Nope, I am no dog trainer. I have worked with dogs a time or two. In high school my parents sent my dog and me to dog obedience classes. Heidi was awesome, so smart and quick to learn.
I just won, in a drawing, some time with a professional dog trainer. I am going to work with my son's lab Nova. I hope to have her come here for several days a week so we can get to know each other and increase the likelihood of the training to be effective.
In college we needed to do a demo lecture and I convinced the pound to "loan me a dog" for few days. I taught the young adult lab dog the basics, come, sit, stay & heel. After I ran the dog thru the basics, I offered anyone in the class to walk the dog. I had a volunteer, things were going fine until some one dropped a book off their desk. That poor dog spooked, sailed over the desks, and landed in my lap! I figured if the dog knew the basics he would get adopted faster.
I have had family members and friends with show dogs. That was never my thing.
Best/Worse/What did I Learn today? Come sit a spell, a time to chat and come together!
Karen, that is adorable.
Pat, I have two untrained schnauzers. We do fine while we are walking alone or just running into people. Let another dog enter the picture and all hell breaks loose. They are nine and all of the neighbors know us and they know I am a little old lady. So if they see us coming, they cross the street and we wave at each other. If we are in the greenbelt we go opposite directions.
I worked in the garden today. The weather was beautiful. My daughter came over and helped me finish the closet under the stairs. She spent about 2 hours and went through a few boxes that were under the stairs that were from her daughters. Found box of my son's old love letters and photos from college. He and his family will be here on Feb. 10th. On the sly I will ask him what he wants me to do with these letters and photos.
My garden helper with the back of his truck full. He will sell the stuff and then help a family that he helps. Or himself, I really do not care, as long as it is out of my house.
We also cleaned out the attic above the garage. Treasures put up there over 10 years ago, came down the stairs as garbage. Vern's son came over and helped go through two boxes of Vern's we found that had a bunch of old photos and junk. I let him decide what he wanted to keep.
The tree stumps got ground down today and they did a great job of leaving me some nice stumps. They also carved out a bowl in one large tree stump for a succulent garden.
First photo is hummer that visited many times today. And other two photos of area they ground down the stumps and will be a hill built to be a flower bed.
Betty I tried to get here earlier but didn't make it again. I guess you will just need to read in the mornings.
Morning, overcast today, snow to move in later and likely won’t be before next weekend before it ends.. snowmobiles will like it, not ski hills as they’ve been closed.
Karen, love the baby quilt as will the recipient, think the deciding how to quilt is the big challenge.
Sharon did taking away those trees take away shade from the house? Nice that family is helping you purge..kudos on not caring where the purges stuff is going as long as it’s gone..that is why before Christmas I took out some decorations, seton front steps and put on local hub free to good home..a few less totes that didn’t have to go store. You sure did accomplish much..
Know we say our furries are special but I could have rung ziggy’s neck last night or shall I say early morning...he wanted out about 5:30pm, doesn’t usually stay out long so thought it would be ok. I keep the back deck outer door open and once he is in at night close it so I don’t attract other animals who may want to use back deck furniture as a place to sleep, door was closed so kitty must be in..no sooner does he hear the electronic bed noise on my bed he comes..
I got comfy, no Ziggy, as I had been downstairs closing up for the night did I lick him up somewhere? Nope..
Went outside and called, did that over a period of an hour grrrr
Hummm could I when I locked basement door trap him between the doors? Back downstairs then outside calling his name..to heck with him, back to bed..another hour..did I go in woodworking area and put out a light, maybe lock him in there, when I put laundry in closet basket did I lock him there... shook bags of kibble, if he were in the house he’d normally comes for that, up down up down again for almost an
hour..of course every time I called out every dog in the neighbourhood would bark..
Thought maybe if I made a tea and sat eventually Ziggy would come
Sat on the chair, rather lumpy...grrr there was Ziggy, sleeping soundly.. after all of that he was crying to go out at 5:00 grrr
Photo under cover Ziggy didn’t turn out, imagine I was trying not to wake .im
Ugh! I think my head is on sideways. I called yester to make date with hand surgeon. As soon as I hung up I realized I had made it for the day before I'm to have the EGD. Both are fairly simple but I still don't think two in a row is a good idea. She called this morning to change it to a week later. Just too much going on right now to keep it all sorted out.
