .. have problems with Ziggy when I have a quilt on frame, he think it’s a hammock. I noticed he wants to claw my new white chair, likes the fabric, so I put wide clear tape along edge and hen I remember put some ointment on the tape, so far so good.
Did myself in today, if I’m wasn’t cleaning, sewing, knitting I was cleaning downstairs freezer and refrigerator in my craftroom..
Just climbed into bed, remembered I put food between basement stairwell..it’s so cold I’m sure it will stay frozen so I’ll not get out of bed to put it back into freezer.
Yes, my flower beds will be protected and the dogs will have a fair amount of space, a LOT more than what they get now. The state was to put up a fence for Adam & Andrea and never did. We hope to get a good size "shed" like dog house built for them as well with a kennel. We'll see, lots we don't know yet.
Stanley used to claw the back of my office chair but the sticky tape fixed that issue. The tape is long since off but still he doesn't scratch. He just needed to know he was not supposed to. He has huge cat tower with LOTS of scratching post areas and another one in my office where the computer is.
We did pick up a lot of the free stuff but need to go back and get one more roll that we coudn't get this run. I am so grateful to get so much of the materials free.
Ah I had forgotten about a water bottle. Yep it's what I need.
Betty i try and be as honest as I can about things I'm selling. I'll be getting out the Singer Featherweight next and getting it ready. Not much it needs. Was in good shape when I got it and I've only played a bit with it so it will be sold as is. It's a Centennial and in very good cosmetic shape plus runs good. After those two, will have to see which is next to go.
With selling of these machines Karen are you thinking of purchasing another?
What do they charge in your area for servicing?
Well Ziggy want out so best start my day
Well I've been up since 3 am - didn't get to sleep until after midnight. The reason - my new puppy Kai. I forgot how much work a puppy was .lol Chaos is tolerating Kai so that is a step in the right direction. Kai is only 6 weeks old but mom had 12 puppies. I offered to take Kai a couple of weeks early to give mama a break. I'll get a good shot of him today and post it. A friend came with me yesterday and we were 9 hours in the Escape. The 401 was shut down in 1 stretch but in a way it was a bonus as we got to see some lovely countryside.
Pat I love hearing about Stanley.
Stay safe and well everyone. We are into lockdown even here in the village.
From what I am reading the pandemic is getting worse, not better. I do hope the vaccine slows some of this down. A good friend of mine just got tested yesterday, she had flu symptoms. I hope the test comes back negative. She's a single mom, I don't know if she is salaried or not. She is a manager for a local home care agency, She has been working out of her home since the pandemic and does a LOT of her work AT home so it's not like she would have to be completely off work. It means not checking on caregivers on site or making her normal deliveries. It would certainly impact her effectiveness for a bit.
I helped my DSisIL find three 5drawer filing cabinets to set up her home office. She didn't have anything for files and it sure looks like she is not returning to the office anytime soon. I haunted the for-sale sites until I found 3 heavy duty cabinets for a steal-of-a-deal and she is so happy to finally be organized and tidy again.
The school kids are in school part time here and in my grandkid's district. I am sure that is MUCH better for my grandson, the in-home wasn't working well for him!
Stanley got a https://www.amazon.com/Catit-Senses-2-0-Super-Circuit/dp/B00D3NIA2Q/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=circuit+circle+for+cats&qid=1610205683&sr=8-7 for Christmas and really enjoys it. I bought the flashing light balls. We've both been enjoying him \4playing with it.
I hope to get some trim painted in the sewing room so I can move some stuff around in there. I put a portable heater in the garage so I can do some painting in there (too cold and moist otherwise). I hope to get one coat of paint on the dining room table I picked up a few months ago. Getting the table out of my garage would sure be a help! Alas, I got an adorable 3 drawer night stand for free last night that needs painting but THAT is not for today! I am going to stir up dust with sanding when I intend to paint the table.
I just don't have the patience and endurance for a puppy! I have only had ONE KITTEN and that was over 30 years ago. Bandit was 17 when she passed. My last 2 cats were rescues & young but not kittens.
Not planning on buying any more machines Betty. The idea is to downsize as no one is interested in inheriting my machines. Those as sew have machines already. I think a basic service at Bernina is about $90. Includes any needed adjustments. Parts of course would be extra.
Every time I start to weaken about another pet, I think about how hard it was to let Molly go and I just don't think I'm up to going through that again.
