Betty, I am not traveling. Kris is on a 3 day week end to go see her Grandson.
I love that fabric you bought for curtains.
Sharon, you have been bust cleaning all those pots. I love that bloom. We are still getting light frost, so no blooms here yet. Sure hope Vern is feeling better soon.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? visit with friend old/new..please join us..
Lind, when I get in the gardening "zone", I just do not stop. Vern's son is coing over tomorrow to send a few hours with him so I can garden a little. I am going to transplant some succulents and do some propagating.
Betty - I say "awhile ago" because it's Feb, and that was Nov :-) It seemed then that you no longer got home than you were right back in the hospital. It's been about 2 months now, so I'm thinking it's a good thing! Sure don't want you having both medical issues at the same time - that would be hard on a body, not that sciatica is anything to "sneeze at"!!!
Morning all, wearing a happy smile, although they say more snow I don’t have to go out and shovel this morning..hurrah
Lindakay don’t know why it said on fb that she was travelling with you, I must have read wrong. Speaking of travelling, any plans on visit8ng with your sister in Michigan?
Susan I’m just being a baby..
Sharon, how wonderful, 2 outings with Vern..has he decided to take his meds again, know you were fretting with that..can’t believe all the beautiful succulent flowers, there are very few succulents we can grow here. Bet the pots set out throughout the yard is very eye catching.
This year ibe a lot of hosta dividing to do..going to ask the yardsman if they can edge all the gardens while cleaning them out.
Finished coffee so should start on making drapes..not a lot of work as the bottom is scalloped..
What are you all up to today?
Know sharon will be out in her gardens enjoying good weather.
Betty, I think she tagged several people, just to let us know she was traveling.
Betty - we're all allowed a bit of babyhood now & then, no matter how old we are :-)
It's sunny out, but still have a lot of snow. Good thing I like painting. I've painted the sink alcove in the bathroom, and now going to paint a wall in the bedroom. This particular wall had a hole cut in it by "some people whose names will not cross my lips nor fingers", and it had to be patched. Now, it's time to paint. Have a nice soft yellow that will go with the rest of the room. I like having multiple coloured walls that go together, in a room. Heck, it can be contrasting, and I'm fine with that, too!
Poor Bob - he doesn't know for sure what's next on the home repair/reno, but I'm working right alongside him, so he's ok with stuff like that - we're a Team, he says. :-)
Snow, snow and more snow..
I went out the lane and it was iffy. The township roads were not in great shape either. Hwy #38 is not too bad but I wouldn't want to drive a long way in the shape it is.
Just had to go out and see what books had arrived from Amazon. They won't come down the lane on a good day in he summer let alone now. Plus the TH needed treats.
Ziggy is quite the character Betty..
Susan are you getting the snow like Betty and I are getting ?
Smacked my foot into the frame of the bed. Broke my baby toe and the one next to it. I taped them together as they don't do anything for you at the doc's.My foot is quite a colourful sight.
Stay safe, warm and well'
Dianne and her TH
We cross posted Susan.
I am glad for you that you can work along side Bob. Warren once hit me in the head with a hammer when we were renovating a house. He didn't mean to and it wasn't a hard knock. We were in opposite sides of a closet.
OUCH on the toes. Praying they heal quickly.
Betty, I am going home this spring, I just don't know when yet. But it will most likely be for just a long week end. Hard to leave the dogs here in the house, when Todd is working all day.
Snow snow and more snow as well again Dianne, just going to get ready and give it a quick shovel..omg you are hard on yourself, you must be in mega pain..did you do it today? Imagine tomorrow it will be worse..yes, Ziggy is a character, they know when they have been mischievous, cuddle next to me on the couch. Hope you don’t have to go out for the next few days, calling for much the same..
Wasn’t easy for me to work with Roger either so pleased to hear you can susan..I was Rogers boss at the municipality, wasn’t good 🤣
Ohhh did you get books?