Granddaughter sent photos this morning. She is now engaged. I knew it was coming as when I was there, he had asked me if it was OK if he used my mom's ring. I told him of course and he hugged me. They are parents to Arthur so I'm glad they are finally getting their lives sorted out.
Best put your appts further apart
Congratulations to the young ones, nice of him to ask you..did you have ring with you or do you have to send it to them?
Wind came up, thought freezing rain would start shortly but neither have..
Can hardly hold my shoulder up, ouch ouch
Will have some soup then off to bed
Waiting for a storm to hit. The snowmobilers will be happy. Betty are you getting this storm too ?
DG won't let me post pics so a friend posted some of Kai in the Parking Lot the How Was Your Day thread. If you want to see the chunk go there. I think there is a pic of Chaos and Keiran too.
Kai is a terror but a cute one. He is full of energy and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Pat I drive an Escape and understand what you feel about your ride. There has been a few times I needed a pickup but not enough to warrant buying one. Besides I live in a rural area so there are plenty around that I can use.
LK I get so many compliments on the dragonfly masks you made and sent me. I tell everyone a friend in Texas made them.
Time for 1 last walk. The coyotes are howling every night so I don't like to walk in the dark.
STay safe and well.
Sharon, I love incorporating stumps into landscape. I remember walking the neighborhood to find the perfect log of wood and offering to buy it. I wanted it to perch a metal sculpture of a cat pouncing at a bird. I had a hollow stump that I positioned next to a birdbath. I filled it with potting soil and planted draping flowers. That gave my cat & the squirrels a place to stand so they could drink out of the birdbath without knocking it over.
Karen, I have always wanted to take a "soft book" and turn it into a quilt. Yours turned out wonderful!! Polka dots are one of my favorite blenders.
That rotten Ziggy!! Yes, why we don't strangle them some days (NIGHTS?) is a mystery to me!! LOL... growing up we had a cat that kept us up a night or two. After that, every time one of us teenagers saw the cat asleep we woke him up!!! By reducing his day time sleeping we convinced him night was a good time to sleep!!!
My sewing room is still in shambles but I gave into temptation and did a little sewing. Made a couple doll bathing suits. I have not done a bathing suit in at least 18 months. I enjoyed it again, they are easy but I just got really tired of making them and stopped. .
What are you up to Linda?
Lots to do so I should do some adulting.
Betty I had left the ring with my daughter as I figured it would be needed one day. I inherited it but I never wore it. It's a beautiful thing a full carat Marquise cut solitaire and then a special guard ring made for it that serves as a wedding band. I do enjoy seeing the family brides wearing heirloom diamonds. There is one more ring that my other daughter has for safe keeping. It will go to which ever of her boys takes the big step next. It doesn't have to be used as is, the stones can be reset in a new ring.
WOW, full carat solitaire! That's a big diamond! It is special when the rings can be passed from one generation to the next.
Went to the doctor today and all is OK. Got my subscriptions renewed for 6 mo months. Had my blood drawn and will have that report in a week or two. My Vitamin D was low so they want it up and I have been taking some so we shall see.
I purchased some violets at Lowe's garden center, went to Trader Jo's and picked up a few things and then we another Lowe closer to my house and my garden helper met me there and we picked up 12 bags of mulch and soil to mix together with some of the other items we have in the garage already for the new flower bed. We will work on it next Thursday and Friday. I will garden tomorrow because it is suppose to be a beautiful day.
Betty, I pray your pain has diminished.
Karen, that is always beautiful when family jewelry gets passed down and treasured.
Diane, I will go over and take a look at the new puppy.
Pat I will take some photos of my stumps.
NEW flowers beds! Blank slates! How exciting!!! We will be pulling out a line of bushes & curbing edge around a "flower bed" that is about 4 feet wide along the patio. I want to widen that parking along the side of the house. It's wide enough to park but barely. Anyone getting in or out has a choice between stepping into the flower bed (with the curbing THAT's risky!) or into the neighbors yard. The extra 4 feet will help.
