I have never heard of that bacon.

As it was created in Toronto, I'm not surprised, LK

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, sunshine day again today, mid 70’s with a breeze...left windows open last night and it was 66 when I got up this morning brrr

Expecting Andrew to set in last of the fence boards, really it’s just closing in where the tree limb comes out, really I guess I could have let him cut it but likely more work cutting the limb and disposing if it then cutting wood to fill in its space.

I’ve a car load of mulch so will put it in backgardens and work my way forward. Once Andrew leaves I can start with trying to dig up some of the larger tree saplings in the gardens and set them in that flatten area they needed to work in with equipment.

That ought to take care of today..

Was looking at the calendar, omg we are almost mid month, won’t be long and it will be our July 1st and your July 4th..big celebrations for both of us. Our community celebrates weekend before, make a big deal out of it, done weekend before as not to compete with larger towns in the area.

What is on your agenda today?

Off to have peameal on a bun, might even add a slice I’d cheese..

Verona, ON

I always smile when I hear peameal bacon. Eons ago as it was on the radio not TV heard George Benny say he wanted Canadian bacon. Gracie was gone for days and he didn't know why. When he asked Gracie after she got back where she went her response was to Canada to get Canadian bacon.

Obviously got a deer fly bite yesterday. My left foot is twice it's size..... I can't even get my crocs on. Thinking I will not do much today except for a few things inside. It's weird with deer fly bites - I feel the bite at the time but it doesn't start to get red and swell until about 12 hours later. If I walk on it too much the redness and swelling will move up my ankle to my shin.

Deb how was the dog show ?

Karen hope you had a great birthday weekend.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Take care of that bite Dianne.

Still working on my Christmas blocks, one more group to go, and they will be done.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ouch, Dianne - I wonder if the deer fly got irritated when you stepped on it and that's why it bit you? Hope you squashed it good! That's a particularly tender spot to get a bite, under your foot.

I'm off to Coffee time @ the seniors' centre

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is too funny Dianne, those two were quite the pair...on my Sirius radio I sometimes on older channel get their show and I still am in stitches as they are just too funny!

Yikes, you must be highly sensitive to their bites Dianne,do you have something to take? You will be indisposed for a few days I’m sure, why oh why couldn’t it be on rain days.

Well the fence is done, willmiss andrew and his boys..took him 3 days longer, wouldn’t charge extra for labour, I really felt back so gave him a quilt..kind of bartering is t it..added up my bills, still cost when done $5,800.+quilt. Sooo love it though!

I got 6 of the 18 pavers done, digging them up, levell8ng them then sett8ng back 8n, they are 24x24 so heavy, back is aching so will not do many more today, tomorrow is another day..

Keep thinking about the bags of black mulch and pavers in the car, should be done today but not sure it will happen.

I’m excited about the Xmas blocks lindakay, will use the blocks from the gals in a project for me. The other day I found those birdhouse blocks and though I must get them sewn into a project, will try once I finish the quilt I’m now working on

Up I go or I’ll be here all day

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ooooooooh a quilt for labour? I think I'll come visit you, Betty, and you can put me to work lol

The electricians have just left - apparently we had 2 issues, the electrician who installed the electrical in the first place crossed lines & I had "priority" on the side my computer's on, and the other side of the room lost power & couldn't get it back because it didn't have priority. Minimal power = Susan gets it lol
Anyway, didn't cost as much as we thought, and maybe we can get it back through SHARP

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad you got it fixed Susan. Crossed wires can be dangerous.

Betty, please don't over do the bending and lifting. Down here, we could have had 2 or 3 fences for that price. Fence boards are about $2.00 a piece.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Fence boards here, pressure treated of course is $5.85 and 13% tax
Doesn’t take long when you are close to 140 ft and you double side boards

Glad it didn’t cost you a whole lot to fix your hydro problem susan

Wish you had a home depot closer.

Betty, the photos of your yard look beautiful! Please, don't overdo it with the pavers!

The dog show was nice, got to visit with friends. Pups showed well, they placed well in their classes, but that was it. Glad I didn't enter Sat or Sun shows because it poured rain all night Friday, and again on Saturday nights. Yard was under water for a time. Pups are now filthy dirty!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yikes - dirty pups lol
Glad you had a nice visit with friends, and the pups showed well (before the mud lol).

