Oh Dianne, that is a lot of puppies. But sad to say we will probably see them somewhere on the side of the road selling them. People down here are not responsible for getting their animals fixed, and let them roam free all through the neighborhood.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Pull up a chair and come chat with friends, new and old....
Oh LK I sure hope not .... this is a reputable breeder so I am thinking positive. These backyard breeders have no conscience.
Agree with Betty Karen. Start a group .... with your wealth of knowledge and experience I bet people would love to join up. There's a retired farmer down the road who has started to learn how to quilt. He has taken quite a ribbing from his buddies.
Stay safe and well.
Men CONSTRUCT quilts, not sew! LOL Although the women FAR out number the men, look at who is doing the most "presenting" comparative to numbers at conventions and competitions!
I've been thinking about it Betty. Need to see about a place. Then see if we can drum up interest.
Karen, our group meets at the agriculture center. The 4H group also meets there for various activities. When the kids want to learn quilting, our group helps them.
QOV has groups like that too. It's called Under Our Wings.
Our group up north met at the VFW which was nice as they gave us a closet to keep things in and they had a lunch counter too.

Morning, bitter cold out there for a spring day, Mother Nature isn’t giving me weather to be working outside.
On the good side Ray dropped in to tell me he sold his landscaping business to his employee however he is keeping some of his clients and I will be one of them. He said looking at his books for several years rarely have they been able to get spring clean up done before end of April, early May so only a few weeks wait.
Yesterday afternoon had joanne droooed 8n, was tell8ng me about dog bandanas she has been making, she sells here wares, we went downstairs and I showed her my collar insert ones, I made one to show her how easy and she was thrilled.
Just playing today..
Karen, think it’s well worth looking into..even if you were to find a few ladies that you could take turns at our place and their place?
Finishing my coffee then go8ng in search of a patio pillow, how could I lose one?
Everyone MIA?
Drats, can’t believe it’s snowing grrr
I am here. My son and grandson came in today. They are watching our dogs and house while we go to Austin this weekend for the hot rod show. We leave in the morning.
I'm home early, had MD appt. Glutton for punishment, saw Dr Cain, my PCP today. I got referral for colonoscopy, mammogram, lab work and dermatologist to look at spot on my shin. that ought to keep me busy for a while.
Getting old ain't for sissies.
Pat my sweet dad always used to say "this getting old is for the birds".At the time I wondered what he was talking about.... now I know.
I spent 4 hours outside armed with the leaf blower and/or rake. I hope I'm winning. The TH are exhausted from watching me.
Waiting on this terrible weather that is supposed to arrive. Weather Liars are living up to their name.
Have fun LK. Didn't you go last year ?
Sweet dreams everyone.
Sleep it’s me Diane, slept like a baby for an hour and now I’m wide-awake.
This is an annual trip isn’t it Linda Kay...Enjoy yourselves...
Pat we are all in the same boat, no fun at all ..Thank I said before I cannot remember my grandmother is complaining like I do. She must’ve Made of stronger stuff than I .
Diane, the weather we had today is on its way to you I imagine.
Wonder how Susan is doing??
Guess I will try this sleep stuff.
Morning,39 with high winds...
picked up some tree limbs, forgot all about getting my winter tires off this afternoon, might be a tad early seeing as we still have snow in the forecast but wanted them off for Wednesday trip. Forgot all about the appointment ori would have called Greg to put them in the car last night, called him this morning but he was almost in Barrie..know I’ll be hurting tonight
Hi - doing fine, Betty - still have my "breaking cough" but good otherwise.
Heading into town this morning - some sort of heart test, re: 4 weeks ago when I was worried, but I'm fine. My Dr is just being thorough. 1 hr drive & have to be there for 11:30. Going to do a bit of shopping in the meantime while we're there.
Got our SHARP funds (repay from gov't re: getting new Hot Water tank) deposited today. Only been 1 1/2 weeks (if that long) since I faxed in the forms 👍
Dianne, yes this is an annual trip for us. Been coming to Austin for the car show for about 12 years now. Almost too big of an event. More than 5,000 vintage cars from all over the world. Too big to walk and see it all.
