Find it interesting that Iunk is diabetic. Both of my Samoyeds were diabetic. My GP when Ana was diagnosed combed through his drug books and found a human equivalent over $20 a vial cheaper.
Betty at least you had your PJs on... I float around with no clothes on.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? visit with friend old/new..please join us..
Lol, sleep in the nude but tend to be dressed even if only nightie as someone is slays dropping in..
She sure watches over his levels, love samoyeds
Lordy can’t stop sneezing, head a bit heavy, best I take something tonight.
oooooooh - there's a bunch of us that sleep as God made us......... welcome to the club, ladies! I once had JWs come by and as I had had a rough night sleeping (back before I had my 2nd knee surgery), I was in my jammies & housecoat. Another time, a politician came by "glad handing" before an election - same thing. Oh well, too bad, so sad LOL I dress the way I want to, in my own home. If I'm not expecting company (and don't often get any), why should I dress up?
Dianne - $20 cheaper for humans? Shows how much humans love their furries - won't think a minute before coughing up more for the furry's meds, and refuse to go to a hospital for Their care. Vets, however, get the royal treatment.
Sharon must be so proud of Inuk.
Afternoon everyone,
Cold out today but clear, no snow, excited about that..
Yes, am sure Sharon is very proud, omgpeople are vicious, this person wrote on her fb page
Isn't this the kind of person you'd be proud to have as a friend?
“Special thanks to the breeder's best friend Patrea Pabst are in order, for giving you the right genes! I'm Kato & descended paternally from the ONLY Siberian Husky in history to win at Westminster in 1980, CAN/AM CH. Sierra Cinnar from the world famous Innisfree Kennels of Chateaugay, NY. Time to give the other Eskies in the show world a chance & retire Inuk. Next time he will only get an Award of Merit. His time has passed. Stay home next year!”
Takes fun out of competing doesn’t it??
Girls were here this morning, going to have a rest, need to run into bank so will do a little later in the day so I can pick up ch8nese for supper, too lazy to cook, tomorrow joanne is coming to spend the morning, mom will get here about noon and the girls come to sew 8n the evening, long day for me..
omg - just because Inuk wins, she has to write a poison pen posting?
Today we're having a wee Valentine's Day party at the Library/Crafting. I baked a cake for it - frosted in DEEP pink, then I put 3 valentine's heart cookie cutters on the frosting, and poured tiny heart candies in. When I took away the cutters, it left the hearts shaped like a Big heart :-)
Shrove Tuesday .... who had pancakes?
Some people can be so rude.
Forgot all about it, went to town and did groceries and never thought about Shrove Tuesday...drats
Ash Wednesday tomorrow, wonder if our church has evening service
Susan, you did a fantastic job on the cake..kudos to you.
Lordy Lordy big time, just walking in the grocery store was too much for me today, so much pressure in back, pain now on righ side and tingl8ng left fingers, shaking my head..had hot bath, sitting with heating bad to my back hoping it and Tylenol 3 ease the discomfort.. was so uncomfortable didn’t want to go get ch8nese, ended up eating a frozen dinner.
I bought 6 lovely pork chops, found a recipe for slow cooker, thepirlchops, can of creamof chicken soup and package of ranch dressing..if it turns out 1/2as good as Joyce’s beef recipe then it will be yummy.
Ohh did I tell you Joyce, Sherry and Kathy will come to visit this spring, not sure of date yet. I’m just so excited
Dianne how’s are the toes?
I’m sure such a comment would frazzle Sharon, to bad there are some poor participants as is in any group.
Off to put my feet up
At crafting I found out about the Community Hall putting on Shrove Tues, so we went to the dinner, taking our neighbour Caol. She really enjoyed it, as did Bob & I.
I've got this song stuck in my head.......
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSxd9JVE3r4
Good Morning. Been up for awhile put letting the wood stove warm the house up.
I always found it odd that when we went to a Pancake Dinner at the church or some ladies' group there was always pie. As much pie as you wanted. Maybe because as a kid and in my teens I never ate dessert.
