I have the Christmas quilt pieced, I am waiting on the backing to arrive to get it finished. When hubby gets home, I will have him hold it up for a photo.

((((Barb))) I can assure you the blood products are 99% safe. And they pre-medicate you beforehand with benedryl or such. My DD has had over 100 transfusions ...I lost track. AND DH gives blood/platelets plasma pherisis every 2 weeks here. He loves to get the "after sheet" which tells where his blood went to for most need. A transfusion will get your tank topped off and feeling better sooner.

Betty, no snow here at all...just high winds. We returned the rental car, he got a "new hood" from the junk yard, a fuse box and headlight casing for $200 all....and is driving his old car. We still have to pay $500.00 deductible for the rental car damage. Thinks will just have to wait.

I still have nothing up for Christmas. I have just the icicle lights on the porch and 2 bows. Keep saying to get myself moving but.....blaaaaah.

Trying to get some odds and ends off at the post office tomorrow also.

Hugs to all,
Debbie

My Santa Warren box is now on its' way!! Hope it doesn't take forever....
Thanks for the info Deb. Will keep it in mind.
On the last column for the cat. I'm psyched!!!

Debbie so feel for you and paul, glad you’ve a plan re vehicles..

Barb, I also have had blood transfusions.. blood goes through so many processes that I’m sure you would benefit from getting one.

Imagine Karen is close to Tennessee tonight if not having eats with family.

Rita is here tonight, gabbing away

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - so good to hear you're settling into a quieter time, and going to eat healthier. Has the Dr told you which foods irritate your system?

I went to a Red Hatter's Christmas party today - it was so much fun. Good food, great fellowship, and Christmas gift exchange/stealing game lol that was fun. My friend Pat got her gift stolen from her 4 times! She finally got the one I knit - 2 headbands & a slouch toque - in Red Hatter colours (bold fuchsia/purple/red)

Morning all,

Just a skim of snow from storm, was more the wicked winds mixed with light snow that made it hazzerdous, don’t even think they ran the plows...are calling for snow 12 days out of 14 though so it’s a coming.

Spoke to Jeff last night again, he has been calling every day, heandgreg are such cards, jeff said ‘I guess I’m at the top of the good boy list?’ I said he was getting close lolthat greg had stopped to pick up a bobbin case for my machine, didn’t take long to pipe up ‘ mom, thatis like asking me to pickup a prepaid order at Michael’s when you know I’m coming up on the weekend,no. Big deal!’ Lol so he figures he should be top of my list..a.m. sure they know there No lists when you have kids.

No Susan, I’ve read up andjust going to be more watchful.

That is rare isit not lindakay?
Don’t go out....

Rita is here till noon then off she goes, feeling better so just might go downstairs and do a bit, nope won’t overdo

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

You are sounding more like yourself Betty this morning. Please take it easy though and give your body a chance to get better. Even if you must force yourself to lie down for a while every now and then. That is what I have to do now if I want to be able to do anything. I know it feels unproductive but it really is not if it is helping to make us better. I seem to have a bit more energy when I get back up...I'm sure it would be the same for you too.
Working on the last pages of Norm's cat. Narrow border going down the right side. Should have it done in time for Christmas.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will take your advice Barb..listened so far this morning, still in nighty lol

Rita just got my ifit working on pad so it will help me re fitness.

Not as much detail is there on end pages, more background or not?? Then it’s on to your Christmas project

I will go up at beginning of thread and make nite your Santa Warren gift is travelling with reindeers

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I'm getting the first snow of the year tomorrow - or so they say...... We shall see.
Happy to hear you are taking it easy Betty. I laid down from 1-3 this afternoon and felt much better for it. Didn't sleep, just read a bit on my Kindle and daydreamed. Sometimes that does me more good than anything else LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Know the feeling as well barb, I didn’t even go downstairs, thought I would but the day went by resting..just got off the couch and crawled into bed to do same, some reading, some looking on Pinterest. This electronic bed is great for that, let’s me almost sit up to read, as keyed in positions so when I want to call it a night I simply press on one of the icons..gee whiz I’m spoilt

Was telling Rita Santa is being good this year, ordered a new tool for sewing, cost with shipping I think was $115
When she left there was a card with $100 to cover all but shipping, now I’ll be watching for postman in a few weeks

This is for my oldest son and his wife. It still needs to be quilted.

it was warm here today! Even with the sun gone down it's 45F / 7c! I was out on the deck in my sock feet (wherever there wasn't snow, and that was most of it).
Now, to stop decorating & put the boxes from same, away.
Also time to consider my baking list & schedule.
I'm still doing some knitting for Christmas.

