My Sweet Autumn clematis was planted on a 6 foot chain link fence and it grew across and over it in both directions and climbed the neighbors arborvitae as well. It grew 10 x faster than the other clematis that were planted in the area along the same fence in same potting soil filled wooden long planter box. It can seriously twist the metal on a chain link fence...
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Pull up a chair and come chat with friends, new and old....
My aunts grew up to and across her roof. It was beautiful though.
My wisteria was on a chain link fence. I wanted to take some of it with me but it was so entwined, hubby ended up removing a section of fence and paying to have it replaced.
Lorna I put mine on low on the six hr mark I think..I also put potatoes and carrots in it, yummiest ever, now my mouth is watering.. glad Lorna’s mom came for a visit..did she just get there or is her vacation at an end..has she been doing ok?
Yes, mom said now she has decided to keep her she will get bladder and teeth fixed, told her it’s a must because when I get her I want her in good shape lol
Mom has been dozing off and on, she slept til nine, I ran to Barrie and I bought fabric for settee set, bit on bright side but that is ok.
Started my settee, now that I’ve got it started I’ll work on it, think I’ll do one more cushion..didn’t realize just how bad of a shape these were, of course they are left out in the elements, might be 5 years old
I saw a little Maltese/Poodle cross this morning in a quilt shop... oh my... she stole my heart! Good thing she wasn't up for adoption or I'd be fighting with my better judgement about the wisdom of getting a dog!!
I got a massage this morning and feel sooooo much better. It's stupid that I put this off, it's paid for. I have a membership that I pay for every month that entitles me to one a month and then more at discounted price. I can't book an appt from my office and that is part of the barrier. I booked out SEVERAL more appts. The best thing is I don't lose it if I don't use it that month, it rolls over or I can have someone else use it.
I hope to get Kevin's wall hanging done today so it can greet his guests for RPG tomorrow.
I've had the exercise bike since Thursday night and I've been using it. I think it's going to be a good choice for me. Wish I had a better place to put it but, hey, I can't complain! It's more convenient than the gym after work. I'm getting stronger, building stamina.
Moruing, looks dull out this morning, looking like rain although they say it will be 61 and sunny..
I’ve a busy day ahead, mom is still sleeping but says she will head home this morn8ng, com8ng back to look after Ziggy in a few week while I’m going on my mini roadtrip..think she enjoyed being away, know Bella did, even Ziggy isn’t taking offence to her.
Glad Pat you are looking after you...
I’m off, on a mission today..going to sugar bush for a bit see my godson, would like to recover at least 2 more pillows..
Need to embroider a Marshall, paw patrol pillow insert for Linda
So busy day ahead..wouldn’t hurt to bring the 2 piles of branches mom did.
Well best I get a start on my day..no use just sitting here enjoying a coffee with Bella by my Sadie. Lol
Glad to hear Ziggy is getting along with bella.
Where all are you going on your vacation?
Thanks for the info on the roast Karen 👨🏻🍳. It's 4.5lbs, so I am going to do 5hours on high.
Lorna's Mom is doing well usual aches and pains, her back and knees are quite arthritic, but she's pretty sharp, 89th birthday this Monday 😳
Lorna is doing well. Will be going back to work soon. Her right knee, her only knee, needs replacing, kinda scary as she has the 2 blood disorders.
The 3 dogs are ok. Piper is on insulin twice a day, and a special diet, which I now have them all on as Lilly, the oldest, has kidney disease. 😞
Zoey is doing well, just itchy ears.
DH is trying to keep up to all the snow run off, and we are expecting lots of rain today.
As for DS .. haven,t seen him nor his since Sept 17!
Best boogie

Good Day
Cold is getting worse - settling into my chest, have laryngitis and fuzzy head.
Going back to bed
Sounds like a trip to the MD is needed Susan.
Happy birthday to Lorna's Mom.
Sorry to hear about your fur babies not doing well. Good luck to Lorna 8f she has to have surgery.
Pat, I agree. Susan, don't let that settle. Into your chest, or you will be a lot worse. Get to an urgent care please.
What can urgent care do? My hospital is in ThreeHills, and the pharmacies are closed on Sunday, although the hospital can dispense meds, of course.
I dunno - just feeling lousy. It's been years since I've been sick, so it feels worse, I suppose.
Either one can give you a shot to get you started on meds.
Pretty!
Oh LK the roses made me smile. And Pat I am very envious of your gorgeous blooms. I still have some banks of ice and snow.Although the rain has helped melt some of winter away.
Rainy here today but it is supposed to warm up this afternoon. I was able to spend a couple of hours outside yesterday spending quality time with the leaf blower. Underneath the piles of leaves there was solid ice so at least now if the sun ever shines the ice will melt faster.
Friday I went to Ottawa to a large craft show with some friends. I used to do the show for years. There were 180 artisans and this was the first time I had visited as a customer.Good time.spent lots of money but it was worth it.