Deb when I was watching a news clip about Westminister the commentator mentioned that to show your dogs so they could get into this coveted show one would have to spend at least $150,000.00. I know it was expensive and I guess if you figure in travel expenses, hotels that would add up. Does that sound right to you ?
Toes are good Betty just annoying now.
Happy Valentine's Day
Dianne and her TH

Happy Valentines Day everyone,
Enjoyable day for some and not so enjoyable for us loners..I did make up some gift pkgs for friends who I know will drop in today..
Dianne, kniw for sure Sharon wouldn’t spend that kind of money, they must be including years of expenses, upkeep for dog, handler etc etc.. will have to ask Sharon what it cost justto pay entry fees..
Joanne is coming over this morning, have pork chops to put in slow cooker, hooe new recipe is yummy then mom comes around noon and girls tonight soooo busy day.
Best I get downstairs
WOW! That is a steep price to show ff your dog! Is there prize money?
Glad to hear your toes are on the mend.
At the very top, it might cost that kind of money, and in the years I've had a dog out with a handler, I might spend up to $3K or $4K for the entire year, but that's about it. I know in afghans, the woman who shows the top dog is a paid professional handler, and that dog is her only charge. She flies across country with him to all the big shows, so wouldn't be surprised if that dog's owners spend that kind of money. Her salary and travel expenses alone would probably be most of it.
There's usually no prize money, or minimal prize money, and the agreement with professional handlers is generally they keep any money won in the ring.
Sharon said some spend more to get their dog to #1 in U S A
Some handlers want 60k a year plusadvbudget
Entry to Westminster is minimal, less than a few hundred
Sharon said she only advin WKC magazine
Made it out the lane - the last 50' was terrible. But all the spots that could prove to be challenging on a good day were great. My personal part of the lane and the semi circular drive on the east side of the house are treacherous.
Bit warmer today but it is very windy.
Would imagine all the hotel/motel stays plus traveling expenses would soon add up. We stayed every year for a number of years at a motel and there was a dog show in the town as well as the Craft show. I'll take dogs over hockey parents any time. Plus the 1 place we stayed the parents were in 1 wing and the kids were in another. For someone who has to get up and work the next morning it was annoying. A couple of times Warren called the front desk to complain. Someone would come down and herd everyone back into their rooms but about 20 min later it started up again.
Looking forward to hear about your pork chop recipe Betty. I mailed off the first Insta Pot I got from Amazon to my sister's boys. Their living conditions are not the best so I decided rather than send the large Insta Pot back to Amazon I sent it to them. It was just way too big for what I needed. I ordered a smaller one so will try it out this week.
Susan I had never heard the song you provided a link to. I can understand how it would stay in your brain.
Need to find something to eat. I forgot to eat this morning. I had a list in my head that I needed to get done before I went into the village so was focused on that.
Stay warm, well and safe
Dianne
Dianne, it’s smelling yummy, not really a pork chop person but thought it worth a try.
Shaking my head, was just thinking seeing it’s Valentines Day I’d take mom out for Chinese, completely slipped my mind I put the pork chops on..I’m losing it. Lol
Really sunny here Dianne, doesn’t take long for snow to melt on drive and walkways then a few hours from now when it freezes up become slippery as old heck..
Sitting here, if I don’t move soon I’ll be in trouble, just know I’ll lay down and that will be it.
Have Lea soup wait8ng, gab in a bit
For those of us on our own, know it’s a special day and you are Loved!
Betty when I was in Foodland this morning a container of store made Chocolate Fudge Brownie cookies just jumped into my cart. Try them.
Betty - there are many kinds of love to celebrate today, Valentine's Day - loving yourself, and your friends is Certainly one of them - good on ya!
♫♪Happy Valentine's Day, everyone ♪♫
For those who find themselves alone (lonely), please know that you are loved by everyone here - we're a special bunch of loving peeps & I can feel your love everyday in your words, thoughts, gentle hugs & prayers. Thank you
Saddened by yet another school shooting in Broward County Florida..hate to say what I think of guns, typed it out and erased it..