Marie stopped by yesterday, she had been to Walmart and looked over the clearance stuff. She brought me a pair of jeans for $5. I have worn out all of mine and I have been ordering and ordering but Full Beauty has discontinued the styles that fit me. There are not a great fit, I will need to reset the waistband and modify the pockets but hey, they will cover my nakedness in denim! My old jeans were down to threads at the seams on the inner thighs.
I tried to do a project by myself yesterday and got in over my head. I needed to get my king size mattress off the bed so I could dissemble the wooden platform that is over top of the Captain bed drawers. Several years ago, before Ben discharged from a 2 month stay at Skilled Nursing Facility, I had rearranged the bedroom to make it easier for EMTs to get in & out of our bedroom. I gathered up some stuff that was "LONG term storage", that I just wanted a safe place to store. I placed them in acid free storage boxes under the bed. One of the things I stored was Ben's father's American flag from his father's funeral. Ben's daughter would like that and is coming in February.
When I pulled on the mattress, the wooden frame of the bed shifted making it unstable for the headboard. I was inches from having the headboard crash. Decided it was best to wait for some muscle!!! Adam will help me today with that.
I slept in one of the guest rooms. Everyone should do that... gives you fresh perspective on what you might want to change!! I need a night light in there!!! Those that want it PITCH black and can always unplug it. The room does have an overhead fan and light combo on a remote. I at least did that right!! LOL
That is the bedroom I will be moving to IF Adam & family move in. With the kids back IN the classrooms, if they lose the housing at Wooten, they likely will try to find something so the kids can finish the school year in Dayton. It is what it is.
Besides the bathing suits yesterday, I made socks and panties, a couple of simple dresses. Today I will adult and do some actual work in there organizing and cleaning.
When I am satisfied with my works efforts, I want to sew up some T shirts. I have 1/2 dozen purple T-shirts cut out and want to try out using thin crochet on the serger to make a ruffled hem. It's an experiment. If it works like using "Dazzle" in the serger, it will open up a whole new opportunity that will be inexpensive and fun.
Onward! I hope everybody has some projects planned today they are excited to do.
Afternoon, Dianne we ere suppose to get a storm, sun came out, do hope it missed you as well.
Not sure why but I’ve been more relaxed today than I have been in months, seems all is well in my world..watched a piece about dealing with Covid and other stresses and decided puttering around working on projects, few house chores would make me feel better than moping around..could be the strength of cbd oil I put under my tongue this morning.
So envy you Sharon to be able to work in the gardens, lordy even buying plants. Will your new garden be for succulents only? You will laugh at me, the other day I bought a container, mix and seeds included for basil awhile ago so yesterday I started it.covered it with plastic, wonder if anything will grow..that is part of my self growth..calming they say to watch seeds from lol. Glad you got good results at the doctor’s..you can get your meds for 6 months at a time? I have to go once a month.
One can be so creative with stumps.
Pat, Marie is quite the shopper, jeans for $5..I love the stretch jeans, I wear easy ware pants st never in jeans anymore. You sure try to do things that perhaps you shouldn’t on your own, you will hurt yourself..never thought about sleeping in a different bedroom, I have often thought to open a wall from my bedroom to the one that attaches to it and has patio doors and deck onto back gardens but I don’t use what I have now so left that alone.interesting what you come up with, not sure what dazzle is.
Dianne, will go have a look at Mia on the other thread if I can find it..is MIA a chewer? SHARON said she was watching Milan play and took her eyes away and found her new phone cord chewed.
Karen, you have to be one of the most thoughtful person I know..your family is blessed to have you..whenever I think of you and your family I think of the Cleavers, so family orientated. Your granddaughter must have been thrilled to get her great grandma’s ring.
Working a little on the fisherman window throw and the penguin quilt, kit was $200, both Sharon and I bought one last spring.. told her today when mine is finished I’ll put it with the wedding quilts for my 1st great grandchild, not rushing things but too much work in it to just give away.
Well, must decide what I want to do with rest of day, stay laying here with feet up taking in the day, going downstairs to shut everything off or wait and maybe get energized???