Hope you are feeling better Susan.
Stay safe and well.
Good morning,
Rainy morning here too Dianne. We need it so I won't complain. Snow is all but gone in parking lot mounds.
Linda those roses are so pretty, love the color. I am itching to get in the yard.
Susan, I hope you get to the doctor today. Feel better before you get pneumonia again.
Betty, where are you.
Debbie
Afternoon all..Lordy missed posting this morning..was busy busy then the girls came.
Raining here today as well, hoping it melts the last of the leaves, yikes Dianne what kind of blower do you have that moves wet leaves? I’ve one of those electric ones, doesn’t do much..oh wow, sounds like a lovely craft show, wish I could find spring ones to go to as the November ones you have to contend with possibilitupy if snow storms..tell us what was the most spectacular craft you saw..
Debbie, is there a spring sale in Hamburg?
How is Shannon?
Love the garden photos, right niw we can only dream..you keep showing rose bushes I’d die for, as soon as I can I’m going to seek out one that is an easy grow for along my arbor and name it in honour of you gals
Susan, off to the doctors gal...
Mom just called, junior or youngest brother who took aunt Muriel home to recoup is in hospital with pneumonia, must be bad for them to admit him..Laurie his wife must be in a tizzy, doing open houses to sell their property, looking after aunt Muriel and now her hubby...mom says the trip really tired her out and she can’t come back up, not expected I’m sure.
Girls were here this morning, we had a lively chat, mead lunch then sat to visit with you, Ziggy is beside me sleeping, so want to put my head down as well but that would be the end of the day for me.
I’ve so much I could and want to be doing, like working on patio set cushions, make the 2nd pillow insert for Linda as she is coming to do make them tomorrow, would like to play with making a Floridian Santa to see if I like them or not, list goes on and on.
Betty, you missed the sale by about a week...maybe 2. I will keep eyes open for next one.
I haven't gone in a couple years now.
Drafts,wouldn’t you know..
Happy birthday to Lorna’s mom...thought maybe this year Lorna wouldn’t go back to work, retire she would but guess doesn’t know the words ‘relax’. Do you get to see the grand baby “M”? Sounds as though Gord is feeling better..full time job making trenches for water flow,so far it’s melted in such a way I’ve not had to trench, best I not talk too soon.
Betty, I get my rose bushes at Walmart when they are on sale for $5.00. Usually around Mothers day.
Dianne, glad to hear you got out for a while to go to the craft sale. Please tell us what you found.
♫♪Happy Birthday to Lorna's mon♪♫
I'm starting to feel better - chest doesn't hurt anymore.
Debbie - I've never had pneumonia. Bronchitis, yet, but not pneumonia, thankfully.
Once, when I had a heat attack, the paramedics thought it was pneumonia, but that's the closest I've come. Right now, my voice is raspy, so still have laryngitis, but I'm resting, and drinking lots of hot liquids, NeoCitran included.
Hope everyone's doing well - sewing issues & beautiful blooming roses!
the photos I showed of flowers were PAST years, no show here yet! But it's coommmmiiiiinnnnnggg! I have ONE little bunch in bloom, right under the water run off from the house.
Sewing machine needs to go in for repair so best I get on it before they close.
Oh Pat you had me all excited !! I should have realized it was too early for you. Debbie got me all excited too with her post of flowers on FB.
Betty, you Debbie and I are under threat of a snowstorm on Thurs. Will winter ever end ??
LK there was so much to see I could have spent hours there. Sure was different being on the other side of the aisle. I went to my favourite jeweller Mark from Delicate Touch. I was looking to replace a ring that Warren had bought me from Mark about 20 years ago. It's in Verona dump. It flung off my hand when I was throwing garbage out of the truck. I didn't realize it was gone until I was almost home. Mark doesn't make that one anymore but I did find a lovely gold and turquoise ring that has a Celtic flair. Jeph Bailey Brown one of my favourite potters was there so I added to my collection. I got 2 pasta bowls with dragonflies in the middle. Jeph's pottery is made up of pastel colours. Passed on some great woven placemats made in Newfoundland but I sure wish I hadn't. Jen, 1 of the people I was with bought an amazing leather person from a Montreal artisan. It is beautiful. Jen and her mom also bought some earrings from different jewellers. Of course I got some candy made by a a fellow that has been on the show circuit for years. He only does 5 shows a year.
My leaf blower is electric Betty but it is really powerful. In fact it is more powerful than my gas powered one.
Stay safe and well everyone.
lol Pat you had us all going! I talk to so many in the US that have full-blown blooms, I was ready to believe you were one of them! We have our grass greening up, and some yarrow growing. Inside I have geraniums that have buds, and the tomato plants do too - some flowers. have a lot of buds too. Can hardly wait. We're going to make a lot of changes to our yard - make it more private.
Morning, woke at 2:30 and couldn’t fall asleep so up and at it.
Finished 2nd embroidery giraff insert for Linda, likely she she will be here by 8 and ready to get her reading pillows done.