Researched other countries, few is any school shoot8ngs
May the Lord find an answer to these shootings.
Those poor kids - just in school! So much potential, lost. Betty - I think you & I may both be able to "blue" the air with what we think about guns......
God must need more angels in heaven, badly. He certainly does not condone their lives being lost......... and the heartache of their families.
Guess it’s just Susan, schools were the safest place for your children to go, pack their lunches and know they are safe, Worse that could happen is name calling..
Can’t even comprehend what the families must be feeling.
So sad. They just announced 17 dead so far.
Sending prayers for all the families.
Drove mom back to Barrie as she saw thedrapes I made a d wanted the same..cnn was still on so as we came in it went to possible 2dead to 17,those poor families, losing their lives and possibly more to come..prayers for all
Ziggy is in trouble, this morning joanne visited, I moved a batting for a queen quilt on the floor near the Quilting frame and near door to my tool room, when Joanne was leaving we were talking about st Patrick’s, I mention about my st Patrick’s day arrangement, looked for it, went in tool room to try and find it, couldn’t, joanne left, later mom cam wondered where Ziggy went, went to look for him, here he went into back room, under the door was an open gap, few inches, justenough for him to try and get out but instead pulled in the batting, ripped it big time..there goes that quilt batting..not really his fault, partially m8ne
Dianne,
Update on pork chops..best I ever tasted and 8m not a pork chop person..bought the cutlets (not sure if that is what you call them, pork chops without bones) didn’t have to cut them, just fell apart and the sauce on potatoes, Lordy mom cleaned off her plate and a gave her a hungrymans portion.
So I’d give it a A+
I did not do much today. We did have a mild rain and it was cloudy the majority of the day. Our high was 54. Next week we are suppose to get the wind. That is what Feb. and March are, windy.
I cooked pork roast ribs, the portion just cut away from the roast. They are spectacular and one for me and one for Vern. I cook them in the instant pot with a little dry ranch dressing mix and a sprinkling of Au-Gus mix. They melt in your mouth and the gravy is fabulous. Of course, pork fat rules.
I am getting so many little items taken care of, I am very proud of myself. Get a roofer to fix a couple broken tiles from wind storm. Need a new gasket for KOI pond filter. Just PIB things like that. The pots are done an three are back in the flower beds No soil i them yet, but that was delivered today. I am also going to take cuttings of many of my succulents and get them started. I have to run copies of income tax forms that have been delivered by e-mail. I love how they stopped sending them in the mail and you get to print them.
The shooting in Florida is terrible. That is a very expensive exclusive area. Sound like a disturbed young man. Those children will be traumatized for years.
I have been cooking the frozen meat I have in the freezer. I will need to get out something for Friday. Betty, you have me thinking about pork.
You all take care. Hugs, Sharon
Bob & I went out for pizza tonight, and while there the news was on about the shooting in FL at the school. They were just announcing the 2 who'd died. And he'd tried to hide in with a bunch of school kids - didn't work. So many politicians are in the mix, helping them deal with this tragedy.
The pizza - YUM! It was quite a treat, as we haven't had pizza for months - maybe Aug 2017? Something like that. Anyway, it was Domino's (50% off), and they said "call ahead next time and as you're from out of town, we'll give you a further 20% off) WOW. It was a really great tasting pizza too. Large Extravaganza - $11.99. Bob told the guy (family owned franchise) that the pizza was excellent. I like telling people when they give good service. They hear the opposite, often enough.

Morningeveryone, springlike temps out there, lots of melting going on, winter is not over but it’s nice to have the feel of spring.
I’m having coffee, mom still not sure she wants to get up yet so I will go downstairs and quilt around the rose section she worked in so that she can take it with her when she leaves for her brothers...
Was thinking supper Dianne, excited about having leftovers..you must try porkchops
Morning all. All I hear is the sound of things melting. That's a double edged sword though. Tonight it will freeze and it will be a skating rink again.
Need to go out and throw some blocks of wood out onto the lane and then into the Escape. Before I bring the wood into the house I will have to split some.
Need the recipe Betty please.