Lordy Pat, you’ve completely exhausted me Nd here I though I was being a busy bee
Today,,,,take 5 to rest..looking forward to seeing your new sewing area. Hmmm Ziggy is not one,to,play with toys, will have to check it out.
Karen, thinking ours range between $80-$100 for just a general cleaning, after that up it goes.
Been cleaning dust last few days and complaining, took out the filter and omg
Ran into town, called my order in for filters, just stopped and someone came out to hand them to me then a quick stop at Kentucky fried chicken and home again ..looked quiet in town but I decided the few things I need I can wait.
Might have chicken, enough for now and tonight then have a nap
.
Stanley has given me so much comfort and entertainment, I am just so happy I got him. If I were to lose Stanley now, there is NO doubt in my mind I would get another pet. Something I was worried about, whether after the extra cleaning and expense & hassle (when I need a kitty caregiver), whether I would regret getting a cat. NOPE, NOT at all.
Congratulations on the puppy, Dianne! What does Chaos think of him?
How are you doing Deb? With increase in Covid numbers are you able to work from home?
They sure give us comfort..when I loss missy I said no more...sure was quiet in this old house. To this day when I get up most mornings I watch where I put my feet as Sailor Girl used to lay by my bedside, ball in mouth waiting for me to play ball.
I haven’t seen SUZANNE in about 2-3 months, she messaged me and said she would stop at Timmies in the morning and bring coffee and donuts..best I go to bed now so it will be morning lol
Was doing good on my quilt, after going to town and eating lunch I decided to nap, there went the day.
Oh my.... the filter certainly told you why the extra dust problem! LOL.
So far today just spend time with son Adam looking at the metal shed, scoping out the possible location of the fencing, prioritizing the work. we were making a list of what needed to happen & who needed to call who to get the ball rolling. FIRST I need to call the DIG hotline and have the yard marked for all utilities etc. He is out unloading the truck of all the free fencing material right now. He starts work at 4,
I bought Adam several pairs of jeans at the thrift store a while back. He prefers/needs the really big baggy kind so his thighs are comfortable. THAT is not a current style and very hard to find. I did find some jeans a size too big in "loose fit" and last night I altered them with elastic in the waist. I see he is wearing one of those today.
STUFF to do, later folks.
my bruises are much better, thx for asking - it's been 1 month yesterday since I fell, and still have a lump on my upper thigh, but it's getting lesser (only 4" across).
Here's the paint by number that my DD & DSIL gave us for Christmas. The tan you see beside the picture is the canvas that we'll be painting on. Smaller holes in the canvas that I've seen for cross stitching. Anyway, we will be working on it soon.
The weather's been nice actually - best we've had for years. No freezing pipes, thank goodness 😊

Morning, no sunshine this morning but no snow either so am a happy camper.
Been up since 4:30, did regular chores, picked my to do and it was wash downstairs floors, got that done so housework done for the day, have the microwave box filled with burnables so might go burn it before I start my day of sewing.
Oh Susan, that canvas will be beautiful when done, fry cry from the cardboard paint by numbers and if you don’t rush it you likely will have a project that last until spring.. seen so many nice ones..one day I will have to get back into painting, so long since I’ve done oils... maybe even take out sketching. Glad you are doing better, you must be very careful out there, no slipping and sliding. What is Bob doing to entertain himself?
Wow, your numbers are rising Lindakay, do you find you are secluding yourself more than a few weeks ago? I found yesterday when I did the door pick up for furnace filters that even months ago I would have gone to a few stores but told myself no, not putting myself in danger..can any one of us remember going into stores and just browsing?wont it be something to be able to do so again??
Pat I found even for myself they’ve changed designs of jeans, hate this low hop ones...I’ve stretch cording slack I’ve had for about 5 years, still look new, I’ll be sad when they are done as you can’t find them anymore.
Are you putting fencing up regardless Pat or are you waiting to get confirmation family is coming?
Dianne, hows is all going in your neighbourhood?
Nice visit with Suzanne and Linda joining in on messenger..technology, isn’t it grand.. I’ve got a nice nightgown from Suzanne , off white, cardinals and so plush, can’t wIt for bedtime.
Downstairs I go
Just have to finish that blooming Santa quilt
Yes, I stay home, and only go out when needed. I make sure I always wear my mask when going out. Bottle of hand sanitizer is always in my car and 1 in purse. Pretty sad we are being controlled like this.
