Hmmm just thought of a spring wall hanging I started a few years ago, maybe I can go through my stash and find it and finish it..any of you have that little project sitting around you could finish?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I think the other issue is that Ben won't stay DOWN and that causes the swelling which sets off the chain reaction. When he's IN hospital he is laying DOWN. At home he is in the wheelchair.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

*Big Hugs* to you & Ben, Pat
Not sure what to say further.......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Where is everyone today?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm here - I was wondering the same thing, Linda
I'm working on some sewing, and currently making a beef stew with dumplings.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Barely getting home.... work, groceries, deliver pizza like Ben asked, unload groceries and go to bed!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

you must be exhausted, Pat! God Bless you & *Big Hugs*

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, are you sick and in the hospital again?

Pat, I don't know how you keep going? Please take care of yourself.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh my....... we haven't heard from Betty - wonder if she's ok!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

NOW they are saying Monday!! well at least they didn't say Sunday right? I have the mammogram scheduled on Monday so I know he is NOT getting out until I am done with that.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, up and at it, thought I’d go grocery chopping early but high wind and freezing rain tells me it’s a play day in the craft room.

Pat, best take advantage of them keeping Ben a few more days, Lordy they don’t keep him long, before long he will be back in for same.

Verona, ON

Freezing rain here too Betty. Ugh!!

Having a very quite weekend here. Although since I retired every day seems like the weekend.

Pat you must be running on raw energy. Please make sure you take care of yourself.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sun I see now shinning Dianne so think I’ll get dressed and go do groceries.

Dianne did you hear there has been some problems with instapots melting? Be watchful, am sure you are re the ice, can so easily break something if you fell...oerhaos you are lucky as I am, sun came out and didn’t take long to melt ..wow if it keeps this up there will be little snow for March 1st

They say ‘in like a lamb, out like a like a lion. Or in like a likn out like a lamb’ So we will see, call8ng for the lamb type of weather

Greg dropped in this morning to remind me supper tonight at his place for Noah’s birthday, almost forgot. Greg is booking flight to Newfoundland for snowmobile trip, he was all excited about that.

Best I get into town while sun is shinning!!

Happy birthday to Noah.

I have been in bed since yesterday. Sore throat, lots of coughing. Going to urgent care first thing in the morning.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh no, you’ve really not had a good winter health wise Lindakay ..

I got groceries done, great sales, I did not need half of what I bough, barely room to fit a feather in the refrigerator or freezers, I had better start cooking again. Stopped at staples and photo copied all my patterns and played cut out for solstice block 3..

Going to take pain meds, maybe nap for an hour then head over to Greg and Mel’s

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, high of 37todaybut 50 tomorrow, almostunheard of for February.
Had birthday supper atgregs last night for Noah’s birthday, all were crying re no snow. Greg was making a new sound system for his spider, guess he is getting ready for spring, Mel she amd Brianna we’re talking about the bookings they’ve made for camping, all anxious to get their new trailers out, so lots of gabbing going on.

Having company later this afternoon, not sure how longMarlene will stay but just incase I put a turkey in the oven..

Got a lot of projects I’d like to work on so much to keep me busy.

Must go over my list of ‘to dos’ seeing Greg and Jeff are coming Saturday to do them, need a few things so they can get them all done..love these work days. Lol

Lindakay you feeling better?

Karen, anymore news on renting?

Debbie, you’ve gone missing again, how are you feeling?

Deb, when next are you showing the dogs?

Sharon, did you have snow? How would that affect the gardens?

Susan, know you are keeping busy, how is your neighbor doing that just losther hubby?

Dianne, sure hoping you get this weather they say I will get this week, a reprieve for carryingmega loads of wood in

Pat, Ben coming home?

Know I’m forgetting someone
On the run

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am urgent care waiting to be seen. Hopefully some meds will kick this crud in the butt.
How is Noah doing?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hoping you get back on the road to feeling good soon Linda.
We were downstate for the week-end and Lolli's 1st birthday. I think the girls missed me, neither one wanted to leave my side or lap. Amelia didn't and slept all snugged up to me. Lolli finally fell asleep and went to bed, but was right back with me as soon as she woke.