It’s beautiful Lindakay, how thrilled they will be..will you quilt it or send it out?

Forgot to say along with being comfy I filled my Christmas hot water bottle and soothing my neck, can life get any better?

That quilt is stunning LK. They will treasure it for sure.
Glad to hear you are still taking it easy Betty and that you have curtailed your travel for a while. We need to give our bodies time to heal from all the pushing we do
Good you are keeping busy Susan. So glad this Christmas will be a happy one for you and Bob.
Where are you now Karen? Anywhere you can post and let us know how things are going? Happy the rental is sold and prayers for the house......
Off to do my breathing machine. Waving to all and sending prayers to those in need.~~~~~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you are in full swing Christmas mide Susan.

Thanks ladies. I am going to try and quilt it. There are a few longarmers here, but they want $500.00 for a king size quilt.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

LK .. WOwZA .. what a beautiful quilt .. I can't even imagine how time consuming the quilting would be ..
As for the snow in Del Rio (hmm that sounds like a song) LoL .. I hope it went fast !

Barb .. kudos to you on your cross stitch piece .. betcha it's a stunner ..

Remains cold here, and, the snow we got will stay .. still trying to find my Xmas Spirit .. just seems to me it's 'spend, spend, spend' ... NOT the reason for the season !!

Off to town today .. best get movin ..

Hope all are well

Morning all,

Winter wonderland out there, Andrew came to plow around 5, I must get out and shovel but it can wait a bit. Grrr was up most of the night, sharon the same so we gabbed, then at 4 I decided to go through pictures and find a few of jeff to post seeing it’s his 48th birthday today, then it was 5:30,decided to have hot chocolate..Suzanne called at 6:00to say she also had been up since after 4and was wrapping presents so not just me Mr. Sandman missed on his route.

Omg lindakay, wish I lived closer as I’d do it for you, thought longarmers were cheap stateside..think here for a queen it’s around $200 depending how much quilting..for $500you could buy a machine with wide harp to enable you to quilt more quilts..smiling, just ordered my new sewing gadget and already thinking, wonder how long before I get it..Quilting sure has taken on a new generation of gadget aids.

“M”how have you been feeling? Maybe underthe weather has taken some of the fun from the Christmas season? Bet you are enjoying having Lorna home with you..

Barb, you are 100% right, rest8ng is the best for healing..Lordy what will fill your day once the kitty is finished?

Well, today I must do something..had thought about going to barrie this afternoon and pick up odds/sods but will have to check weather first

So glad I came south to get warmer...LOL. Got a late start because of last minute problems. Very long trip, had to make stops often for the baby. Amelia traveled practically from the git-go and was always good with it. Lolli hasn't hardly traveled so got antsy. Not too bad, we stopped about every 3 hours. Got her out of the car seat and her diaper changed and a small snack. Was glad to finally get here.

House we really wanted to see was just sold.

Barb I can add my endorsement to getting an infusion. It will make a huge difference in how you feel and the difference is immediate. They are so careful now with how they handle & check everything. I actually look forward to it as I know I'll feel better instantly.

Lovely susan..my Suzanne hangs over 100dofferent snowflakes from her ceiling, lights run through the area, lots of work but spectacular.

Went to town, got the boys pj’s so pleased with that..did 3 grocery stores and ended up pretty close to not needing Christmas groceries, even bought a turkey for good measure seeing I will not be cooking dinner..just in case.

Know I’m feeling well but have when it starts many relapses and hospital stays so trying to make sure all is done, just in case

Morning, snowing here, 8n my Jammie’s amd unless an emergency I’ll still be wearing them at bedtime.

Snowing heavily
Couldn’t sleep so got up at 2:30a.m....finished doug’s Tarp, going to tell him bringing it back for repairs is a no no. Lol
Think I’ll head to bed

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yesterday we followed the band in a Christmas parade. Hubby and I rode inside the truck pulling the float, all of us tossing candy. It's the first I've gotten to hear GGson's band in person so I very much enjoyed. At the end they put on a small concert in the park. The band has a great time., with each section doing a part of their own. Their director is a great guy and the kids all respond well to him.
We went to dinner afterwards, then to the music store. Payton is wanting to also play piano so we splurged a bit on a keyboard for him. Some of them are really costy but for beginning the one we got will do fine. When we returned home, we let the others open their gifts from us.
We will be returning home next Wed. From the frozen south to the frozen north.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sounds like a wonderful day Karen. I'm so happy you got to participate and enjoy it. Those moments are few and far between the older we get. The young ones get so busy with their lives we don't get to see them as often. But we always feel their love!!!!!

Back to the land of the living..had a good nap..