Evening all..
Susan, glad they taking no chances..
LIndakay,don’t overdo
warmed up although the wind is just a blowing.
Got a few things done this morning and this afternoon went to midland to have tires changed, while shopping I heard that clanging in the front, I did think it could be winter tires but nope, same noise so,drove to Barrie at dealership, Kyle, was, off, today but they sure treated me nicely, mechanic took it for test drive and didn’t like the sound so I came home in a nice camero I think it is..hoping it will be fixed by Wednesday..
This,runn8ng around and shopping sure tires one out, did a number on my hop..go8ng,to have a hot chocolate then bedtime it it..
Thought self, you can get it all done in one day or I will ll have to go back out tomorrow so today it was.

had a good ECHOcardio test today. Technician said all 4 chambers look fine & heart is strong. BPM is a bit fast at 85-90 & perfect is 80, but still very good and my BP is 129/76
Having a Rod Run in Pigeon Forge this week-end. Last year we went there by accident and let me tell you it was horrid trying to even get back out of there. No way would we go anywhere near. I love the classic cars. There are so many places here that sell them. BUT no going to Pigeon Forge.
Morning all,
Sunny with high if 43d, so far no wind so hoping I xpcan get a few hours of yard duty in.
Older we get the more we like to stay away from crowds.
Good report Susan.
I’ve nowhere to be this weekend so I’ll just do bits and pieces on my list of to do’s.
First thing is make another coffee
Karen I got a big smile on my face when you mentioned Pigeon Forge. Never visited but has always been 1 of those place I read about and the name makes me smile.Read lots of books where Pigeon Forge is part of the places in the book.
I am going to ry o go back to sleep for a couple of hours. It was 6 am when I finally asleep and the naughty Choco Lab was here shortly after 7 raising a rucus. Grrrr
I have to say, I'm not overly fond of Pigeon Forge or Sevierville....they kind of run together. It's always busy and the streets crowded. Even though there are many lanes the traffic is always heavy. Lots of touristy type things. Gatlinburg is close and about as bad but they do have an artisan area that is kind of fun but getting more commercially, and the aquarium.
Been to pigeon Forge ias well Karen and I wasn’t overly impressed.
Sure am looking forward to going to intercourse and bird in hand to see their fabric shops... girls i’m with aren’t quilters but they can go look at other shops I’m sure there will be something that attracts their attention. Rita doesn’t mind spending time in a fabric shop but don’t think it’s something her sister-in-law would.
On a mission, would love to finish the settee cushions seeing is the wind is so strong that I can’t burn. Maybe tonight it’ll die down and I can set the fire, would hate to burn my house down or back shed LOL
Yeah, burning down your property or someone else's should be avoided!!
Sounds a lot like the hydroplane races to me. Some locals love it, but most of us try to lay low and avoid all the tourists while it's going on. At least over the last few years they have really cracked down on no drinking in the park and that has reduced the rowdiness.
My boss is also on Omada and is very supportive. I am riding my exercise bike first thing in the morning. Bathroom, scale for weight in (that is electronically sent in for report), kitchen for 12 oz of water and then the bike, every morning. It means getting up a little earlier, it's WORKING, that is what is important to me.
New goal for this week 3 miles on exercise bike each day. Did it first thing this morning in 16 minutes at 3 resistance. When I started, I did 1 mile at zero resistance in the same amount of time. So I am making progress. Not as winded doing normal ADL so all that is good.
You sure are challenging yourself Pat. Nice when you can see a difference isn’t it?
Cold here, kind of day that the cold just gets to your bones, laid down for a bit after I finished hand sewing the binding on the swap that lay unfinished since 2014,didn’t take my Ziggy long to find an alternate spot to nap...
I didn’t do nothing, but didn’t accomplish as much as I wanted to...got one of the backs of settee upholstered and cut out 2nd one out..who knows might forget a second wind.
That is beautiful. I saw a tshirt quilt at the hot rod show today. Just a simple t shirt quilt, with 9 different t shirts used. Nice throw size, and they were asking $1000.00 for it. Todd looked at me and said, you better start sewing for the next show.