Betty, we've given up on the idea of renting. As much as I wanted to, the thought of moving twice was too daunting. We did have quit a bit of interest in people renting this one. This will probably be our do or die summer. Either we will sell and move or if now I will just give up the idea and resign myself to staying here.

Of course the hospital discharged him Sunday.... the only day they DID NOT say they were going to discharge!!! He is home and things are not going very well. We have a major disagreement over what is the cause of this merry-g0-round and how he can help prevent it.
This is about killing me. His cognitive abilities are diminished and so he just can't accept what he has to do. Dealing with a 364 pound man with one leg, incontinence and cognitive disadvantage, NO paid help (we have lost our caregivers). I interview a woman tonight. I am praying for a miracle.

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning,

Betty I have been on the run non stop since DH had his surgery Feb. 15. Follow up appointments, my allergy shots, helping his Dad, Shannon had a dental emergency Thursday which took about 4 hours. And just now back from DH's follow-up from surgery. Had his cast removed and can return to work....on desk duty, next Monday. Tomorrow he has dental appointment for a crown replacement. Eggads I will have no hair lift.

Sad news as one of DS's friends passed unexpectedly. I don't know why...what happened, but we have known him and his family since he was about 7 years of age. Please keep good thoughts for my DS as this is about the 3rd one this last year.

Warmer weather off and on here. In 40s today and most of the snow is gone. Wind has not been friendly.

On a good point....swans are back.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats, just saw service master and a pod being moved into the yard a few door up on other side of street, guess a flood, poor people..

Debbie, bet you would welcome beingbored..so sorry to hear of the youngmans passing..remember well when my boys were in high school it seemed once a month they had a funeral, young ones..hugs for all.

Glad Paul got the go ahead to go back to work, know you will be doing thehappy dance and your life your own.

Karen, am sure they miss you terrible, how far did you have to travel to visit with them? Likely a smart decision re staying out and not moving twice

Heart goes out to you Pat, if things continue in this manner you will not be able to look after him, know you don’t want to hear it but at some point you will have to come first. Praying the individual you meet with tonight works out.

Lindakay, hope doc gives you good meds

Jim who works for Paul and call me every few days is in hospital, he had had thatvirus for over a week, his wife tried to get him to emerge but he wouldn’t go, doc visited him yesterday and had him go to the hospital right away..Paul will update
Apparently they are concerned, so many have passed with same.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, they are downstate, north of Detroit area. It's about 4- 4 1/2 hours drive. I know my son is enjoying them so much. He missed so much of his own children after his ex moved so far away with them. To finally have his son near by and a couple of the grands too is just making him so happy.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Pat - how did the interview with the caregiver go? I can't believe that you aren't getting more help - a man Ben's size is difficult for most anyone to move around, and your back's been bothering you......
Linda Kay - hope you feel better soon. *Gentle Hugs*
Happy Birthday to Noah!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all.

High of 54 today, unheard of, maybe I should plan a picnic for supper. Lol

Anxiously waiting like you susan to hear if pat was able to find help for Ben.

Not too farthen Karen, I was thinking you meant Nearer your other family where you want to move, was thinking that was quite a drive for you.

Marlene dropped in for a few hours yesterday afternoon, we planned out a pieces quilt she is going to do, then Greg and Mel came over for turkey dinner so was a busy day.

Noah goes for testing this afternoon as he has a lump under the nipple, don’t like to hear that! Here is hoping it's nothing.

Just packed up garbage, time to get it to the road then coffee and girls will be here, have a1:30 appt so there goes today, Lordy the days are just zooming by.

Won’t have to cook supper though as there are lots of turkey leftovers from last night.

Lindakay, you feeling better today?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, we don't have to "lift" him and he transfers himself but we have bend over him to bandage and push him in wheelchair to appts. Lift the wheelchair into vehicle.