Looks as though we are all busy busy
That is good
Betty, I'd just rather see their pleasure in owning the things now than them having to wait until I'm gone. I wore and enjoyed them for many years.
It's why I passed out all the Christmas ornaments and decorations. They enjoy them so much. I can visit them and see them once a year same as if I had them still.
Well you are my mom idle..
Mom gave me 2 of her good rings and SHaron the same

Found the photos of Kai, Dianne. He sure is a cutie! He looks so tiny! I'm sure he'll be grown up before you know it. Enjoy these puppy days!!
Glad you found them Deb. Kai was only 6 weeks old in them. He is going to be a big boy - he reminds me of Diesel. I think he has grown all ready. When he first arrived he couldn't climb the big steps from the house to their yard. Now he scampers up them with no problem. Right now he is all bitey with his very sharp teeth. He is finally not clinging to my leg and I can even go into another room without him chasing after me.
We got the snow then rain then freezing rain then more snow. Poor Mother Nature hasn't made up her mind.
i had a good day. low 70s and all the kids in the neighborhood were at the tot lot right behind my house. So the kids, the dogs and myself are all friends. I know most of the nannies and the fathers but not the mothers. Fathers come with the kids on their days off and nannies are with the kids during the week. I see the mothers at tennis lessons at the tennis courts and yoga/stretch in the greenbelt. They are wave and say hi but I do not know which mother belongs to each child. They all know me as the lady with the fairy garden. All the little girls think fairies live in my garden.
I watered pots in the front garden today and walked the dogs twice. Gave them a bath and watered the propagation plants in the garage. Tomorrow I will water the plants in the back and then Monday I ill plant.
Karen, I feel the same way. I bought very expensive meat and crab for Christmas diner and my daughter was worrying about what it probably cost me. I told her I would rather spend it now and watch them enjoy it instead of you doing it after I am gone.
Pat, you are so lucky you did not hurt yourself. But Betty and I would do the same thing.
I looked for the puppy photo but could not find it. I will try again.
My sister lives in Ventura and she said it was 83 there today.
A neighbor two houses down on the other side of the street had COVID. Over it now. He didn't want to alarm anyone. He is a Dr. and he got it at work.
Third one in the neighborhood of 152 houses.
First and second photo is a succulent that was moved out of the greenhouse. Two big for one photo. Third is tree trunk stump grinder guy sawed out for me. I will have to fine tune. Forth is part of the truck from the front sumac that the same young man straightened the cut for me so I could place something on it.
I like your hollowed out stump piece and the other stump to hold pots. they will both add interest to your yard.
Dazzle is a heavy thread with metallic woven in it. When it's used in the upper looper of the serger it creates a wonderful edge. However, generic variegated crochet thread is cheaper and more accessible to me. CHEAP, my middle name! Marie and I like to put lettuce hems on the little sleeveless tops we make out of the recycled onesies The heavier thread really likes it ripple nice. .
Mostly I start something stupid and then figure out that it's a BAD idea and have to ask for help. I am just not strong enough and my hands don't cooperate. I have no grip in the left hand after the surgery to replace the thumb joint.
I seem to own & wear only two type of clothes, JEANS and casual tops or dresses, nothing in between. I do have some nice dressy pants I should try on again & alter. I know I have to reset the waistband and take in the waist. My big butt makes fitting clothes a challenge. I bought the dress pants just before quitting work and have never worn them.
I am looking forward to seeing what you do with your stumps Sharon!
OK, back to the sewing room, I am on a roll in there! Doing sorting and putting away, culling out excess stuff.
Morning, Dianne got your snow, few inches of it, just enough to make everything with a clean cover of white..
haven’t gone out to shovel yet but will once I’ve had my coffee, think Andrew likes that I move my can on a side space as he can give it straight push and not worry about my vehicle... he was out early this morning, guess it was 5:30, likely wants to spend his day with his family.
Deb, I have not seen photo’s of Mia, if anyone can would they take a photo and post
Sharon that was quite a size of tree, the smaller piece will be a perfect succulent holder, knowing your artistic flare you probably had the garden designed to a “T” before it was even cleared. Can’t wait to see what you will do with larger stump.