Got the curtains done, no like..not sure what it is with that room but I’m go8ng to keep the door closed lol
No time then lindakay to meet up in frankenmuth..
For those of you thinking snow and frigid temps are no fun my jeff just posted a video (wish so I could put it on here..he is out winter camping
Has his hammock set up, stove to warm his timmies, can’t live without timmies..I just shake my head, so do not like him going on his own.
Braedon called, he is going to Germany on the exchange for May and June, very excited..taking his camping gear and will travel a few countries as well while there..also am not happy about his trek on his own
I did get out and cleaned 4 pots. Cleaned with 2 different wire brushed and a lot of elbow grease. I sat in a low chair and did all three on the driveway. the other one was near the top of the driveway. This will probably be their last rehab and they will need to be replaced. Starting to crumble. I am going to do a search to see what I should use to maybe seal them. They are close to 10 years old.
Betty, Vern stopped for taking his pills for 2 days and then he started taking them again. Everyday it is something different. But then again the same. Ground hog day every day. I mostly just go with the flow but try to keep up with everything. Having landscape help and housekeeper helps alot.
Sharon - Peanut looks a little bored. Or maybe Peanut doesn't approve of your gardening style...... one can never really tell with cats lol
Morning all,
Weather warning on for possible ice drizzle/freezing rain, glad I went out and got everything done on Friday. Doesn’t bother me to be inside days on end as I’ve always something to do.
Sharon, peanuts supervising your work much like Ziggy deism but Ziggy gets into mischief, does peanuts? You probably would be best sealing new pots vs older pots that are decaying..
Susan, you have winter wonderland as well, lots of shovelling for Bob..
Soon time to get out of Jammie’s, think I’ll play with these st patty fabrics before his day has come and gone..
also want to do a few pot holder mug rugs as gifts, need to get out for chocolates
Guess the name of the game is ‘just play’ today, how about you?
Sharon, I often wonder what is it with cats and containers? Mine doesn't do that but he's a very different critter. He comes when called and sleeps right in the middle of our bed. I put a small rug there as the spread is white and new. As soon as I sit in my chair, he leaves the bed and insists I give him some cuddles.
Betty one of my grands has the urge to wander about Europe. I usually get told after he's back home as all know I worry.. My younger daughter are returning from celebrating their 30th anniversary in Hawaii. SIL arranged a surprise renewal of vows for them on the beach. They sent back beautiful photos, even one napping beside a large sea turtle on the beach.
Sounds lovely Karen, 30years is certainly a milestone.
Ziggy goes from spare room to my bed at night, not sure how many times a night he finds the right spot. Lol
Know it’s great for the kids to travel before getting in work force but in today’s world you worry..heck, worried about Jeff out there sleeping in the wilderness last night, always makes me feel good when I hear they are home safe and sound.
Mom called me about 1/2hr ago, Brian (50) who lives with her for almost his entire life off and on went out yesterday afternoon, says he forgot his phone, never came home, she has in in hospital, murdered, jail and anything she can come up with, what a frenzy she is in..I tried to tell her, maybe he met a friend and decided to stay out..she said he never does that so its out of the norm..hasn’t called back so maybe she found him.
She is suppose to drive up tomorrow, spend night then go to her brothers for a week or so, snow had best stop or I’ll tell her to stay home.
happy birthday judy!!!!
Sent her birthday wishes as well..we sure do miss her..
Waving to you as well Liz, hope you and Kenny are doing well.
Got a lazy on, knew I shouldn’t lay on the chesterfield.
Happy Birthday, Judy!
"winter wonderland" eh? I wonder when Winter will END! We have another Extreme Cold Warning again for tonight. -25celsius now, going to -38celsius...... brrrrrr and then by Tues, it's going to be +2 celsius lol Mother Nature & the Weather Liars can't make up their minds!!
The wind howled all night long. Then around 10am it left and has not come back. Our high today was 57 but we have cloud cover so our low will be around 42.