It wasn't so much crossed wires, and something else that was "crossed" (not the right word), but it wasn't dangerous and easily fixed.

Betty - please don't overdo. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will your yard be. Enjoy the journey, don't expect the end to be the only destination. (not wording it correctly, but you get the idea).

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not over doing it, pacing myself

Deb, glad the dogs did well, worth the trip for sure, dirty dogs come with showing outside.when is your next show?

Lindakay, needed 1”x6”x8 feet..fence is 7 feet high so they had to cut in some areas almost a ft off..of course they don’t sell 14 footers where you could just cut in half..our Home Depot, was cheaper at Timbrr mart

Getting ready to do out and close umbrellas, turn off sprinkler

Lordy I found about5 unplanted hypertufa pots I made, have a few chicken/hens that I put in them, small bits of succulent, now I’ll have to add succulents on my list

Are you back outside? That is not resting.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

sure it is......... when she sits down in her secret garden lol but then that leads to more work IN the garden. Betty - we know your secrets lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, could reach 80 today then rain tomorrow so saving any housework I have till then and I’ll get to sew lol

Didn’t do much, one bag of mulch, girls come today, always fun having them drop in..

Drats I fit to learni cannot eat a full meal, last few days I’ve ended up not feeling well, again last night so snack for me.

Off to make a bowl of fresh fruit before I have to throw fruit out, set out garbage then coffee, by then the girls should be here, they only stay until around 12-1 so leaves me the afternoon to do more outdoor work.

Greg dropped in last night, liked the fence but thought my putting it 2 feet on my property was giving neighbor 2 ft, said I’d like to think of it as having 2 feet I can tell him not to put things against..As for keeping tree limbs he couldn’t understand the reason, not particularly a tree guy or flower guy just like his dad, ended up telling him they were my choices and he agreed and said it was all I hoped it to be and would give me the privacy I want and no complain8ng about neighbours yard!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Just to let you know, I am on my way to San Antonio, for my granddaughters graduation. I will be back home tomorrow afternoon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Safe travels Lindakay, so envy you, how I love San Antonio, the river walk...big sigh
Congratulations to your granddaughter, quite an occasion and milestone in her life.

Speaking of memories, as I walked through the gardens today everywhere I see works of art that many here on Dave’s garden sent, makes me smile as I know my friends are with me in the gardens

Omg I bough a hosta a year or so ago, cup and saucer I believe but it’s humongous, about 3 feet high..will have to divide them and many more need dividing as well..in the side garden off back bedroom patio they are so big that you can’t see the rock water feature Joyce and the girls brought me a few years ago..I’ll likely move them somewhere this week so we can see the bubbler.

Very pretty out there but so much more to do

I’m caught up this morning chores, waiting for the girls

In the meantime I’ll have my coffee and a bowl of fruit, come join me, enough for all..

Girls just left, ann came for a visit then as they were leaving Suzanne came for a visit so full morning..was just thinking of ordering poutine from next door, tummy is hungry..then have a nap and head into midland

Eyes are getting heavy and back is saying, feet up and rest

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope you got some rest. Graduation is at the at&t center, close to the Riverwalk. We are staying at a haunted motel, right on the river walk.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ahhh how much fun is that..Suzanne was here and we were talking about San Antonio and the Riverwalk, our day with you!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Nice, LK - enjoy the grad, I know your granddaughter will! That River Walk sounds nice and relaxing. Wish we could all join you. What makes the hotel haunted? Maybe one of my ancestor's ghosts lol
Betty - do you still have that "destinations/location" post with miles to everyone's home? Now, with my move, you'd have to change it to Torrington lol
Feeling good getting some of my crafts done - finally recovered Bob's favourite oversized couch pillow. It was in 70's fabric. He likes the feel, doesn't care what colour it is. Did Not match anything in our living room - orange, green, brown......... yuck! Now it's one colour - tan.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all..will be in 70’s today but very humid, think it’s time to turn a/c back on, was enjoying having windows open and fresh air. Sky is heavy, rain on its way so likely an inside play day, not sad about that as I’ve mega pressurein lower back, don’t mind though when I look at the gardens I think it’s worth it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

What is your weather like Dianne, much the same? Boulders get delivered?