Woke up, had a great nights sleep, ohh no it was only 12:09, couldn’t go back to sleep for the life of me, was tempted to get up and do something but knew it would totally turn day/night schedule into a tiz...after having talk to Marg this week, she was one of my volunteers in MacTier, she is 88 and still involved with doing good for community, in fact last year they made and names a park after her, what a legacy, we talked about young ones that came to our programs so I decided to go on Facebook and read up on them, was a great way to fill part of the night..through read8ng their posts, sneering family photo’s I was filled with joy how they turned out..proud as can be of them..a majority of them are community minded, Darren who worked for me now 8n charge of parks and rec., Steve owns a large construction firm, involved in hockey leagues, fund raising for those children who have no equipment or money to join making sure they can, Sheila working on a travelling library, Gail when Covid was not, organizing and teaching senior and youth programs (this was my favourite of all) and so many more, in these times it’s heartwarming to see people building their communities vs tearing them down..a legacy!
I sent them al an email and expect to hear from them.
So now my work in the house is done, haIr in curlers, dressed, I’m ready to take on the day. Mine will be inside looking at the beauty while you all are outside making beauty.
Doesn't your garden art just pop against the white background! There is the beauty and covering up with white everything, the snow is so serene and gorgeous. Ben was an avid skier before his shoulders hurt too much. He taught other one legged guys to ski.
Yes, I am SURE the snow plow driver is happy that your car is well out of the way!!
The girls said they wanted it ALL, so I will be resealing the boxes and putting it all in the computer room closet for Rebecca to take home & sort. 4 boxes of old cards, school albums and letters plus Ben's old baby blanket. I wish the quilt had a label on it. He said his mother made it, maybe she did. She just didn't seem the type to do that, I never saw or heard of her doing any crafts let alone a hand appliqued and quilting baby blanket.
I really hope to get the sewing room "finished" today and vacuumed. I am hauling boxes to garbage, donation, to Marie, to friend, to yard sale storage, ugh. I have a friend stopping at 1 to pick up the stuff she wants to look at. I will take a break to go to church, I have already showered so half the battle is over.
I sorted thru the ribbon & lace, eliminated 1/2. I know there is more in there. I distinctly remember one piece of black & heart ruffled trim that was a favorite of mine and I have not seen it yet. I had YARDS and yards of it so I know it's not all gone.
Yes it’s really serene windy is coming up, always tell by the few leaves left on tree that are doing a dance, think I’ve only seen once car go by but is likely because of it being Sunday..churches are now online so that helps seniors who would like to go but can’t, I wondered about those seniors who had no computer but they are televising as well, that is a plus.
Sometimes Pat taking on a project really makes you purge, maybe your MIL did crafts in her early years..Ben thought she hand made it so perhaps you could make a label for it and use the year before his birth as to when it was made, something that can further be passed on..I don’t remember ever putting a label on anything I made except the ‘we do” quilt I did for my aunt and uncle’s anniversary a few years ago..think it was t(sir 75th or 80th and that wasn’t on the quilt but an embroidered tag.
I also want to go through my containers, I remember when $$$ store had those packages of Misc ribbon, really nice, Michael’s sells them for $12.99, anyway I know I bought packages of browns, black/white but I don’t think red and I’d love to make hearts using different red ribbons.
Bless Ben for teaching handicap skiing..I believe they have a course in Collingwood that does same but alas no skiing this year..doubtful as they extended our Covid Stay at Home til around feb 17th.
Brought the fishing panel upstairs, still a few hours left on it before binding but I thought I could just sit on couch and cut off thread ends then have lunch before heading downstairs..
My niece mentioned how she likes the love you/bushel and a peck so I have one embroidering, will put it together when done..
Must put on my list to order white and red embroidery thread in the morning..just means after work one night Greg will have to knock on their door pick order up and drop it off at the door.
Best I get a move on, supervisor is watching me
Good afternoon everyone.
Wow, bern so busy running and quilting, last time I checked in here was the 13th. So sorry. When not at the quilt shop, using the long arm, I am home sewing more facemasks. 2 days a week, they have free food distributions for those in need. One of the quilting ladies is 82, and can't drive anymore, so I pick her up and take her for her food.