I did get pots painted. I agree new pots would be better Betty but I had paint in the garage and I would have to go find new pots. They will last at least another year.
Peanut is nicknamed "Bitch". She hides behind a chair or door and waits for Boots. Then attacks her when she goes by. They are the same age and we got them rescue at the same time. They were best friends and now they are 3 and Boots is a bigger cat but Peanut is definitely the Alpha. Peanut also goes on our first walk and follows us around the greenbelt and back home. Boots just stays in the front landscape. I wanted them to be inside cats but Vern kept letting them out by accident and I finally gave up.
I read a report today on the upcoming weather. Because the Pacific Ocean is going to get colder, the weathermen are going to have a difficult time predicting the weather.
Should be an interesting spring.
Morning, warm up spell -9 with a feels like -14, no snow but just came in from shovelling last nights snow fall..banks are awfully high, hate to think of it when it melts, let’s hope it’s a slow process.
Sharon must be fun watching the cats playing (or not playing) lol pots look nice, now comes time to plant them.lyou could go to a hardware store or Michael’s and get cans of krylon finish to spray them before planting.
Think mom is coming up today to bring her cross stitch quilt for me to do around the flower area, she will spend night then go to her brothers about 50 miles north of here and spend the week.
Think now I’ve done outside work I’ll go downstairs and finish the St Patrick’s Day throw..
Sharon is at Westminster dog show in NYC, think her dog shows at 1 in non-sporting group..inuk has broken all American Eskimomo records, he is 10 now so even if he places she will be pleased..next year she will start showing another of her pups..
Betty, you've probably seen this. A nicely written article. Good luck to Sharon!
https://www.thestar.com/entertainment/2018/02/11/westminster-dog-show-has-strong-canadian-contingent.html
Good luck Sharon.
Betty I saw Inuk on CTV's noon news. Oh my he made my heart go pitter patter. He is 1 gorgeous beast.Westminister Dog show is on Nat Geo Betty. I have Bell. on Channel 524.
I am having a crappy day. Everything I have gone to do I couldn't finish. I have duct tape, masking tape and tape used to close boxes plus bubble wrap all over the dining room. Had to empty out 1 box... my Piaget was off so then I had to search for a new box. Grrrr.
Last night Sassy got into Chaos' crate and some how the door closed behind her. I could hear her meowing away but she does that about the same time so she can get 1 last treat. I glanced out the bedroom door and there she was in the crate. The way my day is going I might just get into the crate myself. It is huge like really huge so I could fit in.
I just saw results, Inuk was Best of Breed, again! Congratulations to Sharon!
Omg thank you, don’t get coverage and was waiting to hear,p..so excit8ng for her..such nice write ups..am sure she is jumping up and down
Oh thank you Deb, thank you all
Incredible honor! Highest achievement for a breeder!
There is a link on this page to breed judging. Video isn't posted, yet, but should be soon.
http://www.westminsterkennelclub.org/breed-results/?id=ESKM&season=2018
YEAH!!! Congrats Sharon and Inuk!
Congratulations, Inuk!! Oh my...... he's a real great dog!! And so tired. I'll bet he gets all sorts of loving & treats. One very happy lady, is your sister Sharon!
Doubtful he gets any treats, sharon has to give him needle twice a day re checking sugar levels and changing meds to accommodate.
Had company this afternoon, old friend dropped 8n, wouldn’t you know I was still in my Jammie’s, hang my head in shame..house was spotless but I looked like hell. Lol
Then sewed binding on St Patrick’s throw..few more days and I can set it out seeing Valentine’s Day pieces canbe put away.
at a "certain age" (and I fall into that category, cuz I wanna!), if you wear your jammies all day long, it doesn't matter! You're retired, and you can always say "it's laundry day" lol
Oh gosh - that just reminded me of when you were working - aren't you glad you're retired, Betty?