BBL
Will be a skating rink for sure Dianne, be careful..
Recipe is beyond easy
Pork chops
Can of cream of mushroom soup
1 package ranch dressing
No butter. No water
OH NO!
The other day I was sewing and I had a bag of batting strips I was using by my side in a bag. I got up to take a potty break, and when I cam back, Luna got into the bag and was chewing the strips. I guess she thought it was a huge stuffed animal treat for her. Thank God she only ruined 1 strip.
Don't know what it is about material but I never known a dog that doesn't want to chew it. Diesel and Chaos will ferret out material or kleenex that you don't even know where it is.
The wood went much easier today. I figured out the easiest way to move it so I only have to move it 3 times instead of 5. The snow is packing snow and very slippery but once I got my footing it was fun. I know I am a crazy woman to say doing wood is fun. I have enough wood in the car port to get me through Sat maybe even Sun.
The TH are very happy they all have a Tartar Buster to chew on. Diesel loves them. The other do love it for the first 5 min then wander off.
Sharon it was good to see you post. It's great that Vern is wanting to eat. I had a terrible time getting Warren to eat the last 2 - 3 months. He would ask for something and I would make sure I made that but after 2 mouthfuls that was enough. Broke my heart as he was always a guy who loved his food.
Dianne

furries & material (of any kind!)...... what to do, eh? put it in a cupboard and duct tape it shut lol But then...... you wouldn't get it either! Ah well - guess in a way I'm lucky Not to have furries, but they're great company aren't they?
Went bowling today, and we'll officially be spares after this. Bob, on Tues, and both of us on Thurs afternoons. I have my Crafting Group & the Library here on Tues afternoon, so won't be joining him. Had a good time bowling today - I'm almost back to my old form - got 150, 124, 153. The 124 wasn't good for me, but the 150 and up is more my form. We'll see how I do later. It's been about 4 years since I've bowled, so I'm forgiving myself for not doing great, yet lol
Morning all, must have had some freezing rain because I see the lady across the street scrapping ice of windshield. Should go spray mine as Kyle is suppose to pick mine up this morning to have it serviced and finally the electric start put on.been waiting for that since June when I bought the vehicle, apparently GM had trouble manufacturing the unit and have now come up with a solution.wouldnt you know, it will be fixed once winter is almost over, better late than never right, will be ready for next year.
Susan, will be nice for you to get back into bowling, with all you are doing seems you’ve settled in and are part of community..that is exciting for sure.
Nothing to do except this afternoon at 4 I’ve an appointment at vets to have Ziggy’s nails clipped, return a blouse I bought yesterday for a smaller size, other than that just a play day.
5,10 or duck pin Susan ? I was in a bowling league from ages 5 to 16. I loved it. Haven't bowled in years and years.
Freezing rain is on its way here Betty.
I got up grumpy and can't seem to shake it. I think this dull, drab weather is to blame. I don't care how cold it gets to as long as the sun is shining.
Think I might make another foray to the wood down the lane before the freezing rain huts.
Dogs are still sleeping. I put them all out about 5:30 am and they came back inside ate a biscuit then plopped down to sleep some more.
Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today.
I was glad I bout that can of spray for deicing car windows, Kyle simply sprayed it on the windows and you could see ice break up..I didn’t send it your was Dianne, promise I didn’t..you be careful out there. With the cold weather we had are you running out of wood?
I was on a league with Roger and a bunch of workers, it was a few drinks before bowling, a few after amd was on a Monday night..didn’t take me long to drop out..wasn’t a good bowler anyway!
Found the tote with a few st Patrick’s Day decor, I’ve still some scraps and thinking what else I could make with them..maybe mug rug for the kids door St Patrick’s Day or another throw??
Can’t wait to get to Christmas tree store and pick up a few decorations..hoping they have Easter out as well as it soon will be here.
Went through patterns and found a tulip quilt design, going to look for fabric stateside for it
Have my wash done, vacumm8ng and dusting done time to play
Tummy said it needs more than coffee so best I make something to eat
Beautiful decorations Betty.