Sharon, we got a really light snow flurry last week, but nothing stuck to anything.
Dianne, so glad you and your friends enjoy your mask. Let me know if you need more. I don't thinkninhave any of the dragon fly fabric left, but I am sure we can find something you like. Sharon and Pat, I can't believe how much energy you have, for all you have been doing.
Karen, I love that quilt. And bless you for passing on that beautiful heirloom ring. I know they will enjoy it.
Deb, thanks..Dianne said she would email them so I could post on the thread..
Ahhh he is absolutely adorable..Lordy look at the paws, by spring you’ll have a time of it taking h8m for walks..lol
You are keeping busy Lindakay, always someone in need
Thanks Deb. I don't mind at all. Chaos is in there too.
Oh my... ALMOST makes me want to have a puppy!!! He is GORGEOUS!! Ben said he had a rottie, and I think it would have been in the short list of potential breeds to consider for Ben if we had gotten a dog.
That puppy is adorable. My neighbors have a new dog, just turned 1 and will weigh abut 10 lbs when it is full grown. My dogs weigh 20. If I ever get another dog it will be a very small dog. So if we run into someone walking their dog, I will just pick mine up and put it in my pocket. That is what she did yesterday.
My Emma has an abscess on her chest. She had one on her side a few months back. Vet says they are cysts that burst. So tomorrow morning we will be going to the vet. Cecil will have to stay home alone but the housekeeper will be here so he will not get lonely.
I watered pots and compost in the back landscape, watered two plants in the house and took the dogs for two long walks. It was a beautiful day and the park was loaded with youngsters and they all love Emma and Cecil.
I have no appointments this week so I can play in the garden all week except for Vet visit. I love when I have a free week.
You are all so talented with your sewing. I can sew on a button but that is about all.
I do not know how much longer I will be on Facebook. Several of my friends have been blocked and my grandchildren are no longer on there so I might disappear. I usually only post photos of family or gardens and flowers but if they block my friends, then they block me.
Another one of my friend's husband died. Just old age. They had been married 72 years.
Betty, your snow is beautiful. Wished you had someone to shovel it for you.
Sure hope all will be ok with Emma..
Sorry to hear of your friends passing, know you will be an immense support for her.
Those are tiny dogs but yes a lot easier for outing..have seen people walking with dogs set in doggie pouch similar to those made for babies.
With no appointments or outings your gardens will be even more breathtaking..you garden year round, for me spring/summer, much easier on old bones but not as nice to the eye looking at all the beauties on morning walk through.
Sharon, please don’t leave, not computer savvy so not sure if dg is separate of Facebook..
Yes, Facebook is separate. Sharon, have your friends and family checked into the blocks? It could have been accidently, I am always afraid I'll hit "the wrong button" and instead of delete, block someone.
Sharon, not everyone is given the same talent or interest. My sewing was developed originally out of need. My clothes needed to be altered if bought off the rack, my sister as well. Then, because it was easier to make my own clothes than alter them, it became a creative outlet. I still have to alter any pants that are store bought. My bottom is BIG so my hips are out of portion, I buy pants to fit hips & butt & take the waist in mega amounts. My sister is SOOOoo short in the crotch I have to reset her waistbands or it's up under her bust!! Thankfully Marie now sews so she taken on most of her altering!
Marie has another MD appointment in Cord'de Lane (outside of Spokane) on Wednesday. We won't know the time until sometime later Tuesday. We will need to go up Tuesday night or could Wednesday if the appointment is not too early. Praying for a late morning appointment! I hate having to pack my Cpap unit etc.
I really want to play in my sewing room but the rest of the house has been neglected while I was working in there so I am determined to get some housework done first. Sweep, vacuum, mop, put away the boxes I took for my step-daughters. It must be in the air, Marie stopped by, she had cleaned out her linen closet and pulled out worn towels, excess bedding. Even bundled up all the throw blankets she had acquired in the living room! I scored a needed King size blanket for me and set of Queen sheets for my DIL.