Seems you like I susan have difficulties just sitt8ng lol bob appreciates your recovering his soecial pillow even though the covering may not be same texture.

Lindakay was the graduation last night? Photo’s please.

Deb are you over your trip yet, energy to do another?

Drats went to put birdseed in the front feeders off front deck so I can watch the birdies, forgot I had opened the bad, what a mess on the floor, finishing up my coggppffee then it’s vacuum time.

Well better not sit too long or I’ll be tempted to spend the day on the couch

Victoria Harbour, ON

So much for feeding the birds

Last weekend's show was only an hour away, this weekend is maybe half that distance, then it's a couple weekends off until the next shows.

It's been so damp and humid here. Yard is still muddy from last weekend's rain. Now, they're predicting mid 90's by Sunday, and the show is outside. We'll see how long I hold up in that!

The haunted hotel sounds interesting, Linda Kay! Any sightings of any ghosts while you were there?

Victoria Harbour, ON

It’s great Deb that many of your shows are local, seems every time sharon goes and outside, Lordy that won’t be fun..do they at least have tents?

When we were at place d’armed hotel in New Orleans they told us there was a young lady who walks the halls

Lyndonville, NY

Happy Birthday Linda Kay! I hope you enjoy day and your GD graduation.
I would love to see the hotel.

Waiting for rain here, been promised for a week. Sky is black, had drizzles over night but not much accumulations.

Love the pictures and fence Betty!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

♪Happy Birthday, Linda Kay!♪

yeah, Betty - I do have some trouble with sitting. Apparently that's why my feet started to hurt (Plantar Faciitis). Most often caused by overuse, the PT said. When I had to get back to walking after my knee surgery, I overdid it she said. Well, "damned if you do, and damned if you don't" eh? Oh well. Now I have some exercises to do - spread my toes (WHAT? Asked when I'm supposed to develop webbed feet lol or do I learn how to curl my tongue, too?!), exercise my arch with the balls of my feet and the heel on the floor and raise my arch (see comment about curling my tongue...... can't do it lol). Well, there are things to learn how to do. Apparently people can do this.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Was cooler out early morning but sun is out now so am sure it will warm up..say 66 today, with the wind will feel much lower.

Didn’t sleep at all last night, tummy acting up again, just got up for juice and crawled back into bed

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope you are feeling better soon!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Feel better, Betty!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

How are you feeling Betty?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, sunshine day, high of 72but rain for next few days so must get out and get some work done..

After spending all day in bed I’m feeling a lot better, tummy not greatest so just made pudding, jello and I’ve applesauce, that ought to do me the day.

Are you home lindakay? Any pictures?

Drats, put out feeders for birdies, if it isn’t squirrels eating up the seed it’s black birds..grrrr

I put up the window on the fence the other day, moved a few hostas, maybe I can add a few more plants and add mulch, if I do that I’ll feel like I accomplished something...then mowing before ra8n tmr.

All I got was a picture of Kailey at the house before graduation. We were sitting high in the nosebleed section, and could not get a good picture. She said she felt like Jude Judy. Sorry they are sideways.

Sideways ad out of focus but I can see the joy in her, mshe is as beautiful as her grandma!!

Just cut a bit of grass, Lordy it’s hot, humid and skitters are having a hay day..think I’ll go out after and finish the grass

Jamie fixed the self propelled lawnmower so used it for the areas that were hard to cut with rider although possible. I’ll take rider and have him fix undercarriage, part of it seems to chew up grass..he must be working out of town, haven’t seen him all week, he left the push mower near my car, could have been there for a few days.

Taking mega breaks, best I get to the mulch

Lovely photo's Linda Kay, even on their side! Beautiful young lady!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, they are not out of focus....get yourself laying down, your eyes are out of focus!!!
That worries me miss!!!

Im here, and a little miffed. Got a "cpap" machine last night. About drowned I am sure. I think I need a different mask. The one that just blows into the nose is not going to cut it because if you open mouth at all....the air shoots out and I feel like Darth Vader!!!