Having my 2nd cup of coffee, waiting for my wash in dryer to be done, dishwasher, need garbage to curb... am hoping to try and get an hour’s rest before Linda gets here..
Girls come at 9
As you can see I’ve a busy day ahead..
Will have to be on the watch for them LIndakay, never find them for $5 though.
I'm up too Betty. I fell alseep about 10:30 and woke to Jimmy Kimmel. I've been up ever since. Going to be a long day.
That it will, organized for all he girls, tired of coffee so having hot chocolate.
Linda just called, she knows the area, darn she is lost, shaking my head.
Not sure if I posted this but thought it might interest you Dianne, article on Rita’s brother..he now lives just north of parry sound.
https://www.parrysound.com/community-story/9209682-wildlife-artist-marc-de-groote-s-awesome-life-in-nobel/
WOW!!! Great article and his art was stunning!
Betty I agree with Pat. Great article ! I've seen his work in person but I can't remember where. Thanks for sharing.
My cleaning lady is here so the TH and I are downstairs. It is a mix of rain and wet snow out there so none of us want to go for a walk.
I am not happy at thought of snow. My crocuses are blooming gold and white, daffodils opening. Leaf buds on lilac.....and tulips up some 4 to 6 inches
The wind is howling big time.
Dianne I remember seeing the pottery, it is beautiful. Loved the artisan work when I visited. Picked up earrings for girls and myself. Loved them
Beautiful article and art work. He is talented.
First time today I’ve sat down, have someone dropping in a 3:30pm as they are passing thru, I could so have a nap, been a long time up, s8nce 2:30, worth it though, everyone went home happy, especially LINDA, she did her 2 pillows and two little froggie.
Rain here as well, when the girls came this morning the deer were in the garden, just got back from foodland, bought a bag of apples to feed them then I started to think, if I encourage them now perhaps they will visit once my flowers are out and I won’t be so happy!
Those bags are so cute.
Maybe feeding the deer, will keep them out of your garden? Just kidding. Don't feed them. They will find food. You might want to think about getting chicken wire to keep them out of your garden.
Morning all, imagine a light sprinkling of snow last night and mire to come tomorrow, shaking my head...
So quiet here this morning, with a gang yesterday and so much going on I sit having my coffee and can virtually hear the clock tick, of course not having tv on makes it all that much more quiet.
Last night Ziggy was in back room looking out of the patio doors, I went to look and see what she was looking at,didn’t see anything but I gazed over the fencing, and could only see a bit and all I can say is thank goodness I put a fence up, garbage city over there.first thought was just how aggravated I’d be, madder than heck sooo it was money well spent.
I’m sure LIndakay the deer will move on to a more forestrated area soon. I’ll eat the apples and tell them how good they were.
Nothing really going on today, will try and get the throw I’m quilting with pantogram off the frame, maybe a cushion back and just relax.
How about you???
Some people need to "color inside the box", others don't. I am not surprised that the pantogram cramped your style Betty. I am sure that your free motion is much better!
Got my 2 miles in on bike, cooking up chopped apple to mix in oatmeal and then off to work soon. I would LOVE to get a little 10" bunny block cut out this morning before I leave for work, we'll see. There is a quilting group that I heard about that is open to everyone 3rd Thursday of the month. The store passes out a free pattern & the some of the fabric you need to create the block of the month. On that Thursday, everyone turns in their one block and a drawing is held for ALL of the blocks. Clerk said there are usually bout 50 people there & door prizes. I'm going to do my bunny block and go!
Getting ready for quilting group today.
Pat, that would be awesome if you can find that group. Let us know how it goes.
That sounds exciting Pat,what a unique thing to do..
Yep, not bragging but for the amount of time it takes to line up,quilt I’d have it done..will trace one aspect of the pantograph, put it within my vision and mentally copy it, amsure id do ok
Enjoy your day LIndakay..
Will make coffee and head downstairs
Good morning everyone.
The sun is trying to shine but it is still around 32*F. Light dusting of snow here overnight too. Tomorrow and Friday look like terrible weather days. I am going out today so I don't have to do so then.
Not sure what I am up to today other than getting the TH out for a big walk. Neither the TH or I are bursting with energy this morning but getting outside for an hour or so will help.
Oh LK someone in a Rotti group I belong to had their momma Rotti give birth to 10 puppies in Del Rio. Good momma and the pups look strong.
Stay safe and well.
I've not had much luck finding a group close to join, most in area are nearly an hour away. This is not a really small town I should think there would be more people close by.
Karen, then maybe you should start one like I did years ago...
Same weather here Dianne, thought I might go out pick up branches but just opening the door for Ziggy to come in and out is enough to say won’t happen..wind and dampness would do me in.
Girls want to do an ‘oh Canada pillow’ seeing as I had some kits, now I need one opals I’m looking for the one I did a few years ago but I must have given it away..
Oh well....