I looked in the medicine cabinet of the hall bathroom. I am going to have a tough time getting all that into smaller cabinet in the 3rd bathroom. I am NOT moving anything until I KNOW if I need to. There is a lot I can purge now that I am not working. I don't need that much nail polish & I can reduce the "storage" of extras. Extra deodorant, soap and other supplies have been stored in there.
Still LOTS to go thru, it's really like "moving" into a studio apartment without changing your address! I will be ready if/when the time comes. It forces me to downsize and purge, all things I should be doing anyhow. I am a little undecided whether to sell or store the king size bed that will have to be taken out of the "girls" room if/when they move in.
Had my 6 month check up and all is well there. I did go over a few things with my Dr. regarding meds and got that sorted out.
Jess Bryan and Hubby have all had bad colds. So far I'm Ok and playing keep away. BUT while I was gone this morning, Jess went and got tested and is positive. I don't have anywhere else to hide. Whole house is under quarantine. I called Dr's office and they want hubby to come in tomorrow. They have a special procedure for suspected cases...I guess it's wait and see for me.
Oh nuts, sorry to hear that Karen! I understand they do have much faster testing now, thank goodness!
Have you tried the water bottle with your kitty body-climber?
Well that is a good day/bad day news, holly wahhh, with you fighting so many issues you are in a very bad place...I’m sure you are worried and family if not,for them for you..can you close off an area just for you and hubby..drats and more drats. You are lucky your doctor is willing to see your hubby..is he asking for him because he has been unwell?? there are no words Karen, tummy is just churning..worried about you all...Jaye has had it but I think she is much healthier than you..hugs and prayers.
Are you feeling like something might be amiss, prayers coming your way.
Your life is always so busy Pat...soon you will be able to be creative in your home.
Yesterday late afternoon I heard the rescue unit go down the road, then helicopter, at the end of my road 2 snowmobiles went, down, thin ice..ice kept breaking for rescuers and dark for helicopter doing a rescue, this morning they were looking for bodies, as well another went down in penetang, rescued but succumbed at hospital..all one can say is what we’re they thinking, they weren’t..hasn’t been cold enough to make ice and what is there is thin..poor families.
Sun was shinning through front window, felt I was stunning on a Florida beach..chills again so back into the tub
Hard times dear friends, please stay safe..
Oh the ice !!! I am always concerned about the depth of the ice on the lake. I take my decision on when the locals pull their huts off of the lake. Last Thurs night the huts came off. These guys are all hard core ice fishermen - I notice the huts are back again this afternoon. What is wrong with these people pushing the pig's eye (an expression Warren used to say) ? I always worry about the first responders to situations like you described Betty.
Pat I did the same with 1 of the cupboards under the bathroom sink. There were part bottles of Listerine, tooth paste, aftershave, 2 broken septic pencils and on and on. Feels good though.
Kai is growling at the corner of the blanket that I had to put over the leather recliner he thinks he can chew on.
Good news Karen. I hope your DH gets some help tomorrow.
Dianne, how right you are, on the community hub they posted either Saturday or yesterday morning that someone was about to lose their hut as it was sinking..I’m thinking cottages as area snowmobiles know at best of times that area doesn’t freeze and the 40 year old who lost his life yesterday was a local and should have known better.
We all must t be in a cleaning mode, almost all kitchen done..under zinc and it’s done..can we call this our spring cleaning. Im on another challenge, as though finishing 2 sewing projects isn’t enough, one to use up everything in freezer and cupboards, only buy what is needed to make the meal, that way I can start fresh..wonder how that will work out.
Kia is better to chew the blanket vs the leather chair...bet he is cute doing it, looking up a you with those eyes..
Well I’ve had enough of this day..another couple of hours and the fishing throw/wallhanging will be done..1 hr more and Leeann’s Valentine’s Day pillow will be done and if it wasn’t for running out of Canadians wool I’d have a 3rd neck warmer done..
I’ll cuddle in, had my bath earlier, will get my son-in-law book reader out and pick a book to read, likely won’t take long to fall asleep
Sorry to hear shectested positive Karen. Praying everyone has room to isolated, and stay safe.
Betty, sorry to hear about the snow mobiles going through the ice.
Thing is they've been sick since mid last week and thought it just a sinus thing.
I'm well exposed so now we wait and see.