Do you mean you think they are saying to do this and not warranted? I’d rather do it regardless, would hate to spread a germ and kill someone from my thoughtlessness..
Are you all enjoying sunshine today, your feet up on a hammock?
Sunshine out there but still too darned cold.
30F here today, mild I guess one would say in my neck of the woods.
Not sure why I’m freezing, perhaps just cold.
Darlene Nd John said that they might come to midland later 8n the week so gives me all week to finish Santa so I’m filling up the tub, out fireplace 8n my bedroom on and just might crawl into bed.
Wish I had something to do just sitting upstairs..know I’ve got some wool circles cut and know where my embroidery floss is, maybe I could make a Valentine’s Day Penny rug??
Is it just me or are you all having a time of it filling in your day, even watching tv doesn’t do it...
I like challenges, maybe you could challenge me to something....
It's cold and damp, not a good combo for me!!
I am going forward with the fencing regardless of whether son & wife come to live or not. Getting that done will not hinder me in any way. I looked at ads for RVs of all kinds as a possible solution for the months between the end of their housing and the end of the school year. It's an hour to Dayton from here, where the kids go to school. Currently, they live on the OTHER side of Dayton quite a ways further into the mountains and catch a bus at 6.30 AM to get to school in time.
I found a "Toy Hauler" that would have REALLY been a good choice because of all the open space, queen size bed above the open area. It could have easily accommodated the whole family (not easy with 4 kids living at home!) Andrea didn't think it was necessary so I am letting the whole thing just drop. Guess when we know for sure when they are leaving, they can deal with it then. She thinking camping for free in one of the state parks is doable solution if only a month or two to avoid the commute etc. Ok,.,,,
I've been researching designing a pretty gate to enclose the entry into the patio (because of the dogs). I've been watching U-tubes & other sources to figure it out. I got this, it will be fun!!! I would LOVE to have a really fancy premade one but the prices are AWFUL!!! So I will make a cute one I can customize with a jigsaw or pre laser cut metal, embellish with lattice etc. I want something pretty, that can be a work of art, "friendly" and let people see in and keep dogs within safely. AND stay within my self inflicted budget of $200 for EVERYTHING, materials and any labor I might need. Easy right? LOL
Oh Lordy pat, if nothing else it’s keeping you busy, that helps in times like this.
No I wouldn’t go so far as easy..few years back I might have..yep you can scroll saw some nice designs to cut out! You can do it..
As for state parks there sure are nice ones..
When I had the R.V. stayed in a few inner Florida, hated to move to a regular park.. soooo that might work, seems to me you DIL is fighting everything you are trying to do for them.
That is just who she is. And it's just me to try and PLAN, PREPARE and perhaps over think things. It's OK, I can let it go now for a while!
Sometimes I spend TOO MUCH time looking at this stuff. It's always been a weakness of mine.. Taking too long to make up my mind can be an issue. I wish I were more easily satisfied, not so driven to find the "Right" whatever!! On the plus side, when I am true to that nature, I end up with something I LOVE rather than "make do" or "OK".
I went to Home Depot to buy 2 pieces of 8 x 4 vinyl lattice to start the repairs on the patio and they do NOT have any in stock. I am going to have to find a way to repair what I have until it is in stock somewhere. Yea, not a lot of us wanting to buy lattice in January!
I have bulbs starting to come up and petunias that so far have wintered over!! RARE winter when that happens and, there have been years that February was our worse weather so not counting my chicken before they hatch yet. Last year, with Ben's death I never even saw my tulips bloom in the back yard, not once. they bloomed and were gone before I even thought to look. .
Morning, having coffee looking out, world looks so still, few homes still have outdoor Christmas lights on....peaceful!
Think Pat it’s how we cope with grief, if we don’t stop we don’t have time to grieve..
Know in our area all the lumber stores have little left in their stores, contractors can’t keep up with their commitments..guess everyone who is home who always had a project to do are home doing them...
I’ve been thinking of replacement dining room, living room and hallway flooring but now is not the time, I’d hate to start and not be able to get it finished because something comes up and can’t be bought.
Do hope your tulips survive, not sure why, love tulips nut only planted a few, they don’t last long, maybe that is why.
Bath time then downstairs I go.