Interview went OK but I have my reservations, 90 per month is not full time and I'm afraid she will be offered a different client with more hours and we'll be without again. She has to work off her 2 week notice with who she is with.

We'll already lost one caregiver before she even started! She said she'd start Monday and before Monday came, I called and texted etc and she finally told me that she accepted different client closer to home. It would have been nice to know that so I wasn't expecting her on Monday! Life goes on.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I sure hope you have a caregiver Pat. I went through that with my Dad when he was here. Not an easy task.

Betty, please keep us updated on Noah. Keeping him in our prayers.

I still feel like crap. My crud started out as a sinus infection. I went to urgent care yesterday, she gave me a shot of steroids and augmentin. Plus she sent me home with more antibiotics to take for 10 days as well as a cough syrup. She told me it would get worse, before it gets better. And it has. I went to bed last night, and had to get up and sleep in the recliner, as laying flat on my back makes me cough too much.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats Pat, so much pressure on you..hugs

Well let’s hope they are right lindakay and you are now starting the mending process.

Girls came this morning and surprise visitors

Ann, Alex a Addy..

Pat - glad you don't have to lift him, but you were saying whatever you have to do for Ben hurts your back, and that can't be easy. Yes, would have been Very nice for her to have let you know that she'd accepted another client, earlier than she did. 90 hours isn't much, stretched over a month. My neighbour was telling me that it would only be during the day, and that meant no going out in the evening to enjoy time with working friends or her hubby (when she was caring for her mom). Daytime care doesn't always give you quality time, although it gives you errand time. Not the same, really.
LindaKay - nice they let you know that it will get worse first, so you knew what to expect. Now, time to get better - prayers & hugs.
Betty - how wonderful that they all three came. Gosh, I remember when the twins were born - so much worry about their health, and now look at them! They're so sweet looking.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, Addy is afraid of nothing
Many heart operations and in hospital over a rear at birth has made her a fighter.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Little Alex does not look well to me. He has such DARK circle under his eyes. Was he a little under the weather when he came for a visit, or is that normal for him?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, sun trying to come out the comes snow tomorrow..

Pat they really have no color and think anemic, catch things very easily.

Had a busy morning, lunch time, will make the effort to put my 3rd solstice block together then have a nap..girls come tonight so want to be up for their visit.

Got two calls this morning, my cousin Doug who had cancer removed in his leg got good feed back, think they got it all.then randy called to say Lois, elderly friend I did supper with once a month is in the hospital, heart attack, will visit with her tomorrow, her hubby now had a room 8n a home for Alzheimer’s patients, feel badly for them.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yeah, Betty - I was going to say that Alex didn't look well, but didn't want to put a damper on things. I guess the Drs are looking after them well. Will they grow out of the anemia?

Slipped and fell on ice yesterday, on my 5-month old replaced right knee. It's sore, and stiff, but not swollen. I phoned Health Links last night, and the nurse suggested I get a Dr to look at it before 24 hours is up. I'm going this afternoon to Emerg.
Last night @ 9pm my internet went out, and I didn't get it back until our internet tech came out & fixed it today. Likely be a charge for that....... don't know how much. Day before they'd come out and replaced old equipment, and told us the satellite was aiming right through our new neighbour's peaked roof & was having difficulty. Today the tech said my internet card may be fried. In the meantime, we have switched Bob's old computer so I'm using it. Mine won't connect. Ah well, I'm here....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy Lordy susan, things were going so well and now this..
Hope all goes well at emerge
Hugs

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

At emerg I saw the Dr and she suggested x-rays. They said everything looks ok & I can go bowling tomorrow, but should keep an eye on my knee. It's pretty sore & stiff of course, but not swollen. A little puffy is all, and when the Dr poked it, oh yeah it hurt, but not needing to take pain killers. Dr said "you're tough!" She was surprised that I didn't need painkillers, but I don't take what I don't need.