So laughing, yeah if we only knew we could make $1000 a quote would be Sewing overtime...
Greg just dropped in, he’s trying out a new mini spider for Melanie, new on the market, it’s driven by a snow machine motor and is easier to drive.
Who knows? Maybe the price tag was $1000 because the quilter did NOT want to sell it? when I had yard sale here, I put a ridiculously high price on the 3 items I did NOT want to sell but did not want to move off the patio!! My standing candle torches and my pink headboard bench.
You can see one of the light on the far right hand side of the 1st photo. I have 2, different heights. I think the edge of pink bench is visible in picture 2. These are NOT current pictures.
I have a "thing" for bright pink, don't I? hehehe
You do but both places look sooo inviting..so much so must go look again
Someone wants something bad enough they will pay.
I had inquiries about making T-shirt quilts. I told them $250. That included the batting and backing. Plus the cost of long arm quilting as I couldn't do that. Hmmmmm never heard back. See why I just donate?
Pat, I'm not a fan of pink, but your place (although I realize it's not current) looks very inviting - nice job!
Thanks Susan.
$250 and that included the batting and backing??? HOLY cow, you were GIVING it away at that price Karen!
Linda K, I agree!!! Sometimes we want what we WANT and nothing else will do!! And if someone has the money for it, can afford it, why not?? there have been a few things in my life that I was VERY happy with what I bought, in spite of the price.
3:16 am and I am wide awake. Grrrrr.
Morning..drats weather warning for my region, mix freezing rain might miss us but snow won’t and here I had my winter tires taken off on Friday!
Karen I’m with you, that’s why everything I do like giveaway, I don’t sell because it’s like giving part of your life away for nothing.
Dianne, we’d be quite the pair neither of us sleep very much, Have my household chores done, washing in my first cuppa coffee and now I’m heading downstairs to hopefully finish The patio set.
Often Melanie comes early Sunday morning but I think she’s almost done all her PJ bottoms so likely it won’t be till fall before she gets the sewing bug again
Here’s hoping it sunshine in your neck of the woods and that you have something exciting to do today
I've always said I sewed for love not money. No one wants to pay what my time is worth. They'll go in a store and pay $100 for a pair of holey jeans though.
I wasn't bothered by either of them thinking I was too expensive. I thought I was too cheap. The nice part was, when they asked, one of the people who had seen the quilt I made for the school, recommended me.
Yes, I get asked by co-workers to repair or alter things sometimes. When I want to do it for them, I do. When I don't (like zipper in pair of jeans!) I say NO. I don't even replace zippers for ME!! LOL
The BIG coworker who got a Seahawk sweatshirt for Christmas that was too small asked if there was ANYTHING I could do to make it fit. I found the PERFECT pair of Seahawk pants (in thrift store) to cut for an insert under the arm. I can honestly say the jacket looked BETTER than when I started and she had a jacket she could be proud to wear. I have a soft spot for those of us with fitting issues like needing clothes BIG enough in whatever is currently in style. When you can't buy what fits, no matter how much you are willing to pay, its humiliating.
Pat I do not enjoy doing repairs on clothes, nope not my thing..
Karen, those who think it’s too much money should be made to go out and buy fabric for top, backing , batting and thread then see if they think it’s too much.
We had a tad of freezing rain, now snowing grrr
Well I finished patio set, just thinking of soaking in a tub filled with hot water and a bag of Epson salt..
Thought I might like to take some medallion mug rug pieces to take with me, likely no time to do them but it would occupy down time if I need it so I could cut circles and put a kit together
I'm with Pat, I'd just as soon not sew for them. I don't mind mending so much but I really dislike zippers. I don't even want to do them the first time let alone a replacement. BUT I will, if someone I love needs it done.
I made a baby quilt for someone I love who wanted it for first grandbaby. She paid me $250. it wasn't enough for the work involved, tons of applique. I gave the pattern away.
Some things just aren't fun at all and seem too much work for what you end up with. Others I could work on day in and day out and never tire of them.
